In a very moving tribute to George Michael on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the British presenter shared his memories of the much-loved singer who tragically passed away on Christmas Day last year.

Recalling his meeting with the singer back in 2011, a clearly emotional James told his American audience that the Outside singer contacted him personally regarding the presenter's desire to do a sketch with him for Comic Relief.

"We chatted for an hour and we talked about music and I felt very privileged to be able to tell him how much his music meant to me," James said.

In the clip, which has racked up 80,000 views since yesterday, James reminded the public that if it wasn't for George Michael, it's unlikely the world would have been introduced to the wonder that is Carpool Karaoke.

Responding to James' tribute, one YouTube user wrote: "There needs to be a love button so I can hit it repeatedly!"

"Thank you for your tribute James. So true about George Michaels' music reaching out…so true!" added another.

We'll let James and George take it from here.

While Gogglebox Ireland may be responsible for making stars of a number of Irish families this year, two of its cast members are responsible for creating a trend which viewers have latched onto with gusto in recent weeks.

So, as we all know, best friends, Angela and Eileen from Castleknock, are generally joined by a tiny guest each week, and it looks like the Irish public are only dying to host him themselves.

Michael Tea Higgins is as big a star as the Tully twins from Cavan and the ladies from The Liberties, and a Dublin craft shop is currently inundated with orders from people who want a miniature version of the Irish President to keep their tea warm.

Taking to Facebook to highlight the popularity of the tea cosy in the run-up to Christmas, Not Just Hats wrote: "Our President wasn't around for long today! He was sold out in record time! But don't worry we have a back up stock!"

Responding to public demand today, they added: "Thanks a million for all your requests! We are getting through them today and we will be in touch with you all in regards to your questions and orders."

We didn't know how much we wanted one until now.

Amy Huberman’s new TV drama Striking Out kicked off last night at 9.30pm on RTÉ.

Huberman plays a successful Dublin-based Solicitor Tara Rafferty, engaged to colleague Eric Dunbar.

When Tara discovers her fiancé has been cheating on her with a co-worker, she ends the relationship and walks away from her job.

She soon realises she is more than competent in making it on her own.

Amy told RTÉ, "Her world is upside down and she has to find her feet… personally and professionally. She leaves this firm that she's worked with and her personal life is in tatters."

This is her first starring role on Irish TV since The Clinic finished. The actress played a supporting role in Irish comedy Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope which follows the “unravelling” of a friendship.

The show is also available on the RTÉ player for anyone who was too hung-over to tune in last night.

Everyone know what the McCallister's mansion looks like in Home Alone, right? And everyone remembers what Monica and Chandler's new home in Friends looked like, yeah?

Well, did you know that when Monica and Chandler decided to up sticks and ditch the big city back in 2004, they actually moved into Kevin's gaf from the classic holiday movie?

No, us neither.

If we cast our mind back to the moment Monica and Chandler went to view their new home in Westchester, we don't recall noticing any connection to the McCallisters, but apparently we just needed to up our game.

According to a YouTube upload from 22 Vision, the production team for the hit sitcom decided to use stock footage from the 1990 movie as their exterior backdrop, and didn't imagine anyone would notice.

And they didn't… until now.

Unless you're an absolute pro in the kitchen, it can be pretty daunting having to share the fruits of your labour with your workmates.

And it's even worse when you have to do it on live TV, and know, deep-down, that you've made an absolute b*lls of it.

So props to Global News' Leslie Horton who surged ahead and doled out hearty helpings of artichoke dip to a trio of colleagues who looked far from impressed with Leslie's contribution to the office Christmas task.

After squirming and questioning the smell and consistency of the gooey mess, Leslie's workmates eventually tucked in… and we've been laughing ever since.

We'll let them take it from here.

Among the sometimes nervous, sometimes cocky, and sometimes downright charming First Dates hopefuls on the super-popular Channel 4 show, another love story has been bubbling beneath the surface for months.

And as any First Dates die-hard will know, that story involves two of the show's waiters – Sam and Cici.

While we thoroughly enjoyed watching total strangers attempt to make a go of things over fillet steak and red wine, there's no doubt we were even more intrigued by the obvious spark which exists between Sam and Cici.

And last night, as the season finale drew to a close, countless Christmas wishes came true as Sam revealed just how much he felt for Cici…. Love Actually style.

We'll let Twitter take it from here…

After weeks of speculation, it looks like Geordie Shore's Aaaron Chalmers and TOWIE's Lauren Pope have finally gone public with their relationship.

The rumour mills began spinning earlier this year when Lauren alluded to the fact she found the Newcastle lad more than a little easy on the eye.

Speaking to New magazine in May, she explained that she had crossed paths with the Geordie lad that month, and had herself a whale of a time altogether.

"I was DJing at a club and he was there," Lauren explained. “We had a very funny, drunken night. We went to bed at 6am!"

Not content to leave it there, Lauren added: "I think Aaron is the hottest on the show and my type is tattoos and a beard, so he fits the bill."

And it sounds like Lauren's comments must have done the trick as it seems the pair are a fully-fledged couple these days.

Heading along to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland in recent days, the reality stars were reportedly all about the public displays of affection – something which bystanders were only too happy to discuss.

"It was a very romantic date, they were holding hands throughout," an onlooker revealed.

“They looked completely loved up and really enjoyed the day out," they added.

Well sure look it, tis the season and all.

