Irishman Louis Walsh definitely rocked the X Factor boat this morning when he called out his former co-star Cheryl Fernandez-Versini as "lazy" and "irrelevant," but she's already getting her own back.

Louis reportedly opened up to Heat magazine about his fellow judge, saying, "Cheryl wasn’t great last year. She’s sometimes lazy and lacks energy… She needs to give more, she can give so much move. She’s irrelevant these days."

Ouch.

Not one to take criticism lying down, Cheryl has already headed to Twitter to share her true feelings for Louis, posting a series of tweets just now in an attempt to clear things up:

"I am beginning to wonder if Louis has some kind of an obsession with me," she wrote.

"I mean this is every year whether I am or am not a part of the show…and btw… This is the same man asking me what he should say to contestants on our way to the stage bc 'he doesn't know.'"

Finishing up, Cheryl added, "Dear Lou Lou. Try using your mouth to say something positive abt something positive."

The public spat comes just one week after it was confirmed Louis would not be returning to this year's X Factor, though Cheryl's seat is still safe for the moment.

Dermot O'Leary, Mel B and Xtra Factor presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford have also been axed from the upcoming series.

It's going to be a very different show this year, that's for sure.

Since her big comeback on Strictly Come Dancing, it’s safe to say that Caroline Flack has her pick of jobs right now.

While she’s currently busy shooting the new series of The X Factor with partner-in-crime Olly Murs (hurray!), word on the street is that she’s eyeing up another big role.

Yes, it seems that the unstoppable Caroline has set her sights on the West End, and she’s apparently sizing up the part of Roxie Hart in Chicago in the new stage production of the much-loved movie.

A source shared the news this weekend with The Sun, revealing that the 35-year-old has been secretly preparing for her audition for months.

“This is Caroline’s absolute dream role. Her time on Strictly reignited her passion for performing. That’s why she’s prepared to put herself through an audition,” the source said.

They added: “She is hosting X Factor and Love Island for ITV so it’s not like she needs the work, it’s just a project she’s very passionate about. She understands the risk of the audition and the fact it means she might not get the role.”

It seems that Caroline has pulled out all the stops in her bid to bag the role, having enlisted the help of director Tom Attenborough and vocal coach Claire Underwood as part of her preparations.

Chicago is one of our all-time favourites, and we think the fabulous Caroline would rock out as Roxie. What do you think?

The X Factor is in for a big shake-up this year, with Dermot O'Leary, Louis Walsh, Mel B and Xtra Factor presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford all saying goodbye.

Now, the first look at two of the newest names to join the next series of the show has been released.

Former X Factor finalist Olly Murs will join forces with TV personality Caroline Flack to host this year's series, and they showed off their onscreen chemistry in the first official call-out for musical hopefuls.

The promo video, filmed at the first round of X Factor auditions in Manchester last weekend, shows Olly and Caroline standing on a stage surrounded by auditionees.

It might be the X Factor music or the the hundreds of screaming fans, but the new hosts definitely seem to be doing a good job of presenting so far. Take a look:

Dermot O'Leary revealed in March that he was stepping down from hosting duties after eight years, but it's thought he may have made the choice himself to avoid being fired later on.

"Dermot has known for a while that his card was marked and show bosses had said they were going to be changing the format and looking for different talent," a source close to the presenter said at the time.

“He decided to walk before they could officially axe him."

Louis Walsh also predicted he wouldn't be returning to the judging panel this year, telling TV3 last month, "I think I’m done with X Factor. I’ve done 11 seasons." As early as last year, Louis admitted he felt he was on "borrowed time" with the show's producers.

We hope Olly and Caroline know they have some big shoes to fill…

The X Factor is undergoing a serious shake-up ahead of the new series, and now yet another star revealed they were leaving the show.

Presenter Sarah Jane Crawford has announced she will be stepping down as host of The Xtra Factor, the sister show which airs live after every episode of The X Factor. The radio and TV personality only took over Xtra Factor hosting duties last year, but she is ready to pass the crown over to someone else.

