Oh boy, is this interesting.

Ok so, we all know that people cheat. It's the harsh and shitty reality but it IS a reality and now we can see what both the male and female version of a love rat looks like.

All thanks to IllicitEncounters.com, the UK’s leading dating site for married people who compiled the typical profiles of their site users.

They checked the most popular characteristics of 5,000 male and female cheats based on preferences in their profiles and questionnaires and ta-da! here's what they found.

Your typical male cheater looks like:

A 43-year-old manager earning £58,000 a year.

He's 5ft 10in, has size ten feet, drives a Golf, his number one hobby is also golf and his favourite TV show is Match of the Day.

He has dark hair with flecks of grey which he keeps undyed.

Oh-so cliche, right?

When it comes to the female cheat, these characteristics are what you should look out for:

She's 39-years-old, also a white collar professional and she earns £52,000 a year.

She's 5ft 4in, and more likely to wear high heels on her feet which are a size 7.

She drives a Mini, her main hobby away from work is going to the gym and her favourite TV show is The Great British Bake Off.

IllicitEncounters.com spokesman Christian Grant said, ''What these two profiles show is that Mr and Mrs Average love cheat are richer than your ordinary person but in most other respects they are typical.''

He continued, ''One other big giveaway for both sexes if you are trying to spot if your partner will be unfaithful is size. Cheats tend to be taller in both sexes and have a bigger feet.''

He added, ''The other big warning sign is age, particularly if they are entering the last year of a decade. If your partner is turning 30, 40 or 50 this year, do make an effort to spoil them because they may be thinking of making a change.”

Food for thought, huh?

Many of us know the 'symptoms' of falling in love; dry mouth, racing heartbeat, nervous sweating (hey- no judgement here) and even dizziness.

Be it love at first sight, a lustful locking of eyes across the room, fizzling sexual chemistry or even just plain HORMONES; it's a massively powerful experience.

Seeing as Valentine's Day, dread it or delight in it, is only 31 days away, we've decided to get our reading glasses on and find the science behind LURVE.

We're not the only publication carrying out extensive and important research into Cupid; scientists at the University of California have delved deeper to attempt to discover what happens to our bodies.

Apparently, that euphoric high that can occur when the flame is lit might be due to your GENES, according to Stylist.

The University of California were itching to discover how love affects the genes which control our immune systems, and took blind samples from 47 young women as they engaged in brand new relationships.

Genetic changes were monitored as the women fell in love over the course of two years with a new partner, and the scientists recently published their findings in the journal Psychoneuroendocrinology.

According to the researchers; “Falling in love is one of the most psychologically potent experiences in human life. New romantic love is accompanied not only by psychological changes, but physiological changes as well.”

The journal claims that when the women in their sample fell in love, their genes produces interferon- a protein most commonly deployed to fight viruses within the human body.

"These findings are consistent with a selective up-regulation of innate immune responses to viral infections… and provide insight into the immuno-regulatory correlates of one of the keystone experiences in human life,” the scientists claim.

As women later fell out of love with their respective partners, their production of interferon was reduced. WHOA.

The experts assert that; “Some research suggests that psychological changes associated with romantic love may be attenuated as the relationship matures,” the experts said.

“The biological correlates of love might abate with the maturation of a longer-term more stable mate bond.”

Though the scientists don't yet know the exact reason for women producing an increase of interferon, they're pondering the idea that it may be to prepare for PREGNANCY. Whoa x2.

Researchers now believe that men's genetic response probably isn't the same as women's. Typical lads.

Previous scientific investigations found that both regions of our brains interact as we fall deeply in lurve.

The 'feel good' neurotransmitter dopamine is distributed across our brains when the ventral tegmental area and caudate nucleus work in tangent with each other.

Basically, in English this means that as we become romantically involved with someone, we start craving their presence.

The craving gets deeper as we fall more deeply in love with them, hence the feeling of lovesick obsession.

Experiencing heartbreak can also affect our bodies, apparently.

No, not just bloating from all that Ben & Jerry's.Though that's a definite contributing factor…

Intense rejection activates the area of our brains that deal with physical pain, and research alleges that our bodies are literally more physically sensitive when we go through a break-up or romantic rejection.

There's something about January that makes people feel the need to search for the next love of their life, apparently.

