Kim Kardashian might reign supreme when it comes to Instagram followers, but there's one area where she hasn't been able to win out over her little sisters – Snapchat.

Kylie and Kendall are currently the only Kardashian-Jenner siblings using the photo and video sharing app – in fact, Kylie's been so influential that she's even been awarded her own personalised crown emoji next to her name.

Now though, it seems their big sister Kim is ready to get down with the kids and start a Snapchat account of her own.

The mum-of-two made an appearance on DJ Khaled's account last night – which has previously featured everyone from Taylor Swift to Kendall Jenner herself – and indicated her own Snapchat wasn't far off.

Salute my sis @kimkardashian bless up ! #wethebest

Khaled used his signature line "they don't want you" to praise Kim for her style, her app and being "the biggest boss in the game," before captioning the snap "Kim Snapchat soon come."

Kim herself took to Twitter last night to ask her fans if they thought she should set up an account – something which we're taking as a sign it's probably already well on the way.

Watch this space, people.

Snapchat has been making a lot of changes recently and the latest additional feature is Story Explorer

Story Explorer will provide users with various aspects of the same story, which is something social media apps are becoming increasingly interested in – just look at the popularity of Twitter Moments.

So, this means if you're looking at a public Snapchat story that you're really interested in, you can just swipe to get more snaps on the same subject.

Here's a video to explain the deadly new feature:

While we love our cosy jumpers and knitted hats, the recent weather has brought us all down a tad and made us wish it was spring or summer again.

Well, that's how Penneys made us feel with its latest Snapchat posts. The clothing store snapped all of its fab upcoming pieces that will be available next year, and we have to say, we're in love.

From very slick and sophisticated suits, to flower-power cushions and AH-MAZING accessories, Penneys will certainly be the place to go next spring (as always!).

Sunnies heaven right here – now all we need is the sun:

We already have our eyes on a few key pieces but what we're really loving this time around is the homewares range.

Comfy cushions, colourful blankets and adorable mugs… our houses will look better than we will next year.

The cushion above is a must-have for every women's bedroom, right?

Nobody can turn down a little bit of inspiration every morning!

We cannot WAIT for this stuff to hit stores.

The latest in social media news is something we honestly don’t know how we feel about.

It seems that every new app is just trying to beat the ones that came before it, and now Facebook has decided to tackle some of the newcomers. While Snapchat might not seem like such a fresh face (especially with all those bizarre filters) there are some aspects to the app that Facebook are keen to adopt.

The latest development will see Facebook imitating Snapchat’s disappearing message function.

The company are testing out a new feature which can delete messages an hour after they are sent. According to The Independent:

"If the feature is available, users will see a small egg-timer pop up in the top-right of their messages, next to the information button."

"Pressing that turns it on, and will mean that anything that gets sent will self-destruct, then it can be turned back off in the same way.'

Snapchat is becoming one of the most powerful forces in social media so it’s no wonder Facebook are trying to introduce this new feature.

The app is a firm favourite for selfies lovers around the world. With close to 100 million users, according to Fortune, we’re not all that surprised that Facebook is attempting to recreate one Snapchat’s most famous features.

At the moment, Facebook is testing the newest update in France and all going well it would be set to be introduced in other countries in the not too distant future.

Snapchat is fast becoming one of the most used (and loved) social networks, and has countless celebrity accounts.

But something the app doesn't have is an effective search feature for finding the famous names you want to follow, let alone a method for marking them as verified, which means we usually have to scroll through countless accounts to find the right one.

But not anymore, as SC has finally taken a step to change this.

Now, you won't see any Facebook/Twitter/Instagram-esque blue ticks next to celeb usernames, instead the social app is rolling out a new feature they're calling, Official Stories (We're still a little unsure as to whether the account is what's official or if it's just the story??).

As some of you may have noticed while scrolling through your Stories feed, a little emoji now appears next to the username of some of the app's most popular stars.

For example, Kylie Jenner is marked with a

Snapchat was voted as the happiest social network of them all, and it's not hard to see why.

But now we can love it even more as the app's journey towards world domination just took another major step forward. And backward, for that matter.

After a whole bunch of new filters were introduced recently, users can now play with a new batch of filters called Speed Modifiers.

And it's actually pretty simple to use: Fast-forward will let you play your videos faster, rewind will play your videos at the same speed but in reverse, and slow-motion will, well, you know where we're going here.

Up until now, Snapchat only let users alter their snaps by sticking something on top of the snap. This new update marks the first time users can alter the content itself.

This means it's time to start elevating your snaps beyond the daily trivia we're used to seeing, and into the world of high art. Time to start snapping!

