Remember when Taylor Swift was gifted a knitted jumper with her own picture on it by one of her fans?

It was quite a sweet (although interesting) gesture, and we had honestly believed that the obsession with Tay-Tay had peaked at that point. Little did we know that Taylor was in fact keeping a secret from many of us:

Taylor is actually a novelist.

Now, can you just imagine how many copies that would sell? The queue would be out the door at bookshops around the world, we are almost 100 per cent certain.

In her recent GQ interview, Taylor just so happened to drop this nugget of information as she chatted about books. Her book to be more specific.

If you were hoping for an in-depth post-mortem of those famous relationships of hers, then unfortunately you’re going to be left mildly disappointed.

A Girl Named Girl, still in the possession of the 25-year old’s parents, was written when she was just 14. It was about a mother who wanted a son and instead had a girl.

So, what happened to her writing career? Obviously she’s still writing music, but what about the books?

Around the time Taylor wrote the unpublished novel, her family moved to Nashville which was in order to jump start her music career.

When asked if they hadn’t moved she hadn’t become a hugely successful singer, she reckons she would still be using all of her ‘words and ideas’.

“I would have gone to college, and I would probably be involved with a form of business where words and ideas are at the forefront. Such as marketing.”

One Direction's new single Perfect dropped this morning, and a certain pop singer is going to have a lot to say about it.

The track was supposedly penned by Harry Styles, and it seems he's finally attempting to get his own back on Taylor Swift for those 1989 slurs.

Taylor's songs I Wish You Would and Out of the Woods are strongly believed to be about her short-lived 2013 relationship with Harry, and Perfect is a pretty vicious comeback.

The single was played for the first time on Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show this morning – you can hear the full track below.

One line reads, "If you’re looking for someone to write your break-up songs about / Baby I’m perfect" – a thinly veiled hit at Taylor who is known for using previous relationships to fuel her songwriting.

Another line, "And if you like midnight driving with the windows down," bears a striking similarity to a line in I Wish You Would – something which fans have been quick tp pick up on. 

Game on.

All those lavish costumes must take quite some time to perfect, as the theme for next year's Met Gala has already been announced.

The Metropolitan Museum Of Art confirmed last night that the 2016 red carpet event will have a futuristic theme, with the official title of Manus X Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology.

The gala, due to take place on May 2 on next year, will kick off a three-month long exhibition under the same theme at New York's Costume Institute.

Anna Wintour will act as official chair for the event – as she has done since 1995 – and will work with Vogue staffers to oversee the benefit committee and 650-strong guest list of stars and philanthropists.

Honorary co-chairs this year include Taylor Swift and Idris Elba, though we can hardly imagine they'll be sweating too much over seating charts and flower arrangements.

Last year's theme, China: Through The Looking Glass, brought costumes back in time as it examined China's influence on Western fashion through the centuries. 

Rihanna certainly had the most memorable look on the night, making the cover of Vogue's special Met Gala edition in her yellow Guo Pei fur-trimmed gown.

Beyoncé also showed off her slimmed-down figure in an incredible sheer Givenchy gown – with rumours she intentionally arrived on the red carpet last to ensure the cameras got a good look.

As for Kim Kardashian, she was equally stunning in a skintight Roberto Cavalli fishtail dress, accompanied by Kanye in a… velvet suit.

Despite her stunning look, Kim was controversially snubbed by Anna Wintour, not even making the list of names on Vogue's special cover.

We cannot WAIT to see next year's red carpet looks.

Well, we didn't see that one coming. 

The great women of Skit Box, an all-girl comedy group, have partnered up with viral lip-sync stars SketchShe for a parody video – but be warned, it has a very morbid twist. 

It begins with the three women rocking out to Taylor Swift's hit song Bad Blood in a car, with a very co-ordinated lip-sync routine. 

But then things get dark (like scary dark) when their car crashes. The message "don't lip-sync and drive" then flashes on the screen. 

The graphic video has already racked up over 1.4m Facebook views. 

Now, we all know the ladies of SketchShe are typically parked in the park when perform their videos, however, this sketch is just one of the growing number of videos taken behind the wheel and it's a message that drives home the need to ALWAYS concentrate while driving. 

It's a bold move by SketchShe to kill off all their characters in a comedy sketch, but they certainly got their point across.

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris aren't going to let any rumours get in the way of their romance.

Reports last week suggested Taylor had dumped Calvin after discovering he had gone for a "happy ending" massage in LA.

Although the Scottish DJ was indeed pictured leaving a Thai massage parlour, he has hit back at claims there was anything sinister going on.

