Cats are creatures of habit, we get that.

But when your need for ice cream is considered less important than a cat's need for ice cream, sparks are going to fly as one Twitter user found out this week.

Sharing screenshots of a conversation she had with her mother, Jenny Katz publicly outed her mam for caring more about Coco the cat's need for French vanilla ice cream than her own kid's.

Offering the public a back story for the heated exchange which took place between herself and her mam, Jenny said: "My mum will lay down and watch the news and Coco immediately knows it’s time."

"She sits right next to my mum and paws at the bowl when she wants more, it’s so cute."

But not so cute that Jenny felt she couldn't disrupt this nightly routine by chowing down herself.

Shame on you Jenny, even we knew that was Coco's.

Amanda Bynes has made her social media return.

The former actress has been offline for six months now, but last night took to Twitter to keep her fans updated on what she's been doing.

Amanda is currently studying fashion in the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in LA, and it seems like it's going really well for her.

However, while sharing what she was up to last night, she also went on a tiny rant about an imposter trying to pose as her on social media.

It's good to see she's doing well!

Most of us have confined our Junior Infants photo to a neglected corner of our family home, but one girl has not only decided to unveil it to millions, but actually recreated it for her highschool yearbook.

Tyra Hunt decided to use her Kindergarten photo as inspiration for her Senior Year snap this week, and Twitter is LOVING it.

Amassing more than 92,000 likes and 31,000 retweets since its upload on Tuesday, the photo is a reminder to everyone that no matter how gormless you might look in your first school snap, you can look a whole lot worse in your last one if you put your mind to it.

With her mouth hanging open, her hair in pigtails, and a jumper in a very questionable shade of green, Tyra absolutely nailed her Kindergarten shot, and frankly we love her for it.

"You know she is destined for greatness," wrote one Twitter user while another added: "Seen it a million times, still cracks me up lol."

Tyra, take a bow.

Earlier this month curiosity was sparked among fans of Bella Thorne when a photo of the actress kissing a girl began to circulate online, and this event eventually led one avid follower to ask the star a very blunt question over Twitter.

“Are you bisexual?,” wrote the fan.  Bella’s response?  An appropriately simple answer: “Yes.”

While it is somewhat unusual for celebrities to open up about their sexuality in such a straightforward way – no groundbreaking interviews here – the former Disney star’s fans are loving Bella's basic approach.

So far Bella’s post has been liked more than 27,000 times, as fans continue to tweet the 18-year-old celebrating her honesty.

One Twitter user wrote: “DAMN @bellathorne is one of the coolest girls in Hollywood imo.  This chick is constantly real af.  Keep breaking them social conventions bb.”

The Shake It Up! star – who recently announced that she and British actor Gregg Sulkin had ended their year long relationship – has thanked her fans for their support by writing: “Aww thank you for all the accepting tweets from everyone.  I love you guys #pride.”

Go Bella!

If you're the kind of woman who can happily hop up on the bathroom scales fully-clothed after a big dinner, then we take our hat off to you.

As gals who feel the need to get butt-naked before even glancing at our scales, your attitude is the type we aspire towards.

But until then, we'll seek comfort in the fact Chrissy Teigen employs the same kind of batsh*t crazy logic many of us do when it comes to that godforsaken sad step.

Taking to Twitter last night, everyone's favourite model offered some practical advice to anyone currently fighting the battle of the bulge, and it's definitely worth considering after a weekend of beer and burritos.

"Just a PSA that if u weigh yourself and take a pic of the scale number you gotta subtract 14 lbs of phone weight that's what I tell myself," she wrote in a post which has been liked more than 20,000 times so far.

Adding to the dialogue, fans of the star suggested her phone may not be as heavy as theirs, with one writing: "Your phone is really light. Mine weighs 20lbs."

"I'm going to need to hold like 4 phones," wrote one while another added: "An extra pound for the phone case too!"

"Don't forget to subtract 3 lbs for your hair and 10 lbs for your brain," reminded another of the model's online followers.

And then there's the weight of your emotions…

Today, two Irish women have made the decision to live-tweet their journey to the UK to seek abortions.

Beginning at 4am this morning, @TwoWomenTravel shared poignant photos of an Aer Lingus airplane, a handwritten note and the interior of a taxi – all of which they directed at Enda Kenny.

As discussion surrounding the Repeal the 8th debate continues to rage, they wrote: "We stand in solidarity with all women exiled by @EndaKennyTD, his predecessors, his apologists. #twowomentravel."

"Pretty ordinary sights, in a place away from home. Can't say it's comforting, though," they added of another shot.

And Twitter users, including The Late Late Show's James Corden, have been coming out in their droves to support them.

"Today, @TwoWomenTravel but you're not on your own in this. So many people are with you," he wrote in response to their decision to document the journey thousands of Irish women are forced to embark upon every single year.

Lending their support to the two women, members of the public have shared the #repealthe8th hashtag online while encouraging others to do the same.

It is understood that the two women will continue to share their journey until their return home to Ireland tomorrow.

Chrissy Teigen gained a whole host of new fans last year when she uploaded a snap of her stretchmarks online and assured the public that her 'stretchies say hi'.

