If you’ve asked to speak to your pet over the phone or set up a Skype date with them while living abroad, then it’s time to meet your new best friends, Kevin Li and Anthony Chien.

These two lads have seen inside our soul and realised that most of us would be a whole lot more productive if we didn’t spend half our time wondering what our furry friends were getting up to without us.

With that in mind, they created PlayDate which actually  lets you play with your beloved pet from…wait for it… anywhere in the world.

Yes ladies, you read that right.

With the help of the smartball and mobile app, you’ll be able to interact with your pet as if you were in the very same room.

This, ladies, is the future.

Anyway, enough from us, find out more below!

For most of us successfully teaching our dogs to sit is a major achievement, but such tricks are child’s play to Shai Asor who has taught his four-year-old pet rabbit Bini to paint.

According to the Daily Mail, Bini the Bunny has been working on his artistic endeavours since 2014 and directs paintbrushes with his mouth to produce his abstract masterpieces.

When he’s not busy painting and selling his works in his online store (yes the rabbit has his own shop), the Holland Lop bunny spends his time dressing up, playing basketball and combing his owner’s hair.

LA-based Shai Asor – who bought Bini in 2012 – told the Daily Mail he always knew the bunny was different.

He said: “The things he does have never been done by other bunnies before.”

“We had an accident with some markers and he was a very curious bunny to play with them, so I thought maybe I can teach him to paint?”

“Instead of being mad about the mess I just went with it and said ‘let's see what he can do’ and now we sell his paintings in our online store.”

Just when we thought it doesn't get much better than Bugs – the world gives us Bini.

Dublin pub MVP allows dogs into its bar, nearby café Pupp allows dogs in for brunch. Heck, in SHEmazing Towers we even allow puppies to sit at our desks.

So when we heard that a London cinema had decided to open its doors to willing canines (and their owners), we got just a little bit excited. Surely this means it's not long until we can bring Fido along to Cineworld with us?

The Picturehouse Central in London has scheduled in a season of films all about the relationship between pooches and their owners, and the first screening will be open to dogs as well as humans.

"It's a brave cinema that opens up their doors to dogs," the Picturehouse's programme director Clare Binns admitted to The Times yesterday.

However the paper notes that Clare is expecting a "higher class" of dog – i.e. one that won't drool or pee on all those plush cinema seats.

While the first film of the season, Heart Of A Dog, is described as a "dreamy, drifty and altogether lovely movie," the next, Amoros Perros, might not be quite so chilled – it's set in Mexico and deals with the aftermath of a "horrific car crash."

Right, who wants to be the first to sneak their dog into an Irish cinema? We won't tell if you won't…

Dublin pub MVP is officially "dog-friendly" once again.

The Clanbrassil St bar was forced to ban pooches from the premises last month following a visit from the HSE.

However in a post on the MVP Facebook page today, the owners stated that they had decided to open their doors to dogs again, having had no formal contact from the HSE on why canines would not have been allowed in the first place.

"As of today, we are allowing dogs back on the premises of MVP," the post reads.

"We have received no formal written information on why this was not allowed in the first place, nor have any other bars in Dublin been notified.

"So we are going to continue trading as we have done, and as countless bars & cafes across the country have done, for years.

"At the end of the day, we have a business, and jobs to protect, and lots of customers who are loyal and faithful to what we have built here."

Despite the recent HSE crackdown, the general policy has previously (at least informally) been that pub owners make their own decision on whether dogs should be allowed, based on their own assessment of the risks involved. A petition to allow dog-friendly pubs and cafés to be officially made legal here already has over 7,000 signatures.

Right, we're off to MVP to pet some pooches.

So two baby meerkats were born in Australia last month and the Taronga Zoo were quick to show them off on social media.

And we can understand why.

Meerkats in general are cute but baby meerkats are simply another level.

And there is a significance to the baby siblings' birth as they mark the first meerkat babies to be born in the Sydney zoo in almost seven years.

Cheers all round!

The babies were born on January 7 and in the last few weeks have been very busy exploring their surroundings.

Though zoo officials don't know the sex of the babies officially yet (that will be determined in a health check up later this week), they reckon one is a girl and one is a boy.

What a precious pair.

While these types of videos are hard to watch, we reckon they have to be seen in order to see the amazing work done by rescue centres in Ireland.

While this rescue dog had a happy ending, not all of them do.

