Ladies, we're in for a good weekend with the temperature reaching as high as 18 degrees (which we all know is MEGA hot for Ireland).

So, to celebrate the fabulous sunshine, we've come across strawberry jelly shots – and they look SO divine.

In a video posted by Delish, they use a jell-o mix, but you can just made jelly as normal by melting it down.

Then add some rum (YUM), some lime, pour it into hallowed out strawberries and refrigerate for three hours. Simple.

Add some sugar at the end and you'll possibly have the tastiest brunch ever. Watch the video here to see how it's done:

We tentatively got the barbecue and sun cream out of storage last week as some sunshine began to peek out from behind the clouds, and now it looks as if the sunny weather is here to stay.

After a pretty dreadful May and early June, last week's sunshine kicked off the beginning of the Irish summer with temperatures hitting up to 20C… and this week's forecast promises even more sun.

According to Met Éireann, temperatures as high as 22C could be on the way this week, with "little or no rainfall" in most parts of the country.

Little or no rain? To the beach with us, so…

The south and east of the country will benefit the most from the good weather this week, with temperatures of 18 – 22C expected toward Thursday and Friday.

If you're living in the west or north of Ireland though, you might want to pack an umbrella along with those sunnies as some patches of "rain and drizzle" are expected.

With a whole host of festivals on next weekend including Body and Soul in Co. Westmeath, will the good weather hold out for campers? Yes, it seems, according to current forecasts which promise "a good deal of dry weather."

We are already getting excited for what lies ahead this summer….

It’s here… it’s REALLY here!

Yes, after what is being described as the most miserable May the country has ever seen (radiators at full blast; scarves and winter coats given regular outings) it appears that the sun has decided to grace our fair land with its presence.

Cue a steady stream of ice-cream, shorts-and-t-shirts – oh, and sun-burn.

And not only does red and raw skin look (gonna be blunt here) not very attractive at all, but harsh rays can furthermore be seriously damaging and ageing.

In short, sunscreen is an absolute must at this time of year – even when you’re on home-soil.

Still, Irish weather requires an Irish-appropriate product: enter P20 sunscreen – THE sunscreen for extreme weather conditions

We know that those who are frequently exposed to UV rays before the age of 25, as well as people who get sunburnt as a child or teenager, are at a much greater risk of developing skin cancer in later life.

In fact, their risk is almost doubled – and that means slathering on a higher SPF; think P20 sunscreen SPF 50.

And why do we love P20 in particular? Its unique formula is non-greasy (hurrah!) and fragrance free (hear, hear!).

Better still, it provides great coverage, even in water, for up to ten hours, meaning it only needs to be applied once-a-day.

The P20 range consists of SPF15, SPF20, SPF30 and SPF50+ and is suitable for those with very delicate and sensitive skin.

With prices ranging from €19.99-€34.99, P20 is available from pharmacies nationwide.

Ok – we’re coming clean. We have, on occasion, stepped out without sun cream. But never again!

Watch as these people look into the camera while an ultra-violet light shines on their faces, showing the not-yet-visible effects the sun is having on their skin.

Now, where did we leave that factor 50?

After arriving into the office with humidity hair and sweaty faces yet again, the SHEmazing! girls have decided enough is enough! We've worked tirelessly to compile the ultimate list of tips and products to make you look 'Hot but not hot' while the temperatures soar.

Hair

Conditioner: The sun is going to frazzle your hair, so treat it to a strong conditioner each time you wash it. This will keep your locks in good condition, while helping them resist the humidity.

Salt spray: If your hair is very fine, it’s likely to go limp in the heat. Salt spray is a great way to boost volume and texture, while giving you beach-worthy waves. Toni & Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturing Spray is one of our favs!

Cover up: If your hair refuses to behave or is getting greasy too quickly, you can’t go wrong with a classic wide-brimmed hat, paired with Audrey Hepburn shades. A pretty scarf wrapped around your head will also do the trick.

Skin

Stay safe: Nothing says ‘sweaty mess’ quite like lobster skin – and let’s not even start with the health implications! Make sure to apply a top-notch sunscreen to all exposed skin. Ambre Solaire Protection Lotion (SPF30) is a go-to for us, although we swear by Ambre Solaire Dry Mist (SPF50) if we’re heading down to the beach.

Banish scales: With bare arms and legs on show, make sure your skin is in tip-top condition by regularly exfoliating during showers. The healthier your skin is, the nicer your tan and the healthier your glow.

Face

Waterproof eyes: No sooner does the sun appear then your perfectly applied eye make-up smudges and runs, giving you drunk-girl panda eyes. Combat this by investing in good waterproof products, such as Rimmel’s Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Liner and Benefit’s BADgal Waterproof Mascara.

Peach blush: In all that heat, your skin is going to be prone to redness, so you need to stay far away from red-tinted hues. Peach blush suits all skin tones and will give you a fresh glow.

No more sweat: A freshening spray like Urban Decay's All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray is the perfect way to cool your face down when you're feeling flushed. As well as setting your make-up, it makes your it super resistant to heat and humidity.

