Strictly Come Dancing

Harry Styles’ ex and Strictly Come Dancing star, Caroline Flack, has been doing what every girl does after a break-up and turned her attention elsewhere, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t saddened by the end of her relationship.

Following her split from boyfriend of more than a year, Jack Street, the 35-year-old TV presenter has focussed much of her energy on her Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals and by the looks of things, it’s paid off!

Understandably, Caroline was seen to be quite upset behind the scenes of the hit Saturday night show, but soldiered on and impressed judges with her Argentine tango which earned her a place at the top of the leader board.

The star took to Twitter to thank people for their support and revealed that she will be performing a salsa at the semi-final.

Insiders have commented on the breakdown of the relationship between Caroline and the music manager, saying: “No one else is involved.” Apparently, the decision was mutual and the relationship had reached its natural end.

Let’s hope Caroline, a favourite to win the show, can stay focussed on her dance moves until she claims the title!

Hmm, it’s really starting to seem like relationships are doomed when it comes to Strictly Come Dancing, as Caroline Flack is said to have ended things with her boyfriend Jack Street.

According to reports, conflicting schedules are to blame for the break-up, with Caroline busy in dance rehearsals while Jack has a high-flying career as a music manager. He has currently been spending a significant amount of time in the US with Sam Smith.

Jack is also expected to accompany the rising star on a tour in the US, beginning in January, meaning he will be away for a significant amount of time.

It was also reported that the former Xtra Factor presenter was distraught before her performance last weekend. If that’s the case, then she definitely nailed it, as she was fab!

Another Strictly couple break-up…who will it be next time?

He may be enjoying every moment on the dance floor, but Strictly Come Dancing star Mark Wright has admitted that his hectic training and performing schedule has affected his relationship with fiancée Michelle Keegan.

Opening up on the toll the show is taking on the couple, the former TOWIE star said that he and Michelle have barely seen each other over the past two months.

“About three weeks ago I’d been really missing her and she’d been really missing me. I sent her 27 roses and I said on the card, ‘Here’s 27 roses – this is how many days it’s going to be until we’re together,’” he said.

Wow, now that is a thoughtful boyfriend.

While the couple’s career commitments may be keeping them apart right now (Michelle is currently filming a new drama series in the north) one thing Mark insists they don’t have to worry about is ‘the Strictly curse’.

“If you’re in a genuinely happy, strong, beautiful relationship, it just doesn’t enter your head. It’s never been a question for us, genuinely,” he added.

Mark and Michelle are set to tie the knot next year, after announcing their engagement in September 2013.

Could they be more loved-up?

Mark Wright has spoken out to set the record straight on his relationship with his fiancée, Michelle Keegan.

It had been reported that the couple, who are due to get married soon, were on the rocks and a break-up was on the horizon.

However, the Strictly Come Dancing star has shot down these reports, saying: “People are saying there’s a problem but it’s just not true. We are so supportive of each other and completely love each other. It’s not affecting our relationship – we are too much in love.”

The rumours came as Mark appears in the reality TV show, which is notorious for splitting famous couples up, known as the ‘Strictly curse’.

Mark is partnered with dancer Karen Hauer and says that neither Michelle nor Karen’s partner have anything to worry about: “If you’re in a strong relationship like I am, and like Karen is, your partners never have to worry. If she didn’t trust me then it would be different.”

Good to hear, we do love Mark and Michelle together!

It’s usually all smiles and hugs for the camera on Strictly Come Dancing, but it looks like one couple are definitely not seeing eye-to-eye in this series.

According to reports, star Steve Backshall has lodged a formal complaint to the BBC against his professional dance partner, Ola Jordan, claiming that she is 'bullying' him.

The 41-year-old presenter has accused Ola of being ‘rude and impatient’ during their rehearsals for the show, something which he claims has damaged his confidence.

A source told the MailOnline: “Steve is a very bouncy personality, up for any challenge, but Ola’s harsh treatment has flattened him and made him lose confidence.”

“Ola is a cold and very distant personality, who refuses to mix with Steve’s family and friends,” the source added.

The BBC have clearly taken the complaint very seriously and have assigned a chaperone to oversee their rehearsals for the rest of the series.

All eyes will be on Ola and Steve tonight, then.

Singer Simon Webbe has revealed that he contemplated suicide in the months before his stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

The former boy band star opened up in a candid interview in the Mirror today, detailing his downward spiral after completing Blue’s last tour.

“I hated who I was and started questioning my whole life,” said the 36-year-old, adding, “I never attempted suicide but I thought about it.”

Recalling some of his darkest moments after the boys finished up their concert dates, Simon said: “I turned mirrors around so I didn’t have to look at myself. I didn’t want to be here, didn’t want to be a part of anything.”

