Before landing the role of Ross Geller in Friends, David Schwimmer had studied acting at Northwestern University and treaded the boards in LA.

In an effort to hone his craft, a young David would regularly engage with other people and happily draw inspiration from day-to-day situations, but this all changed after Friends hit the big time in the mid 90s.

Stunned by the level of fame he was experiencing at the height of his television career, David recently admitted that he began to withdraw – something which went against everything he had been taught during his days in university.

"As an actor, the way I was trained, my job was to observe life and to observe other people, so I used to walk around with my head up, really engaged and watching people," he told the Hollywood Reporter.

"The effect of celebrity was the absolute opposite: it made me want to hide under a baseball cap and not be seen," he explained. "And I realised after a while that I was no longer watching people; I was trying to hide."

After becoming a household name along with his five co-stars, a 27-year-old David struggled with the implications of their overnight fame.

"It was pretty jarring and it messed with my relationship to other people in a way that took years, I think, for me to adjust to and become comfortable with," he admitted.

Attempting to reconcile the actor he was before hitting the big time and the actor that emerged from the hit sitcom took David some time.

"So I was trying to figure out: How do I be an actor in this new world, in this new situation? How do I do my job? That was tricky," he said.

Since finishing his last coffee in Central Perk, David has starred in a number of shows, mostly recently earning an Emmy nomination for his role in The People v. O.J Simpson: American Crime Story.

It's rare you hear Ellen DeGeneres coming under fire for anything, so when she does find herself on the receiving end of public criticism media outlets really do sit up and pay attention.

As the darling of daytime chat shows and the queen of all things Oscar-related, Ellen has barely put a foot wrong since her star ascended in mid-nineties, but it looks like the day has come for the 58-year-old star.

Taking to Twitter earlier this week, Ellen shared a photoshopped snap of herself and Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt, and joked that she was going to require Usain's assistance for all future tasks.

Pictured riding on the back of the Olympic gold medallist, Ellen wrote: "This is how I’m running errands from now on."

While the vast majority of Ellen's followers took the post in the manner it was intended, a vast number took exception and wasted no time calling the star out on the racist connotations of the photograph.

"You thought it'd be funny to post a pic of yourself riding on the back of a Black man? Nope," wrote one. "Delete this racist garbage."

"This is utterly f*cking ridiculous. How dare you!?" slammed one while another added: "Ellen, your whiteness is showing."

Responding to the accusations, Ellen swiftly attempted to placate social media users, insisting: "I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country. It is the furthest thing from who I am."

Unfortunately for Ellen, not everyone was satisfied by her follow-up tweet with many demanding an explanation for the post.

Having carved out a hugely successful career for herself in spite of initial gender-specific criticism, one would be forgiven for thinking that Kim Kardashian would happily consider herself a feminist.

But as the audience at the BlogHer conference learned earlier this month, that is not a label which sits too comfortable with the mother-of-two.

"I love to support other women, but I’m not the ‘free-the-nipple’ type girl," she explained at the time.

Hailing from a predominantly female family with a strong matriarchal presence, many were aghast that Kim would be reluctant to wear the Feminist badge proudly.

Responding to the discussion which was ignited as a result of Kim's off-the-cuff remark, the 35-year-old penned a piece which offers an insight into her perspective on the situation.

"For me, a feminist is someone who advocates for the civil and social rights and liberties of all people, regardless of their gender; anyone who believes that women should have the same choices and opportunities as men when it comes to education and employment, their bodies and their lifestyles."

And while Kim says she obviously wants to do all these things while empowering and uplifting women, she shies away from labels.

"Why do we have to put labels on things?" she asked. "You’re Republican, you’re Democrat, you’re bisexual, you’re plus-size, you’re poor, you’re a criminal, you’re a mother, you’re a feminist."

Kim insisted that over-simplication is the issue, continuing: "I’m a human being, and I have thoughts, feelings and opinions about a lot of different things."

"I don’t need to be defined by those beliefs, just as much as I don’t want to be set apart from – or viewed as being against – those who DO define themselves by those beliefs," she explained.

The KUWTK star  clarified her position by adding: "The fight for equality is about ALL human beings being treated equally – regardless of gender, sexuality or ethnicity."

And now we know.

Look, we're as big a fan of Carpool Karaoke as the next person… unless that person is willing to kidnap James Corden in order to recreate the segment, that is.

And then we're officially out.

The Late Late Show's super-popular music segment has gained a global following, and it looks like some people will do anything – even break the law – for their 15 minutes with the king of the carpool.

Speaking to The Wrap, the 37-year-old British star explained that while at home in London, he was accosted by a group of teenagers who forced him to take part in their own British version of the segment.

"I was crossing the street in London a few weeks ago and there were these four kids," he explained. "They were like 18, 19. They sort of forced me to get in the car."

