It's never too early to start protecting our skin from ageing.

Our skin undergoes a lot during the day, from taking on pollution to battling the elements – so, giving it a helping hand is essential to keeping the wrinkles at bay.

We can't reverse ageing, but by God, we will do everything in our power to slow it down.

That's why we are oh-so grateful to Vichy.

These beauts have gone and changed the anti-ageing skincare game, so we can hold off on the botox.

Vichy has just launched their new LiftActiv collection.

The line is inspired by the power of nature and uses unique, cutting edge technology to stimulate the skin to naturally replenish.

Included in the stunning range is a market first, Vichy's Micro Hyalu Patches. – And we are betting they'll become your very best friend.

The patches sit under the eye, and use 160 micro-cones to penetrate the skin and release the much sought after skincare GOD: hyaluronic acid.

Say goodbye to tired, sunken under eyes; it tightens the area and give us the quick results we all desire, without the pain of a needle.

It's ideal if you've got a big event coming up, such as a wedding, and you need an SOS (Save Our Skin).

They also super handy for the busy gals, as you stick them on before you go asleep, they won't budge, wake up and voila – replenished beautiful skin.

Skin expert, Dr Katherine Mulrooney, recommended using Vichy's Mineral 89 after removing the patches, as it's gentle and caring to the skin.

Then put on the LiftActiv Collagen Specialist Day cream – which will help to stimulate the cells responsible for collagen production.

It's infused with agave and smells sensational, and the bio-peptides within the cream are the hard workers which boosts the natural proteins in the skin.

And, if you suffer from pigment issues, this cream has Vitamin CG which helps to even out skin tone.

Vichy has also created a divine Sunday night skincare mask.

It gives your skin the protection from the signs of ageing, and is the perfect way to re-boost and prep your skin to take on Monday, and the rest of the week.

If you're in the market to stop the signs of ageing but you're not ready to commit to a needle, then Vichy's LifeActiv is the perfect collection for you.

As we salute summer and August goodbye, it's time to get your September skincare in order.

The change in the season signals the start of a new skincare routine to tackle the autumn and winter weather.

Searching high and low, we sussed out the essentials, from scrubs to skin protectors – to keep your skin in tip-top shape for the second half of the year.

A post shared by Yon-Ka Ireland (@yonka_ireland) on

1. Scrubs

Kicking off our lust list is a hot deal, so you'll need to act fast.

For the month of August, Yonka Paris is spoiling us with 20 percent off their SPF's Guarana scrub.

The Yonka Guarana Scrub is a triple action exfoliator that purifies, polishes, and invigorates all skin types, while gently cleansing and unclogging pores using micro-beads.

On the other hand, if you'd like to start your day with some elegance, Lancôme's Rose Sugar Scrub warms and soothes the skin. The mask is enriched with sugar grains, that instantly melts on the skin for a delicate exfoliation to kick off the day, the right way.

2. Problem skin

Sticking with the morning, and there's nothing more annoying than waking up to a breakout – cue the angry mirror hatred.

Fear not, as the wonderful people from Dermalogica have heard our early morning cries.

They have developed god sends; a Breakout Clearing Booster and a Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask to banish and tame that unruly skin. The Clear-Start fast-acting booster helps to kill breakout-causing bacteria for rapid skin clearing.

Dermalogica's Clear Start Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask NEEDS to be your secret weapon in the battle against blackheads.

Use it two to three times a week and watch the skin intruders fizz away as it opens pores and decongests skin. Both of these skin heroes are vegan and cruelty-free.

3. Your daily skin protectors

Lancôme's Hydration Zen Jelly Mask is the perfect product to de-stress and rehydrate tired skin. It's infused with peony extract and rose water, and is ideal for sensitive skin.

Additionally, you'll need to protect your face from ageing by incorporating Uriage's multi-action cream. The multi-action cream and eye contour protects your skin from daily aggressions such as blue light, UV rays, pollution and fatigue.

4. Make-up removers

Before you get some shut-eye, removing your make-up is a must. – I see all you skin sinners who sleep in their make-up.

