The easiest way to make sure your crush finds you irresistible is to grab a face wipe! It seems men find women more attractive when they have less make-up on.

In a new study, both men and women were shown images of ladies wearing varying amounts of make-up and asked which they found more attractive.

Both sexes overwhelmingly preferred women with 30 to 40 percent less make-up than they were wearing originally!

However, the research also showed that women think men prefer them to wear a lot of make-up and  slap too much of it on before a big date.

“It seems we are all quite bad at understanding what others find attractive, and this can lead to self-esteem issues,” psychologist and leader of the study Dr Alex Jones said.

The make-up study had a similar effect to the belief that men find skinny figures attractive while women like muscular bodies – which research has also proven to be untrue, he said.

So beauty really is in the eye of the beholder then…who knew!

According to a recent survey, women are apparently more confident when it comes to dating than men.

The dating website, Elite Singles, has revealed that the 71% of women they had surveyed felt a lot more confident at dating, compared to their male counterparts.

It doesn’t stop there however, the survey went on to state that 82% of women felt they were able to make a great first impression when it comes to dating in general.

Women aren’t the only ones oozing with confidence, as 70% of men surveyed revealed they felt they were well received by most of the women they went on the date with.

But women seem to be the ones in control, when it comes to deciding if there will be a second date or not.

As 71% of women revealed that they felt it was up to them if they wanted a second date, while this decision only seemed to apply to 46% of men.

Do you agree with the results? Are women really the ones in control when it comes to the dating scene?

Women are guilty of all of these 5 habits at one stage or another.

If you learn to let them go, you can guarantee a happier and content life.

1. Self-deprecation
Every woman is guilty of saying how big they think their thighs are or how they wish they were a little taller. Learn to love yourself and others will too.

2. Gossiping
Sometimes gossip can seem harmless, but it isn’t to the person you are gossiping about. Quit the bitching and let’s all get along!

3. Not looking after your mind
Hours of junk TV can leave you feeling a bit zoned out. Try to learn new things through reading or going to new places.

4. Jealousy
The green-eyed monster is the reason so many of us ladies don’t get on. Be happy with what you have and be happy for that girl who seems to have it all too.

5. Not looking after your body
You know what they say; ‘Healthy body, Healthy mind’. If you binge on junk food then you can’t expect to feel too good. Eat lots of fruit and veggies, drink lots of water and get 30 minutes of exercise a day to feel in great condition.

Cameron Diaz said that all women have been “sexually attracted” to another woman at some stage.

The single actress, who counts Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow among her best friends, said it was natural to have an “appreciation for the beauty of other women”, adding that she wished women were less competitive and more supportive of each other.

“I love women—and I don’t believe in female jealousy. I don’t feel like it’s a good feeling to have,” she said. “My parents always told me that whatever someone else had—in all areas—it wasn’t mine to be entitled to, that all I can do is the best that I can do, and that what’s most important is whether I can do better at what I’m doing.”

Cameron, who dated both Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake, said she thought women were “absolutely beautiful”.

“I think women are beautiful, absolutely beautiful. And I think that all women have been sexually attracted to another woman at some point,” she said.  “It’s natural to have a connectivity and an appreciation for the beauty of other women.”

This video by Buzzfeed features a group of men trying to explain the way in which a vagina works.

Some of the answers are pretty hilarious, as is the comparison to Predator.

But overall, we don’t think they did such a bad job! Well done men.

Perhaps there is hope for us after all…

Actresses tend to get significantly more attention than their male counterparts with women such as Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts never out of the spotlight.

But that doesn’t mean they get more work.

A survey of the top 100 grossing domestic films of 2013 conducted by the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film at San Diego State University revealed that women only make up:

  • 29% of major characters
  • 30% of speaking characters
  • 15% of protagonists

It also found that female characters were less likely than male characters to be in positions of leadership or have clear goals.

The study looked into the individual stories to see the impact of women in their roles and the types of characters they portray.

Isn’t it sad that women still can’t be seen in positions of power and leadership, even in fiction?

Beyoncé, Jennifer Garner, Jane Lynch and Condoleezza Rice are just some of the inspirational women involved in #banbossy.

By middle school, girls are reportedly less interested in leadership than boys. Why?

For fear of being labelled bossy, stubborn, pushy and other words associated negatively with women but positively with men.

Let’s #banbossy!