Having clearly ignored everything he was taught about stranger danger as a child, James went with it, and ended up having an impromptu Carpool Karaoke session with a group of randomers.

"They all had their camera phones out and we were just singing along to the radio. I was like, 'Am I being kidnapped?" he recalled.

Not exactly James, but not far off.

Teen Mom 3 star, Mackenzie McKee, welcomed a baby boy yesterday, but it sounds like the reality star endured considerable stress in the run-up to her child's birth this week.

Taking to social media to ask the public for their prayers and support as her daughter prepared for labour, Mackenzie's mother, Angie Douthit, appeared particularly anxious.

Sharing a photo of her 21-year-old daughter and her husband on Facebook, Angie wrote: "Prayer alert: Mackenzie is having a c section n a few minutes." (sic)

"She is type 1 diabetic and the babies heart rate is high. He will be in the NICU for a while even though he weighs over 9 pounds, (according to ultrasound).," she continued.

Explaining that her daughter would welcome support, Angie added: "Mic is very nervous and scared. Please pray."

Thankfully, just an hour later Angie shared the news the family were hoping for, writing: "He's here!!! 10 pounds 1 ounce. I haven't seen him yet, but they r ok for now! Praise God!" (sic)

"Baby is in NICU with a navel IV and a tube for breathing," Angie told followers concerned for Mackenzie and her child's condition. "He'll be there for a few days. Please keep praying."

Social media users have responded in their droves and wasted no time wishing the family the best as they navigate the next few days.

Mackenzie, who is also mum to four-year-old Gannon and two-year-old Jaxie, has named her newborn son Broncs, and we are wishing her all the very best.

When it comes to reality television, it's no secret that the Kardashian family currently have the market cornered.

And while the family's show – and the numerous spin-offs it has had over the years – are often considered a guilty pleasure by the viewing public, that hasn't stopped them tuning in in their millions every week…until now, that is.

While countless are continuously fascinated by the world-famous family's most elusive member, Rob, it seems they're not quite ready for his solo endeavour.

And with the official sneak peek for his reality show –  featuring fiancée Blac Chyna – dropping yesterday, the public took to Twitter in their droves to slam the programme.

Commenting on the trailer which shows the tension which exists within Rob and Chyna's relationship, one Twitter user wrote: "This whole show is just wrong!"

"What's with the violence and drama: if he's texting someone else… Break up!"

"All aboard for the train wreck!" wrote another while someone else commented: "Yup. This teaser is proof that civilization is doomed."

"Seriously? Who the f**k cares about these two a-holes?" questioned yet another.

Luckily for Rob and Chyna, not everyone will feel the need to switch over once it becomes a TV regular.

Some members of the public know that a dose of reality TV when you have the Sunday Night Fear is the only thing for you.

We're with her on that one.

After two and half years together, Michelle Dockery, who is best known for her role as Lady Mary in Downton Abbey, lost her fiancé, John Dineen, to cancer.

Having been introduced by a mutual friend in May 2013, the couple began dating before becoming engaged on Valentine's Day 2015.

And while the public and press speculated about the upcoming wedding, only a select few knew that John had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer to which he eventually succumbed last December at just 34 years of age.

Refusing to discuss her fiance's death in any great detail, Michelle does, however, pay tribute to the individuals who helped her navigate the months which followed his passing.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Michelle credited loved ones for their support, saying: "No one I would name because I am very private about my private life. But friends and family see you through the most difficult times."

Giving an insight into her latest role – a petty thief in US drama Good Behavior – Michelle admits that the opening came at the perfect time as it gave her something to focus on after John's death.

"It was very fortunate for me that this came along at the right time," she explained while admitting that she considers acting 'a release'.

On the day of his funeral, Michelle described John as "my friend, my hero, my king, my everything" before singing The Folks on the Hill – John's favourite song.

It looks like the tide of opinion has changed on Chloe Khan since she was evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house on Friday.

While viewers and fellow housemates made no secret of their disdain for Chloe's antics during her time in the house, members of the public have now rushed to her defence since she left the infamous show at the weekend.

Appearing on This Morning earlier today, Chloe fielded questions from hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, and it looks like the line of questioning went a little too far from many viewers.

Referring to her relationship with Stephen Bear, Eamonn suggested Chloe may have been manipulated.

"Did you really have to do some of the things you did?" Eamonn asked before adding: "And also he's pushing your buttons. Matter of fact, he probably pushed more than your buttons."

Taking to social media to air their opinion on the CBB segment, one Twitter user wrote: "Eamonn is going WAAAAY over the top interrogating Chloe Khan, give the girl a break."

"Some of the comments made towards #ChloeKhan on #ThisMorning were totally out of order, at least she wasn't bullying people" wrote another.

Slamming the hosts for grilling Chloe so intensely, one Twitter user questioned: "Why are people giving her a hard time?"

"Ruth your coming across a little snobbish, she was a great housemate try complimenting her," they added. (sic)

He probably pushed more than your buttons? Eamonn, are you actually serious?