Lancôme's Eau Milcellaire Confort will hydrate and soothe the skin as it takes off your make-up and removes impurities.

We are also lusting after Bioderma’s Sensibio H2O Limited-Edition pump bottle which is FINALLY returning to shelves this September.

You're in safe hands with Sensibio H2O, as it's the first dermatological micellar water and alcohol-free.

However, don't underestimate it as it's powerful enough to remove even waterproof make-up whilst being kind to skin.

5. September suncream

Contrary to popular belief, winter sun can impact our skin, and it is important you wear suncream even in the winter months.

Yonka's range of suncreams come in moderate, high and medium protection – so you're protected no matter where your day leads you.

A post shared by Electric Picnic (@epfestival) on

For all those going to Electric Picnic this year, (I hope you can feel the envy through the screen), we have a suncream that you can't leave home without.

It's suppose to be a cracker of a weekend, and you’ll need high-performing sun protection that won’t let you down.

P20’s Continuous Spray is essential EP product; offering 10 hours of protection, you can hop from music act to music act without worry.

For other essential EP goodies, check out this article.

Now you have no excuse to allow your skin to suffer this September. We've done all the hard work and given you the essentials that we are lusting after.

Thank us later when everyone is complimenting your skin.

We all love a good aul bargain. Especially when it's a beauty bargain.

Like, with a customised facial costing up to €150 at a Dublin spa, and a vampire facial costing €450 in some places, it's expensive trying to keep our skin nice and supple.

To combat this and inject some everyday luxury into beauty routines, Dealz has today launched its own skincare range, #6.

"Everyone wants to look good for less, and we spent a long time ironing out the wrinkles to develop a fantastic skincare range to fit all budgets," Holly Mobley, Dealz Head of Glamour, said.

"We set out to challenge expectations, we want customers to feel like they are buying a bit of luxury without breaking the bank and are confident #6 hits the mark for beauty addicts and skincare novices alike."

Described as the perfect number for your skin and tipped to rival household name beauty brands, #6 is a complete six-piece skincare range.

The range features "premium quality products in luxurious packaging that will take pride of place in beauty collections for a fraction of the price".

From anti-ageing day cream to collagen filler, the products contain ingredients such as ceramide, vitamins A & E, sweet almond oil and algae extract, with gentle formulations suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.

The full #6 range is available in Dealz stores nationwide from today, with all products in the range for just €1.50.

After a long winter, we are FINALLY seeing some summer sunshine.

However, the change in weather can leave our skin looking a little bit dull.

Fear not! Your summer skin boost is here and we LOVE it.

Perfect for mature and sensitive skin, it will have you smiling all summer long without worrying about those smile lines.

This new product, No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum, aims to enhance your natural beauty, which includes those all-important facial expressions.

According to research by the No7 labs, you’re more likely to be considered more beautiful by more people, regardless of your age or background by having a naturally expressive face.

Half of the 1,000 women who were studied found that you’re perceived as sexier when you get au naturel with your expressions.

To give you even more excuses to smile, the study showed faces that were smiling were perceived to be three times more vibrant than those showing a neutral or unhappy look.

This special serum is uniquely designed to target those stubborn lines areas, such as around the lip area and forehead. The product works in coordination with your natural beauty, so you don’t have to compromise on your expressions, frown away ladies!!

The reason why we and other women are so obsessed with the Line Correcting Booster Serum it gets the results without the pain of an injection.

Interestingly, researchers found a small sample size of women who were considering Botox, after trialling the product for two months, more than three-quarters of them said the serum gave them better results than they thought possible from skincare. Another 73 percent said they were less likely to consider Botox in the future.

Of those that had already had Botox, a whopping 80 percent of women said the serum gave them better results than they thought possible from skincare and 73 percent said they would delay their next treatment.

You can pick up the serum here, Boots currently have 3 for 2 offer on selected skincare, with the cheapest free.

Nothing brings us more joy than the launch of a new cosmetic range – especially when the packaging is divine (real talk).