After posting and then deleting a tweet last week about journalists who "make up stories," the How Deep Is Your Love hitmaker took to social media again last night.

"It's not going to be a 'happy ending' for everyone I sue for defamation of character for all these bullshit stories bye bye," he wrote, with Taylor favouriting the tweet soon after.

And while Calvin's other half has yet to speak out about any split rumours – or even about the relationship itself for that matter – her BFF Selena Gomez was happy to do the talking for her.

Asked in a radio interview yesterday if things were indeed over for Calvin and Taylor, the singer replied, "This is honestly so stupid." 

She seemed taken aback at the suggestion of a break-up, saying, "What?! Oh, I don't know. I think I would have found that out.

"I didn't even know – is that a rumour?"

Just last week, Taylor took to Twitter to rubbish claims she was "getting married" in England, posting this in response:

Seems like these two are getting sick of the constant press attention surrounding their romance.

In the aftermath of the 2014 Grammys – Taylor Swift was certainly courting plenty of attention, though not necessarily for the right reasons.

Although she was a performer on the night – as well as a high-profile nominee – the 25-year-old ultimately didn’t walk away with a coveted gong.

Worse still, video footage caught her bitter disappointment as it was announced that Daft Punk had beaten her, scooping the Grammy for Best Album.

"When they announced the Album Of The Year winner it was like, 'And the album of the year goes to… Reeeeeandom Access Memories, Daft Punk!'” Ms Swift has now explained.

“And they really dragged out the reeee…”

As her own nominated was entitled Red, there was understandably some momentary confusion. “For a second there, I kind of thought we had it, and we didn't.”

The disappointment meant the singer-songwriter wasn’t in the mood for partying. “I remember not going to afterparties,” Swifty added.

“I went home and I cried a little bit, and I got In-N-Out Burger and ate a lot.”

The songstress furthermore explained that prior to the ceremony, a load of fellow attendees had told her that she was definitely “gonna win”.

"I wish they wouldn't do that because you don't know if you're gonna win – someone else could very well win."

To add insult to injury, the Trouble singer in the aftermath sparked countless memes which captured her distress.

However, Tay-Tay went on to state that not winning a big award can actually prompt better music: "You can say, 'Maybe they're right – maybe I did not make the record of my career.'

“Maybe I need to fix the problem, which was that I have not been making sonically cohesive albums.

“I need to really think about whether I'm listening to a scared record label and what that's doing to the art I'm making."

Having spent five months (and counting) on stage for the 1989 World Tour, Taylor Swift is no doubt looking forward to some free time come December.

But the singer has revealed she'll be taking more of a holiday than expected – in fact, she's planning an official hiatus from music once the tour ends.

"I think I should take some time off," she admits in the new issue of NME.

While the personal space might inspire some new music, the singer concedes that equally it might just be a break from songwriting altogether.

"I'm going to hang out with friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don't know," she said.

"People might need a break from me."

Indeed, while Taylor has broken a tonne of records over the last twelve months, including releasing the fastest-selling album of the last decade, not all the reaction to her growing fame have been positive.

Earlier this year the singer publicly clashed with Nicki Minaj on Twitter, following Nicki's complaints that her video for Anaconda didn't get an MTV VMA nomination.

Nowadays Taylor says she takes a more direct approach to such conflicts, contacting the person involved directly instead of publicly calling them out.

"I send text messages now. If there seems to be some kind of misunderstanding, I go to someone's management, I get their number and I text them," she explains. 

"It's an important lesson for anyone to learn in 2015."

Sounds like the singer is more than ready for a fresh start.

Seven months in, Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift's relationship is still going strong, as one of them took great pains to point out on Twitter this week.

The couple have been dogged by rumours that all is not well for them of late, including one report suggesting Calvin had visited a "happy ending" Thai massage parlour in Hollywood.

That story has since been removed from various media sites, but Calvin clearly wasn't happy to hear it in the first place.

In a (now-deleted) tweet yesterday evening, Calvin wrote, "I don't know what the guy who makes up stories for newspapers looks like but it's probably similar to this."

Posted alongside the tweet was a snap of Calvin and a man wearing novelty glasses.

While the tweet no longer appears on Calvin's account, it was of course screenshotted by some eagle-eyed fans. Calvin's not the only one who's been hitting back at false newspaper reports, though.

Just last week, Taylor took to Twitter to rubbish claims she and Calvin were "getting married" in England, posting this in response:

Despite her quick defence, the other half of the 'false' story did turn out to be true – Taylor did indeed purchase a €24m Beverley Hills mansion last week, though she tried to keep it quiet from the press.

We doubt it'll be secret for long, as Taylor will hardly be able to resist posting some snaps of her new abode to Instagram.

