Zara has a trophy item every season, a piece that flies off the shelves thanks to it's chic, staple style credentials.

This month, Instagram has been saturated with a certain Zara biker jacket, and we're jumping on the hype.

It's the colour of the jacket that really catches the eye, with the soft faux leather adopting a pastel pink hue.

A post shared by LARA IRA. (@lara_ira) on

You may recall this jacket's cousins of style seasons past, which came in blue and mustard and dominated the high street during their reign.

However, it's now summer and pastels are the way forward, plus adding a pale shade to a tough edgy piece like a leather biker jacket is one way to a girly softness to the look.

A post shared by Paulina Krolikowska (@nomen.rosae) on

The jacket is undoubtedly gorge, and thanks to the fact that the leather is faux, it's also relatively inexpensive.

The jacket comes in at €59.95, which for a staple jacket is a pretty good investment.

You better grab this trophy piece by the lapels before it sells out, because if Instagram is anything to go by, this jacket is the must-have piece for summer.

You're finally heading away on a summer holiday.

You've saved (or splurged) your money, bought all of your summer clothes; suncream, sandals, sarongs, the works. It's going to be great, right?

Until you take a step off the airplane and realise that you are indeed an Irish person and can't even deal with the heat.

beach, drinking, drinks

The sweat, the frizzy hair… the bikini rash. Here are seven things that will happen to you when you head away on a HOT summer holiday:

1. Your hair might as well be a blanket wrapped around your neck

Bets are, you just got your hair done before going on holiday. A new cut and colour. Fabulous.

Except 30 minutes in it feels like your dog came on holiday with you and you're carrying him around on your neck.

The sweat gathers, you become sticky and you give up. Goodbye freshly styled hair. Hello messy bun.

2. Blisters, blisters everywhere

During your holiday shop, you probably bought an array of glitzy new sandals and flip flops.

And you probably think you look super chic while talking a stroll down the boardwalk on your first day.

But by the end of the day, your feet are red and throbbing. Then you wake up the next morning with a mighty blister on your heel. Not good.

3. Sunburn

You've planned it all out. You'll wear factor 50 suncream for the first few days and then move down to factor 20 in the hopes of securing a nice tan.

Except that tan probably never comes. And your shoulders get burnt. And your scalp is red and flakey.

Then your bra straps rub against the burn on your shoulder… and just, ouch.

4. Frizzy hair

Yep, back to the hair. Since you've had it up in a top knot for basically the entire holiday, you decide to wear it down one night.

You blow dry it and straighten it. Hell, you even put some serum in it to make it look super shiny.

Fast forward three hours later, you look in the mirror and resemble Chewbaca. Brilliant.

5. The bikini rash

You've no doubt trimmed, or in some cases, totally got rid of your lady garden.

Since you had your hair done before the hol, you didn't have enough cash to head to the beauty salon too, so you shaved down there.

It looks fab for the first few days… and then it starts to grow and gets SUPER itchy. The rash forms… and shorts to the pool it is.

6. Damn bug bites

You don't notice ANY bugs near you for the entirety of your holiday. But hey, there's a bite on your leg…

Another pops up on your arm… oh, another one on your heel.

And let's be honest, you're going to scratch the life out of yourself because there is literally no itch like it.

7. Sweaty Betty

You practically sprayed your whole body with extra-strong deodorant, but you still end up a gross, sweaty mess.

Your face is sweating your make-up off, you have dark patches under your armpits, and your T-shirt is stuck to you.

Yep, you thought you'd be super glam on this holiday, but the minute you got off that plane, the glam disappeared.

But still, no matter how much of a mess you look, it turns out to be the holiday of a lifetime.

Soak up the sun, drink all of the Sangria and eat all of the glorious food. Because they're the great things you'll remember when you look back.

Okay, so it's been teasing us for weeks, but it looks like summer could finally be here.

After an underwhelming week of overcast skies and showers you'll be happy to know that the good weather is set to return with Met Éireann promising ''drier, brighter, fresher weather'' in the coming days.

Monday will see some scattered showers, moderate southwest winds and evening temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees.

Cloud will remain until Tuesday morning before clearing in the afternoon, making way for sunny spells and highs of 20 degrees.

The warm weather is expected to remain from Wednesday to Friday, with most areas enjoying sunny conditions.

