ITV is set to air two seasons per year of Love Island, as the broadcaster looks to tackle a five percent fall in total advertising revenue by adding a winter edition of the hit reality TV show.

From 2020, an additional series will air during the British winter, with the original summer series continuing to be filmed in Europe.

The first season of the winter show will be shot in South Africa, so a few safari challenges might not go amiss. Love Island remains to be the most watched programme of the year for adults aged 16 to 34 across any channel.

The show hit new heights in its fifth series this summer, and recently broke an astonishing six million viewer barrier for the first time, according to The Guardian.

ITV’s chief executive, Carolyn McCall, credited the show for saving their drop in advertising revenue;

“ITV delivered another good viewing performance in the first half of the year,” McCall said.

“Online revenues grew strongly, up 18 percent, despite tough comparatives, with Love Island providing a strong finish to the half. This was reflected in better than expected total advertising revenue.”

Currently the show enjoys over five million viewers watching per episode, and is commercial gold for the broadcaster. Uber Eats pays five million pounds alone to sponsor the show.

A dozen commercial partners were also involved in the 2018 series, spanning brand licensing, podcast sponsors, product placement, in-store branding and exclusive product lines and merchandise.

Paul Mortimer, head of digital channels at ITV, said; "Love Island has proven yet again to be the perfect format that engages younger audiences,”

“In response to this viewer appetite, a new batch of young singletons will deliver some highly anticipated post-Christmas romance and drama from our new and luxurious location.”

The Love Island Instagram account has over three million followers, with the show creating over two billion impressions on Twitter so far this year.

Love Island will be back in an all new location of South Africa in early 2020, with the first series of the year bringing the sun to audiences from a brand new villa.

Angela Jain, Managing Director ITV Studios Entertainment said; "2020 is going to have even more love than before."

The Love Island villa is set to explode tonight when Jordan Hames brazenly cracks on with India Reynolds, despite making Anna Vakili his girlfriend only days ago.

And just like that, a new villa villain was born. Michael must have transported his gaslighting spirit straight into Jordan as he walked out the door, and the devil's work continues. Fuckboys have power.

Anna Vakili is concerned that her boyfriend hasn't been spending any time with her, and her instincts end up being totally true.

What does Jordan do? Blame her for the fun not being in their relationship anymore. Note, blaming the other person is an EXACT sign of *gaslighting*.

Jordan wastes zero time in telling India about his newfound attraction to her, and pulls her for a private talk before Anna realises what's being going on and confronts him.

Curtis Pritchard immediately told Maura Higgins about Jordan's confession to him about India, and Maura warns Anna that cheating is about to commence.

The drama begins the night when Jordan tells Curtis about his doubts;

"At the time I asked her to be my girlfriend, it felt normal and natural and it was the right thing to do. But I feel like I may have rushed into it." Since they've been in the bottom three, he's probably looking to escape.

"I feel like over the past couple of days I’ve had a few good conversations with India. I actually get on with her really well. I’m finding myself looking forward to bumping into her in the villa and having a conversation with her."

Despite saying that himself and Anna are having no problems, he then claims she can be "hot-headed". Curtis suggests that India could be the catalyst to Jordan realising Anna isn't the perfect girl.

Jordan admits: “Since India has come into the villa, we get on really well. Obviously, she’s a good-looking girl. It’s definitely something I’m going to process in my head and decide what to do in due course.”

Jordan reflects on his decision, overnight before telling Curtis: "I think I’ve confirmed the location of my head…India."

He takes India for a chat on the sun deck, but Anna interrupts them to call him out on his bullsh*t.

Curtis says to Maura: “I’ve been speaking with Jordan. Basically, he is a little bit confused. He has feelings for India.” Maura cries: “Sorry, what? Is he going to do that before talking to Anna? I don’t believe this.”

Maura heads over to Anna and reveals: “He’s cracking on with India. He likes India. Curtis told me. He’s pulled her for a chat right now.”

Oh, did we mention that Jordan calls his girlfriend 'embarassing' for airing her fears about their lack of time together? We hope she drags Jordan by the ear and throws him in the pool…Nasty piece of sh*t.

Love Island star Greg O'Shea has jetted out of the villa in order to attend his beloved grandmother's funeral in Ireland this week.

