When it comes to weddings, every couple will do their utmost to make the day, and all it entails, as personal to them as possible.

And while there's no doubt that many bride and grooms put their own authentic touch on proceedings, one groom-to-be went above and beyond to ensure his wedding ring was utterly unique.

In a tribute to his new bride, Reddit user, Im_High_Tech, told users that he decided to engrave his wedding band with his wife's fingerprints, and we are absolutely bowled over.

Explaining the process online, he wrote: "I had her fingerprint a piece of paper 70 times."

"I then took a photo of the fingerprint and cleaned up the image. Fingerprints are very messy on a microscopic level so they need tweaking."

"Several years ago, I saw some guy made a similar design using wood and I thought it would be great to make my wedding band more unique than the stuff you buy at the store."

"So I got in contact with a company online that designs custom jewelry, and asked them to make it out of white gold with black plating on the ridges," he added.

After sending the print and ring specs to the custom jeweller, this thoughtful groom's idea became a reality, and he now boasts a ring nobody else in the world owns.

And we're not crying, you are.

So, weddings are supposed to be all about the couple who are choosing to spend the rest of their lives with each other right?

Not according to this guy.

One unnamed bride recently wrote to Slate Magazine's advice column Dear Prudence, revealing how the 'best man' her wedding used the opportunity to propose to his own girlfriend.

But that's not all, he also announced that he and long-term partner, Jane, were expecting a child.

Talk about stealing someone's thunder.

The letter which was later shared on Twitter read: "My husband and I started dating, got pregnant, had a child, moved in together, bought a house and got a dog in that order."

"Our friends and family have asked us for years why we weren’t married yet. We always pushed it off to build better lives. We’ve done really well for ourselves and finally reached a point where we could afford a huge blowout wedding to celebrate our lives with everyone we know and love. My husband’s best friend, “John”, was the best man/officiant."

"The setting was beautiful, everyone seemed happy, our families were overjoyed. My mum may have used the phrase “Hallelujah’” a few dozen times. The entire atmosphere felt moving."

"So moving in fact, that John stopped mid-ceremony to propose to his longtime girlfriend, “Jane”, and reveal her pregnancy."

The day, which was meant to be all about the bride and groom, then became focused on John and Jane.

"I couldn’t even hear the vows my husband wrote or the rest of the ceremony over the noise of Jane’s happy sobs," she wrote.

"John even went out of his way to ask the band for a special dance for just him and Jane on the dance floor."

The absolute cheek.

Needless to say, when Twitter users got wind of this bizarre story they were not one bit happy.

The bride finished the letter by asking if she was being unreasonable.

The answer? No. Absolutely not.

Meet Haru and Ryo, the Japanese couple who just tied the knot in a ceremony fit for any Disney princess.

They met through a mutual friend and dated long-distance for six years.

But, it wasn't until a massive earthquake hit Japan that they decided they didn't want to be apart anymore, and so Ryo moved to Tokyo.

After 13 years together, the pair decided to tie the knot in the fairytale surroundings of the Tokyo Disney Sea resort.

Their lavish wedding gowns gave a subtle nod to the outfits worn by characters Anna and Elsa in Frozen.

Each bride wore a custom sash around her waist, one green and one blue.

And of you thought this love story couldn't get any cuter, you'd be wrong.

It turns out Haru and Ryo actually got engaged at the same Disney resort during a Halloween festival.

Dressed as Flynn Rider from Tangled, Ryo got down on one knee and proposed to Haru, who was dressed as Rapunzel.

Told you it got better.

Although same-sex marriage is not currently legal in Japan, couples have been able to get "Partnership Certificates" since 2015.

Speaking to Buzzfeed, Haru said, "Something that normally gets done with a piece of paper does not apply to us. That is why having a ceremony is meaningful. Saying the vows in front of everyone and being treated as a married couple makes us one."

The couple are planning to start a family of their own and we're sure they'll live happily ever after.

Between wedding invitations, hand-crafted veils, cake toppers and jewellery, there really is something for everyone (especially brides who want their weddings to resemble a Pinterest bridal board).

