Matthew McConaughey was gushing over his wife, Brazilian born Camila Alves on twitter.

While it is not a terribly uncommon occurrence to hear the McConaughey spouses speaking so highly of each other, Matthew had a very special reason to celebrate yesterday.

The usually private actor shared a very cute snap on social media to welcome his wife to the U.S as an official citizen.

The 33-year old model and mom of three children was spotted in a U.S courthouse after she received her official citizenship.

She said: “First day back and look what I just went thru. It is with great pride and honor that I am happy to say I now hold an American passport!”

When Camilla first arrived in the U.S she worked as a maid before she and Matthew married in 2012. The couple are parents to three children; Levi, Vida and Livingston.

In 2013 Camilla said that when she first moved from Brazil she could speak very little English at 15 years old but after years of hard work she managed to get her career in modelling to take off.

The former World’s Sexiest Man Alive titleholder Matthew seemed to be a very proud husband indeed as he wrote his welcome message for his nearly 2 million followers to see.

Recently Kim Kardashian,34, travelled to New Orleans with some of her closet pals, including makeup artist Joyce Bonelli. Familiar faces Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck were also on hand to ensure the trip went smoothly for the pregnant reality TV star.

While the pals were out and about enjoying themselves as celebrities tend to do in the city, Kim also made sure she had time to fit in a very special visit.

Yesterday afternoon she tweeted a selfie with one of her fans. Not just any fan though, super-fan @MyleezaKardash is a newly turned 21-year old woman who also received a most special title on her big day: Kim’s favourite fan.

Kimmy K took the time to celebrate the fan’s big day with her and apparently the two got on like sisters.

According to the fan, Kim didn’t hold back and the two talked about everything you could imagine. On her twitter account she said they shared “SO much tea on everything imaginable. Like real friends do”.

She also dropped this nugget of information: “I asked was I her favourite and she said ‘yes! Without a doubt!”

So it sounds like the pair had a great time, right?

Actually, the get together backfired on poor Kim. Her other 34 million followers and fans were less than impressed with her playing favourites and she had to take to twitter herself to clear the air.

Well, now that we know Kim does read all those tweets and mentions we’re going to be curious to see what birthday party she’ll be popping up at next week.

Over the last few months, the rumour-mill has gone into overdrive – and it’s not difficult to see why.

For Kylie Jenner has definitely been flaunting her new curves, with her boobs and bum regularly being accentuated by tight clothing.

She’s also been increasingly comfortable posting revealing videos and photographs to Snapchat and Instagram.

And while her body-confidence should certainly be applauded, her age – she’s still just 17 – has nevertheless been an issue of concern.

After all, she admitted earlier this year that she had opted for lip enhancement treatments, and many online observers further speculated that she had surgical procedures on her breasts and bottom.

Now – finally! – the reality TV star has addressed the gossip, revealing the secret behind her body shape… and it seems it has nothing to do with a surgeon’s knife.

Taking to Instagram, the teenager explained: “I love sharing my beauty secrets with you guys and this is a favorite

“@PureLeef offers products with All Natural ingredients (which is important to me) to help maintain & accentuate your curves!”

Ms Jenner went on to state that the brand’s butt enhancement cream and breast plumping lotion “stimulate fat cells in the target areas”.

She continued: “I started seeing results after only a month of consistent use. Love their products,” concluding with the hashtag, #curvesonfleek.

Posted last night, the image has already garnered close to a million likes.

However, not all her followers were convinced. And many others reckoned that at 17, she should embrace a more natural look.

“What kind of 17 year old feels the need to enhance their body though… This is when our bodies are at their best, why change that?” asked one. Another echoed that sentiment with: “Why people just be confident with their natural body?”

And a further user stated: “I find this disturbing seeing she is so young. Be a natural beauty.”

Someone else reckoned that Kylie has changed recently: “She seems so conceited lately with less humility than the older girls. It's sorta sad she'll just end up like all her sisters. She won't live her life and will 99% regret this.”