The Irish rugby player and solicitor left the ITV reality show base for Dublin in an unprecedented move.

The 24-year-old returned immediately to the Spanish island of Majorca following the service yesterday, which must have been a difficult time.

Monica Ho from Raheen, Limerick "passed away peacefully on July 19, 2019, in the care of Talbot Lodge Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family."

The 24-year-old charming Irishman has gained a huge amount of fans since joining the show last week, but no reference will be made to his granny's passing on the show.

The Ireland Rugby Sevens player admitted that he can't hold back his opinions at times, like fellow Irish contestant Maura Higgins;

“I see something that I don’t agree with, I’m not able to hold it to myself – I always have to say something. I struggle to bite my tongue," he said.

His sister Laura told Today FM that Greg kept his arrival on the show a secret from his family.

"He took off from Paris, he was over there, we did get a weird request for a couple pairs of shorts and sunglasses but we just thought it was for Paris and that he had met a lovely girl in Paris, but no, he was packing a bag for Majorca."

Amy Hart has opened up to Grazia Magazine about committing to therapy after leaving the Love Island villa, and the forgiving nature of women in the villa.

The former BA flight attendant has also commented on certain Islanders in particular, namely Maura Higgins' "ever-changing" definition of girl code and the two sides of Curtis Pritchard.

The blonde beauty quit the show after Curtis ended their 720 hour romance, following his head turning in Casa Amor and his new romance with Maura Higgins.

Amy has been open about putting her mental health first, which has earned her fans from all over the world and celebrity support alike.

The former Islander also claims she "cannot fault" ITV for their improved after care, saying: “I’ve got 14 months of therapy guaranteed, but if I need it afterwards I can still have it.

"People have had a lot of bad things to say about them and they might have upped the aftercare, but it’s the same team who’ve worked on the show for five years. I don’t agree with the criticism – they are amazing.”

The suicides of former Love Island contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis has drawn criticism and increased scrutiny on ITV over the aftercare of the show.

The broadcaster recently announced a more intense duty of care process for participants on the show, including a minimum of eight therapy sessions.

According to Hart, all the contestants were briefed on the pressure of fame they would face when they exit the famous show, saying: “They told us, ‘You might be a star, but you might not’.

“‘Be aware you won’t be able to go back and work at Tesco afterwards because everyone will know who you are – your work life will change’. We were all very aware."

Amy later blocked the words 'fat' and 'ugly' from appearing on her social media feed, but doesn't regret leaving despite the trolls.

She said: “When you’re thinking rationally you’d think this was all so stupid but it’s such a pressurised environment in there.

“Before leaving I just sat there and thought, ‘There are 17 other people in this villa but I am so lonely’. I went to the Beach Hut and just sobbed.”

She's got job opportunities coming out of her ears now, at least, with Loose Women calling her up to be a permanent guest panellist;

Derry Girls’ Nicola Coughlan said that Richard Curtis, creator of Notting Hill, texted her saying, ‘I never believed in the saying it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, until I watched Amy leave Love Island’".

“The king of romantic comedy! I made him believe in love," she adds, saying that she hasn't been disheartened from finding love again. David Walliams even slid into her DMs, which is an achievement.

The forgiving nature of women has also been commented on by fans;

"‘Yes, 100% we shouldn’t have blamed ourselves. But I was willing to hear all of that and work on myself to make it work," she says. "I did feel humiliated."

Her forgiveness of Curtis has moved on to unconcealed frustration, saying, "We’ve seen two different people in that villa, the Curtis that I knew and the Curtis now. I don’t know which one’s real, because they can’t both be."

Amy has wisely decided not to watch Love Island, but she's aware that Maura and Curtis got together just days after her exit. Maura, she says, definitively does not follow Girl Code;

"The thing with Maura is that she has an ever-changing definition of Girl Code. She constantly moves the goalposts to suit her situation. And then suddenly she decided we were never friends. And I will maintain this forever: we weren’t best friends but we did have a close friendship."

When asked if she's have happiness for Curtis if he wins the show, Amy replied;

"If I say no that will be the headline!" she says. "If he’s happy I’m happy. If he’s happy and they win that’s fine. No one will beat Tommy and Molly, though I really want Anna and Jordan to win."

