Singer Lauren Platt was voted off The X Factor during last night's semi-final results show, but her loss could be the key to salvaging her broken relationship.

The 17-year-old was dumped by boyfriend Liam Baker last week after numerous reports emerged of a romance between Lauren and Only the Young's Charlie George.

At the time, Lauren said she felt bad for shoving her boyfriend into the public eye. "Liam didn’t sign up for X Factor — but he ended up being dragged along for the ride. And to do that to a person is hard," she told The Sun.

The young singer also defended her close friendship with Charlie, saying, "It’s very rare to meet someone who is exactly like you, and it is scary how much we are the same."

However in an interview with OK! magazine today, Lauren revealed she has hopes for her and Liam to reunite, and said the main reason for the break-up was her hectic schedule on X Factor. "When you're on the X Factor, you don't have a personal life," she said. "That's how it should be. You can't go in there half-heartedly expecting to do well. You have to go in there all or nothing."

The teen admitted that her and Liam are on good terms and that the split was not as heated as the media had reported it to be. "The break-up has been so mature… Me and Liam are in very good places, we're still in touch," she said,

"One thing we do have on our hands is time. So to wait until my life has changed, however it's going to change, is nothing compared to what could be. Maybe we'll give it a rethink after that. We're kind of leaving it as whatever happens, happens."

Hmmm… we wonder if Liam is quite so chilled out about the whole thing!

There is drama in The X Factor camp after Mel B and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini were accused of snubbing Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé at last night’s show.

Idina and Michael sang their rendition of Baby, It’s Cold Outside much to the delight of the audience. They were given a standing ovation from judges Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell, but people were bemused by Cheryl and Mel B who stayed firmly sitting in their seats.

Their snub was a popular topic of chat on Twitter last night, with the public left unimpressed that the ladies hadn’t shows Idina and Michael the applause they deserved:

I think there is a lesson to be learnt here – you don't mess with Queen Elsa and you ALWAYS stand up when she sings! Even if it's not Let It Go!

They were once one of the most popular boyband in Ireland and England, but now it seems even their own former manager has given up on them.

In a rather uncalled for tirade against Boyzone, Louis Walsh has said it is time for the lads to go.

Talking to the Irish Mirror, the X Factor judge said: “They are a bit beyond it now – it’s time to go. Motown? I mean to do Motown you have to be amazing singers and I don’t know whose idea that was but it was the worst idea in the world, it really was. Boyzone can’t do Motown, the next thing they will be doing Irish republican songs. It’s time to go out with a little bit of dignity.”

Um, ouch! Louis didn’t hold back in his thoughts on Boyzone’s return, did he?! We can’t help but think it won’t be long before Ronan Keating is hitting back at his cruel words!

Ireland seemed impressed by the lads’ performance on last night’s Cheerios Childline Concert, so perhaps there may be a market for their Motown album after all!

And who knows, perhaps they'll take on the Wolfe Tones after that! Louis may be eating his words in the years to come…

There is set to be disappointment and sadness for fans of X Factor band Stereo Kicks as member Jake Sims has been snapped in a very compromising situation.

The Sun published a photo of the young boyband member “in a stupor after snorting potentially lethal Class A drug Ketamine.”

The photo is rather shocking as it shows the teen lying down with his eyes rolled back and his tongue hanging out of his mouth.

The photo is reported to have been from eighteen months ago, but it is clear the star will have some explaining to do if he is to take his singing career any further.

The photo is sure to upset fans of the band, many of whom are quite young.

The 19-year-old was also in the midst of a drugs controversy over several of his old tweets were found to contain references to illegal substances at the beginning of November.

Stereo Kicks left The X Factor competition last night after a sing-off against Lauren Platt which they lost out on.

Stephanie Nala has tweeted that she can no longer go shopping without a security guard after a scary incident in which a woman “went for her”.

It is thought that the woman involved in the altercation was a former classmate with whom Stephanie had trouble with as a teenager.

The singer, who was eliminated from The X Factor in week 2 tweeted about the incident, saying: “Out shopping and one of the girls who sold a story on me saying I was a bully just went for me. Now me and my friend can’t shop without … A security guard coming with us… It’s so disgusting when you get called a bully yet your the one being bullied … Was just out helping a friend with her holiday shopping…. It’s so sad whats allowed to happen to you for being on TV a couple of times.”

