Her album was one of the fastest selling of 2014, and she has a legion of dedicated fans behind her, but that doesn’t seem to have been enough to save Sam Bailey’s record deal.

A representative for Simon Cowell’s record label Syco, to which Sam signed after her X Factor triumph, confirmed today that the singer's deal has unfortunately not been renewed.

To add insult to injury, the statement could not have been any more blunt, with the rep simply saying: “Sam Bailey is no longer with Syco.”

It appears that poor Sam has fallen victim to the old X Factor curse, with a source revealing that Simon made his decision based on the ‘short shelf life’ and appeal of the reality show’s contestants.

The source told The Sun: “Music is a tough business. Simon realises most X Factor winners have a short shelf life.”

The news doesn’t seem to have discouraged Sam from continuing on her dream, and the 37-year-old told the newspaper that she was excited at the possibilities that lay ahead of her.

“I’m really grateful for everything X Factor has done for me. I’m going straight into a studio to write after the tour. I would also maybe like to get into acting and I would love to do Strictly Come Dancing,” she said.

We wish her all the best!

As one of the most powerful men in the music industry, we wouldn’t want to mess with Simon Cowell.

Apparently, though, there are many who have done, and they can expect to be part of a major exposé that he is planning for next year.

Yes, the X Factor mogul has revealed that he is planning to write a tell-all book that will expose some of the nastier contestants for what they truly are.

The 55-year-old star told The Mirror: “I am writing one. I would write it myself, but I would work with someone. You’ve got to have someone, because someone has to do the research, but it would be my book.”

In a revelation that is sure to send chills down many X Factor contestants’ spines, Simon also threatened to tell all about the ‘monsters’ he has encountered during his time on the show.

“As someone has already hinted, by the final stage of the competition, monsters do emerge. We have had our fair share. That goes in the next book,” he said.

Who on earth could he be talking about?!

Sharon Osbourne may have made TV history yesterday as she lost a tooth live on air – eek!

The TV personality was co-hosting The Talk when her implant became loose and she was forced to give it a helping hand until it came out. Sharon was none too happy as she exclaimed: “I spent a bloody fortune!” Oh Sharon, always so honest!

After a commercial break, the star had located some glue and stuck her tooth back in…but had also accidentally stuck her lip to her gums.

Never a dull moment with those Osbourne girls!

Former X Factor contestant Katie Waissel has been talking about Cheryl Fernandez-Versini again, and she still has nothing nice to say!

Katie hit headlines when she took to the stage at Sunday’s X Factor final – only weeks after calling Cheryl “disgusting”. She was see mouthing the words ‘you owe me’ to Simon and later hinted on Twitter that she may be taking a judges’ seat next year

Now, Katie has slammed Cheryl again in her new! column, saying she wasn’t all there on Sunday, writing: “Cheryl was absolutely NOWHERE to be seen! I’m surprised she even made it out to the chairs … She needs to lighten up, for her sake! If she doesn’t want to be there and take part, then I suggest she slowly slip away. People see thorough bullsh**.”

Hmm, we think if there is a chance of Katie taking a seat on next year’s panel, she may want to lay off giving out about Simon’s muse for a while! It certainly won’t do her any favours.

Lily Allen may be known for her quick wit and is never one to shy away from confrontation but we think she may have met her match this time!

The singer had complained on Twitter about the fact that Mark Ronson’s hit Uptown Funk was performed on The X Factor ahead of its official release.

Lily tweeted asking: "Is this even out yet?" before claiming it was an example of music corruption, comments which have largely been removed from her Twitter account now.

Simon has now hit back at the singer and gone for a particularly low blow – admitting that Lily had wanted to be a judge on the show: “The irony is I spoke to Lily about being a judge. And from what I took from the meeting, she was seriously considering it. Thank God I said no. She’d be a barrel of laughs.”

Shut. Down. We reckon Lily will find it hard to stay silent on THAT diss! That said, we would have loved to have seen Lily on The X Factor – maybe next year?!

If you thought things were dramatic on I’m A Celebrity this year, spare a thought for the ITV show’s neighbour, The X Factor.

In the latest scandal to rock the show, this year’s finalists have reportedly expressed their anger against Simon Cowell and his fellow judges over their favouritism of Fleur East.

According to the Daily Star, finalists Andrea Faustini, Lauren Platt and Ben Haenow are convinced that the judges’ clear partiality towards Fleur has ensured her win on this year’s show.

A source told the newspaper: “It’s beginning to look obvious the judges want her to win. It may as well be called ‘The F Factor’ – it’s very unfair. It’s been set up perfectly for Fleur to win.”

Fleur has received standing ovations and glowing reports from the judges so far, with her powerful vocals and funky image impressing at every stage.

