We’re going to be honest here; we are self-confessed make-up junkies here at SHEmazing HQ.

From base and brows to liners and lip colours, it’s not often that the launch of a new product doesn’t manage to ignite a frisson of excitement.

As devoted customers of the cosmetics industry, we expect a lot of our products, and here are just 5 things we seek.

(Yes, we know some of them are totally unrealistic, but give us a break.)

When it comes into the summer season, we feel like we need a complete overhaul of our make-up bags.

Our usual foundation and contour palette is now too heavy, our mascara has gone clumpy, and our fave lipsticks are now at the bottom of their barrels.

Beauty trends come and go at such a rate it's hard to know which trends are worth investing in and which ones will disappear as quickly as they arrived.  Because of this, we believe the best way to discover if a trend suits you or not is to try it using affordable products first.

Zayn who? Perrie Edwards was the picture of confidence as she walked the red carpet in Birmingham yesterday – and we're already plotting how to DIY her look.

The blonde beauty arrived at the BBC Music Awards with her three Little Mix bandmates, all of whom looked equally on point in black lace, leather and studs.

But it was Perrie's fierce hair and flawless make-up that had us marking her down as our next major girl crush.

With her straight locks (and extensions, no doubt) slicked back into a plaited pony, Perrie looked more like Tomb Raider than her usual laid-back self.

As for her make-up, the singer worked a Scandinavian ice queen look, opting for heavily defined eyes with a touch of ice blue, and a simple warm nude on her lips.

A flawless face with a hint of sparkle – how perfect would this look be for New Year's Eve?

Of course, the best part is, this look is totally re-creatable, and you won't have to blow your entire night out budget, either.
