Second-in-line to the British throne, Prince William, has made history this week after becoming the first member of the royal family to be photographed for the cover of a gay magazine.

The 33-year-old royal, who posed for the cover of Attitude magazine, was approached by the magazine's editor after he saw the work William and Kate had put into raising awareness of bullying and mental health.

Commenting on his decision to include the royal in the Jude edition of the magazine, Matthew Todd said: "I wrote to the Duke of Cambridge after writing about the realisation LGBT people can suffer higher levels of mental health problems and a growing awareness this is caused by experiences at school."

"Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry have been focusing on mental health issues in that last year and I think they realised that there this is a significant problem with LGBT-phobic bullying in schools which needs to be addressed," he added.

According to The Independent, Prince William invited nine members of the LGBT community to Kensington Palace in order to get an insight into their personal experiences.

And earlier today, Kensington Palace highlighted Prince WIlliam's participation in the upcoming issue, tweeting: "The Duke of Cambridge is on the cover of the next issue of@AttitudeMag speaking out against bullying."

Matthew Todd insists Prince William's approach to the issue is of the utmost importance, saying: "The highest institution of the country, the royal king, is saying it’s not suitable to bully someone because of their sexuality."

The magazine hits the shelves on June 22.

While we may have been the first country to legalise same-sex marriage by popular vote, that doesn't mean every member of the Irish LGBT community feels wholly content with their place in Irish society.

And with the Dublin Pride Festival kicking off next week, National Coordinator of the Helpline, Paula Fagan, confirmed that the LBGT Helpline can actually expect a surge in the number of calls placed by members of the Irish public.

Speaking at the launch of the helpline’s partnership with eir this week, Paula explained that the festival can stir up a variety of emotions from members of the LGBT community and their family members.

“For most people, Pride is a time of celebration and fun but, for many, it can also be a time when they feel in need of support,” she said as she explained that calls can quadruple during this time of the year.

“For people who are questioning their sexuality or gender identity or feeling anxious about coming out, Pride season can bring these feelings to the fore,” she added.

While explaining that Pride season seeks to shine a spotlight on the LGBT community, Paula acknowledged that this can ultimately have a domino effect.

“For family-members and friends of LGBT people, Pride can be the time for them to seek additional information about LGBT issues, or to reach out for support around their or a loved one’s LGBT identity.”

As part of ‘It’s Good to Talk’, the LGBT Helpline and eir will have a highly-visible presence in the Dublin Pride Parade on 25th June.

With a large tent at the Pride Village and Helpline volunteers  on hand to provide emotional support and information to anyone who needs it, Pride Festival is ALL about the love.

Dublin Pride Festival is kicking off on June 22 and running until June 26.

When Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama announced their split over the weekend, the sound of a million hearts could be heard breaking all over the world.

After six years together, die-hard Delmer fans were certain a wedding was on the horizon, but it looks like it just wasn't meant to be.

Having told fans that she and That 70s Show actor were still the best of friends, Demi then insisted that they would always be supportive of each other.

But since the news broke, sources close to the popular former couple have offered further details into the split, with one insider revealing that the two stars were more like siblings than partners.

"It had turned into more of a big brother-little sister kind of relationship," a source told E! News. "The romance wasn't what it used to be."

Explaining that the 36-year-old actor played an incredibly important role in the former Disney star's life, an insider revealed: "Wilmer is still very protective of her. He did a lot for her."

"There was a lot of love there," the source insisted. "They love each other but aren't in love anymore. They are really great friends which they'll continue to be but the romance sort of died."

Sounds a lot like what happened to poor ol' Tayvin, right?

Getting engaged is magical, but getting engaged at Disney World's Gay Day celebrations with the help of Kesha is in a different league entirely.

We’re all about sisterhood here at SHEmazing! HQ.

Empowering other women has always been the name of the game, and we love nothing more than having strong, confident women to take our lead from.

