You might not think it, but a lot of thought goes behind every fashion forward Instagram account.

With clever tricks and smart methods, style icons and fashionistas have the inside knowledge on how to make their Instas look super fab all day long.

So, if you want to have an account that resembles the Kendalls and Chiaras of the world, then here are a few tips to help you out:

1. Brief captions and snappy hashtags

No one wants to see long, drawn-out captions under images, because let's be honest, we all scroll past them.

Keep your followers intrigued with simple intros and one or two hashtags is the perfect amount.

2. Be different

Post various types of images and videos, such a scenery, animals, accessories, food and so on.

Posting the same things day in and day out will grow a little stale and your followers might get a bit bored.

3. Brand it

If you're wearing a new River Island top or Nine Crows shirt, make sure to tag them in your image.

Most brands will actually regram the best pictures, which could gain you a whole new following. And check out if the brand has a hashtag, too.

4. Selfie-less

While posting a selfie from time to time is grand, you don't want your entire feed to be filled with photos of your face (sorry).

And if you do post a selfie, include some fab accessories or a gorgeous background.

5. Filters

Use the same or similar filters throughout your whole feed. Whether you want colourful and bright or grey and muted, choose a theme and stick to it.

A lot of bloggers also use VSCO to enhance their snaps.

As frivolous as it sounds, fashion means everything to me.

It's not just about buying the latest trends or keeping up with fashion designers; for me, it's about owning who you are and making that known to the world.

It showcases your personality, alludes to your nature and hints at your own idiosyncrasies. It's telling the world who you are without saying a word.

A post shared by Louise Cooney (@louisecooney_) on

Since I was young, I always had an eye for the latest trends. I would style my uniform up to stand apart from the other school kids. I cut and sewed my clothes so they would be more 'me'.

The fashion industry faces quite a bit of backlash sometimes. People think it's not important and not something to worry about. But, I worry about it.

Whether it's going to work, a press event, a party or a dinner, I curate outfits in my head for every occasion – sometimes weeks or months in advance.

If I'm not in a good mood, my clothing choices will reflect that. If I want to be a BOSS in work, I dress to make me feel empowered.

And people will call me shallow and materialistic as a result.

I began my career in fashion, working with various stylists in and around Ireland. And some of the first reactions I received when I told people were, 'You? Working in fashion?'

They didn't think it was a real job. They didn't understand what it meant to me to be working with top stylists in the country.

I worked on photoshoots, campaigns, fashion shows and TV shows. I styled regular men and women as well as models and TV presenters.

And the more I worked, the more I realised what an amazing career it is.

But as brilliant as it is, it's also hard and takes a lot of effort. You'll be up at the crack of dawn to head to a photoshoot. You'll be on your hands and knees all day, pinning, cutting and taping clothes to make them look perfect.

And while you may be tired and ready for bed, the minute the creative minds of the stylists, photographers, make-up artists and hair stylists come together, you get a rush of total achievement.

Some of my favourite fashionistas in Ireland, like Courtney Smith, Brendan Courtney, Darren Kennedy, Louise Cooney, Louise O'Reilly and Anouska Proette Brandon, worked their asses off to get where they are.

Whether they're stylists, bloggers or models, it's a tough industry and not something to be dismissed as whimsical or frivolous.

For me, fashion means creativity, it means diversity, it means change, it means hard work and it means owning who you are.

It will forever be an expression of each and every individual.

Every now and again, a fashion item comes around that divides the nation.

From Juicy Couture track suits to those plastic Topshop jeans, sometimes the weirder side of fashion can cause a major debate.

This week, the fashion world is trying to pass of some very amusing looking tote bags as haute couture, but the bags reminded Twitter of something a little closer to home.

Tweeters have been comparing the €2,900 Balenciaga bags to those plastic zip-up containers that duvets come in, and they're not wrong.

The only difference is, instead of having Balenciaga stamped on the corner, those plastic blanket bags probably say "king-sized" or "single."

Balenciaga Blanket Bag €2,900.00

There are probably about four of them stacked in your parent's hot press, so if you want to be totally on trend, ask you mam if you can borrow her guest room throw.

The bags are getting quite a bit of ridicule online, but we're sure the world of couture won't be paying any notice.

In November of 2015, a Twitter user named Molly Hodgdon compiled a list of items which women over the age of 30 should definitely avoid wearing.

But all is not as it seems.

In the satirical Twitter post, Molly ultimately took aim at the endless lists created by women's magazines which suggest – in no uncertain terms – that some items of clothing are strictly off-limits the moment you take your first big step into your third decade.

Opting for a more sensible approach on the ill-advised topic, Molly reminded women that there are indeed some items we should avoid… but only if they pose a risk to you or those around you.

And that post is doing the rounds again this week, and frankly we can't get enough of it.

So, if you've ever wondered what you should avoid as you approach the big 3-0 (or any other time for that matter), Molly has laid it down here for you.

Molly, take a bow!

Most of us have learned the hard way that when it comes to leaving the salon with the cut or style we envisioned, we need to let a photo do the talking.

Providing your stylist with a photo of your end goal is much simpler than talking in circles (and leaving in tears), and if ever there was a time to do this, it's in the run-up to your wedding, right?

With this in mind, we trawled Instagram for some of the most stunning bridal party hairstyles, and frankly we're in a world of contentment right now.

Would you just look at the sheer beauty of these creations?

When it comes to wedding prep chat, the bride's dress is obviously up there in the 'most talked about' section of any Whatsapp group discussion.

And while choosing the gown is, undoubtedly, a mammoth task for any bride-to-be, choosing the shoes, which will see you transition from single gal to married woman, is not exactly easy.

We need comfort, we need style, and we need something so Insta-worthy, it'd bring tears to your eyes.

With that in mind, we decided to trawl Instagram for inspiration should we ever find ourselves hightailing it up the aisle, and let's just say those Instagrammers did not disappoint.

Case in point:
