Kim Kardashian is no stranger to asking her Twitter followers for help – especially when it comes to diet and exercise.

This time, she’s looking to cut out the sugar from her life, as she tweeted: “Whats the name of that documentary about sugar? I have such a sweet tooth but I know I have to watch this and make some changes.”

It was only two months ago that the mum-of-one complained she was finding it hard to shift a few extra pounds: “Can’t seem to shake this last 15-20lbs of baby weight. No more excuses. My baby is 1 years old! UGH! … I’m not gonna call it baby weight bc that’s an excuse. I just gained weight & that’s it. Why is it so much harder to lose after baby though!”

The documentarty in question Kim was trying to find out about was Fed Up, as she later wrote: "yes Fed Up. Has anyone seen it?"

Cutting down on sugar is always a good idea, as it can be quite addictive but we hope Kim allows herself the odd treat when she feels like it!

Forget late-night snacking, now researchers are saying that our tech devices could be causing us to gain weight.

According to new research, the short-wave blue light emitted from many of our devices is disturbing our sleep patterns and, as a result, is disrupting our bodies from burning foods efficiently.

The research report states that, in order for our bodies to release the correct levels of melatonin – responsible for converting food and drink into energy – we need pitch-black darkness; this means that the glow of our charging tech devices in the bedroom may be serving up problems for our metabolism.

The research findings have proven particularly interesting for Dr Simon Kyle, a sleep researcher at Manchester University, who has spoken of the link between alteration in sleeping patterns and the onset of obesity and diseases such as diabetes.

“There is a lot of research showing we are meant to be asleep at night when darkness falls and melatonin rises, and when the sun rises the melatonin is blocked by the sun,” he said, adding, “So if you start sleeping shorter, or receive light at the wrong time late into the night, it disrupts melatonin secretion and that could contribute to alterations in metabolism.”

Maybe it’s time to ease off all of those battery-draining Candy Crush Saga marathons, then?

Not only can good posture keep your spine, hips and other joints in good condition, it can also make you appear taller and in better shape – and who doesn’t want that?!

Here are some super simple ways you can perfect your posture:

1. Ensure your ears are in line with your shoulders
By checking up on this a couple of time throughout the day you can make sure your posture is on your mind and keep those shoulders straight.

2. Don’t cross your legs
You’re doing it right now aren’t you? Don’t lie… By uncrossing your legs you ensure your back is straight and you’re not leaning to one side.

3. Pilates
Regular Pilates can really work wonders for your posture. By discovering your core you’ll soon find yourself feeling and looking taller. You don’t have to fork out money for classes either, just purchase a mat and use great YouTube channels like Blogilates to get you started.

4. Step away from the desk
Nobody wants to be the girl who does desk exercises – we get it. So why not try this: go out to the hall or even to the bathroom and just drop your head to your feet as low as you can go and slowly come back up giving your back a good long stretch as you do. You’ll be amazed how good you after and no one has to see you!

Michelle Keegan has opened up about the pressures of being in the public eye.

The stunning former Corrie star was speaking to the Daily Star when she described how constantly being scrutinised can really take its toll: “I do feel under pressure. If I lose weight I’m too skinny and if I put on a few pounds people are quick to point it out. You can never win.

The star, who is set to be married to fiancé, Mark Wright over the next few months, also spoke about how issues like this can affect girls: “It used to affect me more a few years ago, whereas now if I’m feeling good in myself that’s all that matters. I think a lot of girls are under pressure and that is quite sad.”

We’re glad that she has found a way to ignore the haters and scrutinisers – there is no way it’s easy being in the public eye!

Surprisingly, Michelle also said she isn’t a fan of today’s “selfie” culture: “It’s scary. I don’t like the obsessive selfie culture, I really do feel sorry for kids these days.”

Don’t stop the selfies Michelle, we love them! Especially adorable ones like this!

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has hit back at Simon Cowell’s comments about her weight.

Simon was reminiscing on Cheryl’s failed appearance on The X Factor US when he said, amongst other mean things: “She’d put on a bit of weight, but not loads.”

Charming. We certainly don't know where he was looking, but it can't have been at Cheryl!

The X Factor starlet was speaking at the launch of the show when she told reporters: “I heard this rumour and I think a gentleman should never speak about a woman’s age or weight but that’s only if you’re educated on how to treat a woman.”

Cheryl looked stunning at the launch of the show dressed in a simple, sleek black and white dress with red lips.

Ouch, that will hit him where it hurts, Simon! We wonder what his current girlfriend, Lauren Silverman will make of Cheryl's comments?

Has she seen a side of Simon we haven't? For her sake, we hope so!

All of this, hopefully friendly, banter is making us super excited for The X Factor – eek!

We are constantly bombarded with amazing before and after shots in ads online – usually trying to sell us a dodgy diet product.

Before you get too jealous however, some Instagrammers have revealed just how easy it is to fake these kinds of shots.

Using a combination of lighting, angles and good old fashion sucking in their stomachs, you can look like you’ve been in a six month bootcamp in just seconds.

The fake transformation shots were started by a Melbourne based fitness trainer called Mel, who wanted to highlight the difference between the media images we are presented and normal bodies.

“I want to make it clear that there are definitely some very impressive, genuine physical transformations out there,” Mel explained.

"What I do take issue with are the transformations that are manipulated with Photoshop, professional lighting, postures to degrade or enhance their look, pro tans, sucking in or pushing out a bloated belly or flexing muscles vs. not flexing to obtain an optimal look."

What Mel wants to promote is lifelong health and fitness, not the crash diets and exercise regimes that unrealistic before and after shots encourage.

“Forget about the quick transformations and focus on a life of healthy eating, well-managed stress levels, quality sleep and plenty of movement. Spend time with people who have similar goals and values and take time to appreciate yourself the way you are right now. Don't beat yourself up if you eat a cookie, just enjoy that cookie and everything else life has to offer."

Bravo!

Former Westlife star Mark Feehily has been voted the 55th sexiest man in the world by gay magazine Attitude. However, the pop star revealed that he wasn’t always so comfortable in his own skin, and he still struggles with his weight:

“I was chubby in school so was always self-conscious. Westlife helped as there were always complements flying in.

“Nowadays I’ve settled into myself and have good days and bad days… During the second half of my teens, I was struggling to deal with my sexuality and was chubby so that was a big challenge.

“But I was a good singer and I used to win lots of tennis tournaments so it was a roller-coaster, like many teen lives.”

Apparently Mark spent €3000 on a week-long stay at a French weight loss retreat after putting on weight since Westlife split, but that’s not to say he isn’t happy with life at the moment: “But in general I wouldn’t really change anything. I’m happy with what I got.”

Though his Westlife days are behind him, Mark still has ambitions in the music industry. He outlines his hopes for the future:

“To continue to make music, I want to be proud of each and every thing I do from this moment on regardless of chart positions.

“But in saying that, I’m driven and want to be successful too, so those two things combined would be the goal!”

Samm Newman, from Ohio in the US, has accused social media giant, Instagram, of deleting her account due to her size.

The teenager believed her account was deleted because she shared photos of herself in lingerie, she explained: “Fat is not a bad word. How confident can you be if you keep censoring yourself because people don’t want to look at you? My Instagram, it was my safe place because when I was there, I could share anything.”

Instagram have since reinstated the woman’s account and apologised: “When our team processes reports from other members of the Instagram community, we occasionally make a mistake. We apologise for any inconvenience.”

This is not the first time Instagram has been accused of double standards when it comes to deleting people’s accounts. Instagram is not short of women in bikinis, however, when Meghan Tonjes shared a photo of herself recently, her account was deactivated: “I have pride for my curves. My still very fat body. I like a lot.”

Experts are now saying that calorie counting apps or fitness bands are causing people to actually put on weight, rather than lose it.

Online forum users are saying that despite the apps telling them that they’ve burned a lot of calories, they are weighing more than they should be on the scales. Apparently this is down to the apps not being totally accurate, leading users to believe they’ve burned more calories than they actually have, and so they think they can afford to eat more food.

The problem with the apps is that they don’t take into consideration individual circumstances – such as if they’re on medication, or if they’re pregnant. It also doesn’t consider the kinds of foods they’re eating.

However, they’re not ALL bad. New York based personal trainer Matt Townsend says: “My clients use them as an excuse to walk a few extra blocks, go for a water break, take the stairs instead of the elevator and many other situations where you would often pass on physical exercise.

“The key here is to not over-consume the calories you are working hard to burn off. Fitness bands can help you find a way to sneak in cardio while also lowering stress levels, raising energy and, of course, ensuring your clothes fit the right way.”

Looks like the moral of the story is to use your head, as well as your app!