Since Geordie Shore drunkenly stumbled onto our television screens in 2011, viewers have been fixated by the on again/ off again dynamic between Gaz and Charlotte.

And while there came numerous points throughout the show's run that we thought Gaz and Charlotte might actually make a go of things, that came to an end when Gary revealed he was in a serious relationship with someone else.

For two whole years, Gary seemed like a changed man as he turned his back on his usual womanising antics on the hit MTV show and grew ever closer to girlfriend Lillie Lexie Gregg… until he called time on their relationship in November of last year in order to focus on his small-screen career, that is.

And whether Lillie resents the fact Gary chose Geordie Shore over her, she hasn't been backwards in coming forwards about her ex- boyfriend's on-screen love interest.

Referring to Charlotte's recent revelation that she had endured an ectopic pregnancy while carrying Gary's child, Lillie slammed the star for publicising the matter.

"I think it's disgraceful that she'd talk about her ectopic pregnancy for publicity. It's private," Lillie raged.

With word having gotten back to Charlotte that Lillie had some very strong opinions on her decision to disclose the information, Charlotte took to Twitter this afternoon to make a dig at Lillie.

"Not the best of days when a painful time in your life gets brought back up for someone else's gain," Charlotte wrote before following the mesage with a sad-face emoji.

Showing their support for Char, fans of the reality star responded, with one writing: "She has a cheek saying your a disgrace when she's using you and your story for publicity so she's lower than a disgrace." (sic)

"Don't let yourself be hurt over someone who is completely irrelevant's opinion. She's only known cos of who she's dated," added another.

"Shameless, heartless and vile, just for press," tweeted another. "Showing her true colours…needs to go back to the hole she crawled out of."

We can't see this one dying down any time soon.

Scotty T is no stranger to a case of mistaken identity.

After recently posing for a snap with former CBB housemate Jeremy McConnell, Twitter users were flummoxed to see Jez had jokingly tagged the Geordie Shore star as Gaz online. (Lol Jez, lol)

And while Scotty T paid little attention to Jeremy's 'gag', he's going to have a harder time living down his own Twitter blunder.

With classic Geordie charm, the CBB winner decided to reach out to Kendall Jenner on Twitter this morning, and failed miserably.

After sharing a photo of Emily Ratajkowski on his page, Scotty tweeted: "Right……..you are ridiculously fit @KendallJenner!"

Finishing off the post with all the tact for which Geordie Shore lads are famed, he hastagged #daymmmm and #gizalick.

Wasting no time schooling poor ol' Scotty on his international models, Twitters users flooded the reality star's page with comments.

"That's not Kendall I'm dying," wrote one while another clarified: "That's not Kendall ya madman that's @emrata."

"To be fair they are the double of each other..but no its not Kendall haha," added another.

Maybe Scotty is trying out Jeremy's approach to online humour…

The general consensus at SHEmazing! HQ is that The Fall was undoubtedly one of the most frightening series to ever hit the small screen.

And despite the fact the vast majority of us watched it through our fingers, we kept coming back for more…before losing a night's sleep in the aftermath.

Focussing on the cat and mouse game which played out between Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson in the first two series, it sounds like us viewers are in for a serious shock as we head into season three.

Commenting on his role as Paul Spector, the 34-year-old actor teased fans of the show by saying: "You can expect the unexpected."

"There’s quite remarkable turns in the third season that I really genuinely think people won’t see coming that are hugely exciting," he added.

While he reached global fame for his role as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades franchise, it sounds like Jamie credits his role as serial killer Spector for much of his success.

"You know, that job changed my life," he said.

"They’re like family to me and I’m forever grateful for it to be a part of my life and, you know, I would play that character to my dying days if I had the opportunity," he revealed.

And we'd watch him play it…through our fingers though, obvs.

Earlier this year, Colton Haynes of Teen Wolf and Arrow fame decided he no longer wanted to hide his sexuality from the public, and made the decision to come out in May.

Explaining that he hadn't felt ready to reveal that part of himself to his fans until this year, the popular actor insisted he's happier than he's ever been.

"It took me so long to get to this point, but I’m doing so good. I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and healthier than I’ve ever been, and that’s what I care about," he said at the time.

However, despite Colton's upbeat attitude, the star was concealing the fact that he had been told that his father's decision to take his own life was due to his son's sexual orientation.

In an exceptionally revealing interview with Out magazine, the 28-year-old, who came out to family and friends at 14, explained that he had shouldered responsibility for his father's tragic passing.

"But I was told that my dad killed himself because he found out I was gay," he explained. "So, of course, I lost it and was like, 'How could you say something like that."

"No one will ever really know the truth," he added.

Colton told the publication that he doesn't expect pity on account of his father's death nor the fact he was forced to consider the possibility that his sexuality was the catalyst for his passing.