Ms Jenner did, however, also address the marriage rumours that emerged this week when she was seen wearing a sparkling gold band on her ring finger.

It has been previously suggested that Kylie will wed her boyfriend of a year, Tyga, 25, when she turns 18 next month.

“Not planning on getting married anytime soon :)” she said simply on Twitter.

Back in 2000, her sister Kim Kardashian, now 34, eloped with music producer Damon Thomas. She was 19 at the time.

Mr Thomas filed for divorce in 2003, and Kim went on to marry twice more: to basketball star Kris Humphries in 2011, and to current husband rapper Kanye West last year.

It goes without saying that any of the main presenters of the Six One news on RTÉ tend to be watched with something of a close eye. This is never truer than when somebody decides to make a unique fashion choice.

Exhibit A:

It can sometimes seem as if the entire nation comes to a standstill if one our most famous faces is spotted making what would appear to be a scandalous sartorial choice. For example, last night’s evening news was causing a bit of a stir for exactly that reason.

Sharon Ní Bheoláin appeared dressed wearing on outfit so shocking we were surprised the national wasn’t moved into an official state of crisis.

The issue: she wore jeans.

No, we’re deadly serious. Some viewers were really not alright with her wardrobe last night.

Though this wouldn’t be the first time she’s come under the gaze of the Irish fashion police. This has been going on for years now.

Well, we honestly didn’t think that denim still wielded so much power but it would seem that your go-to for casual evenings can be enough to shock the Irish people on a Thursday evening.

Thankfully, many more Twitter users came to the conclusion that Sharon can pretty much wear whatever she likes while presenting us with the evening’s headlines.

From the Philosopher's Stone to the Deathly Hallows, the Harry Potter books have enthralled readers since the very first one was released back in 1997.

By 2007, JK Rowling had concluded her seven-part literary series – and millions of enthusiasts have been desperate for further instalments ever since.

The Scottish author last year announced that she would pen a spin-off play, The Cursed Child, but has otherwise been cautious about implying that the books themselves are anything less than done and dusted.

"I’m not going to say I won’t. I don’t think I will… I feel I am done, but you never know," she said back in 2010.

Such ambiguity is enough to fuel hope too – and many woke this morning to discover that #newHarryPotterbooks was trending globally on Twitter. It was a hashtag which, understandably, sent fans into total meltdown.

Alas, sadly Ms Rowling didn't make any sort of surprise statement this morning – rather the #newHarryPotterbooks movement was kicked-off by Midnight, a late night Comedy Central game show hosted by Chris Hardwick.

The show had asked Twitter users to come up with alternative Harry Potter titles… and evidently it REALLY took off.

In the aftermath, however, many were less than impressed when they discovered that they'd inadvertently been dubbed.

And – inevitably – the odd tongue-in-cheek response also duly followed.

Although, fans could be forgiven for getting their hopes up: JK Rowling often takes to social media to promote new material. She also regularly answers questions from readers via Twitter.

She furthermore used to platform to reveal details of the three forthcoming Newt Scamander spin-off films she has written for Warner online.

Eddie Redmayne, who plays the lead in the Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them trilogy, based on a Hogwarts text book read by Harry, is currently filming the first of the films, which is due out on 16 November 2016.

Ms Rowling is due to publish the third in a crime series written under the pen name Robert Galbraith this October.

Have you heard of #ThighReading yet?

This summer alone there have been almost countless body-positive hashtags and trends floating about on social media. From clown contouring to the semicolon project people have been doing their best to spread the message about positive body image.

#ThighReading has found people of all ages and body types tweeting pictures of their thighs to celebrate their imperfections.

It started with Twitter user @princess_labia who first used the hashtag earlier this month. She spoke with Elite Daily about the trend and explained the meaning behind it.

“Looking at my thighs and feeling the grooves of my stretch marks… the thought that they looked like lifelines, like a palm reading, just came to me.”

