Every now and again, a Twitter thread comes along that forces us into a loud fit of snort laughing while sitting beside a stranger on a packed commuter bus.

This my friends, is one of those.

Taking to the social network site, Twitter user Dan McDaid, hypothetically speaking, shared that if his last text message was to be written on his gravestone, it would read "I'll be up shortly" – which is most both optimistic and creepy in equal measures.

He then asked his followers to reveal there last text messages, and well, the results were hilarious to say the least.

Go on, give it a go!

In a rather sombre twist mine reads, "my heart just broke".

For the record, I was referring to a sad post I saw on Facebook, and not a serious medical problem – though it fits quite nicely.

The kindness of strangers has the potential to see you through the darkest of times, as one woman recently discovered after an encounter with her local barista.

In a post which was recently uploaded to Reddit, a coffee shop employee shared a card he received from a regular customer after he consoled her during a particularly upsetting period in her life.

"You are all too good for this world," began the note addressed to the 'Tuesday 5th Sept morning staff."

"Imagine finding out that your boyfriend has a massively pregnant wife that you knew nothing about," it continues.

"Imagine getting zero hours of sleep because you know you have to work with him and see him stupid, cheating, lying, stupid freaking face – all day."

"Now imagine going to your favourite coffee spot, ordering your favourite drink, having the team listen to your stupid problems, tell you that you’re sure as shit too good for f*ckboys like that, make sure that your drink is the best damn white coffee kicker you’ve ever had, then tell you it’s free."

Yesterday a woman came through our stand upset, we hooked her up with her drink on us. Today, we received this. from MadeMeSmile

The note goes onto explain that its writer was truly overwhelmed by the staff's generosity and kindness, adding: "I ugly cried the whole way to work. That was literally the most you could have done for me and I am so grateful for your kindness."

After apologising for 'busting out in tears', she concluded the card with a nod to the future, writing: "Please accept this seed paper as an apology and grow love with it."

Unsurprisingly, Reddit users are all over this thread, with one writing: "Wow, that's really special. I hope everything turns out alright for her."

"Whenever you perform an act of kindness, however small, you never know how much it might affect other people. Good on you and your coworkers."

"People just need to know they are heard and they matter. Whether it's your time or your coffee, it shows they matter to someone." added another..

And yes, we're crying.

It's been more than a decade since Hollywood's golden couple parted ways, and yet the public is still absolutely fascinated by the dynamics of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's relationship.

Indeed, when news broke that Brad and his second wife, Angelina Jolie, decided to part ways last year, the internet was awash with memes suggesting that Jennifer Aniston was positively celebrating the news.

And while the former Friends star, who married Justin Theroux in 2015, has undoubtedly moved on with her life, recent reports suggest that the heartbreak born of her divorce still runs deep.

According to In Touch Weekly, Brad decided to reach out to Jennifer in recent days in an effort to apologise for any hurt caused during or after their marriage, and it sounds like Jennifer had a hard time dealing with the conversation.

"It was the most intimate conversation Brad and Jen have ever had," a source told the US publication.

And, unsurprisingly, 48-year-old Jen, who never made any secret of the upset she felt enduring such a high-profile break-up, struggled to keep her composure during the exchange.

"Jen was overcome with emotion," the source continued. "All the hurt feelings and resentment she'd suppressed for years came flooding to the surface, and she broke down in tears."

In addition to apologising to Jennifer for being an 'absentee husband' during their marriage between 2000 and 2004, Brad reportedly 'made amends for leaving her for Angelina'.

As publications like The Economist denounce the President of the United States for his lacklustre reaction to racial tension across the United States, social media has acted as a platform for members of the public to discuss the narrative surrounding the various acts of violence being perpetrated across America.

As people from varying political backgrounds and affiliations argue back and forth over the difference between 'black pride' and 'white pride', one particular explanation has stood out among countless others, with hundreds of thousands of Twitter users sharing it online.

"A common and seemingly reasonable argument for white pride or white nationalism is "why can't I be proud of my culture?" the post began.

"Well, you can," it continued. "Always have been able to."

"We have Irish pride celebrations, we have German drinking festivals, we have Serbian food festivals. Any European culture you can of has multiple organisations in North America dedicated to taking pride in their heritage and no one gives them sh*t."

"But, you see, when you start talking "white pride", that's not a culture," the post explained. "That's a skin colour. There is no white culture, never was. There is no pan-European culture, never was. Europe is a continent, not a culture or ethnicity."

