Having kept viewers on the edge of their seats wondering who killed Lucy Beale in recent weeks, the EastEnders team have now decided to shake up their casting.

The show's producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins, who believes the long-running BBC soap has the power to 'change the world', announced yesterday that he intends to introduce the show's first transgender character.

Speaking at a news event yesterday, Dominic said: "I would want to cast a trans actor too. The pen hasn’t hit the paper yet. I am looking for actors and I need the right character."

Admitting he was concerned about the sensitivity of the issue, Dominic went on to say: "We have to be very, very careful about what we say. With EastEnders you’re preaching to a lot of people who don’t want to hear about LGBT issues."

In fairness, Corrie introduced much-loved character Hayley Cropper in the late 90s, so it seems the Cockney soap has a bit of catching up to do!

There are so many great TV lovestories out there that warm our heart and make us believe in true love. Then, there are these lot…

Destructive, annoying and just downright disastrous, here are eight of TV's worst couples:

Carrie and Big – Sex and the City
They may have ended up together but Big didn't have a patch on Aiden and treated Carrie so badly most of the time. Not that she was much better, mind.

Rachel and Joey – Friends
Friends rarely got it wrong but this may have been the worst storyline of all time…EVER!

Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian – Keeping Up with the Kardashians
Anybody could see they weren't meant to be but the lavish wedding went ahead anyway…only to result in Kim filing for divorce 72 days later.

Blair and Dan – Gossip Girl
Now these two were pretty good together, that we cannot deny – but Dan isn't Chuck. End of.

Barney and Robin – How I Met Your Mother
The married couple survived a few years before getting a divorce – because we all know where Robin's heart ultimately lies (albeit controversially!)

Piper and Alex – Orange Is The New Black
Piper and Alex are very complicated and destructive so far. Their relationship is based on lies and betrayal. However, who knows what will come next season…? Could it be true love?

Jamie and Cersei Lannister – Game Of Thrones
No need to explain this one…*shudder*

Nick and Jess – New Girl
We waited and waited and then it finally happened but it just wasn't…right.

Kelly Clarkson's recent appearance on the hugely popular Graham Norton Show became a massive talking point on social media after controversial personality, Katie Hopkins, decided to take numerous swipes at the mum-of-one's weight.

Smiling broadly for the camera, the young mum-of-one wore her blond hair in loose waves and rocked a pretty banging outfit, but it looks like Katie couldn't handle the fact Kelly's figure has changed somewhat.

Taking to Twitter to voice her disgust, the notoriously outspoken Celebrity Big Brother contestant wrote: "Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen. #grahamnorton.”

Members of the public immediately leaped to Kelly's defence, reminding mum-of-three, Katie, that Kelly recently gave birth, but that wasn't enough to silence the acid-tongued Hopkins.

Determined to offend everyone on the planet if she can, Katie jeered: "Darling, if you had a baby a year ago, that is not baby weight. It is fat. Quit calling it cute names to make yourself feel better."

Suggesting we're all weak-willed if we're not in possession of a supermodel's figure, Katie taunted: "Baby weight, puppy fat, muffin top. Nope. Just fat love." Charming.

Kelly has yet to respond to Katie's frankly bizarre torrent of abuse and we hope she doesn't even bother.

We think Kelly looks fab!

Given the high-octane drama that followed Katie Hopkins in the Celebrity Big Brother house, we were certain the controversial figure would have A LOT to say once she finally left. Snide comments, catty remarks; the works.

And we were right, she certainly does have a lot to say. But it's mostly positive!

The TV personality actually gushed about her experience inside the famous house, saying: "I had a brilliant time in the house. Celebrity Big Brother has been very generous to me." If she says so…

While many contestants struggle with missing their partners and children, Katie, perhaps unsurprisingly, goes the other way, admitting: "I found it to be a sense of freedom."

Going as far as to suggest her time on the reality TV show was almost like a holiday, the star reveals: "It was quite a treat as a (nearly) 40 year old mum to be given a time when you have no worries or concerns with no one wanting anything from you. I found that quite a liberating feeling."

So, there you have it. She loved every minute of it apparently.

There is really exciting news for fans of The Great British Bake Off as it has been revealed that a great line-up of famous faces are set to take part in a special series for Comic Relief.

Taking part in the charity bake-off will be Abbey Clancy, Alexa Chung, Zoe Sugg, Michael Sheen, Gok Wan, Jonathon Ross and Jennifer Saunders among many others.

Zoe, who was embroiled in controversy following the release of her debut book last year, spoke of her shock at being asked to take part, saying: “Bake Off is one of my favourite programmes so I was genuinely a little shocked and very excited when I was asked to take part.”

Judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry will of course be judging the celebrities baking efforts while the show will be hosted by Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc.

What a great line-up – we cannot wait for this!

The series will consist of four episodes and will begin February 11 on BBC One.

It has been revealed that TV presenter and actress Denise Van Outen will be joining the cast of EastEnders!

Denise has starred in many British TV shows such as The Big Breakfast, Strictly Come Dancing and is also the narrator of The Only Way Is Essex – but EastEnders will mark her first soap.

The actress is naturally delighted with her new challenge, saying: “I’m really excited to be joining EastEnders as I’ve been a fan of the series for many years. 2015 marks the show’s 30th anniversary, so it feels even more special to be part of this year’s celebration.”

EastEnders bosses are not letting anything out when it comes to the type of character Denise will be playing, saying only that she will send ‘sparks flying’ –ooh!

It’s also unknown if Denise’s character will remain a permanent fixture on the square, with executive producer, Dominic Treadwell-Collins saying it is for a ‘few episodes’: “It was only a matter of time before Denise Van Outen walked onto the Square. We cannot wait to have Denise join us for a few episodes, where she will definitely make her presence felt.”

The public were up in arms during the week after Operation Transformation leader Eilish faced serious heat from Dr. Ciara Kelly, one of the show's panel experts, but it doesn't look like the doctor is going to apologise for her outburst

Social media went into overdrive after Dr. Ciara called Eilish out for indulging in a tipple of two on a recent night out, but the doctor has no intention of backing down on the issue.

Making her feelings very clear at the time, Dr. Ciara said: "This week was an abomination and I was embarrassed for you and I was disgusted to see you."

Penning a piece for the Irish Independent on the incident which really got the nation talking, Dr. Ciara wrote: "We [Irish] constantly minimise our drinking- talking about going for 'a pint' or 'a couple of drinks' when in reality we mean multiples of that. And we extol nights out where we don't remember how we got home, where we were or what we did. But we know it was great craic."

Admitting that her fury was not aimed specifically at Eilish, but the nation as a whole, Dr. Ciara said: "Eilish got the brunt of that which was probably undeserved. But am I sorry for bringing it up? No. Let's have that debate."

We have to be honest, our hearts went out to poor Eilish this week!

If you thought on-stage drama at a beauty pageant was only something that happened on movies and TV shows, you are very much mistaken!

Indeed, it seems that someone had a serious case of the green-eyed monster at a recent Brazilian beauty contest.

When Carolina Toledo was announced as the winner, disappointed runner-up Sheislane Hayalla put on her gracious loser face and shook the girl’s hand, before turning away to hide her upset.

However, just as Carolina was being crowned, Sheislane is seen bursting to the front of the stage and, well, you can watch what happens next in the video.

We are so glad someone in the crowd was able to capture this, the very definition of sour grapes!

It looks like Greg Woods, who plays Trevor Royle in Hollyoaks, is not in the good books at the moment.

Greg, who split from his wife of ten years last summer, has had to take to social media to address the backlash he's received about moving on and beginning a relationship with actress Sheridan Smith.

Taking to Twitter to defend having congratulated his girlfriend on collecting the gong for Best Drama Performance for her role as Cilla at The National Television Awards, the dad-of-three said: "I am single, my ex and I separated last summer and are currently going through a divorce."

Greg's wife Catherine is said to be struggling to deal with the speed in which her ex-partner moved on from their relationship, with a source close to the pair, saying: "Catherine was devastated when she realised Greg was dating Sheridan so soon after they split."

It came as a shock to the mother of Greg's children to learn that the Hollyoaks actor is in an established relationship, with a source revealing: "She found out in November that they were sending each other flirty messages on Twitter, but didn't know things had gone any further."

Aw, break-ups can be so tough.

You really know you've made it when you get to guest star on The Simpsons, right?

Well, in that case, creator and star of hit show Girls, Lena Dunham, has well and truly hit the big time!

Yes, the fabulous Lena has been offered a guest appearance on the long-running show and has, unsurprisingly, jumped at the chance.

28-year-old Lena will play Candace, a pharmacist treating Homer for narcolepsy, who suddenly finds herself the object of his affections.

The show's executive producer, Al Jean, chatted about the exciting collaboration and revealed that while Lena won't be playing herself or Hanna, her character in Girls, we may be familiar with the type of character she will be voicing.

He gave us an idea of what to expect, saying: "That funny, intellectual, slightly awkward, endearing tone that everybody's familiar with."

The unbelievably talented Lena will be starring in the premiere of the show's 27th season, in an episode called Every Man's Dream.

We can't wait!