Unfortunately, Anna and Jordan have been in the bottom three multiple times and now Jordan's head is getting turned by India, who is coupled up with Ovie. So that ship has most likely sailed…

Love Island's Francesca Allen has given us an inside look into the reunion of Joanna Chimonides and Michael Griffiths following their Aftersun appearance, and it's spicy enough,

A video emerged of the pair getting cosy in the green room, despite the awkwardness between the former couple and Caroline Flack.

Francesca was obviously asked whether they're getting back together, because everyone thinks that they will, and she said;

"Possibly, they seem to be getting along fine. I wasn't there for too long after because I was shattered."

Caption

She added; "They were speaking, everyone was being civil and nice. So we'll see what happens!"

Well, that's dull. We wanted WWE drama for Michael's sins.

Francesca also tried to defend Michael, who she was coupled up with as friends at the end of her time in the villa, saying:

"Michael's great, he's just made a few mistakes I think. He's actually a really good person. I got along with him really well."

The pair looked cosier than ever behind the scenes (Image: Instagram)

Michael recoupled with Joanna following Casa Amor, as I'm sure we all remember, and left Amber to walk alone into the villa.

The gaslighting firefighter then insisted that he had no interest in Amber anymore. He pied her TWICE in an embarrassing fashion, treating her like dirt in the process.

Joanna was raging after she was dumped from the island alone, without Michael leaving with her.

The model branded him a 'snake', with most of us agreeing that the term was well deserved.

Michael then tried to crack on with Amber again after Irish charmer Greg brought her on a date, with Michael lying at every turn about his feelings.

Will Joanna give him another chance? She'd be some fool to let him slither his way back in, but we suspect she will.

A former ITV2 employee has claimed that Love Island bosses "fix the show based on who they want to win", according to The Sun.

An anonymous former worker took part in a Reddit Q&A, and claimed to be a producer from 2018's show. Moderators for the site allegedly confirmed their identity.

The employee referred to the popular programme as "constructed reality at its finest" in the resurfaced chat. Show bosses really do pull all the strings, huh…

Image: Reddit

The insider curtly replied; "Yeah, absolutely" when asked if showrunners "manipulate the show based on who they want to win".

Their "favourite couples" are benefitted with shock twists and orchestrated dumpings, according to the source;

"They’re deciding who makes best TV, who is the most frustrating to work with and such things. It’s not just one person saying 'oh no I like them'."

Fans only last week accused the show of fixing a dumping after Joanna was dumped from the island, meaning that Michael Griffiths could try again with ex-flame Amber Gill.

The source said that a lot of the time Islanders are asked to have certain conversations "to give the viewer a better experience".

When asked about last year's contestants, the ex-ITV2 employee said Georgia Steel "was so annoying and demanding of attention from everyone including producers".

The insider added that Laura Anderson wouldn't have reached the final if viewers witnessed how "annoying" she was, and that Dr Alex George was "just sh*t":

"He was given everything and offered nothing".

The one former contestant who was praised was Megan Barton-Hanson, with the source saying that her "lovely, vulnerable side that didn't get shown";

"She was really likeable. She was so insecure and vulnerable and was genuinely sweet."

A rep for Love Island replied to The Sun's digging, saying:

"As anyone who watches the show regularly would know, Love Island is a combination of reality and produced elements that are reflective of what's happening in the villa, and is a fair and accurate representation of villa life.

"We have always been completely transparent about this and the way the show is produced. This is often acknowledged in the voice over by Iain Stirling," they added.

"The opinions they have and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves," ITV bosses continued.

"As we have said since series one, Love Island is a combination of reality and produced elements."

Now that was some seriously scalding hot tea, we wonder if ITV know which former employee is spilling their secrets?

Amber Gill looks on her way to be shoved back into villa villain Michael's arms tonight, by none other than the King: Ovie Soko.

Well, we're about to snatch that crown right off his head for encouraging her to back to a toxic ex who is CLEARLY manipulating her to stay on the show for as long as he can.

In a shocking first look at tonight's Love Island, Ovie sits Amber down for a 'chinwag' (lol Curtis) about the upcoming recoupling.

