Milling around Penneys while snapping up the latest must-have fashions and accessories could easily be considered a national pastime at this stage.

And while most of us could offer a thorough assessment of most sections of the high street store, the Home department doesn’t always get the props it deserves.

Until now, that is.

It looks like the good folk behind the insanely popular high street store have decided it’s important we have the perfect setting for our post-shopping spree fashion show, and after getting a sneak peek of what’s on offer, we are totally on board.

Launching their Autumn/ Winter 16 season, Penneys have tapped into our nation’s love of Scandinavian-inspired furniture and created a clean, contemporary range which speaks to us on an emotional level.

From the geometric grid prints and colour blocking to the metallic accessories and stunning stationary, the Scandi Cool look has us seriously re-thinking our current décor.

And with prices coming in as low as €7 a pop, we're totally OK with that.

Anyone else feel a shopping trip coming on?

When it comes to music festivals, our Stateside pals definitely have us beat on weather, but there's no denying we're nose to nose in the style stakes.

With festival attire rapidly taking over a large portion of our wardrobes, the vast majority of us have graduated from the 'binliner and fisherman's hat' approach, and have instead taken inspiration from a number of different trends in order to create our very own festival chic.

When it comes to the numerous musical events which have and continue to punctuate our summer, we have the look absolutely nailed.

Case in point: Longitude 2016.

Giving the Coachella contingent a serious run for their money in the grunge stakes, our Longitude ladies went for more than a passing nod to the 90s, and did it like absolute pros.

Two-tone denim and cons FTW.

There's no doubt white crop tops or for the more daring among us – white bralets –  are BIG this festival season, and we're all over the boho-inspired Broderie anglaise version which we're definitely getting our hands on for Electric Picnic.

Think how little space they'd take up in a rucksack! Packing hack 101 right there.

With dungarees making a huge comeback this year, festival-goers have been going for them in a big way, and we're hella impressed.

New Look and Topshop are great for overalls right now, so if you can't see yourself wearing a pair outside of a fest, at least you won't have broken the bank!

Everyone knows that accessories can make or break an outfit, so we're all over the sleek and chick bumbag look currently gaining momentum at Irish festivals this summer.

Most of us are opting for minimal because – well, it IS a bumbag at the end of the day – and yet there's such an abundance on the high street right now, it's unlikely you'll bump into someone rocking the same one.

Longitude ladies, you have it nailed.

While switching from gym bunny to mid-week glamazon is no mean feat for most of us, Vogue Williams pulls it off like a total pro.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, the 30-year-old broadcaster and model gave her followers a peek at the look she rocked while attending the launch of THE. SPACE –  a new high concept Dublin salon owned by award-winning stylists Nadine Quinn and Carla Rose McQuillan.

With a shout-out to her ladies and their new venture, Vogue shared a snap of herself on the night, writing: "So proud of my friends Carla and Nadine opening their amazing salon @thespace. Thanks for the hair girlos."

Attended by guests from the world of fashion and beauty, Vogue rocked the co-ord look in a midi skirt and crop top which she set off with killer lips, killer heels and a hailo braid which has everyone at SHEmazing! HQ falling all over themselves today.

Commenting on last night's launch – which took place in the Drumcondra-based salon – Nadine Quinn said: "“I believe that in each individual lies their own inherent lightness and natural creativity which, when nourished, leads to a more harmonious fulfilled lifestyle."

"At The Space we have chosen an enlightened approach to business," she continued.  "As a team we choose to work with presence and mindfulness, with a desire to make others not only look beautiful, but also inspire the idea that lasting beauty is developed from within.”

If Vogue's stunning look is anything to go by, it looks like we'll all be Drumcondra-bound in the not-too-distant future.

“I feel as though I’m kind of prepared to do it now. If it had been any time sooner than this, I either wouldn’t be responsible enough or have been able to take on this kind of feat,” she said.

Margot Robbie, you might want to look away now – Wait, Margot Robbie reads this, right?

She does, of course she does.

Anyway, while Ms. Robbie admits she spent her teen years desperately trying to look like Harry Potter – no, seriously – one girl on Instagram has actually managed it for real.

Annelies Van Overbeek, who bears a striking resemblance to movie icon, Audrey Hepburn, has Instagram enthralled by her incredible transformations, but it's her Harry Potter one that has really caught the public's imagination.

Sharing two snaps of herself as everybody's favourite wizard, Annelies wrote: "And now for something completely different; my second attempt at looking like Harry Potter!"

"I watched The Prisoner of Azkaban yesterday and tonight we're watching The Goblet of Fire! (My fave HP book!)," she added alongside a photo of herself looking remarkably like the young male wizard.

"Don't worry, I didn't forget the scar! Nor did I cut my hair hahah!" she wrote alongside another close-up snap of her impressive transformation.

Let's be honest here, girl's got skills.

There's nothing worse than pulling off a top after a long day and realising the neckline is totally SCHMEARED in foundation – sexy, right?

And while we know there's probably a better solution, most of us end up tossing it into the laundry and hoping all will be well in the morning.

It looks, however, like the days of crossing your fingers and waiting for the machine's beep have come to an end ever since this vlogger's online tutorial has gained momentum.

Originally uploaded to YouTube by Kalei Lagunero in 2015, this genius hack has started doing the rounds again, and frankly ladies, it's the gamechanger we've all been waiting for.

All you need to rid your favourite top of your favourite foundation is some shaving cream and water  – no, seriously that's it.

Whether she was rocking an Alice band, a long sleek bob or a head of beachy waves, Lauren Conrad generally remained pretty consistent when it came to her hair colour.