Let's be honest, when it comes to politicians (both here and across the pond), few possess the same charm and charisma as Barack Obama.

And while it's hard to emulate Barack's aura, the vast majority of politicians have, at the very least, something which helps them stand out from the crowd… right?

And in the case of former Labour leader, Ed Miliband, it's his uncanny ability to personify the common cold.

Resigned to little more than a stock image at the weekend, poor ol' Ed saw his head plastered across an American news station who decided to use his image – along with a variety of other stock images – to highlight the perils associated with flu season.

And Twitter is unsurprisingly having a field day.

With the return of Gilmore Girls making serious waves both here and across the pond, it's no surprise that certain other shows are starting to wonder whether it might be worth cashing in on the revival trend right now.

And Scrubs is one of them.

While doing a Q&A session on Twitter recently, Zach Braff, who played JD in the popular hospital comedy, revealed that he and his former cast mates often discuss reprising their roles.

"You never know about making more Scrubs episodes," he said of the show which began way back in 2001.

"It's something we all talk about, especially now that all these people are going back and doing, like, Netflix versions of their shows. I'm very jealous of all this Gilmore Girls attention, and Full House," he admitted.

In a move which is set to delight fans of JD, Turk, Carla and Elliott, Zach added: "So, we talk about it every now and then, so you never know. It could happen. I'd do it."

Hear that, ladies? He'd do it.

In news which has sent shockwaves through reality television fandom today, Amber Portwood of Teen Mom fame has revealed that she's decided to leave the long-running MTV show.

Taking to social media last night, the television star slammed the team behind the show for her unfair portrayal in a move which has left many gutted this afternoon.

I'll be leaving #teenmomog sadly. The lack of respect is too much anymore! But still sending all my love!

A photo posted by Amber Leann Portwood (@realamberlportwood1__) on

"Sad to say but I'm not going to be apart of #Teenmomog," Amber tweeted. "The way I have been portrayed and treated is unfair. @MTV, sending all my love."

Responding to the announcement, one Twitter user replied: "The show won't be the same anymore but your respect is much more important! They'll regret it, wishing you the best!"

"If I was treated fairly it wouldn't be an issue but it's been nothing but disrespect since the reunion show. Which keeps continuing today," Amber replied in a series of tweets.

"Nothing has been dealt with or has made me feel any safer to even move on with people who have continuously hidden things from the network."

"The day I'm shown some respect by the people I've worked with for 8 years is the day I'll be back. I've sacrificed a lot for this show."

MTV has reportedly yet to comment on Amber's controversial announcement.

Vogue Williams is one busy lady. From being the brand ambassador of Easilocks to the new face of Irish tanning brand, SunKiss, it baffles us how she has any time to herself.

But as we chatted to her today, Vogue was putting up her Christmas tree (the colour theme is red, gold and white FYI), even though she admits that she'll barely see the tree over the Christmas holidays.

And why won't she? Well, work.

Her many TV shows have boomed over the years, and the blonde beauty says she owes that success to the topics in each series – they're real issues for real people.

"I get into real topics that people can relate to. And from those TV shows, I learn a lot and I hope the viewers learn a lot too.

"So much goes into them, but for next year you're going to see more gritty topics being discussed."

A photo posted by voguewilliams (@voguewilliams) on

Right now, Vogue swears she can't discuss those "gritty" topics because she "has to see if they'll let me put them on TV first!"

Many look up to Vogue, as she went from being a model to a DJ and now a star on our TV screens, but she knows just as well as anyone that breaking into TV is no easy feat. And even when you have broken that barrier, you still have to handle rejection.

For anyone who wants to go down the television career path, Vogue says that you have to give up a chunk of your life.

"You really need to love it, and honestly, you have to give up your life a little bit. I miss out on so many things. But, if TV is something you want to do, you can't give up on it.

"You will get knocked down, I have. But you just have to go for it, and if it's something you love doing, you won't mind working at it everyday."

When Dancing With The Stars Ireland was announced this summer, it was common knowledge in the realms of the Internet that Vogue was set to present the show. The presenting gig ultimately went to Amanda Byram and Vogue admits that she was disappointed with the news at first.

"I really wanted to be a presenter on Dancing With The Stars, but I didn't get it. At first I was raging, but then I got The Jump, so it all worked out."

And as for handling the rejection? The Dublin native believes that you just have to move on.

"That's just life. For the most part, I don't see it as rejection. I just think that you have to get on with it and move on.

"What's meant for you won't pass you by."

With every job that's in the public eye, you have to look your best – and we think Vogue is an absolute pro at this stage. But, instead of keeping up with the gltz and glamour, Vogue likes to look after her skin first and foremost.

"I love facials. I always have facials. Recently, my skin has flared up, and that never happened to me before, so I'm swearing by facials from Renaissance in Howth at the moment."

And as for her tan, Vogue is loving SunKiss. After recently being named as the new face of the brand, the DJ says that it's the best she's used in years.

A photo posted by voguewilliams (@voguewilliams) on

"You know what, it lasts so much longer!" she gasps. "I'm not overly-girly, and don't like having to take loads of time out to do my tan, but SunKiss is so easy to apply. I have it on in about ten minutes.

"I have mine on for about a week at this stage, and I constantly have showers after the gym, but it's still perfect. The last time I applied it, it last for two weeks!"

Is it just us or does Vogue seem to have it all worked out?!