We all know that Gorgeous Greg from Limerick is the correct choice, and in a world of Michael's: Always pick Greg. Trust us.

We have to remember, however, that Amber is only 21-years-old, and is most likely going to return to the bad boy that broke her heart before she learns some valuable lessons.

The girls must decide tonight who they want to recouple with, and Amber has a decision to make. Manipulative Michael, or Gorgeous Greg? My Lord, it's so difficult to choose. So difficult. *Sighs*

Audiences are positive that the firefighter is choosing Amber so he can remain in the villa after refusing to leave with Joanna, for no reason at all. Hello, he wants the £50k.

Charming Irish rugby player and solicitor Greg O'Shea was sent in to put a smile back on Amber's face after Michael stomped all over her heart by dumping her for Joanna, and the pair get on super well.

Fans are devastated to see that Ovie is Team Michael, seeing as Ovie is one of Amber's closest friends and confidantes.

He tells her: "Greg's come in and he's been absolutely wonderful but ok, if you pick Greg you're playing it safe. Going back with Michael, you heart could get shattered again but you like him more than Greg. That's the reality."

Amber comes face to face with Michael and Greg in tonight's recoupling, with the two boys as the final pair standing. Does this mean that whoever she doesn't choose will be dumped from the villa?

Well, there are an even number of girls and boys in the villa, so probably not. When news of the recoupling broke in the villa, Greg, grinned at her and told her: "You have a decision to make here."

Smiling back, Amber had a twinkle in her eye as she proclaimed: "F*ck." We hope that translates to: "F*ck, I can't wait to leave Michael standing there on his own like a total mug, same as he did to me."

Tonight is set to be one of the biggest nights in Love Island history, with Geordie gal Amber Gill realising she has a major decision to make.

Will she go with her ex-flame and current villa villain, Michael Griffiths, or new charming Limerick Lad, Greg O'Shea?

We know what the obviously correct choice is, but last night's clip may have given away a major spoiler about what will go down tonight.

The firefighter who is now an enemy of the state after dumping Amber brutally after Casa Amor for Joanna Chimondies, and treating her like dirt afterwards, only to confess as soon as Joanna gets axed that he still has feelings for Amber.

Hmmm, how convenient? We're guessing he'd do absolutely anything to remain in the show.

The manipulative 27-year-old isn't fooling anyone, especially with his lies last night about having "found what I've been looking for" comment referring to Amber.

As soon as Belle told him that Joanna wouldn't be waiting around on the outside for him, he does a 180 and heads straight over to Amber, interrupting her chat with new boy Greg.

Amid all this chaos, the islanders got a text revealing that the next recoupling was looming, and it's the girls' chance to pick the boys this time.

Viewers spotted in the teaser for tonight's episode that Amber is positioned at the fire pit announcing her choice, but Greg and Michael were the last men standing.

Yes Shannon, yes they did spoil it. The other boys were therefore already picked by the other girls, and fans are now attempting to work out who Amber will choose.

The show gave a little too much away, making it too obvious which girls were paired with which boys.

One Twitter user wrote:

“Hate how the producers fix it so that the one torn between two people just happens to choose last and it just happens that none of the other girls have picked either of those two boys even though there's a few single girls in there?”

It's CLEARLY Michael's time to leave the island, seeing as he already should have walked out with Joanna after choosing her over Amber. He made his bed, and didn't lie in it…Rude.

Plus Irish rugby player Greg O'Shea is an absolute gentleman who could treat a lady right, and has been nothing but respectful to Amber since he met her at the Hideaway.

Maura agrees with the public's choice of Greg, after seeing how emotionally abusive Michael was to Amber over the last few weeks. We all know how dirtbag ex-boyfriends crawl their way back in, though…

Well, it's safe to say we're not exactly over the moon about this latest news.

Love Island stars Amber Gill and Michael Griffiths have been pictured kissing passionately (albeit in a challenge) for the first time since their Casa Amor break-up in tonight's episode.

Michael eventually admits that he still has feelings for her only days after his former partner Joanna Chimonides was dumped from the villa, calling him a 'snake' in the process. Dead right.

