The Mean Girls star has been granted a restraining order against the 37-year old German native who had been obsessively stalking her.
Daniel Vorderwulbecke left Lindsay, 28, ‘constantly looking over her shoulder’, and was banned from approaching the actress, but when she failed to return from the U.S to give evidence against him in court, he was not charged with stalking the celebrity.
At Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday Vorderwulbecke was banned from contacting Lindsay directly or indirectly, in person or by electronic means.
The District Judge Ikram said, “These offences are particularly serious. They are serious because of their nature but also because of the frequency of contact and the nature of the contact.”
The DJ has previously been convicted of harassing the manager of the Chiltern Firehouse, a celebrity haunt in London which Lindsay reportedly often visits.
While there he claimed the manager was preventing him from seeing his ‘wife’ and made various threats of revenge when he was barred from the restaurant.
He had also been convicted of criminal damage when he smashed a cigarette bin outside the Playhouse Theatre in London where Lindsay was performing in September of last year.
The judge has imposed a 12-month mental health treatment order as well as a restraining order which will not allow the man to contact either Lindsay or the staff of the Chiltern Firehouse.
Vorderwelbecke has previously delivered a number of strange ‘gifts’ to the star which included a loaf of bread, a tampon and a fake marriage certificate.
He is currently being held at a psychiatric hospital but has also been bombarding the star with abusive messages, one of which read “I’ll get you, wherever you are”.
While he had been charged with stalking Lindsay, her failure to show up in court and provide evidence meant that the stalking charges were dropped.
This isn’t Lindsay’s first experience in dealing with the law, her legal issues have been well documented by the press. Just recently her lawyer had to explain why she had only completed 10 hours of the 125 hours community service she has been tasked with.
