Remember when Rebecca Black first came into our lives? Do you remember how one of the most commonly asked questions was: why, Rebecca?

Well, not too long ago people were asking themselves the same question (and many more) when one Montreal based woman became a viral sensation with her Jason Derulo cover.

Her cover of his single Other Side has over 10 million views on Facebook, and people are not finished watching yet.

After a little digging around the great big internet, IX Daily managed to track down the girl from the video, or should we say, the star of the video.

Her name is Octavie and she is 21-years old. She apparently disabled her Facebook account after she realised the video had gone viral in order to come up with a plan of action.

At the moment she works for Savini, which is the restaurant featured in the video. She explained that the video was never supposed to be released.

“It was not supposed to be on the internet because I knew it was bad. So when my friends start to text me saying that they saw my video I knew it was too late, and that it became viral.”

She said they her friends were supporting her throughout the experience. They were the ones responsible for editing the footage though.

She explained that while she came up with the video’s concept, she wasn’t expecting that finished product.

“All I can say is that it wasn't supposed to be as bad as it turned out to be. I don't know what my friends did with the editing, but it all came out so wrong.”

While she doesn’t seem entirely thrilled with the finished product, she is looking at the silver lining saying that despite the negative comments it has given her “incredible visibility”.

Who allowed this to happen???

A Chinese cleaner from Shanghai has become the next victim of a terrible escalator accident which took place late yesterday evening.

In yet another escalator malfunction, the cleaner was seen mopping the moving escalator when one of the moving steps collapsed and trapped his foot underneath.

The mishap was caught on video and has now been watched by more than 95,000 YouTube users.

In the same clip, which some viewers may find distressing, the cleaner is seen panicking and shouting for help. Onlookers rush to his assistance, but sadly they were unable to rescue his foot from the broken step.

It is said that the emergency services took nearly 20 minutes to relieve him from the trap before he was rushed to hospital. Unfortunately doctors were not able to save his foot and the man will now have to get it amputated.

This news comes just a week after footage of a brave mother trying to save her child before she plunged to her death through a faulty metal plate emerged online. The 30-year-old had to throw her son to safety before she fell to her death.

It took four men to rescue her body from the fall. An inquest said that maintenance workers recently replaced the metal panel but did not secure it with screws.

An investigation into yesterday's accident is now taking place.

When a video has more than 2.5 million views online you know it’s going to be something spectacular to entertain the masses.

As it turns out, Eoghan O’Hagan from Lurgan, Co. Armagh has managed to do just that. The 17-year old’s football skills have been mesmerising people all over the world since the video was uploaded.

He managed to kick the football through the letter ‘O’ in his local Tesco. His cousin Diarmuid told the Independent.ie that it was only his second attempt at the task.

"The first one hit the letter C, before the second went through the O," Diarmuid explained. While we imagined this was something that took a little bit of practice, it turns out Eoghan just has a gift apparently.

"We were kicking the ball around in the carpark and he just went for it." As you do Eoghan, as you do.

We also think the reaction in the video is a big winner. Diarmuid certainly thought so anyway.

While the Armagh footballers bowed out of the Championship a few weeks ago, we think they might have some more fresh options to take up the jersey next year.

He'll never do that again…

Have you heard of #ThighReading yet?

This summer alone there have been almost countless body-positive hashtags and trends floating about on social media. From clown contouring to the semicolon project people have been doing their best to spread the message about positive body image.

#ThighReading has found people of all ages and body types tweeting pictures of their thighs to celebrate their imperfections.

It started with Twitter user @princess_labia who first used the hashtag earlier this month. She spoke with Elite Daily about the trend and explained the meaning behind it.

“Looking at my thighs and feeling the grooves of my stretch marks… the thought that they looked like lifelines, like a palm reading, just came to me.”

She went on to say that while she frequently tweets about her body’s ‘imperfections’ she didn’t expect her followers to respond as much as they did.

“There are so many faces and body types and features that girls never get to see reflected back at them. Girls have tweeted back at me that they had no idea so many women have stretch marks, and that’s so sad, right?”

The actor, writer and student who is based in NYC said that she finds it distressing that something as “normal” as stretch marks are something “we’ve been taught to be ashamed of”.

Soon her 10,000 followers were getting behind the trend and it has been steadily gaining recognition across social media. She said that: When I think I spend too much energy focused on body positivity and self celebration, I remind myself that suicide is the number one killer of teenage girls worldwide.

She said that believes #ThighReading has helped both her and her followers gain a new perspective on body positivity.

Ah, we love our Dads, especially when they get frustrated and whip out the curse words.

Irish girl Corey Hughes tried out the '30 Cows' riddle on her poor da and he just couldn't cope with the stress. If you haven't heard the riddle yet, here it is:

If you're still confused, try saying it like this: "There were 30 cows in a field, 20 ate chickens, how many didn't?"

