Back in February, Nick Lutz enjoyed 15 minutes of fame when he made the decision to upload a letter his ex-girlfriend had written him in the aftermath of their break-up.

Not only did Nick essentially share the content of the letter, but he highlighted the fact he had gone to considerable trouble correcting and grading the woman's correspondence.

But if Nick, who is a student at the University of Central Florida, thought the prank would result in little more than a few thousands likes and retweets, he was sorely mistaken.

According to The Independent, Nick's ex-girlfriend filed a charge of cyber-bullying against him, and while authorities didn't see fit to pursue it, his university certainly did.

After being suspended for two months in addition to being put on probation, Nick appealed the decision and commented on the fall-out from the initial Twitter post.

"Looking back at it now, it’s probably the craziest thing that will ever happen in my life," he said. "My main goal was never to expose her. It was to show the emphasis on the letter."

Taking to Twitter this week, Nick shared yet another letter he received and announced that the University of Central Florida had officially dismissed the case.

"It was a great sigh of relief that I report that the case has officially been dismissed by UCF! Thank you everyone, especially @JacobVStuart," he wrote in a post on Thursday.

Twitter was divided over both the university's decision to dismiss the case and Nick's initial decision to share his ex-girlfriend's letter online.

"Bullying can lead to suicide. Even not saying her name, anyone who knew you were dating would make fun of her," wrote one.

"I'm glad UCF backed down, cuz it's a bad precedent. But you, Nick, are vile. You took a young woman's heartfelt apology and sh*t all over it," wrote another.

"Shouldn't have been suspended in the first place. You should explore legal action against the ex and the school," countered yet another.

Yesterday, news broke that White House Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, had announced his intention to resign from his high-profile position just six months after taking up the post.

During his time serving POTUS Donald Trump, Spicer became the butt of countless jokes as his propensity for spin and tendency to sidestep questions irked and bemused the press and public in equal measure.

His attitude to the media and his approach to the role was immortalised on Saturday Night Live when Melissa McCarthy channelled her inner Spicer, and regularly played what could be considered her funniest role to date.

And with Sarah Huckabee Sanders set to fill the position next month, Twitter has decided to 'pay tribute' to the man who unwittingly became a parody of himself.

We'll let Twitter take it from here.

While appearing on Today with Sean O'Rourke this morning, Ryanair's Chief Executive, Michael O'Leary, addressed the airline's policy on seating.

During a discussion on the creation of a new runway at Dublin Airport, O'Leary was confronted with a tweet which essentially asked him to justify the €2 charge they place on choosing a seat.

And Michael O'Leary had no issue responding to the criticism.

"There has been some controversy surrounding our seating policy. We have a free seating policy. If you don't want to pay a fare of €2 and you choose a random seat, you get it free of charge," he began.

Outlining the options available to the public, he continued: "If you want to sit beside somebody, you buy a reserved seat, you can do that from €2 and frankly if you're not happy to pay the €2 to sit beside somebody else, stop complaining."

"If you have chosen a random seat, you're getting a random seat, so stop whinging. Pay the €2 like more than 50% or 65 million of our customers do and sit wherever you like," he suggested.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter users have wasted no time responded to O'Leary's justification, with many going as far as to suggest he's stretching the truth.

"On the whole, love the Ryanair marketing and ethos, but in this case, reserved seats are more like €7-€13 not €2 so it's no small issue.," wrote one.

Another added: "2euros? Cost €80 euro return for family of three to Spain to sit together."

With the sheer number of talent shows which have found their way onto the small screen in the last decade, it's fair to say most of us have become pretty jaded by the whole thing.

And then someone will come along who makes the judges, the studio audience and the viewers at home really sit up and take notice.

And this year that person is nine-year-old Angelica Hale who is currently competing on this season of America's Got Talent.

In an episode which aired in the States last, Angelica took on Alicia Keyes' Girl On Fire, and absolutely owned it.