In this day and age, we LOVE our social networks, but one of them trumps all others.

In a new study published in the journal Information, Communication & Society, has found that Snapchat makes people happier than any other social network.

Researchers from the University of Michigan enlisted 154 college students who used smartphones and texted them six times a day over a two-week period.

When the students received the text, they had to answer a survey about their latest social interactions – like who they were with, how supportive they were and how they felt at that moment.

The researchers found that when participants had Snapchat interactions, they felt more positive emotions than when they had Facebook interactions.

They also found that the students paid more attention to Snapchat messages.

The reason might be because people don't feel as insecure about how to present themselves on Snapchat, since the images disappear in a couple of seconds.

But in general, the participants found that Snapchat is similar to face-to-face interactions with a friend, since the messages come day-to-day and not recorded for anyone else to see.

You post up an ill-advised status on Facebook or Twitter. Or maybe that late-night Snapchat or Instagram share was not-so smart the morning after the night before.

So you delete it and move on – vowing to stay off social media platforms when you’re feeling similarly ‘tired and emotional’.

However, once something goes up online – can it ever truly be erased? Well, the answer is somewhat worrying.

“Whether or not something is deleted isn’t within the user’s control,” says Behnam Dayanim, a Washington, DC-based lawyer who specialises in privacy and cyber security.

Take a regular email. When you delete it from your inbox, it goes to a “deleted items” folder. Empty that folder and you permanently kill the message – or does it?

Not necessarily, adds Mr Dayanim in conversation with menshealth.com, because it could still stick around on your email provider’s servers for an indefinite amount of time.

You can’t really get around this either, since you give these companies explicit permission to hold on to your data when you agree to their vague privacy policies.

So what exactly do social media sites hold onto?

1) Facebook

The social network stores data for “as long as necessary to provide products and services to you and others”.

2) Gmail

After you delete an email, Gmail “may not immediately delete residual copies from our active servers”.

3) Twitter

Twitter doesn’t comment on what it does when you delete a Tweet, but says that “search engines and other third parties may still retain copies of your public information, like your user profile information and public Tweets, even after you have deleted the information from the Twitter Services or deactivated your account.”

4) Snapchat

When you view a snap, it’s automatically deleted from the company’s servers… in “most cases”. Snapchat “can’t guarantee that the messages will be deleted within a specific timeframe” and says your snap “may remain in backup for a limited period of time.”

5) Instagram

The photo app may retain information for “a commercially reasonable time for backup, archival, and/or audit purposes.”

If you’re more than a little freaked out by this, Cyberdust (free for iOS, Android, and Windows platforms) will ease some of your paranoia.

The app claims to permanently wipe every message you send within 100 seconds of recipients reading it – even from company servers.

Otherwise, these tales of online woe might serve as deterrents too:

1) In 2013, PR consultant Justine Sacco Tweeted a tasteless joke: ‘Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white!’ By the time she got off her 11-hour flight, thousands of angry people had responded to the Tweet, and the hashtag #HasJustineLandedYet was trending worldwide.

Shortly after the gaffe, Sacco lost her job. She’s the subject of Jon Ronson’s recent book, So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed.

2) Earlier this year, Rory Cullinan, former chairman of the Royal Bank Of Scotland, was fired from his position after his daughter posted screenshots of their private Snapchat messages to her Instagram account. Cullinan sent snaps from his office, with captions like “Another friggin meeting.” Seems innocent enough, but weeks later, Cullinan was canned.

3) When a Buckingham Palace guard posted commented about Kate Middleton on his Facebook page, calling her a “posh bitch” and “stupid stuck-up cow,” he was relieved him of his duties guarding the Royal Wedding in 2011.

4) In 2014, James Franco messaged a 17-year-old on Instagram, asking if she was single and wanted to meet up. The girl asked for proof that it was Franco, which the actor provided, and then posted screenshots of the exchange on Imgur

Franco copped to the exchange, but landed a seedy reputation for chatting up teens.

5) Amy Pascal, one of Hollywood’s most powerful executives, recently stepped down from her role as head of Sony’s movie division after hackers released private emails between her and other producers late last year. In her messages, Pascal made racially insensitive comments about Barack Obama and insulted celebrities like Angelina Jolie.

So ultimately, it’s probably best to ask yourself a few key questions every time you’re about to send something out, namely: Will this get me fired? Will it keep me from landing a job in the future? Will it hurt someone?

If your status, photo, or text can’t pass the test, it probably isn’t worth posting.

Tyga, and girlfriend Kylie Jenner, are huge Snapchat fans.

The pair use the social media app to give their fans and followers, over 30 million combined, and insight into their daily lives. Also, they enjoy showing us their fancy new cars from time to time.

