It's not uncommon to see a few sneaky celebrities have cameo roles in movies. They either pop up in the background, play another character or play themselves in a short clip.

Well, in the next Star Wars movie we're going to see one very famous face – Gary Barlow!

Yep, Gary is a big fan of the movie franchise, and according to The Sun, he has already filmed he small cameo last week at Pinewood Studios.

A source told the paper: “Gary is a huge Star Wars fan so this is a dream come true.

“The process has been kept top secret, as he doesn’t want anybody to find out.

“His connections in the film industry got him the part.”

As we all know (or fans of Star Wars know), the Star Troopers are all anonymous so we won't actually know which one Gary is. Our bets are he'll break out into song and dance just to jazz up the movie a bit… or you know, not.

Ireland's west coast will once again be home to a blockbuster Star Wars cast and crew this summer, with preparations in motion for Lucasfilm to return to Kerry.

Skellig Michael, off the coast of Kerry, featured prominently in the final scenes of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, and according to new reports, the cast will return to film at Ceann Sibéál on the Dingle Peninsula for Episode VIII.

Building contractors have already begun installing a 1.5km metal roadway to facilitate the transportation of filming equipment to the remote area.

Although the Irish Film Board is keeping official details of the filming plans under wraps, RTÉ note that – according to local knowledge – the cast are expected to film there for at least two weeks in May.

Local landowners have been asked to enter into access agreements with Lucasfilm, while hotel and holiday accommodation owners have also been made aware of the plans.

Star Wars: Epiosde VIII will be directed by Rian Jackson and will see Episode VII cast members Domhnall Gleeson, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega returning, with Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran all rumoured to be on board.

It seems that Daisy Ridley as well as the crew of the super-popular Star Wars films made the most of the brief time they had in Ireland filming on Skellig Michael

While they may have not have had much spare time to explore, they did make the most of their brief stint in the country by experiencing some of the local culture.

And yes, we are referring to the local pub.

Speaking to Goss.ie earlier in the week while attending a pre-Oscar party, Daisy admitted that the Star Wars crew headed off to the pub after filming and she even tried her very first Guiness.

She also spoke about how amazing (and challenging) it was to work on the gorgeous Skellig michael.

If you dreamed about riding the Millennium Falcon or fighting a battle between the Resistance and the First Order, then it could soon be your chance for your dreams to come true.

And, Disneyland is the place where dreams come true, right?

Hell yeah it is, and it has just unveiled plans for a new Star Wars Land in its American theme parks.

Harrison Ford and robot BB-8 took to the stage to debut the plans for the new land during a celebration for Disneyland's 60th anniversary.

Mr Han Solo himself introduced the plans, saying: "Star Wars is, for lack of a better word… awesome.

"I'm so blessed that I had the opportunity to be part of it, to walk in these iconic locations. And soon, you'll be able to do that as well.

"Not in a galaxy far, far away, but in a place close to home."

What an intro, right?! No word on when the project will be finished, but we're booking a ticket first thing.

David Beckham is a man of many talents, but this one has to be the best one yet.

The footballer was on the Graham Norton Show last night and was challenged to something everyone wants to try: a light saber duel.

After a lot of hesitation, he took the dark side's red saber and Star Wars actor, John Boyega went for the blue saber.

Graham Norton said David's kids would be totally jealous of him, but truth be told, I think we all are.

The Star Wars bug has well and truly hit us all; it's even made its way onto the weather reports!

Yesterday, on the Channel 5 news, the weather woman somehow managed to fit in a whole load of Star Wars references into a one minute report.

Some of our fave phrases used were, "If you Luke father west," "The force is strong though," and "Then tonight, the weather strikes back."

But there's way more other references you need to hear too… especially if you're feeling the Star Wars buzz.

Unless you have been living under a ROCK for the past month, you will be well aware (if not overly excited) that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is about to hit our screens this week.

Whether you have been enjoying or loathing all the build up, last night's Los Angeles première looked like a helluva lot of fun.

And if the initial outstanding reviews have not got you super excited, then brace yourself for the nine best moments from last night's red carpet.

1) Joseph Gordon Levitt took his fandom to new heights

And yeah he pretty won the entire night dressed up as Yoda.

2) Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello made their first post-marriage red carpet appearance

And Sofia even paid homage to the early films by donning a Princess Leia inspired hairdo.

