Taylor Swift is famous for her close interactions with many of her fans, from inviting them to her home to paying off their student loans; she’s basically the best best friend ever.

Now, Taylor has proved herself once again after she defended one of her fans from a cruel taunt by an online troll.

Lucy Ashton shared a video of herself opening a package from the superstar singer and when someone left the mean and unnecessary comment "UR UGLY TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST", Taylor didn’t delay in replying to the troll, writing: “NO, ANONYMOUS. NO.”

Even when she says so little, she says so much!

Lucy told Buzzfeed that the response by her hero instantly made her cry: “I immediately started crying and contacted all of my friends that I had met through Taylor and Tumblr. There was definitely just lots of crying and smiles that night.”

We just love how Taylor keeps an eye on all of her fans and sticks up for them!

There's nothing worse than being caught unawares giving it socks to your favourite song… but at least no-one would ever publish it online. Right? RIGHT?

This policeman's hilarious Taylor Swift tribute was caught in full on his car's dashboard camera, and his cruel colleagues have posted the entire thing to YouTube.

We know he might be more than a little embarrassed today, but we have to say, those are some FLY moves!

Taylor even submitted her own official feedback of the poor cop's performance, posting the video on her official Twitter account and instantly bringing the view count up into the millions:

There are certain celebrities that we just KNOW we'd get on so well with, if we could only meet them. Emma Stone, we're looking at you.

If there's one celebrity that has managed to cover a lot of ground when forming new friendships, it's Taylor Swift. We're sure she's a lovely girl and all that, but how can one person have so many BFFs?!

Ok, we wouldn't look quite as good in a leotard and cape, but we could still have had a GREAT time.

But we love to cuddle! Sadface.

3. That time she snapped her Dad casually strolling around with the Haim sisters
NBD.

4. That time she and Lorde took a cookery class together
WHY did no-one invite us?

5. That time her and Ed Sheeran drank tea from cups tailored to their personalities.
This one makes us especially jealous because we love tea, and we love Ed Sheeran.

6. That time Beyoncé and Jay-Z rocked up to her 25th birthday party
Can't even.

7. That time the "whole team" hung out at Sarah Hyland's party
The "team" includes Ellie Goulding, Lorde, Kelly Osbourne and Hailee Steinfeld, BTW. In case you weren't envious enough.

8. That time she and Lena Dunham made flower crowns together
This is too much for our little hearts.

Taylor Swift has been embracing the single life over the last few weeks, but a couple of months back it did seem as if she might have a new man on the scene.

The singer was said to be forming a budding romance with Matt Healy, the British frontman of rock band The 1975, and although the pair were never pictured out an about together there were a few telltale signs. Not only was Taylor spotted hanging out backstage at once of Matt's concerts, but the pair even swapped official merch – Matt was seen sporting a 1989 t-shirt while Taylor wore a cropped 1975 top while shopping in New York. Modern love, eh?

With no other spottings over the last few weeks, we naturally assumed things were over before they'd even began, but a source close to Matt says different! "Things have quieted down drastically between the two only because of Matt’s tour responsibilities and Taylor’s crazy schedule," said the insider.

"But he is going to be done and back in the states for two big opportunities to win back Taylor’s attention and heart." 

Taylor and Matt are reportedly still in touch, and Matt is prepared to make some big gestures to show the Shake It Off singer that he's serious about her. "They still talk and he is fully aware that if he wants something to continue he may want to really go all out during these moments and be with her. If he isn’t then its pretty much finished," said the source.

Hmmm… either Matt's slightly delusional or he really does have a chance… hard to tell!

It’s been two years since Taylor Swift and Harry Styles broke up after a four month relationship but it looks like things are far from friendly between the two!

In a video released by TMZ, the pair can be spotted inside the lobby of the Sunset Marquis Hotel in LA having what can only be described as a very awkward encounter. As Harry appears to enjoy a friendly conversation with one of Taylor’s group, the pop star can be seen staring intently at her phone and doing her best NOT to look at her ex.

We actually love how Taylor is basically all of us when we meet our exes out. 

It looks as if all of those rumours about them getting back together were very false. Unless something has happened since that we don't know about?! Ooh…we're already looking forward to Taylor's next album!

Fans of the Twilight series will be delighted to hear that one of the film's male stars is single once again!

Actor Taylor Lautner, known for his role as Jacob in the vampire film series, has split from his long-term girlfriend Marie Avgeropoulos.

​Taylor's epic body transformation from flab to abs between the first and second Twilight film had every female fan pretty excited, but in 2013 Taylor was snapped up by fellow actress Marie after the couple met on the set of action movie Tracers.

