Irish rugby legends Ronan O’Gara and Jonathon Sexton managed to put aside whatever rivalries they supposedly had on the pitch for a very worthy cause.

The duo have teamed up the fundraising body of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, CMRF Crumlin, for the No. 10 Fund.

The fund was launched in order to raise much-needed funds for the Children’s Heart Centre in Crumlin. The name was inspired by the player’s battle for the Irish No. 10 jersey.

The Munster-Leinster rivalry acted as the inspiration for the campaign which is hoping to build a new Cardiac Day Unit complete with vital life-saving equipment.

Proceeds will also be invested in life-saving research to help some of the country’s sickest children.

CMFR is confident that can reach their target of €756,000 for this latest campaign.

Ronan and Jonathon are urging the public to get behind the campaign and help change the young lives who need treatments the hospital can provide.

Every year… 

• 120,000 Children and their families come to the hospital
• 80,000 Children attend as out-patients
• 30,000 Children attend our A&E department
• 25,000 Children are treated as day cases
• 23,000 Children are admitted as in-patients
• 15,000 Paediatric surgeries and 15,000 procedures are carried out
• 550 Open-heart surgeries are performed on children each year