Warm honey tones tended to be the order of the day for the former reality TV star, but it looks like she's decided to go all Taylor Swift at the Met Gala if a recent Instagram preview is anything to go by.

While the 30-year-old Laguna Beach-native herself has yet to unveil her new look to her five million followers, Kristin Ess – Lauren's stylist – has teased the transformation on her own Insta page, and people are OBSESSED.

Uploading a shot of a coy-looking Lauren sporting platinum-blonde tresses, Kristin wrote: "Got to spend this morning with my human doll @laurenconrad and some of my fave ladies at @enews@cinalin @iamcattsadler {hair by me & makeup by @amynadinemakeup."

"Just a bunch of hard working ladies making the world go round," she added in the post which has clocked up more than 8,000 likes since its upload this weekend.

The stylist's followers were all over Lauren's icy-blonde look, with one writing: "The perfection that is Lauren Conrad" and another commenting: "Lauren's new look is mesmerizing."

Ladies? We sense a hair appointment coming on…

It’s well known that wedding guests are generally not supposed to wear white to the occasion, but are there other major no-nos when it comes to how guests dress?  And do other guests have the right to enforce those restrictions?

These are questions being asked by a New Zealand woman this week after she was abused by other guests at a wedding she attended for wearing a short peach-coloured bandage dress.

In a post which was shared on radio station The Breeze Waikato’s Facebook page, a friend of the woman explained: “A friend wore this dress to a wedding in the weekend and got targeted big time.”

“She got treated rudely by other women at the wedding who saw her as a target for wearing this dress.”

“A woman came up behind her and slapped her on the bum and said it was on a dare from a group of other women who were watching and snickering.”

“Someone else seemingly purposely spilt a beer on her.”

“She's amazed that grown women could be so immature and such bullies.”

“She wants to know – Did she bring ANY of this on herself by wearing this dress to a wedding?  Your thoughts?”

As anyone who’s familiar with the web’s infamous comment sections would expect, the post received a mixed response, with some people praising the woman’s confidence, while others suggesting she should have covered up.

One Facebook-user wrote: “The other women are just jealous. Personally I'd never wear a dress like that, simply because I don't have the figure for it and definitely don't have the confidence to wear it. But if she's got it, why not be proud of it. Least she's not wearing white and trying to upstage the bride!”

But another said: “Too slutty for a wedding… that sort of dress is ok on a date night or for the bedroom but NOT for a wedding. Its bad form to outshine the bride."

While it's never okay to abuse someone for what they wear, are there limits to what wedding guests should wear?

Back in our mother's day, weddings were ALL about the dress, and the shoes were simply something that peeked out from beneath the hem, but nowadays we know better.

Oh, so much better.

The moment we're done gushing over the gown, our attention moves to the bride's shoe as we gauge whether she went for a pop of colour, killer heel or – dare we say it – iconic red sole.

And while we'd totally consider ourselves footwear aficionados, we obviously pale in comparison to the shoe queen that is Carrie Bradshaw – Sorry! We mean Sarah Jessica Parker.

So, we're totally with these three brides who fell all over themselves when they realised that the shoe specialist on hand during their dress fitting was none other than our favourite New Yorker.

Having launched a new shoe range for brides, Sarah Jessica treated the three overwhelmed brides-to-be to their very own Cinderella moment as she crouched in front of them and lovingly matched the perfect heel to their chosen gown.

Ladies, just imagine!

Some of the biggest names in music took to the red carpet yesterday for this year’s iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards in Toronto.

Host for the night Gigi Hadid set the bar for the event’s fashion as she stepped out in a striking red pant suit and glitzy oversized choker with a lengthly fishtail plait in her hair.

Gigi’s model friend Hailey Baldwin coupled her gold sequined mini-dress with a pair of strappy gold heels, leaving her hair and makeup simple so as not to overdo the look.

Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell stunned in her belted silky black slip dress which was split up to her thigh in Angelina Jolie fashion.

She was joined on the red carpet by her co-star Ashley Benson, who was also dressed in a simple slip.

Singer Sofia Carson chose a hot red lip and slicked back pony to go with her unique black co-ords.

While Canadian TV presenter Maripier Morin went for a girly pink skater style wrap dress and nude heels.

Fifth Harmony, Nick Jonas and James Bay all performed at the event which saw Drake take home five awards, including Video of the Year.

Justin Bieber and Fifth Harmony were also among the night's winners.

Actress Saoirse Ronan is no stranger to the red carpet, so it’s little surprise that her look at last night’s Tony Awards ceremony was picture-perfect.

The star – who made her Broadway debut back in March with The Crucible – looked stunning in a floor-length barely blush gown with a subtle torso cut-out and soft fishtail end.

The 22-year-old ensured that nothing distracted from the simplistic elegance of the figure-hugging Stella McCartney dress by accessorising only with a pair of simple drop earrings and a thin gold cuff on her wrist.

She allowed her fair complexion to take centre stage with a barely-there makeup look created by New York-based makeup artist Talia Sparrow.

Speaking about the star's style, Talia told InStyle: "We went for a modern and romantic look with youthful, dewy skin…we wanted to keep the look clean and fresh, while sculpting without contouring."

The Brooklyn actress’s look was completed with a low-key hairstyle which had been loosely pulled back into a low braided bun.

The popular and highly acclaimed actress co-presented an award on the night with Girls actor Andrew Rannells.

The star-studded event was hosted by comedian James Corden, who opened the show with a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting.