Earlier this week, Taylor Swift took to Twitter to deny reports she had purchased a new home in Beverly Hills, but it turns out she was trolling us all.

A new source confirms that the singer did indeed sign the deeds to a stunning $24m mansion in the 90210 postcode area, contrary to this tweet:

The sprawling home was previously owned by Samuel Goldwyn… and the fact that his surname was the 'G' in MGM should give you some idea of the level of real estate luxury we're talking here.

Just look at that front patio…

With seven bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and a hectare of land, the new home is certainly an investment.

And there's no denying it could accommodate a family should Taylor be thinking of settling down with boyfriend Calvin Harris.

The mansion also boasts a library, a card room, a gym, a theater with 35-millimeter projection screen, gardens, a sunken tennis court, a swimming pool, and a pool house with a kitchenette.

In order to throw the press off, Taylor bought her newest home using a company in Nashville as a masked buyer.

However Perez Hilton reports that the company is in fact registered to Taylor's address.

The Goldwyn Estate is Taylor's second Beverly Hills pad – she bought a €3.6 million country-style house there back in 2011.

As well as her Californian properties, Taylor has a two-unit duplex apartment in the Tribeca area of New York, a €16m beach house in Rhode Island, plus a penthouse and a three-hectare estate in Nashville. 

Jealous, us? Never.

Taylor Swift has been having an amazing year.

Her star-studded 1989 tour has been delighting fans around the world, her romance with DJ Calvin Harris made every couple want to lounge poolside with an inflatable swan- and then there is of course her celebrity girl squad.

 

Tay-Tay is beloved by her fans. She reaches out to them through Tumblr and on more than one occasion her advice has had a huge impact.

In response, her fans want to make sure Tay knows how much they appreciate her. SO, they send her some of the most hilarious and outrageous gifts ever.

Taylor doesn't just receive gifts however. She has been known to gift her fans with some incredible presents herself. She explained  in an interview with the Telegraph why she goes above and beyond for her fans:

“I love them. They are cool and smart and hilarious and focused on the right things. I want to make the most of this cultural relevance or success or whatever you want to call it, because it’s not going to last.” 

Which explains her 'Swiftmas' experience last year, when she showered her fans with hand-wrapped gift throughout the festive season.

We don't know whether he's on Katy's side or just doesn't like Taylor's music, but Niall Horan is after majorly dissing Taylor Swift in a recent interview.

During a playful interview with CapitalFM, One Direction’s Niall Horan decided to diss Harry Styles’ ex, Taylor Swift.

When asked who he liked better, Niall picked Tay’s bitter enemy, Katy Perry, instead of her.

Ouch.

He may not have meant to drag her down but there’s may be some bad blood between Taylor and the One Direction member. Niall was forced to choose between Taylor and her arch rival, Katy Perry, 30 and as it turns out, it wasn’t that hard of a decision for him!

“Katy P,” he said, looking pretty confident in his choice. While that may be a tough decision for mostly anyone, Niall made it look easy.

You can even hear Louis say, "good choice" after Niall picked the Fireworks singer.

Niall might have also been showing gratitude to Katy. She was the swing vote that kept him on X Factor, reports J-14. 

If Katy didn’t show support for Niall, he may not have gone on to join the biggest band of the world, so perhaps he was being thankful?

Taylor Swift's gang of fierce gal pals has taken over the red carpet lately, but there's one celebrity you won't see hanging out with them.

Singer Rihanna says she has no intentions of joining Taylor's crew, because it simply doesn't "make sense."

Asked by NME if she would consider joining Tay-Tay on stage for one of her 1989 gigs á la Karlie, Kendall, Cara and co, Rihanna had a pretty clear answer… No.

"I don’t think our brands are the same: I don’t think they match," she explained.

"I don’t think our audiences are the same. In my mind she’s a role model, I’m not."

While RiRi is happy to stay out of the gang for now, Taylor admitted in the September issue of Vanity Fair that she needs her Girl Squad "now more than ever."

Despite the amount of female stars that Taylor counts as BFFs (check the Bad Blood video for proof), she has no problem keeping in touch with them all.

"My friends and I text every day," she said.

"That’s 20 to 25 girls. We know when everybody’s in New York, who’s in town, who’s in L.A. Being a huge group of girls who love each other, we know where everyone is… I’ve never had this before."

As for Rihanna, she might not be part of the Bad Blood crew, but she certainly has a Squad of her own, made up mainly of solid childhood friends and colleagues, like her long-time PA Jenn Rosales and her oldest gal pal Melissa Forde.

What they lack in numbers, they make up for in swag…