Now make this list your bible and be the beauty we know you are!

Rumours are spreading that temperatures will reach as high 28 degrees tomorrow!

Apparently Ireland was even hotter than the east coast of France and even certain parts of Africa today! Wow!

Forecaster Deirdre Lowe revealed though that it wasn’t sunny everywhere though as parts of the midlands and north west did experience some heavy thunder showers today.

“Today we have had some thunderstorms around parts of Munster, the midlands and up to the North West, but it’s still been warmer than usual there. Over Leinster and east Ulster there were quite a few 25s.”

But fear not as it looks like the sun will be definitely making an appearance tomorrow anyway.

Fingers crossed the hot weather will last till the weekend!

It may be hard to believe it when you look outside today, but there is a localised flood warning in place!

The warning will be initiated tonight at 9pm until 9pm Saturday night.

So, while you may be out sunning yourself today, make the most of it as torrential and thundery rain is set to begin this evening. Eek!

So you got a little too much sun yesterday? Seeing as we’re pretty sure your mother already gave out to you, we won’t do the whole ‘well you should have been wearing suncream’ lecture.

But we will offer advice on how to cool the pretty painful burn:

Aloe vera
Summer is definitely the right time to invest in an aloe vera plant. The sap from the plant is great at easing pain and soothing the skin.

Ice cubes
If it is really hot, put a handful of ice cubes in a bag, wrap it in a towel and press it onto the sun burnt area – don’t put the ice directly onto your skin you will burn it.

Yoghurt
It you have some yoghurt in your fridge, apply it to the brunt area, leave to soothe the skin for about 30 minutes then rinse off in the shower.

Teabags
Teabags are just good for dark circles. Simply apply cold used tea bags to the affected area to ease the pain.

Moisturise
Make sure you apply lots and lots of moisturiser.  You have really hurt your skin and it is crying out for some moisture right now.

Now remember, the next time you go outside, make sure you are adequately protected from the sun – a red lobster is not an attractive look.

Look, we’re not used to it ok? Cut us some slack and understand that when the sun comes out, we will lose our minds. Here are some things Irish people are known to do in those odd moments of sunshine:

1. Say things like “I’m going to get a great colour”
Yes, two choices: burgundy or scarlet. Which one are you?

giphy2. Build terrible homemade pools
Leaks, leaks everywhere…

holland-3-630x4723. Apply no sunscreen whatsoever so you get a ‘tan’
Please put away the baby oil. Please!

fPUUf4. Apply loads of tan afterwards so people think you got a lovely colour
Wow, that doesn’t look fake at all…

5. Chase the ice-cream man whose prices have risen with every degree
Remember when a 99 cone used to cost 99c and not €2? Them were the days…

6. Guys wearing their GAA shorts as swimming trunks
Yes, they do go see-through.

SierraLeone2

7. Complain about the heat constantly
Jesus though, it’s too warm isn’t it? Heh?

giphy-58. Jump off piers and bridges
Ahh pier jumping – nothing says summer like hurling yourself into a dodgy harbour.

9. Huff and puff loudly every 5-6 minutes and repeat the words: “it’s soooo hot” over and over
It’s not even 20 degrees…

10. Ice-cream suddenly becoming a staple part of your diet
Suddenly eating four ice-creams a day becomes a totally okay thing to do.

Like you’re some kind of social media meteorologist.

13. Build a potentially lethal water slide out of materials you found out back

14. Spend a week looking like this
Ah, there really is nothing like the Irish summer is there? Thank God it’s only one week a year!

It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for – Ireland’s week of summer is finally here! Apparently, we are experiencing something of a ‘heatwave’ this week.

If you think that today is hot, hot, hot, just wait until tomorrow with temperatures expected to soar up to 25 degrees.

Danielle Lowe, meteorologist with Met Eireann, spoke about tomorrow’s glorious weather expectations, saying: “Wednesday will probably be the warmest day. I predict the hottest temperatures will be around 25 degrees and it will probably be hottest in the west and mid-west.”

Time to dig the Sun Shimmer out, ladies, you’re going to need it tomorrow by the sounds of it!

Make sure to wear the SPF to protect yourself against sunburn and harmful UV rays.

We all know the risks associated with the sun, especially premature ageing and skin cancer. However, are you clued up when it comes to knowing which sunscreen is for you?

Who should wear it?
Sun cream is not just for pale ladies and everyone should wear it, regardless of whether you tan or not.

How long does it last?
It won’t last longer than two hours and less so if you are swimming. Sun cream is only water resistant and must be reapplied after bathing.

What type of suncream for me?
It is important you wear a sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.

How much should I put on?
You need to put at least an ounce of sunscreen on so that it is a layer over your skin.

When to apply?
Make sure you apply it at least 15 minutes before you step out into the sun.

What SPF?
Go for an SPF of at least 30, even if you tan and especially if you are planning on staying in the sun for a while.