That is exactly why we are basically giddy about the new range of products by Shiseido, inspired by the wonderful world of Millennials.

WASO is the new range, which has been crafted with authenticity at its core.

Through the launch of their new range, Shiseido is redefining beauty by empowering Millennials to feel beautiful in their own skin – whatever their gender, nationality or age.

Now that is a message we can get down with!

The message is simple: true beauty defies stereotypes.

WASO is more than just a skin care line for Millennials, it is a campaign that champions beauty from the inside-out.

By now, you're probably wondering what exactly the word WASO means – a fair question.

The name WASO is drenched in authentic Japanese heritage. It originates from a combination of two words, "WA" meaning a Japanese sense of peace, and "SO" meaning inspiration, idea and thoughtfulness.

The best part? Every element of the product's formula uses safe ingredients based on Shisedo's unique standards.

The brand designed a special method for formulating whole botanical cells into the WASO range, to deliver a total skin care solution.

This basically means that the range has been designed to treat the needs of Millenial skin, focusing on dryness, oiliness and visible pores.

WASO is available for purchase right now, and we're stocking up!

When it comes to wedding day preparation, there's no denying that certain things tend to take centre-stage in any discussion surrounding the run-up to a woman's big day; dress, venue, honeymoon.

But these elements are, as most of us know, only scratching the surface.

While the gown, the destination and the post-nuptial holiday are certainly heavy-hitters, most brides-to-be will assert that some of their biggest concerns in the lead-up to their big day are their health, vitality, wellbeing and appearance.

With the sheer amount of time and effort that goes into organising a wedding, it's no surprise that many women begin to feel the strain, and subsequently worry that their efforts will take their toll physically.

And that, ladies, is where Jennifer Rock – AKA The Skin Nerd –  comes in.

Every bride dreams of having glowing, flawless skin on their big day, and Jennifer is on hand with top tips for achieving  bright, radiant, iridescent, dewy and luminous bridal skin.

1. Prep is key

While considering the dress of your dreams, psyche yourself up for the skin regime at the same time.

Many wait until six weeks prior to their wedding and it may not be enough time to tackle any true concerns, so seek a consult as soon as the engagement party is over!

2. Take your vitamins

Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful – a wonderfully exciting time no doubt, but still a busy time so be sure to up the multi vitamin intake, horse vitamin C into you.

Take 1,000mg daily to ward off colds while also strengthening capillary walls – bearing in mind red is the first colour to be seen on camera! I’d also recommend taking lysine to prevent cold sores!

3. Plump your skin

Hyaluronic is ideal to pump moisture into the skin and act as an added bonus to the two litre of water intake!

It can be added to any serum, booster or moisturiser to soften fine lines and wrinkles – a touch into a body cream is also recommended for smooth hydrated skin. This will assist in getting that flawless false tan application!

4. School yourself on fatty acids

Take omegas internally ie essential fatty acids in the form of supplements or oily fish.

These will have your body both wedding and honeymoon ready – helping to keep it soft with less inflammation and stress breakouts.

5. Treat yourself

Environ Hydra Boost is ideal to give the bridal glow, IPL and Neostrata Peel 3 months prior, needling 6 months prior do NOT try anything new the month of the wedding unless advised by a facialist.

We were told our oily skin would go away once we were out of the teenage years, then 19 turned to 20, 20 turned into 25 and we still can't eat a packet of crisps without our skin harking back to our teenage years.

We are told it would benefit us in the long run, that oily skin has better elasticity so is less prone to wrinkles. While this may be true, it doesn’t stop us getting annoyed when we have to carry blotting paper in our purses.

While avoiding alcohol or abstaining from dairy may seem a bit unrealistic (umm hello? Cheese?), there are some more doable things that can help improve your skin.

1. Water, water, water

You’ve heard it time and time again, but it can’t be said enough.

Drink as much water as possible. It may seem like a chore, but once you get into a habit of it, it’ll be second nature.

A handy tip to trick yourself into drinking more water is to get a reusable water bottle with a straw. You drink more without noticing and it’ll save you money. It’s a win-win.

