With the weather (hopefully) getting milder over the next month or two, we'll finally be able to ditch our giant coats and woolly scarves in favour of some lighter layers – and fab accessories, too!

There are some gorgeous trends kicking off this season, and we've already got our wishlist sorted. Now, to find the funds…

Here are five key accessories trends we'll be living for this season…

1. Statement earrings
Forget studs and pearls, Spring 2015 is all about bling and getting noticed. These feather drop earrings are light enough for everyday wear, but they'll definitely make you stand out from the crowd!

Black Premium Jewel Feather Drop Earrings, €5 (sale price), New Look

2. Long-handled bags
Bag straps this season are either short and ladylike, or over-long with a bohemian feel. This sunshine yellow cross body satchel is the perfect size, too.

Casey Cross Body Bag, €31, Oasis

3. Precious stones
Instead of dreaming of diamonds, Spring 2015 is all about bolder stones like marble, quartz and turquoise. We love this gold pair with inset stones from ASOS.

Drop Earring, €62.86, ASOS

4. Solid chokers
Let your jewellery do the talking with a bold statement choker, like this geometric gold one from Topshop.

Cut-Out Bar Choker, €19, Topshop

5. Hippie vibes
Peace and love are back this season with colourful beading and stones appearing on everything from bags to necklaces. We're lusting after this Urban Outfitters teardrop necklace…

The beautiful Hailey Baldwin has been revealed as the new face of Topshop Jeans.

The model, whose best friends, Kendall and Kylie Jenner announced their own Topshop collaboration, only last week, stars in a new advert for the jeans.

Topshops’s Creative Director Kate Phelan had only great things to say about the rising star and her new campaign for the clothing giant: “The Topshop denim collection is perfect for Hailey. She has an energy and vitality that shows the collection of jeans and the different moods and personalities; the sexy Leigh, the tomboy Mom and the fashion girls favourite Baxter. Hailey is all these girls; she is street smart, stylish and most importantly individual.”

We agree, she is definitely selling those jeans!

Katy Perry is known for her girly and sweet dress sense with a sexy twist and rarely gets it wrong. Even when she does, she manages to pull it off!

But this? No, we cannot forgive this.

The singing superstar was seated front row at the LA Fashion Awards alongside Kanye West and Rihanna dressed from head to toe in bubblegum pink…complete with pink Adidas flip flops.

Yes, Katy Perry actually wore real-life flips flops to a fashion event. And Twitter have LOTS of feelings about the pink flip-flops:

She better be careful or Kanye might be gifting her with some fur-flops very soon!

In one way, we admire this clear laugh in the face of the fashion world, but in another way, we’re scared for Karl Lagerfeld’s reaction…

Good luck with that, Katy!

While Kim is making us all cringe in her furkini, Kendall is gracing the streets of LA looking every inch the ultimate style princess.

Dressed in what can only be described as a black playsuit with a maxi skirt 'cape'; Kendall matched her cute look with red lips and simple black gladiator sandals.

Seriously, where can we get this outfit?! Having said that, we’re not sure how it would look as we strutted down our local main street but a girl can dream…

Kendall also shared a photo of her outfit on Instagram with Scott Disick looking slightly bemused in the background as she shared: “shopping with the Lord.”

Kanye, Kanye, Kanye…runners we could deal with – but THIS?!

In what may just be the most impractical creation that has ever existed, the rapper has designed a bikini, but not just any old bikini. It’s made of fur. Yes, fur.

It gets worse. He somehow managed to convince his wife, Kim Kardashian to actually model the creation.

Kim shared the snaps from her skiing holiday, writing: “Furkini by Kanye.” Kim styled her furkini with a pair of fur boots and captioned another of her Instagram photos: “Boots with the fur” because, duh.

We just really hope nothing died in order to be a part of this monstrosity!

In other Kim Kardashian style-related news, the reality TV star shared her unhappiness at having to wear a helmet skiing with her followers recently, obviously feeling it ruined her look, writing: “My friends made me wear a helmet skiing and I was not happy about it but feel it's more safe and I'm into it now if you can't tell.”

Deciding to pan out in the cinema for a night of relaxation is always ruined when you realise you’ve forgotten the cardinal style rule for a night at the flicks; stretchy, stretchy, stretchy.

When you’re in a pair of jeans that are cutting off the circulation to your brain (well, they will be after a wheelbarrow of popcorn anyway) you can kiss goodbye to a chilled-out evening.

Here, girls, is all you need to do and wear for a trip to the cinema. Take note!

Hair

Loose is the only way to go here, ladies.

Who needs bobby pins digging into their heads when they’re trying to get their flake on?

Pants

Like your hair, we’re talking loose, loose, loose.

Ok, so pyjamas are ‘technically’ frowned upon, but could you possibly ditch the ones that sport sleeping sheep and get away with that black pair? Who would ever know?

T-shirt

Hoodies are normally considered the go-to guy in cases of major chill- fests, but you’re playing with fire here. What if you get too hot and all you have beneath is a skimpy cami?

Ladies, you need to opt for a cotton T-shirt (optimal breathing material) for when your nacho sweats kick in.

Outer wear

Like we said, ditch the hoody in a stuffy cinema.

Go for a soft, long sleeved cardigan, your arms stay warm but the open-buttoned lay-out of your standard cardigan accommodates any food baby issues.

Footwear

Considering all of the above, you’re not really going to want to team your killer heels with that sassy ensemble.

Cons all the way.