A video released by PAWS Animal Rescue Ireland showed the terrible state of a rescue dog that had been abandoned on a roadside in Kilkenny last summer.

The dog was so scared and traumatised that he could do nothing but cower against a wall as a rescuer attempted to comfort him.

WHAT had made her like this ??? There are some nasty evil Bas***ds out there

Posted by PAWS Animal Rescue Ireland on Thursday, July 23, 2015

"It was clear that whatever had happened to her in her short lived life, had so badly traumatised her, she couldn’t even bare to move or look at her surroundings," read the strongly-worded caption to the video posted on Facebook.

Thankfully though, the female dog named Cara was adopted and swiftly began to regain her confidence and trust in humans.

She even made a doggy friend in her new home and this 'after' video shows all the progress she has made.

Shy?? Not anymore Cara (Angel)

"We have been sent this fantastic video of Cara," says the new proud owners.

"From the nervous wreck she was in the first video to now. It makes us so very happy."

It makes us super happy too.

She may be a bit wobbly on her paws, but that would not stop us from adopting this adorable kitten.

Meet Olive, the gorgeous black and white rescue kitten who kind of looks like a drunk person when she attempts to move.

But don't fear, Olive hasn't been having a few cheeky cans in the shelter, she suffers from a neurological disorder called Cerebellar Hypoplasia also know as Wobbly Cat Syndrome.

Say hello to Olive! She is a sweet girl that we believe has Wobbly Kitten Syndrome, a neurological disorder that affects her ability to move properly, but we will confirm this after her vet appointment this week. Olive does not let her condition stand in her way! She is very much a normal and playful kitten. Olive enjoys playing with various toys and objects, loves quality time spent with her person, and adores attention. This loving kitten is hoping to find her forever home where she can be loved and cherished daily!! #adoptdontshop #wataugahumanesociety #wobbly #kittensofinstagram #boonenc

While she is in no pain and will live a normal live, she will always be just a tad unsteady on her feet. But lucky for her, her quirkiness will probably see her land a great forever home.

This video posted by the Watauga Humane Society in the States has raked up nearly a million views and now thousands of people want to adopt the shaky kitty.

"Say hello to Olive! She is a sweet girl that has a neurological disorder that affects her ability to move properly," says the video caption.

Hello, friends! Olive is doing great!! Her vet appointment confirmed she does have Wobbly Kitten Syndrome, also known as…

We know diamonds are a girl's best friend, but we think that our dogs might just come above the sparkly stones.

Researchers have found that our pet dogs can sense what we're feeling by combining information from different senses.

Animal behaviour specialists and psychologists carried out a number of studies to suggest that dogs can tell the difference between positive and negative emotions, and apart from humans, they are the only other animals to possess such a trait.

As part of the research, seventeen dogs were shown two different pictures. One was of a happy human and the other was of an angry human.

Various sounds were then played to the dogs of a person's voice – again, one happy tone, and one angry tone.

The researchers found that most dogs matched the happy human with the happy tone of voice, and did the same for the angry picture and voice.

"Our study shows that dogs have the ability to integrate two different sources of sensory information into a coherent perception of emotion in both humans and dogs," said Dr Kun Guo from the University of Lincoln's School of Psychology.

"Our findings are the first to show that dogs truly recognise emotions in humans and other dogs."

Some of us may save some leftover food for our beloved pets on Christmas, but one animal food company has taken it to the next level.

Freshpet made this video as a spoof on your family's Christmas dinner which includes 13 dogs and one cat, and they just about nailed it.

We see the drunk uncle who is well on his way to getting locked, the bulldog-granddad who sneaks sips from his hidden flask and of course, the unruly teen who won't stop texting during dinner.

If only all Christmas dinners could be as funny as this one:

One of the many joyous occasions for kids at Christmas is going to Santa's grotto. Not only do they get to meet the main man, they will more than likely receive a small present for the visit too.

Well, the good people at the Chill Factore in Manchester decided that it shouldn't be just humans that get to enjoy this experience, it can be animals too.

A large number of dogs (and a few cats) paid a visit to Chill Factore, an indoor skiing and snowboarding venue, to check out its new festive grotto for pets!

And not only that, a few lucky dogs even got the chance to meet Santa Paws, Santa's doggy helper (who we have already fallen in love with).

Most of the pups dressed up for the day in very cute pet sweaters and they also received delicious doggy festive treats:
