Taylor Swift

Move over J Law and Amy, because Blake Lively and Taylor Swift are our new fave celeb BFFs.

And Blake seems to really know her best friend, giving Taylor a brilliant birthday surprise.

Blake wins at birthday pies. @blakelively I honestly can't stop laughing rn

A photo posted by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on

Tay posted a snap on Instagram yesterday of a very delicious-looking pie. And sitting on top were two cats made of icing, which resembled her cats Olivia and Meredith.

The feline lover named her furry friends after her favourite TV characters, Olivia Benson from Law & Order: SVU and Meredith from Grey's Anatomy

“There's a reason ‘#friendshipgoals’ was invented because of her. Thank you @taylorswift for the happiness you bring to not only everyone that knows you, but also to those who don't — you're the real deal. Happy Birthday!” Blake captioned another IG post.

The gal pals recently spent some time together in Australia, and looking at their pictures, we WISH we could join in with the fun.

But even though Taylor celebrated her 26th birthday, it wasn't all sunshine and roses.

A new claim has been made that Taylor stole another artists work. But a spokesperson for Ms Swift made a statement to Cosmopolitan today:

"At no time during these postings did Ms Burguieres contact our office directly. Notwithstanding the huge publicity this has generated for Ms Burguieres and her store, in early November Ms Swift's office made a fair offer of payment well above a reasonable licensing fee for the short time the fan art was posted online.

"Ms Burguieres' lawyer acknowledges Ms Swift's action was unintentional, but rejected the offer. She promised to get back to us with an explanation of why she felt Ms Burguieres was entitled to more money, but she never did that and the next we heard as Ms Burguieres' new posting.

"We have tried on multiple occasions to address Ms Burguieres' concerns, but these actions make it clear to us that this is just an unfortunate effort to extract ore money and more publicity."

Taylor Swift's 1989 world tour was a hot topic for most of this year, so it's no wonder the starlet is releasing a film version of her gigs.

On Sunday, Tay gave a birthday treat to her fans and debuted the trailer to for The 1989 World Tour LIVE.

Most of it was filmed in front of 76,000 fans at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia. It captures Taylor's entire performance plus never-before-seen footage from backstage AND all of the celeb cameo appearances.

Christmas pressie, please?!

Taylor Swift dropped her album 1989 well over a year ago, but it's safe to say that most of the songs are still quite popular.

And since 1989 was such a big hit for 2015, Taylor has become pretty… protective of her lyrics.

So much so that she's gone as far as trademarking some of them. Earlier this year, Ms Swift trademarked phrases from some of her songs, including, "this sick beat," "party like it's 1989," and "nice to meet you, where you been."

Which means that anyone that writes "nice to meet you, where you been," on a Christmas card could face legal action because Tay's trademark prevents anyone from selling products with that phrase on them. Damn.

And now, Taylor has gone one step further this week in order to trademark some more words. This time she's claiming phrases, "blank space," "and I'll write your name," and "Swiftmas." Yes… Swiftmas.

But in perhaps the most shocking, Tay is trying to trademark one more phrase; 1989!

How Taylor can trademark a WHOLE YEAR that millions upon millions of people were born in, we just don't know.

But according to the Independent, she did make one thing clear; the trademark would only apply to the "stylised form." Which means she just doesn't want people using her specific 1989 design on anything else (which we guess is a little better than claiming the whole year).

Taylor isn't the only one wanting to trademark a few things though, as Kris Jenner has recently made her feelings known about one specific phrase she wants to claim for herself

It was only a couple of days ago that TMZ leaked a video of Jared Leto listening to Taylor Swift's 1989, and let's just say, he was less than complimentary.

He seemed to be kinda into Blank Space but had zero-love for Welcome to New York. He is even heard at the end of the video saying, "F**k her."

Since then though, Jared took to Twitter to apologise to Tay and her fans saying, "The truth is I think @taylorswift13 is amazing + an incredible example of what's possible.

"If I hurt her or her fans my sincerest apologies."

But now, the Hollywood Reporter has published a statement from Jared describing his motivations to file a lawsuit against TMZ for leaking the footage.

Jared's company Sisyphus Touring filed the lawsuit against the Warner Bros-owned gossip site, alleging copyright infringement.

Jared claims that the video was stolen and he contacted the TMZ team before it went up to urge them not to publish it.

"Jared's lawsuit alleges the video was shot on Sept. 8 by a camerman he hired, who then gave the video to TMZ after being promised $2,000 for it.

"According to Jared's lawsuit, the videographer later asked TMZ to not publish the video, telling them he did not own the footage," reports HR

"They chose to post it anyway," Jared said in his statement. "Let's be clear. This was stolen footage. This was an invasion of privacy. And it was both legally and morally wrong."

It's been a busy few days for Glen Hansard, for sure.

On Saturday he performed to a tiny crowd in Dingle as part of RTÉ's annual Other Voices event… but his music has reached an altogether more international stage today.

The Frames frontman has been nominated for a GRAMMY Award for his solo work, earning a Best Folk Album nod for Didn't He Ramble.

Glen's album, his second as a solo artist, was released in September of this year. The Dublin-born singer spread his wings while putting together the album, choosing to record songs in New York, Chicago and France as well as his home country.

For many musicians, a GRAMMY might be considered the peak of their career, but of course we can't forget that Mr. Hansard already has an Oscar to his name. Back in 2008, Glen and Marketa Irglova won Best Original Song at the Academy Awards for Falling Slowly, featured in their film Once.

Other top contenders at this year's GRAMMYs include Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran.

The results are in, people.

Instagram has collated the most liked posts of 2015, and to be honest the only surprise is that poor Kim didn't get a look in.

Last year, Kim and Kanye's wedding photo took the top spot with 1.4m likes, but a much younger member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan has claimed the top spot this year.

Kendall Jenner broke records earlier this year when her heart-hair photo claimed the record for the photo with the most likes EVER on Instagram. But she was almost pipped to the post by Taylor Swift, who features in the 2015 Top Ten list a massive five times.

Without further ado, here's the leaderboard…

10. Kendall Jenner: 2.2m likes
Kendall both finishes and starts this year's list.

It's one thing we look forward to year on year – DJ Earworm's annual pop music mash-up, featuring the most bangin' tunes from the last twelve months.

From Taylor's 1989 singles to Adele's comeback, it's been a busy year for pop music, and the 2015 mash-up is definitely a killer. In fact, it features double the amount of songs than it ever has before, with a huge 50 songs featured on the track.

DJ Earworm, real name Jordan Roseman, told Billboard that this year's mash-up is a "more eclectic mix than it was five years ago."

United States of Pop 2015 includes a massive FOUR hits from Taylor, plus Adele's Hello, Maroon 5's Sugar, Hotling Bling by Drake, Ed Sheeran's number one Thinking Out Loud, Trap Queen by Fetty Wap, One Direction's Drag Me Down and The Weeknd's I Can't Feel My Face.

Forget wanting to be a part of her squad, at this stage we just want to work for Taylor Swift.

As a special treat for all the people who worked on her massive 1989 world tour, Taylor has decided to bring each and every one of them on a spectacular, all expenses paid holiday.

That's a casual 125 people!

Because that's apparently just what Taylor Swift does.

We bet those dancers that Katy Perry nicked are not so pleased.

The 1989 tour is in it's final leg after what seems like an eternity and the last show will be on the 26th of December in Australia.

The lucky employees will be brought to an exotic resort on Hamilton Island, located in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

Seriously Taylor, can we work for you. We will do ANYTHING.

Taylor Swift's famous #GirlSquad is definitely the power crew of 2015.

Its members span careers (models, singers, actresses, writers), countries (England, USA, New Zealand) and of course boyfriends (Calvin Harris, Jack Antonoff and now Zayn Malik).

But after Jennifer Lawrence formed something of a female celeb triple threat with Emma Stone and Adele earlier this week, we're wondering if Taylor might have something to worry about.

Could J-Law and her crew really overtake Tay's Squad? Let's examine the evidence.

Without further ado, here's a rundown of Taylor and Jen's BFF situation.

Jen's Squad

Amy Schumer
Jennifer and Amy revealed back in August that they were writing a screenplay together. What's more, they apparently talk every day, with Jen calling Amy "the coolest chick ever."

Emma Stone
Okay, Emma and Taylor have hung out a few times too, but there's something about the Emma-and-Jen combo that is giving us serious friendship goals.

Adele
She's a beautiful singer and she also happens to be downright hilarious. We reckon Jen is on board with Adele's no-bullsh*t attitude, too.

Emma Watson
"Jennifer Lawrence, I love you so," wrote Emma after reading the actress's essay about the gender pay gap. And just look at them there, sharing a face-palm moment:

Taylor's Squad

Selena Gomez
Taylor and Selena have been besties for years, and have gotten through break-ups, new relationships, and some serious career drama together. They're in this for the long haul.

Karlie Kloss
Taylor calls the former Victoria's Secret model "a little ray of light". Admirably, Karlie's even okay with being a third wheel to Taylor and Calvin Harris.