Firefighter Michael chooses Amber to take part in a challenge with him called Men at Work, where the male Islanders must compete to be named Buffest Builder.

Each boy has a chance to passionately kiss their partner at the end of the challenge, and Michael didn't waste a speck of time.

The couple seal the deal, and a reconciliation between them looks more likely than ever. WHY, GOD? WHY? He's a toxic, manipulative man and Greg is far better.

Michael interrupted her chat with Greg to confess his feelings before the pair teamed up for the Buffest Builder game. *Sigh

"The situation that I am in now has given me time to clarify a few things in my head. It’s given me time to think and realise ‘I do like Amber'," he said to Amber.

"I can only apologise about how I was over the last few weeks. I’m just letting you know that I do still like you.” Amber is understandably stunned by his admission.

Greg unfortunately just gives her a peck on the cheek in the challenge, and Amber says in the Beach Hut that she wishes he'd have full on kissed her. Us too, Amber. Us too.

Joanna Chimonides has posted a tearful video online after watching Michael Griffiths admit his feelings for Amber Gill on last night's Love Island.

The ex-Islander was dumped from the show on Monday, and reacted to the firefighter confessing that he can't get his former flame out of his head.

Drama ensued after Michael recoupled with Joanna Chimonides following Amber's stint on Casa Amor, where she remained loyal to him.

Amber was heartbroken after the blow was dealt, and had to experience him treating her like dirt over the next few days while cuddling up to new partner Joanna.

Michael stayed in the villa after Joanna was sent home, which left both the Islanders and viewers confused. Joanna didn't hesitate to call him a "snake" as she walked out the door, without him in tow.

The Essex native took to Instagram Stories to reveal that the episode was "hard to watch".

Image: Instagram/@joannachimonides

The firefighter spoke to Joanna's close friend Belle last night about how Joanna was "stand-offish" to him. Belle told Michael that Joanna won't waste her time waiting for him at home, rightfully so.

It's the same trend where as soon as the woman is gone, Michael starts bitching about them behind their backs and acts as if it's totally their fault that the relationship has problems.

Michael later decided to tell Amber how he feels, interrupting new Limerick lad Greg O'Shea's chat with her. The rugby player and solicitor also has his eye on Amber.

As the 27-year-old walks over to tell the Newcastle beauty how he feels, Joanna says;

"So obviously I've had to just pause the TV purely because for me being stand-offish is more me having respect for those in in the villa because someone else is hurting in there," Joanna told her followers during the show, referencing Amber's heartbreak.

"It's hard for me to watch this right now I'm not gonna lie."

Ovie Soko has irrevocably changed our lives, that's a fact. The six foot seven basketball player has taken over the internet after bursting onto Love Island screens in the Casa Amor portion of the show.

He's basically the best thing to happen to the villa, and it appears that In The Style agree. The brand have dropped a range of t-shirts dedicated to the hilarious 28-year-old Islander.

While he's busy treating women with respect and giving long, deep, wise snippets of advice to the useless men in the house, he's also the king of fashion and emits chill vibes only.

The man has already been crowned the couture king of the villa, donning dapper menswear, tiny sunglasses, do-rags, tank tops and patterned shirts like it's nobody's business.

He's quite simply a breath of fresh air. Ovie is a fan of a good 1990s film throwback ("MESSAGE"), wears bucket hats in bed and wears fully-clothed lewks rather than swimwear all day.

His Hawaiian print co-ords, camp collar shirts, camouflage cargo pants and the legendary outback hat has won the hearts of the nation.

Ovie was the only one to school Michael on how badly he spoke to Amber, as well as crying on national TV when his Casa Amor pal George was dumped from the island.

It's impossible not to love the hunk, especially when he dances while he irons his clothes. Or makes eggs. He dances pretty much constantly, it's his thing.

He definitely knows how to make a woman feel good about herself, and is a constant gentleman when it comes to Amber's feelings. Their friendship lights up the world.

Fashion brand In The Style have moulded their love for the contestant into a range of t-shirts dedicated to him, and we've already pre-ordered them all.

The tops come in black or white and sport Ovie-inspired slogans on them, from "Current mood: Ovie" to "What would Ovie do?", there's something for everyone.