Admitting that he didn’t leave the house “for weeks” except to buy food, the father-of-one said that he reached one of the lowest points of his life.

Happily for Simon however, his preparation for Strictly soon turned things around, with the star crediting the dance show with ‘changing his whole life’.

“Now I want to get up in the morning,” said the Guilty singer, adding, “Learning the dances every week has been like therapy.”

Despite finding himself in the bottom two last week, Simon has received praise from the judges for his skill.

We hope he goes far in the competition.

It’s all over for Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev!

The couple were partnered together on Strictly Come Dancing three years ago and are just another couple to fall victim to the supposed “strictly curse”.

Speculation that the couple were on the rocks had been reported throughout the year, but it has just only now been confirmed by the actress herself.

Other stars whose relationships have ended after appearing on the TV show include Rachel Riley and Susanna Reid as well as many others!

Kara also explained to The Telegraph that she and Artem have been over for a while now, but it wasn’t something she wished to announce: “We are not together. We’re fine, but we aren’t a couple any more. The reason I haven’t spoken about it is because I hate reading about myself in that way.”

The former EastEnders star has just wrapped up scenes for the new season of Mr Selfridge

Here's a reminder of the great chemistry Kara and Artem brought to our screens back in 2010 (how has it been that long?!)

The Saturdays starlet Frankie Bridge had a tough few days this week after she suffered an ankle injury during dance rehearsals.

The singer is taking part in the current series of Strictly Come Dancing, and was left in pain after she landed awkwardly during training for tonight's live show.

Earlier this week she posted a picture of her dance partner Kevin Clifton applying ice to her ankle, with the caption "Ouch! My 1st Strictly injury."

But Frankie is now back on her feet and is set to perform a Charleston with Kevin, to the theme tune music from 1970s sitcom Happy Days. Love it!

The singer took to Twitter to express her excitement about tonight's show:

Getting used to the gruelling training schedule hasn't been easy for Frankie, who revealed in an interview this week that she's been forced to take motion sickness tablets to help with the nausea she was suffering from being spun around during each number. "Every part of my body aches," said the star, "but my body feels toned and I feel fitter than ever."

We're glad to hear she's on the mend, all the same!

Strictly Come Dancing's Kristina Rihanoff has apparently been banned from partnering with married celebrities on the show, after she has been linked to one too many breakups.

The “curse of Strictly”, where stars in long term relationships separate after appear on the show, has become infamous. After the break ups of Joe Calzaghe, Vincent Simone and now Ben Cohen were linked to her, it looks like the show bosses are taking matters into their own hands.

“There were discussions about Kristina, and she was made aware of them herself. There is no blame being attached to anyone.” An inside source told the Sunday People.

“Most of the relationships that have broken down after contestants appeared on Strictly Come Dancing clearly had problems before the show began.”

“But there is no doubting the fact Kristina is a very attractive woman who has been at the centre of relationship breakdowns,” they added.

Will this break the “curse”? We'll have to wait and see!

Mark Wright has confirmed he is taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, but has revealed he has ZERO moves up his sleeve!

The former TOWIE star has revealed he is set to take to the dance floor in the upcoming BBC One series and plans to “try hard” to take home the glitter ball trophy.

But Mark claims he has no rhythm whatsoever, and is actually known has ‘Marky no moves’ by pals!

“You know I can’t dance and all that, and I’ve got absolutely no rhythm and they call me ‘Marky no moves’, well… the dancing shoes are coming out, and once and for all I’m going to learn to dance!” he said.

“As this year I am taking part in Strictly Come Dancing! Laugh all you want, like my friends and family have done, I don’t care, I’m gonna do it. I love a challenge.

“I know the only move in my locker is a caterpillar, and I know that I’m gonna look funny in sequins, but… I do like to try hard and I do like to crack new challenges.”

Best of luck Mark – we just can’t wait to see you in all those fab dancing outfits!

Girl group The Saturdays are planning an extended hiatus once their greatest hits tour finishes next month.

The ladies all have work lined up on individual projects and want to take a “few months” off from performing and recording, according to a source. “They've been working pretty much non-stop for six years and want some time off to focus on all their various solo interests,” said the insider.

Frankie Bridge (formerly Sandford) is no doubt relieved to have some free time planned, as she announced this morning she will be joining the line-up for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. She is the first celebrity revealed for the new season of the show.

The singer “was the BBC's main target for Strictly this year,” said the source. “They desperately want her sexy girlband glamour and love the fact she is a WAG.”

Frankie confirmed the news herself earlier today and said she is dying to get her dancing shoes on. “Like so many little girls, I used to take dance lessons when I was in primary school… but this is going to be so different from anything I have done with The Saturdays. I just can't wait to get started!”
