Room To Improve always offers up a tonne of Twitter fodder, from building plans going massively over-budget to couples speaking to each other through gritted teeth about French windows as the cameras roll merrily on.

But last night's episode was a little different. For once, there was nothing to make fun of.

The build went smoothly, the finished house was gorgeous, and the homeowners were a total delight. So much so, in fact, that Mel and Aoife gave Twitter total relationship envy.

They were just so HAPPY with the whole process…

That enthusiasm!

They didn't seem bothered by things going over-budget, or that their three-bed semi detached house in Baldoyle cost them a whopping €770,000 in total.

Or the fact that they had to move in with Aoife's parents for FAR longer than planned. Though why would they? Aoife's mam and dad were downright amazing too.

All in all, Mel and Aoife definitely take home the title of Most Agreeable Couple Ever.

But when it comes to feeling the love Cormac the builder wasn't left out in the cold either:

Sadly though, he's taken:

We're already excited for next week's episode.

It's time to say goodbye to The Voice of Ireland as RTE has axed the singing contest reality show.

So, now instead of seeing Kian, Rachel, Una and Bressie on our screens every Sunday night, we're going to get a eyeful of… Louis Walsh.

Yep, the music mogul is making waves as he sets to debut Ireland's Got Talent next year, something TV3 previously turned him down for.

According to the Sunday World, Louis will be the main judge (surprise, surprise) and he will also be picking who his fellow mentors will be.

Keith Duffy and Linda Martin are in the running to take the hot seat alongside Louis… But we'll hold out on that one.

What do you think, ladies? Yay or nay with this choice of action? We're going to miss swooning over Bressie every Sunday.

After the trauma of her daughter's killing – not to mention a high-profile murder trial that gripped the world – June Steenkamp travels to Ireland this weekend.

Appearing on the Ray D’Arcy Show on RTE, she will discuss Reeva's death at the hands of her boyfriend, Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius, on Valentine’s Day 2013.

June is expected to talk about how the past three years have affected her family, as well as her memories of her daughter, how it felt to see Oscar Pistorius in court, and the tragic events surrounding Reeva’s death.

Also on the show this weekend is Hollywood actor Aidan Quinn, who is in town to help mark the 20th anniversary of the hit movie Michael Collins.

He will join Ray on the couch to talk about his life and career to date, including his role in Elementary, his almost 30 year marriage to actress Elizabeth Bracco and his Irish roots – his parents are from Birr, Co. Offaly.

The Ray D’Arcy Show airs on Saturday February 20 at 9.55pm on RTÉ One.

Fans of Irish TV chef Donal Skehan will know his Howth home, which he shares with wife Sofie, very well.

It has featured in his RTÉ cookery shows – Kitchen Hero and Cook, Eat, Burn – as well as providing the backdrop for many of his recipe photos. All in all, it's been Donal and Sofie's home for six years, but now the couple are leaving it, and Ireland, behind.

A move to Los Angeles to further his career as a celebrity chef has long been on the cards for Donal, and with a new Food Network series underway, it seems now is the right time to relocate.

"We’ve done some amazing things in Ireland and now it’s time to do what we do to a wider audience. We’ve a few friends and my uncle lives out there so it won’t be too lonely," he told The Herald last month.

Taking to Instagram this morning, Donal penned an emotional goodbye to his Howth cottage, reliving some of the couple's memories there.

"We said our goodbyes yesterday to the house which was our first home, the place all my shows were shot, the place we worked from, where our neighbours were never short of a big hello," Donal wrote next to a picture of himself and a smiling Sofie at their front door.

"[The house was] where Max came home to for the first time, where we first came home to as a married couple, where we grew veggies out the back all summer long, where the best cliff walks started and finished and where we cooked some of the best dinners and enjoyed the best nights in with friends and family, celebrating birthdays, engagements, babies, anniversaries and more.

"A huge thank you to everyone who crossed the threshold and enjoyed the place as much as we did, for now though it's goodbye to our little Howth home…"

Wishing Donal and Sofie the best of luck with their big move.

The second episode of the brand new series only aired last night – but it appears that much of the nation is already firmly hooked on Room To Improve.