The t-shirts cost €13.33 (£12) each and are available in sizes six up to 16 on their website, from Friday, July 19.

Pre-order the tops online now, but hurry because Love Island fans have already been eyeing up the t-shirts on Instagram.

Poor Chris has to watch India fall for Ovie, disappointedly proclaiming; Why’s this my life? It’s not funny. I think I’m getting Ovied”.

"I got a text…MESSAGE" and "I think I'm getting Ovie'd" both need to be slogan t-shirts, it's an abomination that they're not included.

We all had plenty of respect for ex-Love Island contestant Yewande Biala, especially when she told Danny Williams (remember the travel agent?); "What goes around come around."

As it turns out, her only regret from her time in the villa was not having the chance to couple up with Ovie Soko, who would have been PERFECT for her with his chill vibes and respect for women.

Ovie arrived during the Casa Amor part of the series, which Yewande just missed out on after being eliminated.

Danny Williams stupidly chose to dump the scientist in favour of newcomer Arabella Chi, and the Dubliner said that they should have brought Ovie in sooner for her.

"Where was Ovie when I was crying in the beach hut saying 'no one likes me,'" Yewande told RTÉ Entertainment.

"That would've been the perfect time to be like, 'Ok we're going to send Ovie in as the bombshell'." He's 100 percent bombshell material, we'll give her that. Yewande also makes a very good point.

She's a firm believer in the idea that "everything happens for a reason", but she admits that she'd have coupled up with Ovie if she had been given the opportunity.

"I'm a real firm believer that everything happens for a reason so I feel that if you did change something, I wouldn't have the outcome – it could be worse, it could be better, I don't know – so I think I'd just leave it as it is," she explained.

"I had an amazing experience, I laughed, I cried, it was great."

Ovie is currently in a friendship couple with Amber Gill, but Yewande is convinced that Amber is, "still too hurt from Michael and I don't think anyone's really going to work romantically, I don't think she's ready for anything romantically in that villa."

What about Irish hunk Greg? We saw sparks when the rugby player and future solicitor met her for a date in the Hideaway. Michael rudely interrupted the pair last night to ask Amber for a chat, the devil.

Yewande expressed her shock at Michael's toxic behaviour towards Amber since their split and Casa Amor recoupling with Joanna Chimonides.

"It's shocking how he's treated her from that, because that's not the Michael that I know," she said.

"I really want to be like, 'What are you doing? Can you just explain your thought process.' I just don't understand what's happened. It's just really unfortunate because I really wanted them to win and I thought if they stayed together they were really strong and they possibly could've won."

We desperately hope Amber calls him a 'dead ting' and walks away, because if she goes back to that horrible man it sets an awful example. You wouldn't treat your pet pooch the way Michael treated her.

Yewande also opened up about life in the Love Island villa; “We’ve no concept of time.

“There was a time where Joe (Garratt) found out that you could check the time on the cooker and then they changed it so we’ve no concept of time whatsoever. We always guestimated when the sun came out.”

The contestants are filmed 24 hours a day, and are told to dress up every evening to create a party vibe in the house. They must wait until producers confirm that their filming commitments are over before they go to bed.

The Islanders are also gifted with sponsored wardrobes to wear for the duration of their stay and they avail of the laundry service once a week (but don't do any of the housework).

Yewande urged viewers to be aware that the footage they see doesn’t always portray reality, seeing as it's just an hour of television per day.

She told Virgin Media Television’s Ireland AM: “You are only seeing an hour of what went on in 24 or 48 hours so it’s really hard to judge a person’s personality by just watching an hour.”

Yewande admits she’s also sceptical about Maura and Curtis' relationship;

“I just don’t know. When I was in there I didn’t really see it, but I’ve been out of there a while and I know that everything moves really quickly in there.”

She reckons Maura’s head could be turned by newcomer Greg O’Shea, a professional rugby player from Limerick who went on a date with Amber.

Yewande who reckons lovebirds Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, who are in a relationship, are “smitten”.

However, she warned : “At the end of the day it is a game and not everyone is genuine.”

But while she may have left without a boyfriend, Yewande insists that;

 “It’s a great way to find love, not even just romantic love. It’s a great way to learn about yourself as a person. It’s also great to find an amazing group of friends.”
