Reese Witherspoon reveals what her kids think of Cruel Intentions

It’s one of those iconic films that is loved by teens universally, but two kids who are not about to sit down to watch Cruel Intentions anytime soon are Reese Witherspoon’s and Ryan Phillippe’s children.

Now that the couple’s kids are getting older (daughter Ava is 15, while son Deacon is 11) the possibility of them tuning into the movie that sparked their parents’ romance is much more likely, and Reese opened up on the topic during an interview this week.

The mother-of-three need not be too worried about any awkwardness however, as she revealed that Ava and Deacon are completely uninterested in checking out this, or in fact any other movies of hers!

“They don’t have any interest in seeing me in movies. It’s weird for them. They’re like, ‘This is so weird!’ And especially seeing me and their dad having sex. It’s so weird. Not interested,” said the Hot Pursuit star.

Reese, who was married to Phillippe for eight years, added: “They have this Cruel Intentions play in L.A. that’s like a musical, so I was going to take them to that. But they haven’t seen the movie.”

We’re not surprised to hear their thoughts on the film – could you imagine the mortification of it all?

How to achieve Reese’s MTV Movie Awards look

It is no secret that Reese Witherspoon always looks gorgeous, but we particularly adored her make-up look for the 2015 MTV Movie Awards on April 12.

Reese's make-up artist, Molly Stern, has shared the top tips and beauty secrets for getting her red carpet ready and we cannot wait to try them out ourselves.

Molly said: "For tonight's look I wanted the focus to be on Reese's eyes. By keeping her skin looking super fresh and natural, and the lips bright but sheer, I was able to keep the attention on her smoldering liner and bright eye color."

She began by hydrating her skin with Natura Bisse C+C Vitamin Complex Mist and Kiehl's Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence, which is launching in July 2015. She then created a base to start from by applying Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate.

For some areas she applied Chantecaille Rose de Mai Face Oil and mixed medium and light shades of Kiehl's Skin Tone Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream in order to let her own flawless skin show.

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Embrace was used to shape Reese's bone structure and she then added colour to the apples of her cheeks only using Christopher Kane for NARS in Starscape.

For creating the area she wanted to mainly focus on, Reese's eyes, she based her lids with Dior Fusion Mono Eyeshadow in Taupe and applied NARS Bengali matte eyeshadow to her lash line. The upper and lower eye line was lined by smudging Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Star Black 1L. Her lashes were then curled with Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler and applied DiorShow Iconic Overcurl Mascara in Black. The result being that her eyes were quite smokey and striking.

Reese's lips were based in Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour in Coral Reef and then made to shine by applying ColourPop Hyper Glossy Lippie Stix in Juicy.

Introducing Hollywood’s brand-new BFFs

Who’da thought it? But in the topsy-turvy world of celebrity, Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara are now officially BFFs.

The 42-year-old Colombian and the 39-year-old Louisiana-native have been spending an incredible amount of time together in recent months — delightfully posting dozens of snaps of their outings to social media.

Reese and Sofia were at the Met Ball this week

The duo grew close during the filming of Hot Pursuit — the Anne Fletcher-directed movie released earlier this year to disastrous reviews. Still, the unfavourable response hasn’t put a dampener on their friendship. Indeed, just this week Reese and Sofia were snuggling up to one another at the Met Ball in New York.

Yesterday, Reese launched her much-hyped website, Draper James, which sells clothing, accessories, homeware items, and stationary. It proved to be a huge success too; within hours, many of the items had already sold out.

Meanwhile, Sofia is currently locked in a legal battle with her former fiancé Nick Loeb over embryos they had frozen during their relationship. She’s now moved on to Joe Manganiello, whom she is due to marry later this year, and wants the embryos destroyed — against Nick’s wishes.

Actor finally opens up on divorce from Hollywood star

It's hard to believe that it is almost 10 years since Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe announced their divorce.

While both have moved on with their lives (Witherspoon is married to agent Jim Toth, while Phillippe has been in a relationship for the past four years) Cruel Intentions star Phillippe has finally opened up on the reason behind their split.

Speaking candidly in an interview with Larry King this weekend, the 40-year-old revealed that while he and Reese are "very much" still friends, separating was the right thing for both of them.

Ryan, who shares two children – 15-year-old Ava and 11-year-old Deacon – with Reese, said: "I think more of the problem was age. When we got together we were so young. I think it can create issues with two people in this industry because there's so much noise that goes along with it."

He added that the couple, who first met at Ryan's 21st birthday party, have a completely amicable relationship, and went on to describe himself as a "devoted father".

It's nice to hear that a couple can stay on good terms after such a public split. Oh well, we will always have Cruel Intentions!

Actress opens up about her painful divorce in candid interview

Reese Witherspoon has not spoken much about her divorce from Ryan Phillipe in 2006 but now, in a rare interview, she has opened up about their painful split.

The actress, who stars in Wild – which comes to Irish cinemas in January – spoke to 60 Minutes about her divorce, saying she spent a lot of time crying afterwards: “I lay on the kitchen floor and cried a lot and I think at a certain point you just wake up and you’re like, ‘OK, I don’t want to feel like this anymore.’ And you figure your own sh** out.”

Reese also opened up honestly about the effect her divorce from the father of her two children had on her career, only one year after winning the Oscar for Best Actress in 2006 for her role in Walk The Line: “Phew, that was a tough year that followed. I got divorced the next year and I spent a few years just trying to feel better. You know, you can’t really be creative when you feel like your brain is scrambled eggs.”