Gigi Hadid
Gigi showed the ultimate BFF allegiance earlier this week when she dissed Taylor's ex Harry Styles on the red carpet.

Lena Dunham
This pair first connected via Twitter in 2012. But Lena admits, "Long before she was my friend, she was my friend in my head."

So who wins out?

Well, Taylor certainly takes the lead in terms of numbers – Lorde, Cara Delevingne, Ellie Goulding, Lily Aldridge also all count themselves as her pals – but we reckon Jennifer Lawrence wins in terms of sheer hilarity.

Adele AND Emma Stone? At one table? C'mon, people.

There ain't no party like a Taylor Swift party, am I right?! And if you're a member of the Tay Tay #squad, you can expect a very memorable birthday bash indeed.

That's what model Lily Aldridge received for her 30th birthday last night as Taylor welcomed the crew into her LA home to ring in the big 3-0. Fellow Bad Blood video stars Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid were also invited to the celebration.

@taylorswift -we just show up. Thank you for making us and all beautiful women feel beautiful

A photo posted by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

Gigi shared a few party pics on SnapChat which offered a glimpse into the low-key party. Taylor even gifted her guests with a VMA Moonman award with each of the guests names inscribed into the plaques.

Goodnight Gorgeous!!! @taylorswift Love you #Badblood #Vma #MoonMan

A photo posted by Lily Aldridge (@lilyaldridge) on

And the outcome of this? A Bad Blood dance party with the Moonman, because it doesn't get much better than that, right?

Taylor's beau, Calvin Harris, also attended as he was given photo credit for a very funny cat snap:

We don't know about you, but we'd love to be in Taylor's girl gang!

We've seen celebrities wear t-shirts featuring famous supermodels, and other stars even wear clothes that show off their significant others, but it takes a real star to wear herself on her clothes.

That's what Taylor Swift did in her latest outfit choice. Yep, the singer wore an ensemble that spelled out her own name.

The one-piece (which actually looks like a three-piece) consisted of the aforementioned top, a waist-tied shirt and a skirt – and it's from her own collection for Heritage66.

But Ms Swift is no stranger to promoting herself on her clothes and here are five times that prove it:

Good aul Tay Tay has played a blinder this year. Not only has she taken on music industry bigwigs, performed with some of the biggest acts in music and had Ryans Adams cover her 1989 album in its entirety (that has gotta earn her some hipster street cred), but she also had a lawsuit against her dropped with the judge quoting her OWN LYRICS in the closing statements. Respect.

We know this girl is making some serious waves in the music industry but we have also closely followed her style and boy has her hair been on quite the journey.

Join us as we chart Tay's transformation from doe eyed country star to bona fide pop royalty by looking at those oh so important hair moments.

2002

A fresh faced 12 year old, Taylor wore her blonde locks in their natural waves.

2003

Ooh girl, work that country chic. It's easy to forget sometimes where Taylor come from, but the cowboy hat and purple velvet make it pretty clear. Taylor had her hair grown long with classic layers framing her face and exuding her youth.

2004

At 14, Taylor moves to Nashville to begin her singing career as a country star. With a penchant for satin, velvet and denim, the young singer keeps her hair natural and tousled.

2006

Tay becomes the youngest artist ever to sign to the Sony record label and releases her debut album at 16. She starts to refine her look to match her budding popstar status by defining her luscious curls and smoothening the hair.

2007

The red lip and the stripped back style: here is a taste of what would become the Taylor that we know and love! She was still rocking her curls au natural and letting them lightly frame the face.

2008

Gaining worldwide momentum now, Taylor rocks up to the 2008 MTV VMA's still sporting those trademark curls.

2009

And game changer! Taylor opts for a refined look by sweeping her curls in a low chignon style, side bun. Gorgeous.

2010

And BAM. Goodbye curls. Taylor dramatically changes up her look to coincide with the release of her third album, Speak Now. She embraces a dramatic fringe and straightens out her curls into a sleek, layered style.

2011

They may not be her natural curls, but Taylor still liked to whip out soft waves for special occasions such as the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. She is finally starting to embrace that dramatic lip we love so much.

2012

The Red album release, the red lip, the fringe. There's our Taylor.

2013

Killin it, Swifty.

2014

In a blink and you'll miss it moment, Taylor has chopped off her hair, dropped the biggest album of the year, 1989, and releases hit single, Shake it Off. We were definitely obsessed with her choppy, shoulder length bob.

2015

And in 2015, Tay pretty much took over the world. Still sporting her chic bob, she now likes to wear her fringe swept over to one side. We love it… PLEASE let us be in your #squad, Tay.
