If you're anything like us, there's a high chance you regularly have a mountain of clothes, shoes and accessories waiting in a virtual basket for the moment your monthly salary drops.

The joys of online shopping means you can browse to your heart's content, send screenshots to the squad for feedback, and even check reviews of the items before making the plunge.

Oh, and you can do it from the comfort of your own couch with a glass of vino in one hand and a credit card in the other.

And as online shopping devotees, we can confirm that no matter how adept we've become at the activity, we generally tend to have the same seven thoughts at various stages of the process.

1. Am I a 10 on this site or are these the guys that bumped me up to a 12 without my permission?

"Ah, there are no tens left, sure. Looks like I'm a 12 here, so."

2. What was I looking for in the first place?

"Christ, it was for someone's birthday present, wasn't it?  And yet here I am on my own favourited list again."

3. I wish I was the type that could wear fringing.

"Imagine how different my life would be if I could pull off fringing. They'd call me the girl with the fringing."

4. I know I only wanted the skirt, but the whole outfit is calling to me.

"They put this look together for a reason, and if I ignore it, it'll be one of those things I'll regret forever."

5. Filtering has got to be one of the greatest inventions ever.

It's like having my own personal shopper, but I don't have to open my mouth or make eye contact.

6. A sale! They're having a sale! AND I have a discount code. That's it. This is how I'll go. Retail euphoria.

"iClothing, I love you. You guys are the real MVPs."

7. One day I'm going to earn a bigger wage and actually get everything on my wishlist.

"That'll always be the goal."

Summer is right around the corner, and although the weather may not be on board with this fact quite yet, there are some seriously cool summer sunglasses catching our eye on Instagram.

Colourful sunnies are ruling the roost when it comes to dominating the trend charts this season.

Rainbow-hued, reflective lenses have a huge celebrity following, with the likes of Bella Hadid, Selena Gomez and the Kardashians trying the trend.

The trend is giving us major noughties nostalgia, and remind us of better days when R&B dominated the charts and full on Juicy Couture tracksuits were an acceptable fashion statement.

It's no secret that our look (thankfully) evolves as we get older.

They say your twenties are divided into two distinct phases; early and late, and this most certainly applies to style as much as anything else.

The wardrobe of your teens is undoubtedly a distant memory now, but we also go through our fair share of wardrobe revolutions and evolutions during our twenties as well.

And yet there are some golden rules which apply to all ages, and should be memorised and internalised before you reach your 30th birthday.

1. Only buy clothes that fit

It sounds obvious, but we're all guilty of buying something a size too small in the hopes we'll soon fit into it, and invariably we end up feeling frustrated, disappointed, and out of pocket.

Avoid getting fixated on clothes size, and instead assess your potential purchase purely by how it looks and feels on your body. At the end of the day, how often are you asked what size you're actually wearing?

Use the changing room as a measure of how you'll feel on the outside world. If you're unable to sit down in your new jeans, or only like the ensemble if you stand a certain way and suck in, it's not for you.

2. Do a clear-out twice a year

In order to make room for new purchases, it's advised you do a bi-annual clear-out which will ensure you go into your next shopping trip with a clearer idea of what you need.

Ask yourself if you would buy each garment if you were presented with it that day, and let that be your guide as to whether it gets tucked away or tossed.

Don't be too hasty though; some discarded items may only need a little mending or a quick spruce in order to seem appealing again.

3. Store your clothes properly

OK, so while we would all love a walk-in wardrobe and endless storage, that's not possible for most of us, but it doesn't mean we can't care for our clothes in the same manner as those with oodles of personal space.

Establish a system within your wardrobe (no matter how small it might be) invest in the right hangers, and make use of storage boxes if needs be.

Not only will proper storage ensure the longevity of your clothes, it will making styling on a day to day basis so much easier.

4. Invest in staple pieces

There's a reason this piece of advice has been doing the rounds for generations, and it's because its importance cannot be overestimated.

