Simon Cowell’s representatives have released a statement, in response to the claims surrounding his sexuality at Tulisa Contostavlos’ trial last week.
Last Thursday a recording of Tulisa’s personal assistant, Gareth Varey, had suggested that Cowell was gay.
And Simon of course, did not react well to this.
Cowell’s lawyers have released a statement on his behalf about the claims.
“Simon was referred to during the trial without forewarning, resulting in widespread media coverage of untrue claims regarding his private life. In 2014 the question of whether someone is or is not gay is antiquated. (As it happens he isn’t, though if he were, he would simply have said so). However, the issue was the false suggestion made by Mr Varey that Simon – who is renowned for his honesty and candidness – had thus not been truthful in the public arena and this is what we have been obliged to clarify.”

We knew Tulisa’s trial was going to be dramatic but we didn’t expect a public outing of her former boss, Simon Cowell.
The former X Factor judge, Tulisa is on trial after being accused of setting up a drug deal for an undercover journalist in the Sun.
As part of the trial, secret recordings were being played to the jurors which included one recorded conversation between Tulisa’s former manager and Gareth Varey and Mazher Mahmood.
Apparently Mahmood asked Gareth if Simon Cowell was gay to which he replied: “Yes”.
And if that wasn’t enough, Gareth said he hadn’t slept with the music mogul himself, but knew of people who had.
Hmmm, we wonder what Simon will say about this?
Nicole Scherzinger has made what sounds like another dig at The X Factor.
The singer was speaking to The Daily Mirror when she spoke about the reality TV show, saying: “I won’t be watching The X Factor.”
Realising what she said may be taken up wrong, Nicole backtracked, saying: “That’s not a dig against the X Factor – I just don’t watch television.”
Hmm, we’re not so sure, Nicole!
Meanwhile, the star has also said that she was hurt by Simon when he did not acknowledge the work she put into the job: “I was hurt by [the X Factor bosses] didn’t recognise the hard work I put into it. I never spoke to Simon and he never talked to me about it. I don’t know if he understood how hard I worked. I loved my job and I’m proud of the work I did on it.”
Poor Nicole, it sounds as if she may have wanted to make a comeback on this year’s show.
Simon Cowell is apparently eager to get Cheryl Cole’s French beau on board with a new business venture!
Simon is said to have hit it off with hottie Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini and has now roped him into a top secret TV project he has lined up.
Jean-Bernard is apparently fascinated by the entertainment business, and Simon thinks he has all the right qualities to make it big!
While Jean-Bernard’s expertise is in events promotion and hospitality, Simon is keen to get him involved in his…and Cheryl’s showbiz world.
We’re not sure how Cheryl feels about her boss hijacking her beau for business matters!

The text that Cheryl Cole sent to Simon after learning she had been fired by The X Factor US has been revealed!
Cheryl told Elle UK that she sent the music mogul a message that read: “F*** you, F*** Fox, F*** the orange and purple outfit. F*** the big hair. F*** the UK X Factor. F*** you all. I hate you.”
Er, wow! It looks as if Cheryl and Simon have worked out their differences now however, as Cheryl has officially returned to her seat on The X Factor judging panel.
Poor Cheryl, it looks as if she really went through a hard time after being let go from The X Factor US.
Cheryl also told the magazine that she felt as if her life had taken a turn for the worst, saying: “I thought I had every box ticked, career and personal. I was the first to get married. I was the one everyone thought would be the first to have a baby. And then the rug got pulled out from under me.”
One thing we never thought we would see Simon Cowell donning is the good old-fashioned party hat!
However, we underestimated his love for Cheryl Cole, and he wore one for her birthday celebrations that were held on a private plane, of course.
Cheryl uploaded the hilarious selfie to her Instagram account with the caption: “Birthday selfies on the way to Ediburgh. yes. That is Simon in a blue party hat #blame @officialmelb.”
Meanwhile, Simon tweeted a very cheeky message wishing the star a happy birthday: “Now what shall I get Cheryl for her birthday tomorrow? 40 is an important year.”
Ooh, Simon, we’re sure she was VERY impressed with that!
Eyebrows were raised when party-loving model Cara Delevingne excused herself from Glastonbury this year.
Apparently Cara’s BFFs Rita Ora and radio presenter Nick Grimshaw did everything to try to convince the model to come with them to the festival, but couldn’t twist her arm.
Instead of partying with pals, Cara had scheduled a meeting with music boss Simon Cowell at his London offices, to plot her own singing career!
But as Simon was caught up with the X Factor, he sent his right-hand-woman Sinitta to meet with Cara instead.
We’re thinking Cara should have gone to Glastonbury after all!
Working with a grumpy Simon Cowell must be hungry work!
So X Factor judge Cheryl took boss Simon to her favourite Chinese restaurant in Newcastle for a slap-up take-away on Thursday night, and by the size of those bags, the pair ordered everything on the menu!
Cheryl grew up in the local estate in Byker just around the corner from Kwok Pao restaurant, and got younger brother Garry Tweedy to call them up and put an order in.
But owner of the business Kevin Shek didn’t realise who the order was actually for and was shocked when a Mercedes pulled up outside his restaurant!
Kevin said the pair spent £82.50 in the restaurant. They ordered prawn meat on toast, chicken egg foo young and mixed vegetables in satay sauce, and Cheryl’s favourite dish – salt and chilli ribs.
Mmmmm…. now we’re definitely in the mood for a Chinese take-away tonight!
One Direction are probably the biggest band in the world right now and they have many people to thank for it, including Nicole Scherzinger.
But despite Nicola helping Simon form the band way back in their X Factor bootcamp days, the singer has now said that she thinks the band are too big to perform with her.
The singer admits that the boy’s global success is a bit strange to her now, especially since she was there for them at the beginning.
“It’s weird cause now I’m the one queuing up in the stores to buy their merchandise. I’m like: ‘Can I get a One Direction T-shirt?’”
Nicole was quizzed on whether she would like to collaborate with the 1D boys in the future, to which the singer quickly responded saying that the band was too big for her now.
“Oh no, I don’t think so. They’re too big for me now!”
Hmm, we’re not sure if the lads would agree with you there Nicole, we say they would love to collaborate with you!