"Now, some of you are probably about to go "But wait! Black pride! How is that okay?" Well, easy. Go find a black person and ask them if their ancestors were slaves."

Reminding social media users that black people were enslaved and had their cultures taken from them, the writer says: "They can't have Liberian pride or Congolese pride, or 'insert African country' pride because they have no f*cking idea where their ancestors came from other than the broad region of West Africa."

"Meanwhile us white people can often trace our ancestors to specific cities and regions." the writer continues. "I can trace my mother's maiden name to a single f*cking village in Ireland. I know where I come from. I don't have white culture, I have Irish culture."

"So, that's why white pride makes you an asshole, but black pride actually makes sense."

The post has been shared widely across social media over the course of the last 24 hours.

As the viewing public geared up for the latest series of Celebrity Big Brother, there seemed to exist a general consensus that as contestants go, Girls Aloud member, Sarah Harding, was up there with some of the most high-profile.

Bearing that in mind, it's perhaps no surprise that the singer's time in the house has been under serious scrutiny from fans of the show, and it's fair to say that the former popstar has garnered her fair share of headlines in a relatively short period of time.

The latest controversy to surround Sarah is the suggestion that she 'slut-shamed' Fifth Harmony in a conversation with fellow housemate, Chad Johnson.

Claiming that the Work From Home singers 'wear next to nothing' on account of the fact 'sex sells', the 35-year-old came in for a barrage of criticism from fans of the US girl band.

And now Instagram is fairly sure that Sarah's former band mate, Nicola Roberts, has shaded the Celebrity Big Brother contestant in a recent social media post.

Sporting a cap emblazoned with the caption 'Women in Music Are Dangerously Underestimated', Nicola added her own message, writing: "And that's why we have to support each other."

And that's why we have to support each other.

A post shared by Nicola Roberts (@lilcola) on

Nicola's timing with her post provided her followers with ample opportunity to suggest that the 31-year-old was aiming her message at her former bandmate.

"Good for you Nicola for being against slut shaming unlike Sarah who slut shamed on TV," wrote one of Nicola's followers.

"Yes women empowerment," added another. "No slut shaming here."

However, not everyone is impressed by Nicola's post, with some fans of the singer berating her for not showing Sarah more support during her stint on the controversial reality show.

"This is insensitive, you should be supporting Sarah," wrote one while another added: "No support for Sarah.. Good call NOT… Team Sarah."

We wonder if Cheryl will throw her a like…

It might seem like aeons ago, but there was a time when feminine hygiene products completely and utterly baffled you.

You may have seen them stored in your bathroom cupboard or squirrelled away in your mum's handbag, but aside from giving them a cursory glance, you didn't tend to give them much thought.

So, it's no surprise that when this particular eight-year-old girl found a pad in her sister's handbag, she struggled to see how she could incorporate it into her make-up routine.

Luckily, this kid was blessed with serious smarts, and didn't let the unknown product confuse her for too long.

Twitter user, Jaiden Park, took to Twitter this week to share the hilarious footage of her younger sister foraging for cosmetic supplies, and the internet is in absolute knots over it.

Commenting on the post which has amassed 38,000 likes so far, one Twitter user wrote: "The way she looks at it like 'Right so what do I do with you?'"

"She actually inspects it so seriously, I'm dying," added another while someone else remarked: "I can't count how many times I've watched this and it never gets old."

Ladies, that is gold.

An open letter addressed to 'Glastonbury', which was shared on Twitter by a woman named Laura Whitehurst, has gone viral in recent days, and seeks to highlight the lengths the festival's organisers went to in order to protect and care for the victim of a sexual assault.

In the deeply moving acknowledgement, Laura explains that she and a group of friends had managed to get their hands on tickets to the iconic event for the first time, and were hugely excited at the prospect of attending one of the world's biggest known music festivals.

However, in a sickening turn of events two months before Glastonbury 2017, Laura was sexually assaulted by two men in the group she was due to attend the festival with.

"At the crisis centre the next day, as I lay sobbing on the table being photographed and probed by 4 nurses, I received a barrage of phone calls and threats from certain friends telling me to go home, to not report it," she wrote.

"Telling me that no it wasn’t consensual but ‘don’t ruin the group’ and ‘don’t ruin Glastonbury for us all.’ The nurses were asking me to report it to the police, but I was receiving 15 voicemails a day with threats from these friends, and with every threat received, another inch of my fight would disappear."

