The iconic skateboarding brand Vans are having a big sesh this Saturday in Jervis Shopping Centre, and we wouldn't miss it for the world.

The newly-opened store is hosting a drop-in event on February 16 for those who want to get their beloved Vans customised FREE of charge.

Local artist Ruan Van Vliet will be doing the inking, while a DJ plays some tracks and pizza and games are provided for all.

Ruan Van Vliet is a graduate of the iconic NCAD art college in Dublin, and works as both an artist and illustrator. Your Vans will be one-off, unique pieces once Ruan's done with them, trust us.

His work is renowned for it's bright, colourful and amusing patterns, and he has also created work for Vice, AirBnB, Offset Design Festival, Guinness, among others.

Shoppers can try out prize pong, to try and win 50 percent off their Vans purchases on the day.

Vans are one of the biggest brands around, and their skateboarding shoes have been hugely popular for years, so we're delighted that they've opened a new store in Jervis Shopping Centre.

As one of the capital's most vibrant and most successful shopping environments and hosting over 60 outlets, Jervis has become one of the nation's biggest hubs.

With pizza, games, a DJ and free customisation as well as prize giveaways; don't miss Saturday's party. We'll see you there on February 13, from 12pm until 4pm.

We'll be staying the full four hours, because why wouldn't we be? It's free pizza, for crying out loud.

We've finally found the perfect outdoor cinema trend that is DESPERATELY needed on Irish land: Hot tub theatres.

Some absolute genius had the idea to combine hot tubs and watching movies, and we owe them so much for that wonderful conception. God bless them.

Organisers Tub Life have created an event where Londoners can test out the Hot Tub Cinema for real this August, but Dublin is normally about 20 years behind the England capital.

The cinema event of the century is scheduled to take place on August 31 from 6pm to 9pm, and we're contemplating booking our flights now, before Brexit goes and ruins everything for us.

Film fanatics will be able to strip and dip into relaxing hot water while enjoying whatever classic is playing on the big screen, with a cheeky bevvy. No skippy dipping allowed, sorry to disappoint you.

Tub Life wrote on the event page on Facebook: "Tub Life is coming to London and we’re bringing our hot tubs with us! Expect performers, hosts, BBQs, round-the-clock tub service and the biggest portable screen in the UK."

"Note: the scheduled date is preliminary as we’re currently finalising the few remaining details to this event. Click ‘Interested’ to be notified with more information," they concluded.

They'll confirm the exact location for London at a later date, and will also be visiting Maidstone, Liverpool, Chester, Brimingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle.

Who knows, they might even pop up in Dublin this summer if the demand is high enough, which it totally will be. Start the petition today lads, shall we?

Seated among black roses and flickering candle light, patrons of the Kraken Black Widow will be treated to a menu crafted entirely from black-hued ingredients.

The tickets are €2.50 each and Katy advises to hold onto the one you buy for the entire festival.

Katy explained: "Tickets avail of all the special offers. All you need to do is to get a ticket and visit as many participating places with one ticket."

"Show it before making an order and inform them that you are here to celebrate Vegan Foodie Festival," she added.

The excitement of this festive season can sometimes overtake the real meaning of Christmas. We can get caught up in shopping for presents and finding the perfect dress for the Christmas party, but at the end of the day, this holiday is all about thinking of those you love.

Christmas can be a very lonely time for many, so SuperValu is set to help address this by supporting ALONE and raising funds to support people who are suffering from loneliness this Christmas.

SuperValu will open its special All Things Considered Christmas Café on 41 South William St for two days from November 23 to 24,  from 10 am to 8 pm.

Bring a friend along who you may not have seen for some time and enjoy some festive treats, choosing from a menu of Christmas favourites from the Specially Sourced wine range, SuperValu Christmas bakery range, sandwiches and Signatures Tastes meats and cheese platters with proceeds from the menu going to ALONE.

In addition, with SuperValu at the heart of 217 communities, this year they are asking their shoppers to Consider Taking Time to Catch up with someone in their community who may be lonely this festive season and drop around to have a chat and cuppa along with a mince pie.

A 0.20c donation from all packs of Signature Taste mince pies will go to ALONE. Retailers around the country will also be hosting local coffee and mince pie mornings and wine and cheese evenings from Friday, November 23 to  Saturday, December 1 to raise further funds and awareness for the charity.