After watching Angelica earn the Golden Buzzer, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the pint-sized star's undeniable talent.

And we couldn't agree more.

Ed Sheeran made his much anticipated Game of Thrones cameo in the first episode of the seventh series  – and naturally, Twitter went into meltdown.

As we all know, Ed is an extremely talented singer-songwriter, so it was only fitting that he gave us a little tune during his short appearance on screen.

The 26-year-old was dressed as a solider and was singing around a campfire when Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams, rode through a forest on horseback.

“It’s a pretty song, I’ve never heard it before,” Arya said.

Ed's unnamed character replied, “It’s a new one.”

Masie also just so happens to be a huge Ed Sheeran fan, and according to reports, producers had been keen to get the singer on board as a surprise for the actress.

Although Ed's appearance was confirmed by the show’s creators David Benioff and DB Weiss, fans did not know what episode. Needless to say everyone was a little shook when he popped up on screen.

The Shape of You singer also took to Instagram to celebrate his cameo performance.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump travelled to Paris where he met with French President, Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte.

After sharing a handshake with France's first lady, Trump began to compliment her “physical shape” and things got really awkward

"You're in such good shape. She's in such good physical shape. Beautiful," Trump said.

Of course, the inappropriate comments sparked a huge amount of backlash online, with Reebok even stepping in to school the President on how to speak to women.

The sportswear brand compiled a simple guide to help Trump realise the appropriate time to tell a woman: “You’re in such good shape… beautiful.”

As expected, the answer was never, except if you had just found “a forgotten action figure from your youth, unscathed after decades, in your parents’ basement”.

While Trump supporters denounced Reebok’s post, many Twitter users appreciated the sarcastic manner in which the company replied to the comments and the post has since received over 47,000 likes.

In a move which has cemented Niall's status as the sweetest One Direction member, the Mullingar-native has shared an image of a handwritten note directed at his fans following their support for his recently announced tour dates.

And it's safe to say, the singer's fans are falling all over themselves as a result.

"It's been incredible to see such an amazing reaction to the 'Flicker Sessions," he began. "Thank you so much as usual for you love and support."

"For those of you wondering why I'm not stopping nearer you this time, please bear with me a little longer while I plan 2018. This is just the beginning and an opportunity for me to re-learn the craft of doing shows and touring in general."

Finishing the letter with a nod to the future, he added: "Please stay patient and there will be more exciting news soon. Love you all, Nialler."

The touching post racked up more than 10,000 likes in just five minutes, with followers quick to support the Irish star.

So, they say love can be found in the most unlikely of places.

Whether it's a chance encounter in a bar you were dragged to against your will, or an old friend you suddenly began to look at differently, romance can come crashing into your life when you least expect it.

And this is something one lucky couple know all too well.

This modern day fairytale began back in 2014 when Llia Apostolou took to Twitter in an attempt to find a date to bring to her sister's wedding.

In a bold move, Llia put out a call for any eligible bachelors who would be willing to attend a wedding with a complete stranger, and to her surprise, she got the response she was looking for.

Just minutes after the tweet was posted, Phil Gibson, a man completely unknown to Llia, offered himself for the role.

The pair then engaged in some back and forth flirtatious banter with Llia even saying, “See you at the alter” – and she wasn't lying.

Three years later, the couple actually did meet at the alter when they tied the knot at their own wedding.

What's more, Phil didn't actually attend Llia's sister's wedding, but the pair did meet up a week later after hitting it off on Twitter.

We're not crying, you are!

If you're a woman and in around the six-foot mark, there's a pretty good chance you spend a dispiriting amount of time explaining your height to people.

It becomes such a normal part of your routine it's highly likely you actually have stock answers for the myriad of remarks made to you on a daily basis.

It's also highly likely that you encounter the same series of problems on the regular, and if you do, so too do other tall ladies.

And Twitter is here to prove it.

"There's nothing but people saying mean things," he said.

"One comment ruins your day. But that's why I've come off it.

"The head-f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much."