Tweeting the big news last night, Sarah-Jane wrote, "Xtra factor has been amazing! However I have a new project coming up this summer & with all the changes happening I won't be back… I'm so excited to see the new line up and wanna wish them all the luck in the world… Can't wait to watch them in action!"

Although no official replacement has been announced as yet, many have predicted that Irish presenter Laura Whitmore might be in the running.

Laura was a favourite for the role last time around too, and with another year of hosting I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now under her belt, we reckon she would be the perfect candidate.

Sarah-Jane joins Dermot O'Leary, Mel B and Louis Walsh on the list of names that won't be appearing on the show this autumn, although Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell still seem to be safe.

Olly Murs and Caroline Flack have already signed on as Dermot's replacement, and looked delighted with themselves as they kicked off their new roles as co-hosts at the first round of X Factor auditions in Manchester last weekend:

We miss Dermot all the same…

It has been a whirlwind few months for reality TV fans.

First it was revealed that The X Factor was getting a huge shake up, with Dermot O'Leary, Louis Walsh and Mel B all axed from next season's show.

Now it's been officially announced that the legendary TV talent competition American Idol has officially been cancelled after a whopper 15 seasons.

The show turned Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood among others into household names, and over the years has had an incredible cast of judges including Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Ellen DeGeneres, Paula Abdul, Keith Urban, Shania Twain and Neil Patrick Harris.

US TV network FOX today confirmed the news in a press conference, saying they decided it was time to end the show on a high.

"You know, it was not an easy decision," said FOX CEO Gary Newman. "American Idol has been such a vital part of Fox for its run, and we spent a lot of time talking with producers… collectively we arrived at the conclusion that it was time to bring the show to an end."

Many have speculated that the real reason for the show's cancellation is due to falling ratings, with just 11.6 million viewers tuning into last year's season finale compared to 36 million in 2006. However the show's producers say the last season will be about celebrating the show's run rather than trying to claw back viewers.

"Next year, it’s going to be a true season-long celebration. We’re already talking about surprises we can have for the fans to make it feel special," said Newman, adding that former contestants and judges would definitely be returning.

We can't believe the show is finally over… wonder what J-Lo thinks of the whole thing?

It looks like the X Factor will definitely be facing some major changes this year in a bid to raise the ratings.

Spice Girl Mel B will not be returning for this year's show as Simon Cowell has decided not to renew her contract. A source told The Sun: "Bosses are evolving The X Factor and it has been decided Mel won't return."

However, Mel B fans don't need to worry just yet because while discussing a replacement for Mel on the judging panel, the source claims: "If they fail to find a suitable candidate there is a small chance she could be back."

“Some fans will be disappointed though as some viewers felt she was the best thing about the show last year,” the source said.

Mel was known for her straight up attitude and opinions, but missed the final of the last series.

This won't be the only change for the show as Olly Murs and Caroline Flack are replacing Dermot O'Leary as the new presenters and Louis Walsh has claimed: "I'm done with X Factor."

Saying that, it would not surprise us if Louis is back for the next series because he has claimed in the past that he will leave the show but never has.

Cheryl-Fernandez-Versini is more than likely going to be returning to the show, but Simon admits that there is nothing "set in stone" just yet. She has been offered a £2 million contract to return to the judging panel, £500,000 more than her last contract.

We really, really hope this is true…

It looks like Kim Kardashian could be moving from one reality show to another with the news that Simon Cowell is chasing her to be a judge for the next series of The X Factor.

Simon's long-time BFF Sinitta apparently put the idea in his head, and now the X Factor boss is keen to get Kim on board. Speaking to the Daily Star, Sinitta said that the idea of Kim as a judge excites her "quite a lot."

The news comes just weeks after ITV bosses revealed that there were big changes ahead for the show, and veteran judge Louis Walsh announced he'd come to the end of his X Factor journey.

"I've done 11 seasons and that's a long time in television – I don't think I'll be going back," he said on TV3's Seven O'Clock Show last week.

Dermot O'Leary also announced he would be stepping down as presenter after seven years, with Olly Murs hotly tipped to replace him.

X Factor's executive producer Richard Holloway also said that there will be "some surprises" this year in terms of judges, but that Simon's place on the panel is of course "safe."