The pair split at least two months ago, according to a source, who says the whole ordeal was "completely amicable."

The actor seems to be enjoying his return to singlehood so far – the insider says he is "dating and having fun. Nothing serious." However it seems Taylor might be looking for someone VERY different this time – there are unconfirmed reports on gossip site Radar Online that the star was recently spotted in two different gay hotspots in West Hollywood, The Abbey and Mother Lode. Hmmm…

While they were together, Taylor and Marie were notoriously private about their relationship, only rarely making public appearances together and always keeping a low profile when out and about. 

Prior to meeting Marie, Taylor was seeing his Abduction co-star Lily Collins, and he also briefly dated Taylor Swift after the two met on the set of Valentine's Day. We wonder which co-star will be next?!

It's never easy bumping into an ex, especially if things ended badly! Poor Taylor Swift apparently got a bit of a shock on Sunday night when she spotted Jake Gyllenhaal at a Golden Globes after party in Los Angeles.

The pair briefly dated back in 2011, but it seems Jake got cold feet, dumping poor T-Swift over the phone just before Christmas of that year. Ouch! Taylor reportedly went through a hard time after the break-up, so it's no surprise that she wasn't exactly delighted to spot Jake at the party.

An onlooker at the party said that the singer made a quick exit to the bathroom after Jake appeared. "She wasn't dancing… but I saw her grab her friend's hand and repeat, 'We have to go. We have to go,'" said the source.

The star apparently spent much of the night hiding out in the bathroom, being comforted by friends Dakota Johnson, Rita Ora and Cara Delevingne among others.

"The four girls were together and Taylor was having a mini meltdown. Cara's arm was around Taylor, calming her down as Rita looked on. They were talking extremely closely," said the same source.

However another attendee at the party mentioned that Taylor did stop to chat with Jake during the night, introducing him to some of her giant gaggle of friends, including the Haim sisters. 

Whatever went down, at least Taylor escaped having an awful "bumping into your ex while in sweaty gym clothes" moment – the singer was looking undeniably gorgeous in her bright yellow dress!

It has been reported that Selena Gomez threw a tantrum at her best friend Taylor Swift’s 25th birthday party in New York recently.

In the super-awkward allegations, Selena is reported to have screamed and shouted about Justin Bieber, with a source revealing: “She shouted, ‘No one understands me! My boyfriend doesn’t even understand me!’” Other guests were said to have been made to feel awkward throughout the whole incident, and Sam Smith reportedly 'just stared [at her]'.

If the rumours are to be believed, then we really hope Selena is okay, because this does not sound good at all.

Taylor’s birthday was a huge A-list affair, with Queen Bey and Jay-Z in attendance, and HAIM, Karlie Kloss, 5 Seconds of Summer and Kelly Osbourne also showing their faces to celebrate with the star.

If we weren’t already majorly jealous of Taylor’s Swift’s beauty, talent and fortune, the photos from her 25th birthday bash are sure to tip us over the edge.

Yes, while our birthdays usually consist of us binging on cake and wine with a few of our nearest and dearest, Taylor played host to music royalty for her big night.

The Shake It Off singer took to Instagram to share a photo of her party guests, and one glance is enough to show that she threw the coolest party in town last night.

As well as bestie Karlie Kloss; Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Sam Smith and girl band Haim were also in attendance at the Swift soiree.

Taylor echoed all our thoughts with her caption, which read: “So this is being 25…#WHAT #bestbirthdayEVER.”

Taylor apparently kicked off her birthday celebrations at the New York City Jingle Ball, before bringing the party – and a host of fancy guests – back to her apartment.

Love the tartan two-piece. Love her. Happy birthday, Taylor!

Soooo… Taylor Swift is coming to Dublin! Next June that is, but we're already getting excited! 

Here are some things we reckon Taylor might get up to in Ireland during her stay:

1. Walk around St. Stephen’s Green like it's Central Park looking totally immaculate and feed the ducks

2. Fall in love with the guy who served her a (half) pint of Guinness and then write a song about him

3. Have a meet and greet with a fan that goes a little something like this:

4. Visit George’s St. Arcade holding her handbag on her wrist

5. Randomly show up outside Ed Sheeran’s extended family’s home with baked goods

6. Buy the vintage dress you tried on last week and look perfect in it. It looked like a potato sack on you – how is this possible, is this magic?

7. Go to Penney’s and buy the most ridiculous dressing gown she can find

8. Take photos at the top of Killiney Hill – even though you can’t imagine her actually climbing it

9. Call into Bono’s for tea afterwards and bring baked goods (that she made, obvs)

10. Go to a gig in Whelans and have a bit of a boogie