No matter what your personal style, there are some pieces which will always be needed, and it's always worth investing in them once you come across a style you like.

A winter coat, a blazer, a well-fitting pair of jeans, an LBD and a good quality pair of ballet pumps will be used time and time again, and are five items which can be built on in order to showcase your own personal style.

5. Pay attention to care labels

If you're the type of person to bung everything you own into the machine machine along with teatowels and beach towels, you're doing your wardrobe a major disservice.

The care labels are there for a reason, and it's important you pay heed and follow the instructions if you want each garment to retain the shape and size it was when you left the store with it.

And if the symbols mean next to nothing to you, a quick search on Google will have you sorted.

6. Get measured on the regular

The benefit of well-fitting underwear cannot be overestimated. Not only does a proper fitting bra give you the support you need, but it instantly transforms your look depending on your outfit.

While technically speaking your bra isn't generally seen, its shape, fit and texture often determine how well your top sits against your body.

It's what's on the inside that counts after all…

7. If a garment makes you uncomfortable, ditch it

Whether it's a low-ride pair of jeans, a skirt that constantly rides up or shoes that have been giving you blisters long after the 'break-in' period, you need to know when it's time to heave-ho.

Put simply, you need to be able to move in your clothes without wincing, hobbling or constantly checking yourself, and convincing yourself otherwise is a fool's game.

Chances are if you feel uncomfortable, you likely look uncomfortable, and the key to seamless style is confidence, ease and self-possession.

8. Understand the importance of accessories

There's no doubt that accessories can make or break an outfit, but there's a lot to be said for working them properly.

If your budget is limited and you rarely splash out on new clothes, style up old ensembles with a new accessory.

From belts and bangles to scarves and shades, the power of a perfectly-placed accessory is a force to be reckoned with.

Every now and again, a fashion item comes around that divides the nation and causes a bit of confusion.

From latex leggins to platform runners, sometimes the weirder side of fashion can cause major debate.

Topshop recently came under criticism for their 'clear knee' jeans, but their latest style of jean is a step (or a leap) further.

Forget plastic knees, how about plastic pants?

The newest style of trousers on the Topshop website is the MOTO Clear Plastic Straight Leg Jeans, retailing for €76.00, and they are, as you may have gathered, totally see through.

Or, as some Twitter users have pointed out, they 'defeat the entire purpose' of wearing jeans.

While there is definitely some scope to potentially style these up for a festival or some kind of out-there rave type of scenario, we can't really imagine anyone strolling down Grafton street in these on a Saturday morning.

Mornings are hard.

Want a little extra time sleeping? Have an early exercise class? Just not bothered to go through your wardrobe at 6am? Then we have some handy tips to help you get dressed quicker every morning.

Whether you're heading to work or a weekend family brunch, you'll get ready in no time with these four tips:

The may seem obvious, but honestly, how many do you tick on a daily basis?!

Be a weather girl

Listen, we live in Ireland. And as much as we'd like to show off our new gúna, sometimes the weather just won't let us live our best lives.

So instead of listening to a weather report for the entire week, take a look on your phone the night before and then decide what is suitable to wear the next day.

Be practical

Open your diary or calendar the night before and see what's on the cards for the next day.

If you have meetings, then you'll know to dress accordingly. But if it's just a regular day in the office or you're heading for lunch with a friend, then you'll know to dress casually.

Have everything ready the night before

Were you one of those gals that just slipped on their uniforms 30 minutes before school started? You had it all ready to go?

Now that you're an adult, you can still stick to the same routine. Have everything out the night before – including bras, knickers, etc – so they're waiting for you in the morning.

Don't forget about your handbag

There's no point having all of your clothes ready, and then racing around the house to find your diary and keys for 20 minutes.

Make sure you have your handbag, and all of its essentials, ready to go for the next day.

accessory, bag, blur

See, this plan is foolproof!