Maybe the new year just makes us feel just a lil bit… broody? The first Sunday of the new year happens to be the most popular online dating day of the calendar year, according to Hinge.

Whether you're hungry for a new job, a new place to settle or a new gal or guy to send all of our heart emojis to, the turning of time urges us to reevaluate parts of our lives which may feel lacking in some way.

January 6 is so popular in terms of online dating apps that it has been dubbed "Dating Sunday", and industry experts are predicting that 2019 will be bigger than ever for the online love world.

Hinge analysed activity data from 2016 until 2018, and saw a massive spike in conversations, as well as far more dates being arranged and a much higher messaging response rate. Gas.

In 2017 there was an increase of 41 percent of people who began conversations on Dating Sunday than the week before- and in 2018 that figure rose to 59 percent. Jaysis, these numbers don't lie, do they?

62 percent more users set up dates on Dating Sunday in 2018, and Hinge also reported increased in daily user activity, with 20 percent more conversations being carried out and a 36 percent higher message response rate.

Singles who are seeking love clearly become influenced after Christmas ends and the parties simmer down, will you be swiping right today?

We might just go and update those profile pictures seeing as the competition is higher… bring on the messages, lads.

As a single parent, I can totally related to Ferne McCann's feels on dating.

It's hard enough to raise a human, let alone add a love life into the mix.

But as her daughter, Sunday is now 14-months-old (just over a year to those of you who aren't familiar with baby speak), Ferne is ready to get back out there.

Eighteen months after her split from Arthur Collins, the 28-year-old is open to dating.

Opening up about her love life, she said that her daughter Sunday has always been her top "priority".

"I've always thought that this comes first, or that comes first, and couldn't imagine how I would have fitted dating into my busy life."

"My priority is my daughter Sunday and I have to work to provide for her, but she's a year old now and life is moving on," she explained to The Sun Online.

As the new year arrives, Ferne is now at the stage where she is open to finding a fella.

"My friends are getting married and I'm a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding," she said

"I'm at that stage of my life, so I am more open to dating now. That's my New Year's resolution."

Ferne will soon be back on our screens for the second season of First Time Mum, but she has also been very busy with a new fitness DVD.

Titled "Fit as Ferne" – the DVD aims to get us in tip-top shape.

You've no excuses though as it's tailored towards busy people – if Ferne can find time to train with a child, we can too.

We are THRILLED for Ferne and we hope she finds a rockin' fella.

Ariana Grande was recently papped having some New York fun with ex-beau, Ricky Alvarez.

The pair were spotted out and about in the Big Apple, which sparked the Internet to speculate that they could be more than just friends.

But are they actually getting back together? Probably not.

The singer has reiterated that she is remaining a single lady in 2019.

Taking to Twitter just two days ago, Ari tweeted: "Spoiler for the rest of this year / probably my life: it’s no one. Please refer back to this tweet for future questions."

Besides, Ariana and Ricky have always had a solid friendship since their break-up in 2016.

We would be genuinely shookth if they did reignite the flame, as Thank U, Next proved that any love between them is just friendly.

To refresh your memory: "Wrote some songs about Ricky, Now I listen and laugh."

Fans were also quick to defend their friendship as rumours swirled.

One said: "Just because Ariana is hanging out with ricky it doesn’t mean they are gonna get back together.. in the words of miss Grande: 'Believe it or not women can be friends with people with dicks and not hop on them'” – AMEN.

We are hoping that 2019 will be an easier year for Ari, whether she finds love or not.

As for this rumour, we'll be saying Thank U, Next.

I think we can all agree that Ariana Grande has had a fairly busy 2018.

After her split from Mac Miller and subsequent whirlwind engagement to Pete Davidson, the singer is understandably wary about dating.

The 25-year-old revealed what her dating plans are when she responded to a fan on Twitter.

Replying to, ''Who is Ariana dating now?'' she said, ''Can they tell me too?''

Maybe hinting at a New Year’s resolution, she said, ''Spoiler for the rest of this year / probably my life: it’s no one. please refer back to this tweet for future questions.''

Ariana has had an unreal 2018 career-wise, ending the year with the iconic Thank You, Next – a dedication to all of her ex-boyfs.

The chart-topper told the audience at Billboard’s Woman Of The Year, ''This has been one of the best years in my career and one of like the worst years in my life.''

