The ladies seem to be delighted with their new gig and Sue told The Mirror: "I'm thrilled to be co-presenting Let's Sing and Dance for Comic Relief, not least because it will finally show the world why I was voted West Penwith's Krumping Champion."

Mel added: "Since leaving the Royal Ballet twelve years ago, Mel is really looking forward to getting back on her points and showing the brave Comic Relief celebrity dancers how to split leap and ball change."

Even after all the stress they went through with GBBO, it's good to see the ladies still have their humour!

Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief will be on BBC One next year ahead of the UK's Red Nose Day.

Beloved Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins revealed this week that she has been living with a brain tumour.

The TV personality opened up about the tumour, which thankfully is benign but has prevented her from being able to have children, in the new issue of Good Housekeeping.

"I’m lucky that it’s benign so it’s not in itself a worrying thing," Sue said of the growth, discovered eight years ago during a health check-up during filming for another TV show.

"Sometimes it’s big and makes me mad, and sometimes it’s small and is in the background. Sometimes it screws up my hormones. I have various tests now to make sure the side effects aren’t too onerous."

Back in 2007, Sue was filming a show called The Supersizers in which she ate foods from different eras, with doctors conducting tests to see how they affected her body. Luckily this meant the tumour was discovered in good time, as the 45-year-old confesses she had been neglecting her healthy in many other ways.

"I was at a point where I was spending so much of my life doing TV that I only found out about my real life through a television procedure. I didn’t have the time to go to the doctor in real life," she admits.

And while the growth on Sue pituitary gland is not life-threatening, the fact that it has affected the production of various reproductive hormones and in turn her fertility has not been easy to digest. Sue admits that it became particularly tough to cope with when her Bake Off co-star Mel Giedroyc became pregnant for the first time.

"When she [Mel] had her first child I thought: this is an experience I won’t have or share. You’ve gone somewhere I can’t go. You think it is going to destroy something, but actually it hasn’t destroyed anything – we have very different lives and different experiences now."

Sue and Mel's friendship spans 27 years. The pair meeting for the first time while studying at Cambridge University and went on to star in the comedy troupe Footlights together.

"I don't know if I would have gone on to have children," Sue admits. "But as soon as someone says you can't have something, you want it more than anything."

Sue Perkins had taken to her blog to post a letter that described her heartbreak and guilt following a tragic loss.

The 45-year old presenter of The Great British Bake off had penned the tribute to her dog Pickles, a beagle, when he had to be put down. The canine was suffering from cancer and Sue described the guilt she felt at “having you killed.”

Though it has been a year since Sue’s beloved pooch passed away, in recent days the letter has been circulated widely on social media.

“This is NOT a eulogy. Quite frankly Pickle, you don’t deserve one, because, as you are well aware, your behaviour from birth, right up to the end was unequivocally terrible.”

Sue wrote ‘A letter to Pickles’ in January last year and it has been viewed almost 100,000 times.

The comedienne labelled the post with a warning: “this contains graphic scenes of pet adoration.”

She described Pickles as both her best friend and protector. While it does have some light hearted moments, although no innuendos about soggy bottoms, it is also making us feel a lot of feelings.

One reader commented: "I haven't cried this much in years."

While others were able to share in Sue's grief:

“I didn’t ever believe that something as alive as you could ever succumb to something as ordinary as death… How could you be sick when you ran and jumped and played, day after day?”

Any pet owner can imagine the pain of having to let a long-time companion go and Sue manages to put it into words incredibly well.

Sue hasn’t been put off bringing a new dog into her life though. This time she says she would look into a rescue pet.

Between this and Mary Berry’s spoiler slip-up yesterday, the people of GBBO are just putting us through the emotional wringer. We need to sit down.

Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins has admitted she is giving Twitter a break after she became the subject of a cruel online bullying campaign.

Sue is currently in India on a filming trip and said she was shocked to discover the awful messages being tweeted from the UK, stemming from rumours she was set to replace Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear.

Jeremy was recently fired from the show after getting into a verbal altercation with a producer in public. In the last week or so, Sue had become the bookies' favourite to replace him, although neither Sue or the BBC had confirmed it.

In fact, Sue denied the rumours completely when a fan asked her if she was indeed in the running to replace Jeremy:

Earlier today the presenter took to social media to express her hurt and anger at the reaction to the idea of a woman presenting Top Gear, and said she had received hundreds of cruel comments including death threats.

"Guys, post the utterly fabricated story about me & Top Gear, my timeline has been full of blokes wishing me dead…" she wrote.

"This morning, someone suggested they'd like to see me burn to death."

Sue then announced that she was quitting Twitter for the foreseeable future, writing, "All of which goes to say that I am off Twitter for a bit. Love and peace x"

Such a horrible and unnecessary situation – we hope Sue returns soon.