Whether it’s a friend, colleague or celeb, learning from another woman and allowing their approach to life and love influence yours in a positive way is one of life’s little gifts, and we’ve never been one to turn our back on a present.

One woman who has been giving us major life goals these days is our very own Róisín O, and here, ladies, are just six reasons why we absolutely love this Dubliner.

1. THOSE vocals

Talk about stating the obvious, but Christ on a bike, that girl can sing.

When you're getting goosebumps during your morning commute and revisiting your old journals for potential song lyrics, you know you have it bad for someone.

2. THIS video

The video for Give It Up is impressive in anyone's language, but when we heard the entire thing was shot in just one take, we fell all over ourselves here at SHEmazing! HQ.

Vocally stunning and visually compelling, this video gave us ALL the feels, AND reminded us exactly why this girl is in a league of her own.

3. THIS cover

If you, like us, will be forever indebted to your parents for introducing you to Fleetwood Mac, then you'll totally understand why this cover featured in our list.

Taking one of our favourite tunes and making it her own, Róisín O absolutely nailed Landslide and made us question whether she actually topped Stevie Nick's original.

4. THAT piercing

Is it just us, or does Róisín reminds you of an effortlessly cool cousin who you always wanted to be like?

Maybe it's the piercing – OK, it's definitely the piercing – but every time we catch a glimpse of her we start picturing whether we could rock one just like Ms. O.

5. THIS throwback snap

We love nothing more than getting a snapshot into certain star's past lives, and Róisín really knows how to deliver on this front.

Reminding us that everyone's family shots looked exactly the same back in the 80s – dodgy decor galore – this singer gave us all the feels when she posted a throwback snap of her and her bro getting their flake on back in the day.

6. THIS gig

Róisín is as passionate about protecting young women in Ireland as we are, so we are PUMPED that she's headlining our gig in The Sugar Club on Wednesday July 6th.

Raising awareness of dating abuse and raising funds for Women's Aid is the name of the game on the night, and if you want to get involved, you can get your early bird tickets right here, right now.

We've loved Dawn O'Porter long before she ever boasted the 'O' in her name, but we think our admiration for the woman may have just gone up a notch following her latest Instagram upload.

Like all of us, it seems the Paper Aeroplanes author is guilty of sending bizarre messages to her other half before getting uppity that the text understandably goes unanswered.

Taking to Instagram last night, Chris O'Dowd's wife revealed that she had sent a particular image to her husband and was then majorly blanked.

Sent this to my husband a while ago, he hasn't replied yet. I take it there is a Liverpool match on?

A photo posted by Dawn O'Porter (@hotpatooties) on

"Sent this to my husband a while ago, he hasn't replied yet. I take it there is a Liverpool match on?" she wrote alongside the screenshot of her ridiculously informative message.

Rushing to console Dawn in her time of need, the author's followers admitted that they too knew the pain of becoming a football widow.

"They've just scored… I should wear a bloody nappy when Liverpool score, husband jumps and I sh*t my pants," wrote one while another offered: "Hubby watching on lpad and headphones (good) but gave me heart attack when they scored and he screamed like a madman."

If Dawn's message is her idea of a saucy sext, we're actually dying here.

As women, we're used to feeling like the clothes sizes provided on the high street don't accurately represent our physical stature or body shape, but we suck it up because we know that some stores can make us feel like goddesses and others can make us feel like ogres.

Knowing the label on your clothes can vary hugely from shop to shop is the norm for us, but there's one guy in the States who is only MAD to fight our corner on this one.

Benjamin Ashton Cooper was helping his girlfriend clean out her closet (We know, where do we find him?) when he realised that the vast majority of her clothes were labelled XL despite the fact her actual physique suggested something very different.

Taking to Facebook to highlight the issue, Benjamin posted photos of himself in his girlfriend's clothes, writing: "So I'm helping my girlfriend clean out her closet (literally, shut up), and I noticed that a lot of what she was getting rid of was of the XL size."