Although every relationship is unique, some of the issues a couple encounters are pretty universal and a lot of the times, it’s because us women tend to get ahead of ourselves – sorry but it’s true!

Here are the 5 common mistakes women make with men:

We pursue

Don’t ever chase a man. If he wants you, he’ll chase you. If he doesn’t chase you, it means he doesn’t want you.

We’re too fast

Give him a little bit at a time. The slower things go at the beginning, the less likely he will distance himself later.

We live in a fairytale

If you’re waiting for a knight in shining armour to sweep you off your feet then you need to wake up – that only happens in movies.

We try to change them

The only person you can control in a relationship is you. Either take him as he is or just forget him and move on.

We make excuses for them

Never believe someone who tells you they’re too busy. If he wants you, he’ll make it happen. If not, he’ll make excuses.

The last thing in the world any self-respecting young woman wants to do is come across as, *whispers* desperate.

In order to move things forward, you need to find out if he likes you too and this involves adapting a few juvenile tactics. So, it’s a little Transition Year, but who cares! We have to look after number one. Here are some easy ways to get a little closer to him .

1. At work
If you work with him, tell him you are running to the coffee shop and ask if he would like anything. If he is into you and isn’t too busy he might even offer to come with you – perfect! If not, at least you have the coffee to deliver on the way back.  And if he growls no and waves you out of his office, do you really want to date him anyway?

2. In your building
If you live in the same building as him, call around one Sunday and say you are baking, dropped an egg and could you maybe steal one of his. While he fetches it, have a quick scope around for girly things. If you see none then call around during the week with a replacement egg for him – cute and quirky excuse to see him again.

3. On your commute
This one is a little more tricky because you need to not come across as a stalker. As in, don’t say: “I saw your name on your work badge and you look so different in a tracksuit rather than shirt and tie in your Facebook photos”. Eek. If he is reading ask him if it’s any good and that you were recommended it before.

1. Travel insurance
Make sure you have adequate health and travel insurance before embarking on your trip – it could save you a lot of money and hassle.

2. Make copies of everything
We mean EVERYTHING – passports, credit cards, travel itinerary and anything else you can think of. Leave one copy with your family at home, and take one with you too.

3. Get all appropriate shots
Visit your GP a few months before your trip and find out what shots you need for where you may be going. These will stand to you and may save you from getting ill.

4. Give your family or a close friend your exact travel itinerary
Leave copies of your itinerary with them so they know what area of a country you will be in at any given day. If you make any changes to your plans you should let them know as soon as you can.

5. Don’t bring valuables
This one should be obvious – leave the jewellery, laptops and iPads behind. They will only draw unwanted attention and may end up being more of a hinderance than a help.

6. Always be aware of your surroundings
Never allow yourself to get too distracted and always try to be aware of who and what is around you at any time.

7. Carry a first-aid kit.
You need to have a good first aid kit when travelling, especially if you want to trek through jungles and climb mountains. Plaster, pain killers, antiseptic wipes and cream, bug repellent, oral rehydration tablets and anything else you can think of that may make your trip a bit easier.

8. Stay hydrated
This is so important. You need to make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water to ensure you stay alert and avoid dehydration or sunstroke. In many countries you should only drink bottled water and always check the seals. The local water may not be dirty but it could have microbes our immune system is not used to and could make you ill. Water purification tablets are also a very good idea.

9. Be aware of the culture
Always be aware of what the culture is regarding women and clothing before entering a country. To avoid unwanted attention it is important to dress appropriately. Have a small collection of shawls for entering churches and religious sites.

10. Be a traveller, not a party animal
It’s no lie that worse things happen at 3am than they do at 3pm so take it easy. Remember you can drink and stay up all night at home any time you want but you are here to experience a different country and culture so get a good night’s rest!

Women are generally known to over think and over analyse everything, but now it looks like things have escalated to another level. It seems like our brains just never stop working – even when in bed.

A new study showed that women bring the hustle and bustle of daily activities with them to the bedroom and we’re left tossing and turning for most of the night.

The study showed that the average person gets up to 8 hours and 41 minutes in bed, but almost two hours of that is spent fretting.

Although women generally spend more time in bed than men do, that fact that we’re prone to all kinds of worries means that we spend most of the time counting sheep rather than getting some beauty sleep.

It’s bad enough that we don’t get enough sleep as it is, but the worse part about the findings  is that women are willing to lose sleep over their significant other as well – maybe we ought to be a bit more selfish, don’t you think?