She continued, ''As far as my personal life goes I really have no idea what the fuck I am doing. So yeah, it’s been a very conflicting one.''

We've all been given the 'seen' treatment.

You know the feeling; you send a frankly hilarious/charming/emotionally charged message to a significant other, or someone you just think is damn FINE and they reply with ….nothing.

You're left stunned, humiliated and downright SANGRY. (Sad and angry, the term will catch on eventually.)

Well, when one girlfriend was getting zero response, she decided to do something productive with her time and create a fake movie trailer for the search for missing man.

The result is GAS;

Paulina Ramirez sent a text to her boyfriend George Giron about a potential plan for chicken and waffles, but never heard back.

How in God's name can anyone not reply to chicken and waffles? What kind of monster is that??

people feel better GIF

Yet instead of stewing in her own frustration and rage, the 21-year-old student at California State University, Ramirez created this professional-grade trailer called Where the F*** is George?

She spoke to Buzzfeed about her highly productive and funny project, and as it turned out, he was only asleep…for an hour.

"I got bored and decided to make a video that might make him chuckle."

The video went viral after she uploaded it to Twitter, with more than 1.4million views, 50,000 retweets, and 160,000 likes.

Fair play Paulina, but maybe wait longer than an hour to send out a search party.

Having a tall boyf is something a lot of us gals would like.

Even us 5ft 2 ladies always seem to opt for the lads who tower over us – we know, we know, it's shallow.

But new research shows us that there is a reason why we are usually much more attracted to taller men.

Not only are taller people raking in more cash, but they are are well-satisfied in bed.

More than 1,000 adults were surveyed by BodyLogicMD to see how our stature can influence earnings, even desirability.

So what results did the study show?

First of all, a whopping 60% of men wish they were taller as well as men wanting their ideal height to be 6ft – and when we delve deeper into the survey, we can see why.

Taller men seemed to consider themselves more attractive, confident and desirable than their shorter mates did.

Also 42.2% of men believed that being taller would give them better dating opportunities.

When it came to being sexually fulfilled, around 60% of taller than average men (at least 5’11”) and women (at least 5’6”) said they were.

Shorter than average women were most likely to consider themselves funny, yet they had lower levels of self-esteem in both sexual satisfaction and attractiveness.

Is height important to you?

Would you be less likely to date someone who was a lot shorter than you?

Do you think being tall has that much of an impact on your relationships/career/sex life/life in general?

They were what we all thought Love Island was about and when Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham were crowned the 2018 winners, it seemed that a Love Island wedding and babies were on the cards.

Alas, it was not to be and the couple shocked us all when they announced (or rather, Dani did) on Instagram that they had split after six months together.

The 22-year-old took to social media to post a message about what had happened between the pair.

She wrote, ''Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways. It’s been an incredible six months and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but sadly we’ve come to the realisation that it’s not mean to be long-term. We both plan to stay friends, I hope you’ll all understand. Love, Dani xx.''

The former couple were one of the few to not have sex in the villa during the summer and when they left Jack said that their first time ''wasn't a great performance'' but that it was ''amazing'' now.

However, Dani now claims that the 27-year-old was ''talking shit.''

She said before the break up that, ''People seem to want to know what we are getting up to of a night-time but this is our life, not some sort of sex-education class.''

We wonder how the rest of this break up aftermath is gonna pan out – get the popcorn and watch this space…

Men.

Can't live with 'em, can't live…hang on. .

Scratch that.

Why can't we live without them?

All they really do is cause us stress, worry, irritation and heartache tbh.

And if you needed solid proof of that, than look no further than Mary Norris, who celebrated her 100th birthday on December 3.

Born days after the First World War ended, Mary is the last surviving of her ten siblings and credits her long life to a few things.

Number one, is the fact that she never married – and I think we can all agree that that lifted significant emotional worry and stress from her life.

What's that old quote again?

''I used to be married…but I’m much better now'' – rings true doesn't it?

She was 22 when the Second World War started and she was working in a munitions factory in Edinburgh – in fact, she hasn't stepped out of Scotland in her whole life.

Now living in St Andrew's Court, the housing manager Lynn McCusker said, ''Mary is always on the go. She’ll occasionally treat herself with a trip to the hairdressers, too.''

She added, ''She loves to dance and enjoys a sherry, so maybe that’s the secret.''

Sherry and avoiding all men?

Sounds like the dream life to us.