She went on to say that while she frequently tweets about her body’s ‘imperfections’ she didn’t expect her followers to respond as much as they did.

“There are so many faces and body types and features that girls never get to see reflected back at them. Girls have tweeted back at me that they had no idea so many women have stretch marks, and that’s so sad, right?”

The actor, writer and student who is based in NYC said that she finds it distressing that something as “normal” as stretch marks are something “we’ve been taught to be ashamed of”.

Soon her 10,000 followers were getting behind the trend and it has been steadily gaining recognition across social media. She said that: When I think I spend too much energy focused on body positivity and self celebration, I remind myself that suicide is the number one killer of teenage girls worldwide.

She said that believes #ThighReading has helped both her and her followers gain a new perspective on body positivity.

If you happened to venture on to Twitter today you might have come across the name Carter Reynolds. Actually, you definitely did because the #RespectForCater hashtag was trending not only in Ireland but around the world.

It has made an awful lot of people wonder, who on earth is Carter Reynolds?

Carter is a 19-year old ‘Vine star’. He’s not the only one, there’s a whole group of people, many of whom are teenagers, who have found worldwide fame using the social media platform Vine.

Carter, for example, has 2.39 million followers on Twitter and 4.3 million followers on Vine, where he shares short video clips with his fans. Such as this:

Now though, Carter has become better known for her personal life than his videos. A month ago there was a video leaked online in which Carter was seen pressuring his then 16-year old girlfriend (also a Vine star) into oral sex.

Carter went on to claim that his iCloud account was hacked and that the happenings in the video were a “misunderstanding”.

He tweeted an apology, but then appeared to take that back as he went into a huge online rant about how his girlfriend had cheated on him. The LiveStream has since been deleted but that didn't stop the drama.

His followers, and many other Twitter users were naturally upset about the ordeal and he has faced extreme backlash online.

The #RespectForCarter  trend was started this morning by his fans in an attempt to defend him after he was removed from a conference for YouTube and Vine ‘stars’ in California, VidCon.

The hashtag has been met with fierce resistance however, and it doesn’t look like Carter is redeeming himself in the eyes of social media.

We've all been there – your perfectly pitched, expertly worded tweet has been posted, and you're feeling suitably smug.

Alas! You then – horror of horrors – realise that you've made a terrible mistake: there's a word missing, a typo, or just plain factual inaccuracy that has ruined your otherwise flawless contribution to the internet.

And – unlike Facebook – Twitter doesn't allow you to edit your posts after they've been released into the Twittersphere.

Still, Kim Kardashian is fighting our cause: this morning she publicly announced that she has now asked the social media giant to immediately tackle this important issue.

"I just emailed Twitter to see if they can add an edit feature so that when u misspell something u don't have to delete & repost Let's see…" she said.

It didn't take long for CEO Jack Dorsey to respond either.

"Great idea!" he wrote. "We're always looking at ways to make things faster and easier."

Last month, fashionista Ms Kardashian, 34, was left red-faced when she asked about a "Georgio" Armani foundation on Twitter.

The fashion powerhouse replied with information on the product – as well as a note on the correct spelling – Giorgio – of Mr Armani's name.

There is no indication yet as to when this much-longed for feature might be introduced – but you know who to thank if (and in all likelihood, when) it arrives.

It’s not everyday that an ionic A-lister loops you into their online chats, but as one Dublin woman now knows, it can indeed happen.

Yes, when well-known illustrator Holly Shortall innocuously said she was “seething with jealousy” during a light-hearted online interaction in which none-other than Cher was tagged – she found herself at the receiving end of the singer’s notoriously bonkers wit.

“My initial reaction was 'OMG Cher tweeted me' like there are very few people as iconic as Cher so I was so excited!” Holly exclusively explained to SHEmazing! this evening.

“Then I read it about 54 times trying to figure out what it all meant.”