"That didn't look right to me, and here's why. They fit me. I don't say that to be silly or ironic. It pisses me off," he continued in the post which has clocked up over a quarter of a million likes since its upload.

"I am not an extra large man, and, more importantly, a woman my size is NOT an extra large woman," he wrote."This bullsh*t right here is why we have 8 year olds with eating disorders."

"This sh*t right here is why men shout "f*cking fat hog!" at even nominally curvy girls on the street. This is why men who think sexism is a "myth" perpetuated by liberal p*ssies are Full. Of. Sh*t," he raged.

Unsurprisingly, Benjamin's Facebook page has been flooded with comments from the public, with one writing: "Thank you for this Ben. I am one of those who has negative feelings about wearing XL size. I look in the mirror or at myself in general and don't think I'm that big of a woman."

"But then I go to stores and the only things I fit in are XL sometimes bigger, and that does make me feel a little bad about myself and think "Am I really that big?"…. This post really put things into perspective for me. Thank you!" she finished.

Benjamin for President!

Call us naive, but sometimes you're just better off not knowing whether or not your other half is lying to you.

Sure, when it comes to the big stuff, we need ALL the deets, but if he tells you his phone is dying because he'd rather be playing Call of Duty than texting you about Shellac, then frankly, we're OK with that.

However, it looks like not everybody is down with hearing a little white lie from time to time, so experts have set about creating an app which tells you exactly how much battery life the person you're texting actually has.

According to a report in The Mirror, the new app, Battery Share, will allow people in on their friend or partner's battery deets as long as they agree to share their information with each other.

"I really needed to get a hold of someone, and couldn’t. I figured that I must not be the only one this has happened to," explained Terry Demco, creator of Battery Share. "So from that, came this app."

We can see this signalling the end of some relationships…

We all want to look like we've spent a month sunning ourselves in St. Tropez the first time we bump into an ex after a break-up, but let's face it, life isn't that kind.

If your luck is anything like ours, you're more likely to stumble into him in the toilet roll aisle of your local supermarket after a serious weekend on the razz.

One comedian who has absolutely nailed this tragic but almost inevitable scenario has taken to Facebook with a quick and easy tutorial to ensure you don't confuse your other half by looking like you might actually have your life together post break-up.

Let's be honest, a lot of our blokes could do with a crash course in romance.

Don't get us wrong, we KNOW they're a sound bunch and they definitely TRY to please us on the romance front, but we're women and no amount of romance is ever really enough.

What? We saw The Notebook, and it gave us unrealistic expectations, so sue us.

Proving that he is definitely on the same page as us when it comes to this is everyone's favourite stylist and television presenter, Gok Wan.

Taking to Twitter today, the 41-year-old Off The Rails presenter shared what has to be the most perfect moment in a couple's relationship, tweeting: "Just overheard a couple in my hotel. The man says the woman "You're more and more beautiful the more I look at you'." (sic)

Just like us, the lovely Gok's little heart gave a lurch at the sheer BEAUTY of the moment and he went on to tweet:" #notfair #wantone."

Surprisingly, the tweet divided Gok's followers with some gushing over the sentiment and others suggesting that the couple must be having a dirty weekend away because they're…shhhh…having an affair.

Ah lads!

Whether you're in a relationship or not, there are very few of us who haven't imagined the perfect setting for our dream proposal, and most of us are PRETTY sure we've nailed it on this one.

Well, we're sorry ladies, but all our fantasies have been just blown out of the water by one Imgur user this week who actually recreated the Marauder’s Map from Harry Potter in order to pop the big question to his stunned girlfriend.

Sharing an image of the intricate map online, Evan Onuskanych put all our other halves to shame in one very. very cool move which really makes us wish our significant others were as handy with a marker.

View post on imgur.com

"Created a mauraders maps of my life with my fiancée for my proposal with us standing where the map said we were," he explained in his post. "She said yes!"

Well, we're not bloody surprised!