3) Harrison Ford proved that he still has it

He looked better than ever on the red carpet with his wife, Calista Flockhart.

4) The robots absolutely killed it

This little guy was moving around the carpet by himself.

5) The after party looked RIDICULOUS

Party goers enjoyed being flanked by stormtroopers whilst eating Hans Solo's face on a cake. The DREAM.

6) Lupita Nyong'o was hands down best dressed (but new star Daisy Ridley gave her a run for her money)

We have to give Lupita the win though for her robotic inspired look.

7) It was a cosplay fans DREAM

It all looks SO REAL.

8) Domhnall Gleeson brought his Dad

And they obviously enjoyed a sneaky pint.

8) George Lucas got a standing ovation

Rumour has it that the auditorium stood to acknowledge the director of the original films after he had shared a moment with the new director, JJ Abrams, on the red carpet.

Finally, the wait is almost over, with less than half a day to go until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits Irish cinemas.

But even if you're not a Star Wars buff, we reckon you'll still get a little kick out of the mini-makeover one of Dublin's landmarks got today.

The O'Connell St Spire is no longer just the tall silver yoke we know and love – for today only, it's a full-on Star Wars Lightsaber.

Amazing. Will it light up tonight? We certainly hope so.

Buzz for the new film has been steadily building for the last few months, with many avid fans pre-booking spots for midnight screenings all over the country this evening.

Last night Dubliner Domhnall Gleeson took to the red carpet in Hollywood for the film's world premiere, with his dad Brendan in tow.

But the real queen of the Star Wars press tour so far has to be Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia).

The actress, who had her first role in the film franchise aged just 19, has been doing the interview circuit with her bulldog Gary for the last few weeks, and she's been a joy to behold.

"I think in my mouth, so I don't lie," she said recently in explanation of her hilariously no-bullsh*t interview style.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is rolling out to Irish cinemas this week, and of course, the force has completely taken hold.

So much so, people are beginning to see Star Wars signs on the streets of Dublin.

One young man came across a road sign that featured a very Imperial-theme.

Now, we all know that this sign really means, 'No entry to goods vehicles', but we much prefer seeing that sign as the TIE fighter sign.

Although, some people may not get the reference…

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the new Star Wars movie that everyone has been waiting on and it's only a few weeks until its debut. Yay!

And you rarely come across someone that hasn't seen at least one film in the sci-fi franchise… or so we thought.

Jimmy Kimmel claimed that most people know Star Wars better than actual wars, so he put pedestrians to the test in his latest instalment of Lie Witness News

So you don’t own a toy lightsaber, you always just assumed that Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker were love interests and you have never referred to your own unshaven state as being Chewbacca-esque.

If you agree to all the above then we can safely assume that you are not looking forward to Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens. But you HAVE heard about it, right?

Whether you are a diehard fan living for December 17 or just wondering what all the fuss is about, here is why you should most definitely be excited about the new Star Wars.

1. It’s a real sequel

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the new reboot is that is takes places thirty years after the events of the original trilogy. Having had to sit through three rather divisive prequels, we finally get to find out what happens to our original heroes.

2. The Cast

Apart from the return of Harrison Ford as our favourite ‘love to hate’ cocky pilot, Han Solo, the new films boast a load of fresh talent. And with fresh talent comes new characters.

Some of the top-billed names include Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis and our very own Domhnall Gleeson.

3. The Costumes

The costumes from the original picture have become pretty iconic (those Princess Leia buns anyone?) so you can be sure that a load of effort has been put into the design of the costumes in the new films.

We can’t wait to figure out which ones will make it into cinematic history – and, of course, which one we will attempt to recreate next Halloween.

4. The Villains

Forget Darth, the new film comes with a whole new band of villians.

There is Domhnall Gleeson playing an evil general-like character and Andy Serkis playing Supreme Leader Snoke, a sort of omnipresent overlord.

But the villain that has most fans losing their minds is Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, pictured above with his CRAZY cross-shaped lightsaber.

5. There are a lot more coming

Disney Studios has announced that it is releasing not only a new trilogy but a new spin-off franchise of films. That means that there will probably be a new Star Wars film out every year for the foreseeable future.

You might as well jump on the bandwagon.

6. The trailer is pretty AMAZING

Okay, we are gonna officially stop talking and let the pretty epic trailer do all the talking.