And while a week ago the hit RTE show prompted plenty #teamMotherinlaw discussion, yesterday folk were more focused on THAT concrete wall.

Given pride of place in owner Ian Callaghan's living room at his newly acquired Co Louth abode, the grey slab seemed to be loved and loathed in equal measure by viewers.

Also catching the attention of viewers was brooding British Airways pilot Ian, who bought the 1930s property last year and renovated it with the help of his girlfriend, Claire Moore.

And it seems that 31-year-old Ian is more than just a handsome face: he was hailed as a hero last year when his place went on FIRE on the runway in Las Vegas.

With some 180 passengers and crew on board his Boeing 777-200 aircraft, he and Captain Chris Henkey safely evacuated the plane when one of the engines burst into flames shortly after take-off.

Afterwards, authorities in the US praised the duo for their quick-thinking and calm demeanour.

Claire, who had been dating Ian for more than a year when the frightening incident happened last September, told the Irish Mirror at the time: "I have flown with him loads of times so I know how confident and competent he is and what he did in Vegas just confirmed all that."

Meanwhile, a cartoon depicting how each episode of Room To Improve pans out it currently doing the rounds on social media.

Created by Dublin-based artist Twisted Doodles, the illustration includes a nod to budget woes and colour clashes, before wrapping up with Dermot desperating asking: "Why don't people listen to me?"

First her daughter, now her mum… Jennifer Maguire is keeping it in the family with promotion for her new RTÉ series, Bridget and Eamon.

The actress and comedian shared a brilliant family throwback snap from the Eighties on social media this morning, and now we can see exactly where she got the inspiration for her Bridget costume.

While Mrs. Maguire was no doubt a far better mother than the chain-smoking Bridget, the two definitely share a similar style:

"Just found this old pic. My Ma aka Bridget!! All she needs is the fag and glasses," Jennifer wrote alongside the old Communion Day snap.

And just last month Jen got her baby daughter in on the fun, dressing up little Florence as a mini-Bridget, complete with wig, dressing gown and glasses.

Now all we need is her husband Lau Zamparelli with a ginger wig and bad suit á la Eamon.

Um… maybe not.

As we all know, the Irish aren't very open when it comes to talking about sex.

Sure, sometimes we tip-toe around it with our BFFs, but we never get into the real nitty, gritty details.

Well, that could all be changing very soon as RTE2 and COCO Television are looking for people to join a new sex-themed show with one of our fave TV doctors.

The three-part series is looking for participants aged between 18-30 to take part in various workshops, exploring sex in all its glory.

Embarrassing Bodies star Pixie McKenna is set to host the show and wants people to explore the sex world of Ireland.

“It’s sometimes hard to talk about sex and not blush, but let’s face it none of us would be here without it! I will be looking at the good the bad and the ugly of sex in a fun educational way,” Pixie said.

If you fancy it send an email to sexclinic@cocotelevision.ie with a short paragraph about you and why you want to be invloved.

Liam Neeson is very proud about his involvement in an upcoming docu-series as part of the 1916 Easter Rising Commemorations.

Speaking to Marian Finucane on RTE Radio 1 this morning, the taken star revealed he had to develop his own interest in Irish history.

"We did not learn about our Irish history and it was only when I was at Queen’s University at 19, and the old internment was introduced and the horrors that were happening then were coming to a head, that I started to educate myself about the history of my country."

Liam is narrating the upcoming series, written and produced by historian Briona Nic Dhiarmada and the 63-year-old admitted that he was taken aback by some of the things uncovered during the course of making the documentary.

"They have found footage that’s quite phenomenal and information that’s quite phenomenal. There’s images there that really took my breath away because I had never seen them."

Liam also spoke about the significance of the rising and in particular of Padraig Pearse's proclamation.

"It shows just how beautiful that was and how far reaching it was… how it included women, and the vote… everyone would be equal, every religion would be respected."

RTE radio presenter Joe Duffy reading out some of Kanye's most hilarious tweets from this week may be the best thing that's ever happened on Irish radio.

As part of the popular Eoghan McDermot show on 2FM, Joe has been lending his vastly underused comedic talent to a very brilliant segment entitled Joe Duffy reads out Tweets.