Having gone to the police and endured a lengthy interview in the aftermath of the assault, Laura was advised by a police officer to contact festival organisers to explain that she would be seeking a refund for her ticket.

"I was gutted, but we agreed for my own personal safety whilst investigations were ongoing, it was the best route to take," she wrote.

Upon his advice, Laura contacted the organisers and recalls receiving a response from "an amazing human being – Marianna" who assured her that the Event Operations Lead would be in touch.

"I received a call off Adrian a few days later. Adrian is an ex police officer, and asked me to tell him what happened. It felt difficult disclosing the details over the phone to a stranger, but he made me feel at ease," Laura explained.

"He told me he would do everything in his power to make sure I could attend the festival, and would put a safeguarding procedure in place to ensure I could."

"He contacted the DC at the police station dealing with my case, and together they devised a plan. Despite the fact he – as the Events Operations Lead – had one of the busiest jobs in the world weeks before the festival, he dedicated himself personally to me."

Laura's letter goes on to explain that Adrian sent her "a car parking pass in the post", so she wouldn’t have to get the coach with the friends who had been threatening her.

"I arrived at the festival with Tom at 8am on the Wednesday, and pulled into the staff car park, far away from where the rest of the revellers would be arriving. I was asked to call Marianna at this point and let her know I had arrived," Laura explained.

"Marianna arrived, with a beautiful girl named Kerry driving a security vehicle, and both greeted me with the loviest hug someone driving through the night could ever ask for."

"They helped us load our stuff into the van and told us to jump in. We had no idea they were going to take us anywhere, we were prepared for the long, sweaty trek to the queue like the rest."

"They drove us up the the gate, and got out with us, with all of our things. At this point my anxiety was through the roof, I was looking over my shoulder frightened of catching glimpse of the perpetrator and their friends," Laura revealed.

"Marianna noticed my worry, took my hand and walked us up to the security guard at the front of the queue. They had a quick chat and he ushered us right through, Marianna making sure she didn’t let go of me the whole time."

Laura goes on to explain that Marianna gave her a letter which she could provide officials with throughout the weekend.

"The letter was from Adrian addressing whomever received it that ‘the bearer of the letter must have her requests for her safety taken seriously and she must be taken to safety immediately.’ I was asked to carry this letter, along with a list of numbers, with me throughout the whole festival, just in case."

"I was also passed two hospitality wrist bands, one for Tom and one for me. These offered us a space behind the Pyramid and Other stage which had quieter bars only accessible to hospitality wrist band holders so in case I became overwhelmed or needed a place to clear my head a bit, I had it."

"They dropped us off at a camp where they wouldn’t expect our friends to be, and took us to our reserved spot behind the stewards, who were all briefed about the circumstances. They all greeted me with hugs and helped us carry all of our things from the van and get ourselves set up."

At this point in Laura's post, she reveals that the hospitality and understanding she was shown by Glastonbury officials brought her to tears, and she insists she will be forever grateful for the time and effort they put in to ensuring she enjoyed her much longed-for weekend.

"I was safe. I was really really safe," Laura said.  "I didn’t feel like a victim, I felt like someone who had finally been to Glastonbury."

"So, this letter is to say, thank you. God I wish there were a stronger sentiment. Not many people would be aware of the amazing work you did for me – you didn’t do it so you could write about it, or get a pay rise, or for glory, you did it because you really cared."

Concluding her post, Laura sought to remind her friends and followers that there is significant strength to be found in the kindness and compassion of strangers.

"Sometimes when you lose all hope, the unbelievable and altruistic kindness of strangers can help give you the strength to keep fighting. I have met some really awful humans in my life, who have killed my spirit and, in all honesty, made me feel life wasn’t worth living anymore.'

"So, Adrian, Marianna, Kerry and the rest of the team, I hope you see this. If you don’t, I hope you know that you made a difference, and you made me feel like a survivor again."

Creeping around in the background of the vid, Karli's husband attempted to shimmy between the cupboards and the kitchen counter before abruptly regretting his decision.

And while Karli rushed to her husband's aid after the sickening thud caused her to turn around, that didn't stop her uploading the footage to get her own back on his attempted photobomb.

"When your husband attempts a sweet move to photo bomb your workout video, and it totally backfires," she wrote in a post which has been viewed more than 26,000 times since its upload.