Although Kim's family has no experience with the UK version of the show, Khloé did present the US version for one season alongside Mario Lopez.

We reckon Kim would do an incredible job as judge – we can see some spats ahead between her and Cheryl, though!

Union J singer and former X Factor contestant Josh Cuthbert is recovering from injuries after a serious car crash over the weekend.

The 22-year-old was driving through London with his girlfriend Chloe Lloyd when the car in front slammed on the brakes too quickly.

Josh was unable to stop in time and "ploughed into the car," according to TMZ.

The couple were both lucky to escape without any serious injuries, but they both had soft tissue damage to their necks and some bruising, while the car was severely dented.

Josh's mum Kathryn took to Twitter to let fans know the pair were okay, writing, "Josh and chloe are fine thanks for asking. There was a bump but both walked away. Car is a bit of a mess though!"

Chloe played down the incident, telling her followers that the crash wasn't as serious as it looked and that she and Josh were "100% fine":

Union J also includes JJ Hamblet, Jaymi Hensley and George Shelley. The band rose to fame when they first appeared as a trio on the 2012 series of The X Factor, with George added during the series.

The band are currently on a European tour and have promised fans that Josh's injuries will not affect the planned tour dates.

There have been many rumours about Cheryl’s future as a judge on The X Factor following her highly anticipated return last season.

Now, it would seem Simon has made a decision and it planning to keep Cheryl on the reality TV show ‘at all costs’.

According to The Sun, Mel B may not be as lucky as Cheryl this year: “They haven’t signed a deal yet but Simon, Cheryl and ITV are all on the same page. But that’s really bad news for Mel. She had a good first year but bosses want a new line-up.”

It had been said week following Dermot O’Leary’s shock departure that The X Factor producers were doing their all to shake things up for next year.

Does that mean that Olly Murs will step in for the much-loved presenter? Not without his BFF Caroline Flack: “The only way I would even think or talk about it would be if Caroline was doing it with me because me and Caroline were great together.”

It sounds as if things are going to be very different indeed this season!

We were pretty shocked to hear that, after seven wonderful years on the show, Dermot O’Leary is leaving his presenting gig on The X Factor.

Now that the news has sunk in, attention has turned to just who will replace Dermot, and it looks as though we have a front-runner – well, two, actually.

Indeed, after the success of their stint on The Xtra Factor, it’s singer and X Factor alumnus Olly Murs and presenter Caroline Flack who are tipped to take over.

While Ryan Seacrest’s and Marvin Humes’ names have also been bandied about already, fans of the show clearly have a soft spot for Olly and Caroline.

Indeed, Twitter users appear to be very excited at the prospect of having the pair back, with one writing: “Imagine if Caroline Flack and Olly Murs came back to The X Factor to present the main show? That would be amazing!”

Olly has also added fuel the rumour himself, cancelling his April 8th gig in Stockholm on the same day that Dermot’s departure from the show was announced.

We’ll keep you guys updated, but it certainly looks like we have some early favourites!

Former X Factor star Stacey Solomon starred on reality ski show The Jump recently, and she seemed to be getting very cosy with one fellow contestant in particular – Steve-O from Jackass.

Now, in what has to be one of the most unexpected celebrity pairings in TV history, Stacey has confirmed the pair are indeed an item.

"We're seeing each other and seeing how things go," the singer revealed to New! magazine this week.

Steve-O has even planned a trip back to the UK next month, Stacey admitted. "After the show he had a day in England because of his flights so I invited him over for dinner, he's flown back since but he's coming back in April."

Last week, Stacey shared this sweet picture of the lovebirds with the caption, "@officiallysteveo miss you doofus! #JasmineAladdin X":

"He is just the nicest person. He’s young at heart and fun like me. But he’s also very thoughtful," the singer said of her new man.

At 40, Steve-O is 15 year's Stacey's senior, but the mum-of-two says the age gap is actually an advantage. "I don't think I could find a 25-year-old male on my emotional level, to be honest," she said.

"At 25, you're still a kid – and I have two children, responsibility and a mortgage, my mindset is a lot older than 25."

We're glad to see them both so happy!