2. Find the right moisturiser

You may think your skin is bad enough without putting more greasy stuff on it, but even oily skin gets dry, flaky bits. It’s a vicious circle, we don't moisturise and get dry skin then we moisturise it and we get spots.

Finding the right moisturiser is key to stopping this. Skin is a temperamental thing so it’s really trial and error when it comes to finding the perfect one for you.

An oil- free, matifying moisturiser is the best way to go. It’ll cost more than your mam’s Nivea, but you’ll only need to use a small amount so it lasts ages.

3. Don’t overdo it

With oily skin, it can feel dirty so there's an urge to clean it every possible chance you get. This isn’t a good idea, your skin needs oil, even if you don’t like it.

Removing the oil too often will just make your skin produce even more and the problem will only get worse.

Keep exfoliating and using deep cleansing face washes or masks every second day and use a light cleanser daily.

4. Timing is everything

Timing is just as important as the product you use.

Try not to moisturise just before bed. Your body temperature rises when you sleep and moisturiser mixed with sweat will clog your pores.

Moisturising in the morning makes it more effective. The same goes for using greasy lip balms. They stay in place during the day, but at night they will spread and clog the pores around your lips.

5. Don’t get disheartened

Finally, don’t get disheartened if you improve your skin care routine, but seem to be getting more spots.

It takes time for your skin to rid itself of deep impurities, so they may have to come to the surface before they can be eradicated.

It also takes time to perfect a skin care routine that suits your skin, so be patient and you will find the perfect balance.

We're all about a spot of treat yo'self pampering here at SHEmazing! You, your mates – lounging around in fluffy white robes being soothed by dolphin-enfused holistic music.

After all, every so often wonderful ladies deserve wonderful spa-day treats.

It's just a pity that actually getting a date in the diary that suits everyone is a major pickle AND these things tend to be pretty pricy.

Step forward our new favourite compromise: the Yon-Ka skincare range. Already in more than 5,000 spas globally, the French-made products are created with plants, fruits, and marine extracts and are designed to balance, soothe, revive and rejuvenate.

The fruit acids moisturise and enhance the complexion, vitamins combat free radicals, seaweed re-mineralises and plant oils nourish and soften.

To which we say: “YEEEESSSSSS!”

Some standouts? The award-winning Yon-Ka lotion and the Yon-Ka Nutri protect hand cream.

The brand also boosts some well known Irish names and faces among its fan-base: think Chloe Townsend, Holly White, Ruth Monahan, and Pamela Flood.

At-home, luxurious spa-spiration? Hurrah!

From time to time we have all been tempted by the latest and greatest round of DIY skincare trends that appear to take over the internet.

Unfortunately, they don’t always give us the results we expected, and wanted.

Apparently, some of the most common tips relating to skincare to be found online are actually myths, and we should maybe not always be using social media as a dermatologist.

1. Treating blackheads with lemon juice is a bad idea.

Dermatologists warn that citrus juice is more irritating than it is helpful, and when exposed to sunlight it can burn, badly.

2. You probably shouldn’t be using a toner.

It leaves your skin dry and irritated when used all over, spot treatments are the way to go when it comes to toner.

3. Chocolate isn’t causing your acne.

There may be a relationship between diet and acne. But it is mostly dairy products and low-quality carbohydrates that are responsible so dark chocolate fans are safe.

4. Toothpaste isn’t the best way to get rid of a spot.

Baking soda can apparently help, but it is not included in all toothpaste and it still doesn’t mean you should be covering your face in it.

5. Coconut oil is not going to reduce age spots or wrinkles either apparently.

We thought it was a miracle product! It seems that some dermatologists are warning that while it does work as a great moisturiser, it won’t reduce the signs of age spots or sun damage.

6. Egg whites aren’t actually going to shrink your pores.

7. You should never, ever use hand sanitizer on your face to tone down oily skin.

We could have guessed that one.

8. The SPF in your makeup (or moisturizer) might not provide enough protection.

The experts say you broad spectrum coverage with at least 30 SPF.