It was only two months ago that the X Factor star opened up about the frightening death threats she was receiving – up to 200 with threats aimed at her family also.

Sounds like a scary situation, hopefully authorities can resolve it soon.

It certainly hasn’t been the best week for X Factor star Lauren Platt.

As well as suffering from a rather nasty bout of the flu, the star has also reportedly been dumped.

Ouch.

According to reports, the young singer’s boyfriend, Liam Baker, broke up with her after rumours emerged that she was secretly seeing fellow contestant Charlie George, from boy band Only The Young.

A source told The Sun that heartbroken Liam called time on their relationship over stories of her sneaking into Charlie’s room, despite her denying the claims.

“Her going with Charlie was the final straw,” said the source.

Poor Lauren, we hope she’s okay!

Of course, Charlie is not the only X Factor star that Lauren has been linked to in recent times.

Indeed, One Direction star Niall Horan previously named Lauren as his favourite act on this year’s show and reportedly arranged to meet up with her.

If these rumours are indeed true, we doubt Lauren will be heartbroken for too long.

They found love on last year’s X Factor, but it looks like it’s all over for 2013 finalists Tamera Foster and Sam Callahan.

According to reports, it was 17-year-old Tamera who called for the split, after a year together, in order to focus on her career.

While she reached the quarter-final in last year’s competition, Tamera was swiftly signed up to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco.

Now, it has emerged that Tamera was told to break it off with Sam because being linked to another contestant may damage her quest for chart success.

A source told The Sun: “Tamera had strong feelings for Sam, but she is also very ambitious. It wasn’t her intention to hurt him, but she knew it was time to move on. Sam is moving on with his career and is still very ambitious so it just wasn’t going to work.”

It sounds as though we can look forward to some new music from Tamera very soon, with the star recently teasing big plans for 2015.

Taking to Twitter to address her fans, Tamera wrote: “Thank you for being so patient, I’m taking my time so I can give you the best! I won’t let you down. 2015. One love.”

We hope both singers are okay after the split!

X Factor finalist Fleur East has been one of the standout performers on this year's show, but she has let her talent do the talking so far, preferring to keep her personal life out of the spotlight.

Although she did admit that there "might be someone" special in her life, Fleur refused to dish any further details to the press.

Now though, her secret boyfriend's identity has been revealed. The singer has been seeing French fashion designer Marcel Robin for quite a while and things are "definitely serious," according to an insider.

"She is very proud of him, but has been keeping his name a secret in a bid to protect him from the publicity the show has given her," added the source. 'It has been difficult but, because Marcel understands, it hasn't created any tension."

Marcel is no stranger to the limelight, though – his fashion label, Elevate London, has been worn by the likes of Rita Ora and Jason Derulo. And although Fleur has kept her man's identity under wraps, she has in fact worn a number of his designs on the show, too.

With just three weeks to go until the X Factor final, Fleur has beaten Italian singer Andrea Faustini to become the bookies' favourite to win. Although Andrea was hotly anticipated to be this year's winner, his outburst after last Sunday's results show has left many worried if he may be crumbling under the pressure.

Remember back in 2009 when X Factor finalist Olly Murs was faced with the difficult decision of performing on the show or attending his twin brother Ben’s wedding?

Well, Olly decided to put the X Factor first and things have never been the same between his brother and the entire Murs clan since.

In a revealing interview with the Radio Times, the Troublemaker singer spoke of his decision not to attend the wedding, saying: "At that point in my life, I was like, as much as I love him, I have to do this for myself, I have to change my life, I never expected him to react the way he did.”

Olly who hasn’t spoken to his brother in five years thinks that there’s much more to the feud than just his absence at the wedding, admitting: “Ben’s wedding was his excuse for not having me in his life anymore. He got into a relationship with his now wife and I don’t think she ever liked us a family.”

Back in 2009, Olly’s brother Ben called him a “self-absorbed sell-out”, but Olly seems more concerned about Ben’s relationship with his parents than fussing over any bitter name-calling, saying: "I would love my mum to have her son back. She gave birth to both of us and she now only has one son.”