And almost 18 months and one pregnancy later, it looks like Chrissy is even more eager to share photos of her 'real' body with fans and followers.

Snapchatting a close-up video of her thigh last night, the Sports Illustrated model gave fans a tour of her thigh area, and wrote: "lol, my thighs have tributaries."

Hahaha @chrissyteigen showing of her thighs #sheisrealpeople #neverdoubtthat #chrissyteigen

"Shoutout to @chrissyteigen for being real AF and showing her stretch marks on Snap," wrote one. "YOU ARE A REAL HUMAN."

"Nothing like a Chrissy Teigen stretch mark snap to get me ready to take on the day," gushed another.

Chrissy for President.

If Facebook's 'On This Day' feature is anything to go by, we're all guilty of posting absolute rubbish on social media.

Sometimes we recognise our past selves in the post and other times we can't believe we were the individuals responsible for that drivel, but thankfully we're rarely asked to account for ourselves.

Blake Shelton, on the other hand, has had a lot of explaining to do this week after tweets he posted between 2009 and 2011 have resurfaced – and gone viral.

Brought to public attention by @MusicFactsTea, fans of Gwen Stefani's boyfriend were a little stunned by the racist and homophobic undertones evident in the singer's tweets.

"Standing in line at a coffee shop in LA talking with the man in front of me. He orders a skinny caramel latte. I couldn’t tell he was gay!" Blake reportedly once tweeted.

"Wish the d*ckhead in the next room would either shut up or learn some English so I would at least know what he’s planning to bomb," he opined in another posting.

With social media users rushing to condemn the singer, Blake last night chose to issue a statement which attempts to explain away the questionable remarks.

"Everyone knows comedy has been a major part of my career and it's always been out there for anyone to see," he began in a post he shared on Twitter.

"That said anyone that knows me also knows that I have no tolerance for hate of any kind or form."

"Can my humor at times be inappropriate and immature? Yes. Hateful. Never," he insisted.

Finishing the statement with an apology, Blake concluded: "That said I deeply apologise to anybody who may have been offended."

We're not sure if that will be enough to placate furious Twitter users though…

If you've just surfaced and have no idea what's taking place around the country right now, thousands of Leaving Cert students have officially taken one giant step into the next stage of their lives.

And social media has been on hand to give a play by play of the big event.

As anxious 6th years waited to hear how they performed in their exams, mammies lit candles, grannies said prayers, and Twitter had an absolute field day.

From secondary school students who had had enough of LC talk to randomers recalling their own results day, there was a reason why #LeavingCertResults was trending online today.

And whether you're currently re-calculating your points or simply remembering your own results days, these tweets will ring a bell with EVERYONE.

Take it away, Twitter.

1. There's always one

2. All makes sense now

3. Don't be this guy

4. When the stress never ends

5. The fear that never goes away

6. See, this is why you need an app

7. See? He's graaaand

8. Oh Pat, what a day to be arrested

And we'll leave it to the patron saints of our generation to explain why the results of your Leaving Cert never have, and never will, define you.

It's rare you hear Ellen DeGeneres coming under fire for anything, so when she does find herself on the receiving end of public criticism media outlets really do sit up and pay attention.

As the darling of daytime chat shows and the queen of all things Oscar-related, Ellen has barely put a foot wrong since her star ascended in mid-nineties, but it looks like the day has come for the 58-year-old star.

Taking to Twitter earlier this week, Ellen shared a photoshopped snap of herself and Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt, and joked that she was going to require Usain's assistance for all future tasks.

Pictured riding on the back of the Olympic gold medallist, Ellen wrote: "This is how I’m running errands from now on."

While the vast majority of Ellen's followers took the post in the manner it was intended, a vast number took exception and wasted no time calling the star out on the racist connotations of the photograph.

"You thought it'd be funny to post a pic of yourself riding on the back of a Black man? Nope," wrote one. "Delete this racist garbage."

"This is utterly f*cking ridiculous. How dare you!?" slammed one while another added: "Ellen, your whiteness is showing."

Responding to the accusations, Ellen swiftly attempted to placate social media users, insisting: "I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country. It is the furthest thing from who I am."

Unfortunately for Ellen, not everyone was satisfied by her follow-up tweet with many demanding an explanation for the post.

If classic romcoms are to be believed, women fall to pieces after a break-up and men pick themselves up and dust themselves off.

According to the movies, women drown their sorrows in gin and plot their revenge while men take it on the chin and simply make a play for the next girl.

But anyone who has endured the ups and downs of a break-up will know that this scenario is about as authentic as our tan – not at all, in other words.

And this is precisely why social media is falling all over itself today.

Reminding the public that both sexes are guilty of a little OTT regret, one Twitter user shared a screenshot of her friend's online banking app, and highlighted the lengths her pal's ex would go to for attention.

"Becca blocked her ex off everything and he transferred 4p into her bank with the reference 'text me please'.'" Gabriella wrote in a post which did the rounds online today before being swiftly deleted.

The tweet was, however, re-tweeted numerous times as people used this poor guy's very desperate plea as a reminder that neither gender is immune to the post-break-up madness.

4p, though? Couldn't have even swung for the price of a drink, no?!
