Is Twix a bar or a biscuit? Twitter is in uproar trying to find out
We are all well-versed in the eternal argument as to whether a Jaffa Cake is a cake or a biscuit, but now it is the humble Twix's time to shine.
Pointless host Richard Osman kicked off the drama on Twitter when he asked his followers what they thought a Twix should be classified as.
"I honestly don't think a Twix is really a chocolate bar. It should be reclassified as a biscuit," he said.

Obviously, such a divisive issue caused a wave of responses, as people battled it out in the comments section to share their opinion.
Some agreed with the quiz show host, saying that the biscuit to chocolate ratio involved in a Twix should define it as a biscuit.
@MxJackMonroe @richardosman there needs to be a referendum to get a Twix to be classed as a biscuit #twixit

This brought up the issue of other confectionery items currently classified as bars, such as Kit Kats and Penguin bars, and whether or not they should also be biscuits.
Others felt that the debaters should leave well enough alone and continue to refer to a Twix as a bar, as is traditional.
@richardosman According to HMRC it's 'confectionery' bc it's 'wholly/partially covered in chocolate' but I'd dispute that because, biscuity.

Others felt that a Twix is a hybrid of the two confectionery types, and straddles both categories.
Some just see it as "a fancy tea straw."
@richardosman In my house, it's a fancy tea straw.

We don't really mind what we call it seeing as it tastes so good, but what do you think?