It's looking like Wednesday will be the best day of the week as temperatures set to reach up to 23 degrees.

Hello summer!

The sun isn’t a regular visitor to these isles, so when it does make the odd appearance we flock to beer gardens and beaches across the counrty only to pick up a few extra freckles and rosy cheeks along the way.

Yesterday saw highs of 20C and lucky for us the good weather is set to continue until Thursday this week.

According to Met Éireann, the beginning of the week be dry and mild with highs of 19C expected on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, things are set to take a turn for the worse later in the week.

Clouds and showers are forecast for Thursday, however temperatures are expected to remain in the low-mid teens.

This weekend will ‘’be cool and more changeable, so there will be some rain or showers at times. Temperatures in the mid-teens at best, often lower, in moderate occasionally fresh south to southwesterly winds.’’

But hey, with the few days we’ve had, dare we say summer is almost here?

Love gin?

Well apparently, so does the rest of the country, because there are a number of gin festivals being held on the Emerald Isle this summer.

Here's a low down of all the best ones we have found:

1. Irish Gin & Tonic Festival

The Irish Gin & Tonic Festival is returning to Ireland this summer.

Running from June 25 to July 1, the nationwide celebration of some of Ireland’s best gin is back.

Any licensed bar, restaurant or hotel in Ireland can get involved by showcasing one of the many festival Irish gins served with a tonic of their choice for the week of the festival, and registration for the festival is free, so encourage your favourite bar to get involved.

2. Ginfusion

Ginfusion is coming to Dublin, and will be residing at the Bernard Shaw.

Celebrating and showcasing a host of different ways to enjoy the versatile beverage, the event will run across four days and nights on the June bank holiday weekend.

And best of all? Admission is FREE.

3. The Burren Slow Food Festival

So we all love gin, but we also have a penchant for cheese, and this festival brings the two together.

Taking place on May 12 to May 14, the festival promises to bring together food producers, chefs and writers for a weekend of talks, demonstrations and workshops.

4. Ranelagh Gin Fest

If you have a hankering for gin ASAP and can't wait until summer, then the Ranelagh Gin Fest, on April 28 to May 1 could be for you.

As well as being located in one of Dublin's most pleasant areas, the G&Ts at this festival are far from overpriced, at a very reasonable €6.00.

Hosted by The Hill pub, there are a number of delicious concoctions to try.

Now that it's the summer holiday season, it's time to start planning your next vacay.

And while booking a hotel for your summer getaway isn't the most important aspect of your trip, there's a pretty simple way to get a swanky upgrade.

Just think; a big room with a view beats out the box room that you have to travel five flights of stairs to get to, right?

adult, architecture, beautiful

According to experts, the best way to get an upgrade is to book your hotel directly through the hotel's website.

Many of us opt to use external booking sites, but it turns out that hotels actually reserve their best rooms for their own website.

Why? Because many third-party sites charge a 10-30 per cent commission to hotels which use their services.

A former hotel manager told The Sun: "A lot of hotels punish people for booking through third-party sites. They don’t like paying the commission and would rather you booked with the hotel directly.

bedroom, door, entrance

"The consequence is that you get the worst room within the room category you book a lot of the time," he added.

Many experts also noted that hotels will be more likely to give you "perks" if you book through their own website too, like free Wi-Fi or free breakfast.

Our advice? Check out the price-comparison websites beforehand to see which hotels fit in your budget, and then book through the hotel directly.

Now, you're sorted.

Summer is fast approaching and that means so are our summer adventures.

But one thing that always comes between us and our adventures is those dreaded blisters and cuts from wearing the wrong shoes.

It happens year after year, holiday after holiday, and we still haven't learned to buy the right footwear.

Fashion over comfort doesn't always work so well, huh?

But now, FitFlop has launched its new SS17 flipflop, and all of our prayers have been answered.

Not only do they look super slick, but they have iQushion technology, which is lightweight and also contours into the shape of your foot.

FitFlop uses biomechanics in its footwear; a science that applies mechanical principals to the human body.

But is putting so much science into a pair of flipflops really worth it?

Hell yeah, if you don't want to have burning, sore, blistered feet at the end of the day.

The mechanics of this shoe pays attention to the pressure points and pressure lines of your foot, which means you get all day comfort.

Well, that's us sold.
