Liam Hemsworth has made his first statement regarding his break up with Miley Cyrus, which was announced last weekend.

Posting to Instagram, the actor wrote that this will be the only statement he will make on the matter, and wished for only positivity for his long-time lover;

Cyrus and Hemsworth announced their split seven months after they wed, after dating on and off for almost 10 years after meeting on the set of The Last Song.

Hemsworth has maintained a silence on social media since the frenzy began worldwide over the news. The 29-year-old's comments came after it was reported that he told Daily Mail Australia;

Cyrus has been posting to her Instagram followers, writing cryptic notes about progress and personal change;

"Don't fight evolution, because you will never win," she wrote, adding that "change is inevitable."

"Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once underwater, connected with Africa, change is inevitable."

The Mother's Daughter singer added; "My dad always told me; 'Nature never hurries but it is always on time'….It fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. A rep for the singer said last Saturday;

"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.

"They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."

The drama is absolutely exploding in Hollywood over Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's divorce.

The 26-year-old Mother's Daughter singer and her longtime lover Liam have split after nearly eight months of marriage, but photos then circulated online of Miley kissing Kaitlynn Carter during their Italian holiday.

His The Hills co-star Brandon Thomas Lee commented on the post, rather cheekily; "Let's round this scandal out and post a pic of us making out."

"Watch out," Brody replied with a crying-laughing emoji. "Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon."

Miley and Brandi Cyrus went on holiday to Lake Como in Italy with Kaitlynn Carter, and have been sharing pictures of their hangouts all over social media.

"Rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby," Carter captioned one picture, featuring the Hannah Montana star. To which Brody responded, "Hot girl summer."

A source previously told E! News that Brody and Kaitlynn were never legally married, despite tying the knot in Indonesia last June.

"When we met you were 19, today you are 29… I thought I could share some of my favourite things about my favourite dude in honour of this very special day," she began.

"The way you look at me, the way you look at our dogs…our pigs…our horses, our cats, our fish," she continued, emphasising his love of animals, which she shares.

 The pair initially began dating back in 2009, but split up for a number of months with busy schedules and conflicting locations. They were reunited in 2012, and have been going strong ever since.

Congratulations to the ecstatic couple, and happy birthday to the baby Hemsworth. His 35-year-old older brother Chris also made sure to post a gas message;

"Happy birthday Liam you little legend. Some would say you're occasionally absent minded and prone to distraction but clearly this picture tells another tale. Love ya mate," the actor wrote. LOVE IS ALL AROUND US.