Poor Corey's dad couldn't take the hint though, and his (NSFW) reaction has us laughing waaay too hard.

There is literally tears rolling down my face. The "30 cows in a field" riddle answered by my da the end though

We think it’s fair to say nobody really wants to do the washing up. It’s probably our least favourite job to do around the house.

That being said, there’s nothing more frustrating than arriving home after a long day and being welcomed home by a pile of dishes in the sink. Not one person has ever thought ‘oh joy, some three day old corn flakes for me to scrape off a mouldy bowl!’

One dad, absolutely fed up with his teenagers sloppiness, decided to take his words of warning to a whole new level.

He decided to warn them about the dangers that existed out there for those unfortunate souls too lazy to clean up after themselves.

Reddit user Iabuzan wrote: "My teenagers refuse to put their dishes in the dishwasher. So I put this above the sink."

Borrowing a few now immortal lines from Liam Neeson’s character in Taken, the dad takes things a step further when he threatens the teen’s precious Wi-Fi connection.

He really knows how to stir up some motivation for housework!

It turns out his children are actually pretty competent in every aspect of life, Iabuzan clarifies they’re just “slobs” when it comes to house work.

Otherwise we might even call them pretty high achievers seeing as one graduated from college a whole semester early.

Four years later it has been revealed that Rebecca Black is now completely open to gettin’ down on all the other days of the week. She no longer saves her party energy exclusively for Fridays.

What a relief! We were starting to wonder if we should tell her she was missing out on some great mid-week banter.

Back in 2011 the then 13-year old became a viral Youtube sensation when she debuted her single Friday, which now has over 81 million views.

She stepped out for the premiere of her new music video Bad Night on Tuesday. The now 18-year old was sporting a decidedly more mature look than when we last saw her.

Wearing a black romper paired with a fabulous dark cat eye look we barely recognised her from the 2011 viral video.

In March Rebecca spoke with EW about how the down side of all of the attention she received as a result of the Friday video.

“It wasn’t really the kind of attention any 13-year-old girl wants,” she said, and added she had no idea the kind of notoriety she was going to achieve as a result.  “I made the song with no intention of it doing anything, and here it was doing something.”

However, since she started her very own Youtube channel, Rebecca is now able to do whatever she wants with her music as she now has complete creative control.

"That was a thing that I lacked with the people I was working with and had surrounded myself with. I realized that they didn’t care as much about what I wanted to do as much as what they wanted to see me do.”

It may not be Friday just yet, but while we wait in anticipation of Bad Night being released, why not indulge in the ultimate throwback and reminisce with Rebecca’s debut single.

New York's PS22 Chorus have performed for everyone from Beyoncé to Rihanna, but their most recent tribute is by far the most emotional yet.

The famous public school choir, which sees a new group of fifth graders singing every year under the guidance of chorus director Gregg Breinberg, dedicated their final performance of the school year to a very special person, their teacher Adriana Lopez.

Adriana is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and the choir wanted to show their love and support by singing her a very fitting song, I'm Gonna Love You Through It by Martina McBride. The lyrics of the song tell the tale of someone struggling with cancer, with lines like, "When you're weak, I'll be strong… When you let go, I'll hold on."

Unsurprisingly, Adriana was in tears as she watched her students sing. Speaking about her battle she said, "It's not easy, but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school."

The PS22 chorus, based at Public School 22 in Staten Island, hit the spotlight back in 2006 when they caught the eye of celeb blogger Perez Hilton, and since then they have recorded hundreds of covers from a variety of artists and have performed at Madison Square Garden and The White House among other locations.

Just yesterday a helpful birdwatcher in the UK was out doing his bird watching thing, when he noticed some unusual farm animal activity.

Ian Ellis, 67, was out walking when he couldn’t help but notice some cows acting strangely. Ellis used his trusty telescope (of course) to discover that the cows were all gathered around a particular area and acting very inquisitive.

What were they looking at? A tiny seal pup who had been separated from their mother.

"There are seals on the edge of the marsh but it was the way the cows were so inquisitive that made me look,” Ian said.

The pup, only 5 days old, was separated from her mom, and waddled her way out of the stream nearby into the field. She then found herself in the middle of field.

Naturally, the whole scenario was incredibly adorable. Even more so because the pup was rescued and whisked off to safety.

Ian contacted Skegness Natureland who advised him on how to handle the pup before their staff could come and collect her.

“Once we got the pup back to Natureland, she went straight into the Seal Hospital to begin treatment,” Richard Yeadon of Natureland told the Daily Mail.

“Her main problem is that at only five days old she was orphaned and therefore had not fed for a while. She had lost quite a lot of weight and was dehydrated.”

Skegness Natureland celebrates their 50th birthday this year. So they decided that Celebration would be the perfect name for the little seal pup.