At the moment, most stockists are from the UK and US, but as the Amazon wedding shop catches on, we're sure local Irish stockists will sign right up.

What do you do when your girlfriends are far and few between?

Wrangle in the bros, of course!

That's what happened to this bride, Rebeca Sinohara, a 24-year-old computer engineering student from Brazil.

She told Buzzfeed News that she doesn't have a lot of female friends, and became sad when she saw brides taking pre-wedding prep photos online.

"In my engineering classroom there were 56 guys and only four girls, so it's not like I had a lot of choice," she said.

"Of course I have girlfriends from childhood and high school but we are not as close as before, and there are some girls that I lived with in shared housing during university, but none of them I became BFFs with.

"I always knew that I wouldn't have a gang of girls to be bridesmaids and to sit together putting on makeup and all before the event."

So instead of ditching the prep photos, she asked five of her best male friends to stand in.

"They are really great friends, and I had no doubt they would do this for me."

Rebeca only planned to take the photos on her phone, but when her make-up artist stepped in, it turned into a full-blown photoshoot.

She captioned the album, 'When the bride doesn't have any girlfriends, it's time to call her bros. This is what happens to a girl in Computer Engineering.'

"The guys were all so happy in their pink robes," Rebeca said. "It was really funny."

When she uploaded her photos onto Facebook, they quickly gained attention and went viral, with more than 50,000 shares.

"I definitely never thought it was going to go viral. The pictures were supposed to be only for us, to keep as a good record."

And as for the wedding? "I can say for sure all the five guys cried. I just really hope someone got that on camera."

We just love this so much.

It's been six years since the world watched Pippa Middleton's older sister make her way up the aisle at Westminister Abbey to marry Prince William.

And while Pippa made an impact all of her own the day she acted as bridesmaid to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, the 33-year-old will take centre stage as the bride at her own wedding to James Matthews later today.

Much has been made about Pippa's big day; from the guest list to her bridal party, but like anything to do with the royal family and the plethora of high-profile names contained within its inner circle, not everyone is enthused by the constant coverage.

And as a result, Twitter is, unsurprisingly, lit this morning, with some members of the public only dying to share in the excitement and others… well… not so much.

There is a lot of pressure on women to look good on their big day, with a bridal culture which dictates looking your absolute best.

After all, those pictures are forever (hopefully).

Some women choose to lose weight for their trip down the aisle, but one bride is extending her diet and exercise policy to include her bridesmaids.

Sheena Malik is about to be the maid of honour at her bestie Ashley's wedding, and while Ashley is shedding the pounds for the big day, Sheena has been asked by the bride to do the same.

Ashley, who has already lost two-and-a-half stone in the lead up, has asked Sheena to drop 15 pounds to become a svelte maid of honour.

'Wedding photos are shared more now, so it’s important to look good,' Sheena, from Southern California, told the New York Post.

We'd be a bit miffed if our bestie asked us to lose weight for her wedding, but apparently it's a thing.

Making no qualms about her request, Ashley said: 'I need everyone on board.'

'I want everyone to feel and look beautiful,'  she reportedly explained to the NYP.

From fishtail braids to ombre dresses, there are plenty of wedding trends we can get behind, but we're not a fan of this one.

What do you think?

Galway is one of the most beautiful cities in the country, and one couple chose the city's busiest street as the location for their first dance.

Kate Divilly and Declan Tannam opted to wed in the City of Tribes last week, and as Today FM discovered, the pair had an epic first dance on Shop Street.

As the wedding party returned to the hotel, a band was busking (like always) on the street, and the party couldn't resist having a dance there and then.

The special moment was captured by a member of Brown Thomas staff who had an eagle eyed view of the occasion.

'We were walking past a band and everyone was clapping at us and taking pictures and then the band spotted us,' chief bridesmaid Aoife Doyle told Today FM.

'We were saying ‘play Galway Girl’ because Kate is from Galway and they kind of looked at us and went ‘we don’t know that one’

Major congratulations to the couple, and this first dance is going to go down in Galway history.