While it is no doubt a tense time for the finalists, we’re sure the most worthy act will walk away with the title!

Simon Cowell has blasted previous contestants of The X Factor as being fame-hungry.

The judge is seemingly sick of people using the competition as a way of gaining fame through any means possible: “There are people who come on this show who just want fame. They’ll do anything afterwards because that’s why they’ve entered The X Factor.

Hmm, we wonder if Simon was referring to a certain Jake Quickenden, who entered the I’m A Celebrity jungle not long after his elimination from the singing competition…

He also defended contestants in the competition that are serious about music, such as Fleur East and Ben Haenow, saying they are genuine about making it in the music industry.

Simon also spoke about how he has enjoyed doing the show this season and says he hopes to expand the X Factor reach for new talent: “I still think we’re not looking everywhere for talent so I’m going to increase how we reach out next year, may take mobile units around the country. I want the net wider.”

Wow – it sounds as if The X Factor isn’t going anywhere for a long time yet!

It’s bad news for Chery Fernandez-Versini and her fans today, as it has been reported that the star is most likely set to miss tonight’s instalment of X Factor.

According to reports, the judge is currently suffering from a highly contagious throat infection that could see her miss out on this weekend’s shows.

While bosses hoped that Cheryl would be able to struggle through, it is believed that her condition has worsened in the past 24 hours.

This will no doubt come as disappointing news to 17-year-old Lauren Platt, Cheryl’s last remaining act on the talent show.

The news comes just days after Simon Cowell revealed that he’s uncertain as to who will be returning to the X Factor judging panel next year.

The music mogul told The Sun: “One thing I say to all these judges now is that it’s only important to come back if you want to come back for the right reasons, which is you want to find stars, you want to mentor people.”

He added: “Yes, the money is always a factor. But Cheryl’s got a lot of money. So has Mel, and she has been after this job for five years.”

We’ll have to watch this space, we guess!

X Factor boss Simon Cowell knows his stuff when it comes to reality TV, so we're happy to take his predictions on board for this year's show.

When asked what three contestants he would tip for the final three, Simon chose only two out of his own remaining acts – and one of Mel B's.

With just four weeks left til the final, the music mogul said he reckoned Ben Haenow, Fleur East and Mel's contestant Andrea Faustini were all likely to stick around on the show 'til the end.

He did leave out his third act, poor Stevi Ritchie, but it was hardly a surprise given that Simon voted against him in the last-minute choice between Stevi and Jay James on Sunday.

"I really really like both of you. Jay you’re the better singer, Stevi you’re the better performer," said Simon in Sunday's results show. "I hate to say this, but I’m sending home Stevi."

In the end Jay was knocked out by the public vote, with Stevi safe for another week. Kinda awkward, no?!

Whatever about Simon's predictions, whoever wins this year will have a tough time battling against Band Aid 30 for the Christmas number one spot.

The Do They Know It's Christmas? re-make was introduced on the X Factor results show last Sunday, so it already has a few week's head start. However Simon says it really doesn't matter to him who makes the top spot. "It doesn't bother me. If anything's going to be [number one] let it be a charity single."

We wonder if he's quite so calm on the inside!

Poor Louis Walsh always seems to have Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole ganging up on him – and last night just about proves it!

When Louis’ band, Stereo Kicks came out to perform, the judge was accused by Simon and the other judges of not knowing their names.

Striving to prove the others wrong, Louis begins to list the lads by name – only to be caught out with a piece of paper with their names on it!

Oh Louis…he certainly doesn't do himself any favours!

To make matters even MORE awkward, Simon then demanded he give him the piece of paper and even got up off his seat, walked over, wrestled it off poor mortified Louis and showed it to the camera.

Thankfully, Dermot O’Leary intervened before Simon forced Louis to read out the names without a helping hand…

However, all things aside, we LOVED the boys performance – they killed Big Bands Week! Here they are in action:

We sure hope some of the more cringe bits of the show are scripted.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini had something of a temper tantrum on last night’s X Factor as she came to blows with Simon Cowell.

The singer critiqued Simon’s act Jay James and his rendition of Adele’s Skyfall, saying she didn’t “feel” it.

When Simon retaliated saying it’s not an acting competition, Cheryl did not take it too kindly and it all got a bit awkward…

Dermot O'Leary tried to smooth things over, apologising to Jay about Cheryl and Simon's fighting, saying: "Sorry you have to hear the grown-ups rowing like that."

Things got even weirder later in the show when Cheryl demanded Louis Walsh swap seats with her.

Later on, the Girls Aloud star shared a photo on Instagram of Simon with his hands around her nek, looking very happy indeed!