For the time being Celebration is going to be on a high-fat diet before she can be released into the wild. Natureland are responsible for rescuing 30 to 50 seals every year.

On Monday, Angels Among Us, a non-profit animal shelter in the U.S shared a photo on their Facebook and we have been feeling all of the feelings ever since. Angels Among Us specialise in rescuing animals from high-kill shelters and finding them permanent homes.

Just hours away from being put down, two dogs, Kala and Keira were photographed in their pen hugging. The post also included a cry for help for the two pups who had just 2 hours left before they would be euthanized.

FREEDOM RIDE POSTED HERE:https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10153190881532912&substory_index=0&id=271191497911…

Posted by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue on Monday, 20 July 2015

The original post was told from the dog’s perspective and clearly touched many people.

“If no one saves us, someone will take her away from me. I'll see her as she goes down the hallway. She won't come back and I'll cry. They'll come for me next and I won't be as brave. We've comforted each other while we were here. She gave me hope when I had none. Now it's over. Unless…”

We’re not crying, there’s just something in our eyes. Honestly.

The photograph went viral almost immediately and to date has almost 20,000 likes and over 10,000 shares.

All the attention worked because just two hours after the post went online, both Kala and Keira were adopted by a new owner.

THEY ARE SAFE!!! There are no words to tell you how happy we are that these two best friends are safe and together! …

Angels Among Us were quick to update the public on the status of the pooches with a new photograph that included their new owner, and they look so happy.

“THEY ARE SAFE!!! There are no words to tell you how happy we are that these two best friends are safe and together! Thank you for your shares, donations and offers! Just look at these two!!! This is why we rescue.”

Proof that hugs can change your life. Excuse us while we try and get control of our emotions.

Irish expats in Toronto were left a little shellshocked this week by a very controversial ad campaign.

The ad, posted on a truck which has been driving around Toronto's streets in the last couple of weeks, shows an Irish flag and the message "Go Home Irish!" It also features a website, helpfully titled PleaseLeaveCanada.com.

Before you start ringing up the Irish Embassy in Canada to complain though, it might be worth noting that the campaign is more than a little tongue-in-cheek.

The website listed actually redirects users to an Irish ad agency's site, where the following message is displayed:

Aaaaw.

"We want you to come home. Not as much as your mum, but still," the folks at The Social House add on their blog. "We’re going through a growth spurt at the moment, and would love to add talented, prolific, skilled people to the mix, both on the account handling and creative sides of the office."

The ad has popped up outside a number of high-profile ad agencies in Toronto of late, in the hope of catching the attention of some talented Irish employees who might be lured into moving home. Cheeky, but we like it.

Emma Murphy caught the attention of millions yesterday when she spoke out against her estranged partner, Francis Usanga.

In a six-minute long video clip posted to Facebook and later viewed millions of times, the Dublin mother-of-two spoke of the physical and mental abuse she says she suffered at the hands of her ex-partner.

But in conversation with The Irish Sun today, Mr Usanga, a fitness instructor and gym owner, denies many of her allegations.

Although he admits infidelity – indeed, a child he fathered is due to be born to another woman next week – he denies ever punching Ms Murphy.

"Yes I did push her. I pushed her, I didn't punch her," he explains to the newspaper. "It was just the force."

"I did sleep with someone else. But I did not punch and I absolutely did not split her head open.

"I know nobody will believe me but I am not a violent person. I never, ever want to hurt anyone," he added.

Mr Usanga, 28, is well-known in Dublin body-building and exercise circles and has appeared as a fitness expert on RTE's Today programme.

One school-friend of Ms Murphy's also exclusively told SHEmazing! that they believe Emma was cheated on with more than one woman.

"He would meet a lot of clients at his gym and certainly there were women afterwards who claimed they had sex with Francis while he was with Emma.

"More than one woman afterwards said they were pregnant too."

They added: "He's a big guy – he obviously looks after himself and really focuses on weight-training; he'd pack a lot of punch, certainly. You wouldn't square up to him, put it that way."

The fitness instructor, a former Mr International Ireland, furthermore told The Sun that his business has been impacted by Emma's video.

“My business is now destroyed," he said. "I’ve clients demanding their money back. I don’t know what to do."

He says he believes Emma's black eye is a result of the fall she maintained after he pushed her. "She fell like, either on the car or the ground," he explained.

Yesterday, singer Sinead O'Connor took to her Facebook page to offer her support to Ms Murphy. Sharing her video, she called her an "extremely brave and inspiring young woman."

She went on to state: "Anyone who would hit the mother or father of their children is also definitely going to hit the children.

"That's the other reason to leave." Sinead added that she reckoned Emma deserves a "knighthood".

By chance, just last year Francis appeared in Sinead's 8 Good Reasons video. He even posted a snap of him with the singer on his website.
