Chester Benninton's wife has shared a heartbreaking photo of the Linkin Park star taken just days before he took his own life earlier this year. 

The photo, posted on Talinda Bennington's Twitter, shows the couple and their family smiling and laughing as they spend quality time together at the seaside.

She wrote: “This was days b4 my husband took his own life. Suicidal thoughts were there,but you'd. Never kmow (sic).”

Just one week after Chester died by suicide in his California home, aged just 41, Talinda released an emotional statement in which she referred to their “fairytale life” together.

“May God bless us all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would've wanted us to do so. Rest In Peace, my love," she wrote.

His death shocked fans around the world, and in an effort to help others who may be experiencing similar mental health issues, his family have set up a suicide awareness charity.

The Linkin Park front man was buried in a private service, where it's believed around 200 relatives, friends and fellow musicians were in attendance.

Talinda Bennington, widow of the late Chester Bennington, has thanked James Corden and producers for allowing the family to decide whether an episode of Carpool Karaoke featuring the Linkin Park singer will go to air.

The 41-year-old died by suicide at his Los Angeles home on July 20, just days before Linkin Park were due to embark on a North American tour.

The singer was also due to appear in an upcoming episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series, but James Corden has said that Chester's family should decide whether it is shown or not.

Corden told the Associated Press: “We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled.

“We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want because I don’t think there’s any other way we could deal with it. It’s a tragedy.”

Talinda then took to Twitter to thank the talk show host for his comments:

The first episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series was shown on Apple Music on Wednesday.

Talinda Bennington, Chester Bennington’s wife and mother to three of his six children, has released a heartbreaking statement following his tragic death last week. 

"One week ago, I lost my soulmate and my children lost their hero – their Daddy,” she wrote.

"We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy."

"How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul? The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left. I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well. My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive."

Talinda finished off the tribute with a poignant reminder that Chester is now “pain-free singing his songs in all of our hearts.”

Since then, fellow musicians have taken to social media to share their condolences, including Chester's bandmates who released a touching statement on their official website.