Rapper Tyga often includes his son, King Cairo who is 3-years old , in his Snapchat videos and Instagram posts.

However, TMZ have claimed that in his latest video (which was then deleted) Tyga appears to have left King playing in his living room next to what they say looks suspiciously like drugs.

The toddler is seen dancing and playing in the video, wearing a very cute green cap, but on the table next to him sits what the site are calling a “green pile”.

The packet of rolling papers also seen in the video appear to be what are leading some tabloids to suggesting Tyga allowed his son to play in close proximity to a pile of marijuana.

When TMZ approached the rapper’s lawyer for comment, there was no response. However. They highlight that shortly after they made the call, the video was removed from his Snap story.

Blac Chyna, King’s mom, and Tyga have been in an on-going custody battle since they split. Something which Tyga’s relationship with 18-year old Kylie Jenner has supposedly been fuelled by.

The reality TV star has recently been spotted out and about with her model sister Kendall in NYC as they stepped out on the red carpet for the launch of the highly-anticipated Balmain X H&M launch.

Is there anything in the world that brings more joy than scaring someone who's really jumpy?

We think not. That's why we were in stitches today watching this compilation by Irish Snapchat king James Kavanagh, who gets intense pleasure from scaring his boyfriend William on a daily basis.

#ScaringWilliam – LE FILM

Scaring my boyfriend gives me great pleasure.

Posted by James Kavanagh on Sunday, 11 October 2015

James has put some of William's best moments together in this two-minute clip, aptly titled Scaring William: LE FILM.

"He's hilariously jumpy," James told the Irish Independent of his boyfriend. If we were William we'd definitely have chopped off a few fingers by now – being scared with a knife in your hand is no joke.

James has become something of a self-made star through his Snapchat videos, which get thousands of views a day.

As well as jumpy William, the videos also feature lots of advice on how to combat basic bitches (a daily struggle, tbh).

And of course wise words like these on how to deal with annoying taxi drivers:

If you don't already follow Mr. Kavanagh (@JamesKava) on Snapchat, you need to make it happen. Like, now.

One of our favourite people in the WORLD has joined Snapchat!

Ed Sheeran took to his Instagram account last night to share the news that he is now using the social media site.

He posted a picture of his Snapcode along with the caption, "Take a picture of this on snapchat and it lets you follow me. How exciting".

If the code isn't working for you, you can add Ed by his username: teddysdaytoday.

If his IG and Twitter accounts are anything to go by, we reckon he will be sharing some very cool pictures, full of funny quotes and backstage shenanigans.

The IG photo already has 95,000 likes, so we're guessing Ed's Snapchat has probably crashed by now but we're really looking forward to seeing what his first snap will be!

If it's anything like this one, we'll be quite happy.

For months she was seen at high-profile events sporting an array of eye-catching wigs in black, blonde and even blue.

Kylie Jenner later admitted the reason behind her love of artificial hair: her own tresses were seriously damaged after years of dyeing, styling and straightening.

However, the sacrifice seemingly paid off – and she marked her recent 18th birthday by swapping to a gorgeous ashy blonde.

"It took months of not dyeing my hair and wearing wigs to get my hair back to health so I can do this!!" she explained on Instagram while unveiling her new look.

So why is Ms Jenner, and just two weeks after the dramatic change, now back to wearing wigs?

Donning bright green, mermaid-style locks, she was on hand to launch the Sugar Factory American Brasserie in NYC – to which she also wore a stunning ivory crop top and matching pencil skirt from surprisingly affordable Aussie label, Zachery

Although known for her love of mega-expensive designers, Kylie's outfit cost just €125 in total – €52 for the top, and €72.50 for the skirt.

Still, it was very much her hair that proved the talking point of the event – with many fans speculating that the reality TV star's bleached mane is already suffering.

Indeed, in recent days her mop has certainly looked tired and stressed, with the originally 'dirty blonde' hue turning to a more brassy shade.

As well as successfully launching the Sugar Factory, an event to which hundreds of fans and photographers showed up, Ms Jenner is enjoying something of a boon in popularity since turning 18 last month.

Despite the presence of numerous other high-profile celebrities, she and her rapper boyfriend Tyga, 25, have been the toast of New York Fashion Week.

Yesterday, she also modelled pieces from her brother-in-law Kanye West's new Yeezy season 2 collection, the unveiling of which took place at the Skylight Modern venue in Manhattan's swish Chelsea district.

That and the app that she unleashed this week is proving to be a runaway hit.

And on social media, she is still the world's most viewed user on Snapchat, while on Instagram she now boasts some 36million followers.

I love you guys so so much.