She was left heartbroken when she discovered herself in a list of “washed-up” celebrities in a 2012 New Yorker piece: “I thought I was reading a profile on another actor, and somewhere at the end it said, you know, the people that are washed up, and at the end of it included me, Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson. It really hurt my feelings, really hurt my feelings.”

Thankfully, the actress’ career is back on the rise with rave reviews for her behind-the-scenes input on David Fincher’s Gone Girl, as well as taking on the lead role in Wild.

Reese is now married to Jim Toth with whom she has a son, Tennessee, as well as being a mum to 15-year-old Ava and 12-year-old Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillipe.

Is Renée out of Bridget Jones 3? Another A-lister offered the part!

After charming audiences as Bridget Jones in the first two films, there seemed to be no doubt that Renée Zellweger would return for the final instalment.

Now though, it appears studio bosses are worried she's no longer a good fit for the part.

After stepping out in Hollywood with a dramatic new look last week, the film's producers are reportedly worried she will alienate audiences, according to the Daily Star.

Rumours are even emerging that Reese Witherspoon has been lined up for the part, for which she would earn at least €25 million. We can't imagine that'll go down well with Renée – the pair were pictured at a charity event together in Los Angeles just last week, and appear to be good pals.

With no Colin Firth or Hugh Grant lined up for the final film, things were always going to be a bit different, but we still can't imagine Bridget Jones without Renee.

Despite the large paycheck, it's uncertain whether Reese would be willing to pile on the pounds for the iconic role. Renée put on 30 pounds for both films but managed to lose the weight within a short space of time once filming wrapped. That can't have been easy… or pleasant!

Reese Witherspoon shared the best Throwback photo on her Instagram yesterday of herself, ex-husband Ryan Philippe, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

The shot is from 1999 movie, Cruel Intentions and Reese captioned the image: “Ahh the 90’s… #CruelIntentions #TBT.”

Reese and Ryan were married in 1999, two years after meeting at Reese's 21st birthday party but were divorced in 2007. They have two children together, Ava and Deacon.

Reese is now married to Jim Toth with whom she has one child, Tennessee.

It’s good to see that Reese and Ryan are still on good terms though – we just wish the ‘90s dream couple could have worked!

Getting asked for ID at the off-license used to be the worst thing in the world, but these days it's starting to seem more like a compliment. "You think I look… 17? Oh my god!"

Some celebrities seem to have this aging thing down though. We can only hope to look half as good as them in our thirties and forties!

Here's some of the biggest culprits – the ladies who seem to have totally escaped the perils of growing old…

1. Alicia Silverstone
It's a struggle to tell the fresh-faced Clueless Alicia apart from the 2014 Alicia. At 37 years old, the actress could still pass for a high school teen!

2. Halle Berry
The only reliable way to tell young and "old" Halle Berry apart is the hairstyle. Yes, she's given up that questionable perm these days, but her skin is as flawless as ever. The star says she rubs pure Vitamin C on her face before applying moisturiser. Okay, we're going to need to get some of that, STAT.

3. Jennifer Aniston
If anything, Jenn is actually hotter these days than she was back during Friends' pilot series. The actress, who is now 45 (whaaat?!) has a 30-minute daily beauty routine which involves washing her face with ice water, steaming and cleansing, and putting a dab of Vaseline under each eye.

4. Liv Tyler
These two pictures of Liv might as well have been taken a few days apart. Only the dodgy fringe betrays the fact that the lady on the left is not present-day Liv. The pale beauty is 37 these days and about to give birth to her second child – but she looks as youthful as ever.

5. Reese Witherspoon
Firstly, let's take a moment to giggle at the VERY casual outfit Reese chose for the premiere of True Lies back in 1994. She wouldn't be seen dead on the red carpet in jeans these days! The actress, aged 37, says she uses intensive hydrating moisturiser to keep her looking fresh-faced. Right, off to Boots with us…

Reese Witherspoon has just fulfilled all of our teenage dreams by reprising her iconic role as Legally Blonde’s Elle Woods.

There was no bend-and-snap or Delta Nu unfortunately, but we’re still loving the short clip, which Reese touchingly filmed as a shout-out to a sick fan.

The actress apparently received an email last week from a mum whose 4-year-old son Will is a huge fan of “The Pink Girl,” as he calls Elle Woods. Will is currently battling cancer and has apparently been watching Legally Blonde over and over while he is treated in hospital.

“Will has been watching it, like four times a day,” said his mum Julie. “When he feels good enough to want something, he wants Legos and 'The Pink Girl.' He finds comfort in it and loves the Pink Lady.”

The email asked for a picture of Reese holding a note to Will, and the actress gratefully obliged, posting an image with the caption “Will – I hear that you're fighting so hard and strong against cancer and that in the hospital you've been watching a lot of Legally Blonde and loving it. I hope it makes you laugh!”

She then went one step further and posted a video of herself in character, sending get well wishes to young Will from herself “and Bruiser.” Awww!

We've all been that soldier on a night out. A couple of drinks in, that epic Rihanna tune comes on and now seems like the best time in the world to show off those fabulous dancing skills you’ve been hiding.

It’s all well and good until the next day when you see a delightful video has been tagged on Facebook. Is that me?! No. It can’t be! NO!!!

We’re sure Reese Witherspoon had a similar reaction when she saw the video posted online of her throwing some serious shapes on the dance floor in Capri, Italy. The actress was filmed rocking out big time to I Will Survive with not a care in the world, and what looks a glass of champagne in hand.

She’s no Beyoncé when it comes to dancing talents, we'll admit, but the star definitely looks like she’s having an amazing night. We salute you and your slightly mental moves, Reese!
