It might seem odd that for someone as famous as Beyoncé, when you attempt to inquire about her age, the answer is pretty hard to find.
The correct answer that is.
Despite being one of the biggest stars on the planet, she still faces serious criticism about her age. Rumours have been swirling about for years, and when you take that whole Solange aspect into account then it just becomes a bizarre conversation.
Her father, Matthew Knowles is the last person we expected to add even more fuel to that fire – but he did.
In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Matthew said:
"P!nk, she’s the exact same age as Beyoncé. There used to be this battle, which group was better. Usher, he was the same age. They were all 14- or 15-years-old."
P!nk was born on September 8, 1979 and Usher was born on October 14, 1978 – two and three years before Queen Bey respectively. Knowles' statements, then, implies that Beyoncé might be 36, rather than 34.
OK, to be fair, sometimes our own parents get mixed up. However, this is not the first time people have been left confused about Bey’s age.
In 2008, Gabrielle Union, of Bring It On fame, said she and Bey have been friends since they were teenagers. However, Gabrielle is nine years older.
Conspiracy theorists maintain that Bey is actually older, but by a few more years than Matthew believes. In 2013 it emerged that people thought Solange was Bey’s daughter.
Someone who claims to work for the Department of Health in Texas supposedly unearthed her birth certificate and claims it has her birth date as 1974. Which would mean she’s actually closer to 40 than 30.
There are websites that maintain that Beyoncé got pregnant as a 12 or 13-year old but the family covered it up and said she was Bey’s sister.
Apparently, since Matthew’s interview the Huffington Post requested a comment on the matter from Beyoncé’s publicist. The request was not returned.
Solange Knowles abandoned all other commitments this week and rushed to hospital after her friend and business partner was involved in a shocking stabbing incident,
Upon hearing the devastating news, Solange cancelled her DJ appearance at Coachella so she could support her friend, Amina Mussa who had been hospitalised following the near-fatal attack.
Amina was left in a critical condition after she was attacked outside her home in New Orleans on Wednesday evening.
Having suffered ten stab wounds, Amina underwent numerous surgeries at a New Orleans hospital.
A 26-year-old man named Arronesia Christophe has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder after it was concluded that Amina suffered at least one 'potentially fatal' wound on her neck.
According to reports, the suspect claimed he was acting in defence when he attacked Amina, who works as project manager for Solange's creative brand Saint Heron.
Newly married Solange has stated that she would not be commenting on the case.
Ooh, it seems Solange is NOT impressed with fans of her superstar sister taking photos!
Beyoncé, Solange and Blue Ivy were photographed enjoying a day at the park recently, but Solange looked less than happy to be snapped, and her look of wrath has hit headlines.
Now, Solange has taken to Twitter to blast those who took the photos, saying: “This is why I live in #nola. Family park days much as I want w out the mom in leopard print stretch pant photo’n every pop lock & drop.”

Beyonce’s baby sister Solange took the plunge for the second time yesterday and married 51-year-old video director Alan Ferguson. The happy couple, who announced their plans to wed last week, tied the knot at a ceremony which took place in Marigny Opera House in New Orleans.
The trendy couple shunned extravagant cars and horse drawn carriages and instead arrived at the ceremony on white vintage bicycles. Major hipster alert!
For her pre-wedding bike ride, Solange channelled her inner 70’s diva and looked truly stunning in a white jumpsuit with plunging neckline.
The twenty-eight-year-old bride and mum-of-one then changed for the official ceremony and wowed guests with a simple high necked, floor length gown and matching cape, designed by Humberto Leon for Kenzo. The entire wedding party wore white, with older sister Beyonce rocking a fitted white midi dress and killer heels for the happy occasion.
Commenting on the chic affair, Solange said: “ Everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love. Everything was a labour of love.”
A source speaking to E! News, said: “The couple looked happy, relaxed and beaming. It was a very chill vibe.”
Solange Knowles plans to marry fiancé Alan Ferguson in an intimate family ceremony this weekend.
Beyoncé's little sister had kept the wedding details under wraps until now, but Us Weekly has leaked the specifics.
