There is bound to be someone you know, or perhaps even you have had the experience of a parent taking things too far on social media.

For example: One poor girl attempted to post the ever popular, and oh-so subtly alluring ‘green tea, laptop, and fluffy socks'’ snap that bloggers just live for.

She then posted it on Facebook. There’s even some leg on display, but mostly those are covered.

Presumably, the woman wanted to show just how warm and cozy she was – which, coincidentally, is the message written on her mug.

Her dad saw his opportunity and he took it.

This was an unmissable opportunity for a contender for dad joke of the year.

He posted a picture of his own, in which he re-enacts his daughter's pose. Lying on his bed, he has his hairy legs on show, with his polka dot ankle socks pulled up just about as high as they'll go.

Completing his fetching look is a very dad-chic pair of checked shorts. Oh, and he's looking at pictures of dogs on his laptop, obvs.

The picture was posted on Reddit by user allthepeople alongside the caption: "My sister posted a picture to Facebook, my Dad responded."

It has since gone viral, with over 1 million views on it has also been shared on Reddit

One viewer said: "Just sitting here in my high socks, Google searching puppy pictures. Typical Saturday night. Love, Dad."

"He didn't show nearly enough leg," wrote one person.

Another added: "Your dad has better socks in my opinion. Could you tell him that a random stranger likes his socks? They're pretty dope."

However, some were more concerned about the placement of the coffee cups:

"Can't stop worrying those mugs will spill on the keyboards."

Is there anything in the world that brings more joy than scaring someone who's really jumpy?

We think not. That's why we were in stitches today watching this compilation by Irish Snapchat king James Kavanagh, who gets intense pleasure from scaring his boyfriend William on a daily basis.

#ScaringWilliam – LE FILM

Scaring my boyfriend gives me great pleasure.

Posted by James Kavanagh on Sunday, 11 October 2015

James has put some of William's best moments together in this two-minute clip, aptly titled Scaring William: LE FILM.

"He's hilariously jumpy," James told the Irish Independent of his boyfriend. If we were William we'd definitely have chopped off a few fingers by now – being scared with a knife in your hand is no joke.

James has become something of a self-made star through his Snapchat videos, which get thousands of views a day.

As well as jumpy William, the videos also feature lots of advice on how to combat basic bitches (a daily struggle, tbh).

And of course wise words like these on how to deal with annoying taxi drivers:

If you don't already follow Mr. Kavanagh (@JamesKava) on Snapchat, you need to make it happen. Like, now.

The Milk Tray Man is retiring… but he's on the search for a replacement.

If you know a man who likes jumping out of moving trains, who enjoys gift-giving and who looks good in a black polo neck, this could be the job for him.

The chocolate-bearing hero was last seen on our screens in 2002, and he was known for going to daring extremes all for the sake of his lady love's happiness.

But the revamped Milk Tray man won't just be asked to act like the next James Bond – he'll need to be courteous and sweet to boot.

"The key point is the new Milk Tray man won’t be chosen just for his derring-do, diving off cliffs into shark-infested waters," explains Cadbury spokesman Tony Bilsborough.

"It will be as much about traits such as thoughtfulness."

The perfect boyfriend, really.

In a new ad, set to debut on ITV tonight, former Milk Tray Man James Coombes bids us farewell before jumping out the window (standard), leaving the office free for his descendant.

Know someone who's interested?

As long as they are over 18, they can apply or nominate someone else on the New Milk Tray Man website here before the end of November 2015.

If you're gonna put your personal photos online for the world to see, you have to expect a bit of slagging from time to time.

So we hope Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez et all wont be too annoyed if they stumble across Jon Burgerman's Instagram feed.

As well as having a fabulous surname, Jon has recently started an Instagram series called #jonsfamousfriends, showing him rubbing shoulders with A-listers thanks to some savvy picture editing.

He's tenderly stroked Emily Ratajkowski's face…

Done Kim's make-up for her…

Licked Cara's forehead…

And even danced with Taylor at the VMAs (poor Selena got cropped)…

"I was playing around with my decrepit iPhone and noticed Instagram had a new function where you could show 2 or more images together on a grid," Jon explains of the project's conception.

"Celebrities’ Instagram feeds are often littered with multiple-selfies and photos of their cats. They’re just as dull as us normal people.

"So I’m hanging out with celebrities, but we’re not really doing anything that fascinating (apart from shooting up with Obama of course)."