And if there was ever any tweets that deserved reading out by Joe, it was Kanye's colossal rant from earlier this week.

Kanye took to Twitter to tear Wiz Khalifa a new one and also to reply to some pretty awkward accusations made by his ex, Amber Rose.

And in fairness to Joe, he took the sensational tweets in his stride.

RTÉ star Jennifer Maguire is known for her ultra-chic style, but she insists she didn't always have quite as firm a grasp on the world of fashion.

Speaking to SHEmazing! today ahead of her return to RTÉ2 as everyone's favourite 1980s mammy on Bridget & Eamon, Jennifer recalled her own memories of that "ridiculous" decade.

"I was all about the shiny tracksuits, and my sisters and I all had awful hair," she admitted.

"I'm amazed we survived the Eighties really.

"My own style would be more inspired by Alex Chung than Bridget, I love that 'effortless' look… But the Eighties is so in right now."

Of course, now that she's an Irish mammy herself – indeed, she welcomed her first daughter Florence last March – Jennifer's all about the 1980s throwbacks.

"The moment Florence gets sick she'll have flat 7Up and dry toast.

"That's a given, it cures everything, I'm sure it cures cancer, they just haven't spotted it yet."

With little Florence about to turn one, Jennifer says she's definitely open to having more kids – but not just yet.

"I'd love to do a Miriam [O'Callaghan] on it and have a rake of kids," she explains.

"But I live in a shoebox so it's not feasible right now."

For the moment, the mum-of-one is happy to focus on building her career, which got a huge boost last year when RTÉ commissioned Bridget & Eamon – originally a Republic of Telly sketch – for a full series.

"We’re really proud of it," says Jennifer of the new show, written by herself, Jason Butler and co-star Bernard O'Shea.

"So many people have told us how much they love the characters and how much Bridget reminds them of their mammy or their mad neighbour. I hope people enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it."

Bridget & Eamon starts on RTÉ2 on Monday 1 February at 10pm – check out our interview with Jennifer below:

Expect to see every second baby dressed up as a mini Bridget or Eamon this Halloween, all thanks to Jennifer Maguire's genius idea.

The new mum was clearly having some fun with her Republic of Telly wardrobe this afternoon, and shared the world's sweetest photo of her daughter Florence all gussied up as an Irish Mammy.

"Lots of excitement in my house for #bridgetandeamon Monday night 1st Feb on @RTE2 #choppychangey" she wrote alongside a snap of Florence rocking Bridget's signature brown wig and clear plastic glasses.

Jennifer and her husband Lau Zamparelli welcomed their first daughter back in March, eight months after their country wedding at Castle Leslie in Co. Monaghan.

The RTÉ star, whose Republic of Telly skits as Irish mammy Bridget led to a spin-off show which kicks off next week, admitted recently that she struggled during the early stages of motherhood.

"You’re running on empty. You’re so busy with a newborn. Nobody tells you to look after yourself,” she told the Irish Examiner, adding that she had "put too much pressure on herself."

Well, it looks like year two of being a mum is definitely agreeing with Jennifer – we're hoping this isn't the last of the mini-me fancy dress sessions.

Catch Bridget & Eamon next Monday Feb 1 at 10pm on RTÉ2.

Ah, Don't Tell The Bride. It's the beloved TV show that you watch with your mammy and your granny – and it's probably safe to say it never disappoints.

In some way or another, the brides always end up happy with their special day, but we're a bit worried about the poor bride on tonight's show.

Shankill couple Noel and Wendy have been together for 13 years, and Wendy has put all control in her groom-to-be's hands.

And of course, in true Irish style, he goes for a Mixed Martial Arts theme wedding – the first in Ireland – but will it please his bride?

We can only imagine what the outcome is going to be. She's dreaming of a castle wedding (don't we all?) and he chooses an octagon where men knock each other out.

And, another important point (probably the most important), Wendy doesn't like MMA, and really hates "ring girls." Oh no.

Even though Noel has a love for fisty cuffs, he's a romantic at heart and puts everything into this wedding day. We're just going to have to watch tonight to see it all works out for this MMA lover.

Don't Tell The Bride is on RTÉ2 tonight at 9pm.