The DJ will tie the knot near the New Orleans home she shares with her 10-year-old son Julez. Family and friends will gather for a weekend of low-key celebrations, including a movie night on Friday and a rehearsal dinner the following day. The ceremony will take place on Sunday.
Solange tied the knot for the first time aged just 17, when she married Julez' father Daniel Smith. They divorced three years later.
The new couple have kept their relationship out of the limelight but Alan is reportedly very close to the Knowles family, and has been for years. He even co-presented an award with his future sister-in-law Beyoncé at the 2012 BET Awards.
After a dramatic few months for the Carter-Knowles family, it has not yet been confirmed whether Bey and Jay-Z will attend Solange's big day. Back in May, video footage was leaked of Solange physically attacking Jay-Z in an elevator during the Met Gala, which sparked rumours of a serious family feud.
It can be hard to know how much is too much when it comes to getting dolled up. If you find you feel self-conscious when wearing more formal items like heels and full skirts during the day, then you’ll love the new ‘casualising’ trend.
The word was actually coined by Jennifer Lawrence in an interview way back in 2011, when she admitted she “normally find[s] a way to ‘casualise’ anything too showy,” but fashion bloggers and celebrities have really embraced the trend recently.
Solange Knowles used a cute sweater and long jacket at New York Fashion Week to add some fun to her monochrome skirt and heels.
Check out Olivia Palermo looking classy in a fringed skirt, toned down with a sporty bomber-style jacket.
By introducing a more dressed-down accessory or piece of clothing to your outfit, you’ll avoid looking too prim and proper in that gorgeous dress or skirt.
Here’s some tips for relaxing your look:
1. Wear a loose sweater or long blazer over tailored pieces
Adding something more free-flowing can relax an otherwise formal look, making you feel more comfortable in stiff-looking skirts and trousers.
2. Inject some fun to your outfit with a statement tee
A great way to dress down a pencil skirt or a fuller skirt is to wear something brighter and more relaxed on top. Try a bright t-shirt or tank top to modernise your look.
3. Mix textures
Combining chunky-knits or embellished pieces with sheer and simple fabrics can add an element of creativity, while still keeping your outfit formal enough for work.
4. Add some colour to your all-black look
When going formal, especially at work, it can be easy to become over-dependent on blacks, greys and other muted tones. Bold colours and neons are all over the high street this season, so pick up a few more adventurous pieces to add some playfulness to your wardrobe.
5. Pair your dress with a comfy shirt
One-piece items like dresses can be hard to change up, but a soft flannel shirt does the job brilliantly. Wear it over the dress or just tie it around your waist for a look that’s perfect for weekends.
Beyoncé’s sister Solange has sparked engagement rumours after posting some very happy snaps of her and her long term boyfriend Alan Ferguson to Instagram with the caption: “Today couldn’t have been more perfect. I couldn’t have smiled harder. Thank you for all of your lovely and wonderful wishes.
“They warmed my heart and I simply feel grateful for all of the love.”
The singer could have been referring to her birthday celebrations, but a source said: “Solange Knowles and her longtime boyfriend Alan Ferguson got engaged last night. The two have been dating now for almost 5 years.”
We hope it’s true – the Knowles family could certainly do with some good news!
Solange Knowles will probably be more known lately for fighting with her brother-in-law Jay-Z, rather than her own music.
But it’s not all bad for Solange, as it’s been revealed that her recent record sales have soared as a result of the controversy.
Apparently her record sales have increased over 233% and according to Nielson SoundScan the same week in which that CCTV footage was released, digital sales for her single Sandcastle Disco were up 600 from the previous week.
Well, we’re not really surprised given all the publicity she’s got recently but we doubt Solange sees this as a good thing.

It’s exactly a week, since the shocking footage of Solange attacking Jay-Z in an elevator was released.
But it seems that Beyonce, Solange and Jay-Z are more determined than ever to put last week’s behind them by displaying a united front, through Instagram snaps anyway.
Solange, Beyonce and Jay-Z made an public appearance together on Saturday. This was the first time all three met up, since the release of the elevator footage a week ago.
Beyonce posted several pictures of the happy reunion on her Instagram account today.
The pictures showed Solange, Jay-Z and Beyonce all posing happily together.
While we may never know what happened in that elevator, at least we know that all three have put it behind them.