Holly added of her idol: “She's gas, her tweets make absolutely no sense.”

Describing herself as a bit of a Cher super-fan, Ms Shortall went on to explain that she remains “obsessed with the movie Mermaids” [the 1990 comedy staring the singer].

In fact, as a child Holly even wished the 69-year-old Californian “was my real mom”.

Her run-in with celebrity royalty began yesterday when the equally Cher-obsessed @Rowlegendary posted a picture of a quirky coffee table embellished with the star's most prolific tweets.

"I got a coffee table of @Cher's best tweets as a gift. I don't see how my birthday can get any better," he wrote.

When Holly spotted the message, she quickly responded with a tongue-in-cheek: “I don't know but I am seething with jealousy.”

Step forward Cher herself, who in response went for the weird and wonderful: “Jealousy is a GIFT BITCH. That Just Keeps On Giving. Weird Thing..You're Not hurting Any1, But YOU, Cause ur Hiding Your SHAME.”

Brilliantly confusing, we say.

Still, the 26-year-old Dubliner, who counts the likes of Kim Kardashian and Kelly Osborne among the fans of her artwork, certainly hasn’t let the incident get her down.

In fact, she’s been taking it all in her stride – especially when Cher tweeted at Ms Shortall AGAIN to clarify that she wasn't calling her a b**ch, but jealousy itself.

“I love having a laugh and taking the mick out of myself so I won't lie, it's been fun,” Holly also told SHEmazing!

But sadly, she doesn’t think Cher will be in touch in the future.

“She’ll probably have long forgotten about me and have a new victim in her sights already!” she laughed.

Ruby Rose found herself in a seriously scary situation when she came home to find a gunman loose in her back garden.

The Orange is the New Black star posted a video, which has since been deleted, in which Ms Rose could be heard saying, “There are policemen looking for a f***ing gunman and there is a helicopter in my back yard.”

The 29-year-old Aussie star had been updating her fans via her Twitter account, but the posts have since been deleted.

The actress, best known for playing Stella Carlin, tweeted saying “This is petrifying. Helicopters, police, dogs… And a crazy person.”

This was followed with, “Man arrested. Wow. Crazy” and “Annnd now I won’t be watching horror films before bed anymore.”

The fiancé of Roald Dahl’s granddaughter, Phoebe Dahl, had been on a night out with the DJ Skrillex. Ruby had written “When you’re supposed to be on a date with @skrillex but… Something comes up”, before deleting the post.

Thankfully the intruder was captured by the police and everyone remained unharmed.

It’s the feud that has engrossed us all – and now that Katy Perry (AND inadvertently, Rihanna) have chipped in too… things have just got a whole lot better.

Following on from yesterday’s explosive social media battle between Tay-Tay Swift and a seemingly snubbed Ms Minaj, yet more A-listers have been adding in their tuppence worth.

And leading the onslaught is certainly Ms Perry, who seriously got the claws out when she accused her former BFF (and now arch nemesis) Taylor of capitalising “on the takedown of a woman”.

Tweeting to her 73million followers, the 30-year-old stated: “Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…”

OUCH!

She also then dragged Rihanna, 27, into the dispute, saying the real VMA nominations travesty was that the Barbadian singer’s controversial Bi**h Better Have My Money video wasn’t eligible this year, having only been released recently.

It has long been rumoured that 25-year-old Ms Swift’s hit Bad Blood single was a less-than subtle dig at Katy over unresolved personal issues between the two.

And last September Taylor also said in an interview with Rolling Stone the song was about a female musician and “straight-up enemy”.

Katy furthermore appeared to call her one-time friend a “Regina George in sheep's clothing” on social media.

The feud reportedly ignited when three of Taylor's dancers quit to go work for Katy on her massive world tour, with Swifty explaining in the same Rolling Stone interview: “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour.

She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”

The pair have also both at one time or another dated Hollywood player, John Mayer.
