According to emerging reports, an Irish student, who travelled to the United States on a JI Visa this summer, is in a critical condition in San Diego after being attacked last Friday.

It is understood that 21-year-old Evan White from Co Cork was assaulted after spending a night celebrating his birthday with friends.

According to MSN, Evan was rushed to Scripps La Jolla Hospital where he remains in intensive care after being attacked in a laneway in the Pacific Bay area of San Diego.

Speaking to the Irish Sun, friends of the student, who studies Business at University College Cork, expressed their distress over Evan's condition.

"They said he is a terrible state. He was beaten to a pulp. He has injuries everywhere but particularly to his face.He has so many bones broken there, he is unrecognisable," they explained.

Looking to the future, Evan's friends remain hopeful he will recover, saying: "But the good news is that he has been fighting back and while he is still in intensive care and still critical there are strong hopes for his recovery."

Describing Evan as the 'nicest, quietest guy you could meet', the 21-year-old's friends insist the student would not have willingly engaged in any form of confrontation.

"He would never get into a confrontational situation. He is very shy until you get to know him.”

Evan's family have made their way to the United States and The Department of Foreign Affairs is currently providing consular assistance.

She a beautiful actress with a 20-year long Hollywood career under her belt.

But it seems that a recent round of pictures of Tara Reid has worried some of her loyal fans – with many claiming that she doesn't look well.

The 40-year-old was is currently in San Diego for the famed Comic-Con event.

Tara herself has been promoting her latest film, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens – taking to the IMDb yacht yesterday along with her fellow cast members.

Wearing a bright orange two-piece co-ord by WOW Couture, Ms Reid wore her blonde hair back off her face.

She smiled warmly for the duration of her appearance, but some of her fans nonetheless voiced their concern on social media.

"It's so terribly sad….she has beautiful eyes, a beautiful face…she looks so painfully thin that it just ruins everything," one wrote, adding: "I'm sure her body is suffering inside and out (hair falling out, brittle nails, skin problems, etc etc). I just wish she could put weight on and be happy.

"All these Hollywood actresses starving to death for what???"

Another said: "Tara Reid is a walking, visible example of how Hollywood can f–k you up."

The actress shared snaps from the event on Instagram, and confirmed that she was 'having fun'.

She was joined on the yacht by the film's director Anthony Ferrante as well as co-stars actors Cody Linley, Masiela Lusha and Ryan Newman.

Since the release of the documentary Blackfish in 2012, SeaWorld have been faced with a massive amount of negative press.

As a result, the attempts of many to close the parks, or actually stop their breeding of the orcas which they hold in captivity have gathered huge support.

Recently, the California Coastal Commission voted that SeaWorld San Diego would be allowed to expand their orca tanks.

Project Blue World was being widely promoted by the SeaWorld organisation- despite the parks struggling to stay afloat as profits and attendance numbers dropped by 84 per cent.

While the project has been allowed, there are some serious conditions which will have to be followed.

SeaWorld San Diego will no longer be permitted to breed its 11 captive orcas.

The commission also provided strict limits on how much SeaWorld can transfer its existing 11 orcas in and out of the park.

SeaWorld will also not be allowed to sell, transfer or trade them. This would mean that these 11 captive orcas may very well be the last to live in tanks at SeaWorld San Diego.

Speaking to The Dodo, Jared Goodman of PETA said:

“The California Coastal Commission did right by orcas in requiring, as a condition of approval for the Blue World Project, that SeaWorld stop breeding them, which will ultimately end captivity for long-suffering orcas in California.”

He added that the strict laws enforced by the Commission mean that no more orcas will be “condemned to a non-life of loneliness, deprivation and misery.”

He also referred to SeaWorld as a circus and the orcas as its “abused elephants.”

John Reilly, president of SeaWorld San Diego has spoken out against the ruling by saying that “a ban on breeding would sentence these animals to a slow extinction in our care.”

SeaWorld continues to operate parks in both Orlando and San Antonio. Neither of these parks have been affected by the latest news but protestors of SeaWorld are hoping that could change very soon.

Held in the picturesque Italian costal town of Portofino last month, Georgia Salpa married businessman Joe Penna in a stunning ceremony

The 30-year-old Dublin model, who wore two gowns on her Big Day, took to Instagram following the ceremony to thank the couple's family and friends for what was evidently a truly magical day.

The bride and groom the morning after their Big Day

The bride and groom had opted to keep the ceremony and celebrations largely private, save for a sneak-peak of her second, evening-time dress which was published by SHEmazing! Guests also posted some beautiful shots of the venue and table arrangements.

However, thankfully for her many fans, Georgia's been a lot more open about her incredible honeymoon – an amazing-looking trip which brought the love-birds to San Diego for a few days and then on to Bora Bora for a ten-night break.

Indeed, we reckon the glorious snaps are the perfect pick-me-up to brighten up a Monday evening.

So without further ado, we bring you Georgia Salpa's incredible honeymoon diary – as told in her own pictures…

The duo evidently had lots of fun in the Californian city of San Diego. On their arrival they visited the world-famous zoo there, and also took a tour around the harbour area on Segways. Georgia, naturally, looked incredibly pretty in a navy playsuit.

Still, being on honeymoon is no excuse for missing your regular work-out sessions – for which Georgia is well-known. She went running while in San Diego, taking advantage of the gorgeous weather by going out in a brightly-coloured crop top and leggings.

At least working out means you can tuck into some serious treats, including cake. Ms Salpa made sure to buy a baked delight from a quirky cupcake ATM.

Her first snap from Bora Bora – a tropical Pacific Ocean island paradise which is part of French Polynesia – showed her sitting cross-legged on a wicker chair. She wore a casual straw hat and aviator sunglasses too.

Mr and Mrs Penna are certainly a health-conscious couple – and they made sure to get in the likes of bicycle rides while at their resort.

On other occasions, they mixed-up their keep-fit activities by going for a hike

To pass the time, they also played cards – though in Bora Bora the means propping up a table in the sea and playing while waist-deep in warm water.

Proving she's not a one-trick pony, Ms Salpa also showed off her incredible body in an amazing one-piece swimsuit, which she bought a vintage shop in San Diego.

Another shot also showed her walking up the beach in a beautiful, wide-brimmed sun hat and a neutral-colour swimsuit.

Home-time: all good things must come to an end, and Georgia – the new Mrs Penna – has now returned to Spain, where the couple is based. Congratulations, Georgia and Joe!