There are hundreds of thousands of memes in existence and you can’t deny that you’ve laughed at most of them.

However, now people are asking what happens to the people behind the viral photo?

We’ve seen the success kid make a resurgence, and all is well with him. For some people however, that is not the case.

One 20-year old student has spoken out after her photo went viral, for all the wrong reasons.

You have probably seen it, and if you a Twitter account then there’s no doubt you have come across it because it has been featured on the social media site more than 125,000 times.

Ashely VanPevenage, from Washington, is friends with a makeup artist and when she was dealing with an allergic reaction she asked for help covering her blemishes:

“I was having this allergic reaction to benzoyl,” she told BuzzFeed. “I knew I needed help to cover my acne.”

When her friend uploaded the before and after pictures on Instagram, it was quickly copied. Initially the memes were more focused on the amazing make up.

Quickly though, it took a turn for the nasty and Ashley’s picture became associated with the viral meme “women you need to take swimming on the first date.”

VIRAL

This week, after months of being harassed online and having her appearance slammed by hundreds of thousands of social media users, Ashley uploaded a video that explained her experience.

She said “some days I will read through the comments just to see how cruel people can be.”

“My advice for people who may have to deal with this in the future is it doesn’t matter what people say about you or what they think about you,” she said.

“Everyone is beautiful inside and out.”

Are you bored with your fancy new smart phone? Do you have some spare cash floating about that wouldn’t mind spending on another brand new gadget?

Not to fear, there a new viral trend just for you: Extreme iPhone Pinching, a new bizarre pastime that has the people of the Internet feeling very adventurous with their smart phones.

First introduced by Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun of the band Twenty One Pilots, the practice involves dangling your iPhone over precarious drops just for the adrenaline rush.

We think there have to be less costly ways to get the adrenaline pumping. Surely someone sees the possibility of this trend ending in tears?

Tyler and Josh posted a series of videos of themselves engaging in iPhone Pinching to Vine, where the anxiety-inducing clips since attracted a lot of nervous attention, and blatant outrage.

Plenty of copycat type photos and videos appeared on social media in the days following the first phone pinching instance.

They had the internet feeling very tetchy indeed.

“The Exhiliaration,”- more like “MY NERVES!”

You had to admit it is a touch stressful (or irritating) to see such ridiculous antics:

We think it might hard to decide which is more uncomfortable; that people are willing to destroy their phones because of an internet trend, or that the possibility of such makes us feel a little stressed?

Our grey and rainy Monday morning just got a whole lot better with this news.

A llama is loose on the roads in Co. Offaly, and is causing obstruction (and no doubt a few giggles) for motorists in the Rohan area.

AA Roadwatch posted a warning earlier this morning letting drivers know:

While we don't know where the poor lad came from, there is an alpaca farm nearby so it could be that the llama is an escapee from there.

Driver James Hayden posted the above photo on Twitter of the llama casually strolling between cars and buses.

Amazing… but can it beat the swan on the Samuel Beckett bridge?

Adam Levine is a very attractive individual. He was even awarded the Sexiest man Alive trophy s you know that this is not an uncommon belief.

He does have amazing bone structure. Also, he can pull off the scruffy look very well.

This is Maroon 5 frontman and Sexiest Man Alive recipient Adam Levine. He's hot.

We are not the only people who feel this way. We imagine his wife, Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo feels quite the same about her husband.

The genetically blessed couple have been married for just over a year.

However, there was one hardcore Adam fan who did not know about this change in circumstance. We all know the feeling of finding out the person you fancy is off the market, but that does not make it any easier.

4-year old Mila now knows the absolute heartbreak that comes as a result of hearing such news.

She was just trying to chill out in the car having a great time listening to some Maroon 5 when her mom dropped this bomshell on her.

Mila was totally devastated. We feel your pain Mila, we really do.

If you're in a long-term relationship you're likely sick to death of people asking when you plan on getting married/having kids, but spare a thought for the poor Danes.

Denmark is known for its low birth rate, so anyone of child-bearing age is probably getting hounded on a daily basis to start a family.

Now one travel company has come up with a solution for the country's aging population issues… kinda.

A new ad, aimed at older parents who are just gagging for a grandchild, suggests they pay for their child to go on an "active holiday," with the hope they'll spend lots of time between the sheets.

The logic? People are more likely to have sex on a sunny holiday.

Plus, couples who break a sweat together are apparently proven to have more sex too.

