Listen: Sandra Bullock’s terrifying 911 call played at stalker’s trial
One of the more chilling aspects of celebrity life came to light yesterday as the audio from a chilling 911 call made by Sandra Bullock was revealed as part of a court trial against her alleged stalker.
Sandra made the frantic police call last June from inside her house after coming face to face with a stalker in her hallway. She contacted police by phone from inside a locked closet in her bedroom.
In a police report, the actress told police that she had heard a loud banging from inside the house as she lay in bed and assumed it was caused by wind. As she got up to close her bedroom door, she came face-to-face with a man in her hallway dressed all in black. Sandra then slammed and locked the door as the man, later named as Joshua Corbett, ran upstairs into her attic.
The Miss Congeniality star had taken a shower before bed and feared Joshua had been in her house the entire time.
The tape was played yesterday as the preliminary hearing in Sandra's case against Corbett. It can be heard on the below CBS news report:
"Someone's broken into my house," Sandra can be heard telling the operator. "I'm hiding in the closet… I just saw them walk up into the attic… It was a man. I'm locked in my closet. I have a safe door in my bedroom. I've locked it and I'm locked in the closet right now."
A search of Corbett's house later revealed notebooks full of images of Sandra, one with the message "I will forever be thinking of you and Louie, my son, as you are my wife by law, the law of God and you belong to me and me to you." Louie is Sandra's 5-year-old son.
Such a scary incident – we hope the trial gives Sandra some peace of mind.
