We all know how awkward running into an ex can be, but it looks like it’s ten times worse when you’re famous!

There was something of an awkward encounter for Sofia Vergara and her ex-fiance, Nick Loeb on the red carpet at the recent Angel Ball in New York last night.

Sofia was speaking with reporters when Nick snuck up behind her and whispered in her ear, a source told E! News that the moment was an awkward one indeed: “Nick Loeb pushed his way down the red carpet as soon as he saw Sofia. He nuzzled his head into her shoulder … such an awkward moment.”

To make it even worse, Sofia completely ignored him!

The two locked eyes for a brief moment before she quickly moved on with her interview as Nick moved off.

Sofia is currently dating True Blood hottie, Joe Manganiello while Nick was recently linked to actress Sharon Stone.

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara may be majorly loved up with True Blood hottie Joe Manganiello but that doesn’t mean she has no time for her ex fiancé anymore!

The actress was spotted hugging and chatting with Nick Loeb, whom she was engaged to for two years until their split this May.

The couple were reportedly seen outside Nicks’ apartment in New York City but thankfully a source has told US Weekly that Joe has nothing to worry about: “There wasn’t anything romantic about their meeting nor was it a secret that they met up.”

It sounds like Sofia and Nick are now in a place where they can be good friends, which is always a good thing!

Sofia Vergara has been going out with Joe Manganiello for two months, and now she’s been seen wearing this huge sparkler… hmmm – is that wedding bells we’re hearing?

The Modern Family star was spotted wearing the ring as she went for a walk on a sunny day – though no one is quite sure if it means a wedding is on the way, or if it just means that Sofia likes to wear really big rings on her wedding finger.

It DOES seem to match the necklace she was wearing, so there is every possibility that it just a nice piece of jewellery, presumably from her new collection for Kay Jewelers, which she's been tweeting a lot about lately – could this just be a genius PR stunt?

Sofia only split form her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb in May, citing busy schedules as the reason for their breakup. She got with Joe a few weeks later, so you’d be forgiven for thinking he was just her rebound guy.

However, it looks like Sofia is much more serious about the relationship than that, as even if Joe didn’t give her that ring, it sure is acting as a pretty big hint for him to get down on one knee!

These celebrities don’t waste any time, do they?!

It looks like this Hollywood relationship has been confirmed!

Sofia Vergara has split from her fiancé Nick Loeb.

The Modern Family actress has confirmed she and Nick – who got engaged in 2012 – have called time on their relationship after they struggled to balance their professional and personal lives together.

Writing on her WhoSay profile earlier, she revealed, ”Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have decided to be apart.

”We have been having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and because of my work and now his, it’s been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore.

”We are still very close but we believe is the best thing for us right now. ”

The 41-year-old actress – who has a 21-year-old son, Manolo from her first marriage to Joe Gonzalez – spoke in February when the couple were planning their wedding, and admitted at the time they had nothing set in stone.

Such a shame.