"You were there when your son learned how to walk, but when it comes to making grandchildren it might be a little awkward to help out," the ad says.

"Maybe it's time to get a little proactive."

Would-be grandparents can purchase a Spies Travel holiday for their child – be they single or attached – in the hope that they'll be inspired to get down and dirty.

The Do It For Mom campaign is a follow on from the Do It For Denmark campaign in 2014, which offered an "ovulation discount" to any couples planning a romantic city break.

An ovulation discount? We could get on board with that.

We often here about engagement stories that are rollercoasters of emotion that generally bring us to tears before anyone has even got down on one knee.

However, this story is quite literally a rollercoaster of emotion.

Austin Crecelius decided to propose to his girlfriend Allison Boyle at a very unusual location. He chose the the Holiday World Theme Park in Indiana. Specifically he chose the Voyage rollercoaster.

ABC News reported that Austin, who met Allison when they were both in their first year at Anderson University two years ago, “wanted to do something creative and exciting” with his proposal. We think he nailed it.

“In many talks we have had we talked about how ‘life is a roller coaster’ and it just seemed fit to propose on a roller coaster.”

Is it not a little risky to take your engagement ring on a roller coaster without it being attached to your hand securely? We’re trying to imagine the feeling of dropping an engagement ring mid-rollercoaster and it is not pleasant.

Luckily Austin had considered this and the ring he brought with him on the Voyage was a fake; he gave Allison the real one when they got off the ride. However, he did note on his YouTube channel that recording a roller coaster ride is not actually allowed in the theme park:

"Even though my friends helped capture this once-in-a-lifetime moment, it was brought to my attention that bringing a video recording device onto a roller coaster violates safety protocol. I want to apologize to Holiday World for breaking that rule and for any trouble this video may have caused."

“We are a somewhat goofy, quirky but fun couple. We don't like doing things the way other people do them, and at least from my perspective, a roller coaster proposal seemed to be our speed,” Allison added.

Since last night, the hashtag #FreedomForKesha has been trending worldwide, and some people are curious as to why exactly that happened.

Yes, I'm obviously talking about Kesha (that's what the post is titled and that's why you clicked lol)... BUT SERIOUSLY, our lack of Kesha is problematic.

Kesha has not released any new music since 2012.

Although at the time aside from the single Die Young, her album didn’t appear to make much of an impact in the first place. This was largely viewed as a result of her working with producer Dr. Luke.

Fans even set up a petition that aimed to release the singer from her contract with the producer as he was holding her back creatively. That year Kesha told Rolling Stone:

“What’s been put out as singles have just perpetuated a particular image that may or may not be entirely accurate.”

Two years later Kesha went to a rehab facility in order to recover from an eating disorder. Her mother later revealed on Twitter that her daughter was suffering from bulimia and Dr Luke was part of the problem.

In October 2014, Kesha filed a law suit against the producer in order to be released from her contract with him. The suit also alleged that she suffered “mental manipulation, emotional abuse and sexual assault” while working with Dr Luke.

He claimed she was trying to extort him and since then Kesha has been stuck in a legal battle unable to release any music. Court documents released this week had her attorneys saying that she is facing a “point of no return.”

Since then her fans have taken over social media in efforts to show their solidarity with Kesha.

Dr. Luke’s spokesperson said:

“As long as she continues to stand by her false claims of abuse against Dr. Luke and remains in breach of her contracts, he will continue to protect his professional and personal reputation.”

A 6-year old girl has been making heart melt all over the world since her mom uploaded a video which showed her asking her mom and dad to be friends be kind to one another.

Sherry uploaded the video to her Facebook earlier this week which showed her daughter Tiana pleaded with her mom to get along with her dad.

Sherry and Tiana’s dad are divorced and she told Buzzfeed News she and Tiana’s dad had been “exchanging words in an unkind tone” when Tiana overheard them.

The resulting video has gone viral, as has Tiana’s heartfelt message to her parents:

“I just want all of us to be friends, and if I can be nice I think all of us can be nice too. I’m not trying to be mean but I’m trying to do my best in my heart, nothing else than that.

I want you mom, my dad, everyone to be friends. I want everyone to be smiling.”

Sherry said that her daughter brought her to tears made her feel guilty for the argument. She also said she couldn’t believe the response Tiana’s message has gotten.

“Tiana is very outgoing, has lots of energy, [and is a] very fast learner,” she said. “She is the only purpose in my life. Without her I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