Now your sexy ensemble is complete, go eat and flake your heart out.

It’s common knowledge that the world of fashion isn’t exactly open-minded when it comes to the definition of “beauty.”

With such a severe gap in the number of plus-size models (or anyone over a size zero) on the catwalks and on magazine covers, it’s no surprise that the fashion industry falls down in other ways, too.

A recent investigation by style site The Fashion Spot focusing on the number of people of colour featured on the covers of style magazines has highlighted just how difficult it can be for models to gain recognition if they do not fit the “perfect” ideals. In a survey of 44 major print publications from 2014, it was found that models of colour featured on just a fifth of covers during the year.

To make matters worse, certain magazines used only white models on their covers. Vogue UK did feature more than one group cover including models of different ethnicities, but writer Gillian Forbes noted that the magazine “hasn't featured a woman of colour on a solo cover in 12 years (Naomi Campbell got that honour).”

The piece was later updated to note that celebrity models including Beyoncé, Salma Hayek and Rihanna had featured on Vogue UK covers in the last 12 years, but that no other fashion models of colour had featured except for Naomi Campbell.

Of course, Vogue UK’s editors could argue that they are simply featuring the models of the moment, regardless of skin colour, weight or any other factor. However Gillian also notes that “one of Britain's most prominent and in-demand models, Jourdan Dunn, wasn't afforded a cover, despite her impressive body of work and overall popularity. Yet Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss were given two covers each… If a high-profile black model isn’t afforded a major cover in her own country, there’s a problem.”

Vogue UK is not the only magazine to be slated in the research – Vogue Russia, Paris, Ukraine and Teen Vogue also featured only white models on solo covers, as did Harper’s Bazaar US and UK. Coincidence… or selling tactic?

Fashion media has come a long way in recent years, but it’s disappointing to see these magazines fall down in such a big way.

It’s true that designers and publications are extremely strict about their choice of model – you just need to look at the body shape that dominates the catwalks to see that – but it’s distressing that the same strict decision-making might apply to something as basic as skin colour. Surely we have moved beyond that kind of small-minded thinking by now?

In this day and age, diversity should be a given, not something that is so glaringly lacking in so many industries.

In winter we're forced to cover up our lovely outfits in giant jackets and coats. So if anything needs to stand out, it's our accessories – specifically, our handbag.

Whether your bag is purely for show or whether it contains your entire life (laptop, wallet, make-up, tampons…), it's an essential for any style-conscious lady.

Here are a few we're dying to get our hands on this season…

1. The clutch
Unless you're seriously minimalist when it comes to personal possessions, a clutch bag is strictly for nights out, but it beats carrying your giant leather handbag through a nightclub any day.

Hard Glitter Clutch, €52, Warehouse

2. The shopper
A hold-all, functional bag will see you through well into next year. We love this leather and suede mix one:

Leather Suede Lucy Shopper, €69, Oasis

3. The satchel
Perfect for accessorising your winter woollies. How gorgeous is this structured burgundy one?

Panel Satchel, €29.99, New Look

4. The "holds everything, and I mean everything" bag
It's an overnight bag, an airplane carry-on and everything in between. We all need a bag with seemingly endless capacity for storage. So what if you need to replace the zip every once in a while?

Pebbled Faux Leather Tote, €25.45, Forever 21

5. The budget buy
If you're the kind of girl who wears a different bag with every outfit, budget buys are your best friend. We're in love with this navy snakeskin number:

Contrast Shopper, €22.99, New Look

6. The backpack
Festivals, nights out or general day to day wandering around – a backpack will see you through.

Pile Backpack, €29.99, H&M

7. The obligatory expensive one
A girl can dream…

Michael Kors Bedford Zip Top Satchel, €350, Brown Thomas

We’re all still reeling from the sudden death of veteran comedienne Joan Rivers, but as they say in Hollywood the show must go on.

Talks have been ongoing since Joan’s death in August regarding her replacement on style show, Fashion Police, and it has been confirmed that Kathy Griffin, Joan's on-screen daughter in 90’s TV show Suddenly Susan, will be the woman to take her place.

Kathy Griffin, a comedienne and TV presenter in her own right, was offered the position last month but was unsure if she was going to take it, saying “I don’t know if the situation is correct at this time for me or right for me at this time.” Seems like the fifty-four-year-old red head has thought it over and decided to go for it. We think she made the right choice!

Aside from a new presenter, the show on E! which made its screen debut in 2010, will be undergoing a format change. Instead of our weekly dose of catty comments and fashion tips, the programme will only air during award shows and other high profile events. Aw sadface!

Kathy will be joining regular hosts Kelly Osborne and Giuliana Rancic on the popular show and we’re sure her outrageous sense of humour will be a perfect fit.

This season it’s all about the long bob, and the simple easy to manage style has become a favourite for many celebrities.

If you are looking for a haircut that is easy to work with, doesn’t require too much work and looks amazing, then this is the style for you.

Here are our five favourites this season:

Kate Mara
House of Cards actress Kate Mara’s long bob looks effortless but no less stylish.

Jourdan Dunn
Jourdan Dunn is known for her high fashion catwalks and the way she works this long bob is simply stunning.

Kerry Washington
While it is a little bit longer than the others, this would be a great style for those who are not yet ready to embrace anything shorter.

Taylor Swift
Taylor's style is very classy showing that the long bob doesn't need to be simply straight.

Beyoncé Knowles
Beyoncé adds depth and texture to her long bob by dyeing it light on the bottom.
