We all know that Simon is trying to give the X Factor back some life, and the tried and tested faces are hoped to bring the show back to what it was.

Yesterday, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell all posed together again, sitting at the iconic audition desk. Hurrah!

Louis, who quit the show in 2015, looks only delighted to be back in action, while Sharon and Nicole look ready for action.

We'll be happy to see them back on our TV screen!

Singer Nicole Scherzinger is making her return to the X Factor!

Just hours ago Rita Ora announced her departure from the singing contest which prompted numerous reports that Nicole will return, the Daily Mail reports.

Nicole was a judge on the show in 2012 and quickly became a favourite with X Factor fans.

Alongside Nicole, Louis and Simon, Sharon Osbourne will take the last judging spot.

Lads, we can see this year being a good one!

Rita Ora has had one seriously dramatic fortnight, and it doesn't look like the press attention is going to calm down any time soon especially if her latest tweet is anything to go by!

Just weeks after the British star was forced to confirm she had nothing to do with Beyoncé and Jay Z's reported relationship trouble, the 25-year old singer has announced she will be stepping down as judge on The X Factor.

In a bombshell tweet, the How We Do singer revealed that her time on the long-running talent show had come to an end, tweeting: "I had a ball on @TheXFactor last year and will miss the team."

The news comes after the shock exit of fellow X Factor heavy-hitters including Cheryl, Nick Grimshaw, Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, and will undoubtedly send the rumour mill into overdrive as the public grapple to understand why Rita has decided to say her goodbyes after winning last year's show.

Putting rumours of a rift with Simon Cowell to bed, the singer continued: "@simoncowell can't wait to work with you again… I'll be round for dinner soon. Thank you for the experience & love X.'

Fans of the former judge wasted no time lamenting her surprise departure, with one writing: "Gutted you are leaving you were such a good judge and will be a big miss on this year's show."

Hmmm…what next for Miss. Ora?!

Ah, Louis Walsh. We sometimes wonder how he became so successful because let's be honest, he probably isn't the most professional.

Last night, Louis appeared on the Late Late Show and he practically gave EVERYTHING away.

While talking to Ryan, he let slip that Sharon Osbourne is getting a contract (which we LOVE) and then either Rita Ora or Nicole Scherzinger will fill in the last spot.

Ah Louis, you never fail to make our day.

It was confirmed today that everyone's fave presenter, Dermot O Leary is making his way back to The X Factor this year – and now it's your chance to make it on to the show.

A lot of changes are expecting to drop this year, with the intimate room auditions making a comeback early-on in the series.

But any wannabe singers can meet the judges (which are yet to be confirmed) face-to-face next month at the Irish auditions.

Set to take place in Dublin's 3Arena on April 24, any aspiring performers will audition there in hopes of moving onto the next stage. You can apply to audition here.

Despite a last ditch effort to save The X Factor with a panel of new judges, a new hosting team and changes to the Boot Camp process, it seems Simon Cowell's long-running show is in trouble.

As well as watching the ratings plummet during the last series of the show, the music mogul is seeing his new recruits dropping like flies.

Just last week, Nick Grimshaw confirmed he would not be returning to the judging panel, and now – as was strongly rumoured on Friday – both Olly Murs and Caroline Flack have announced they too will not be back.

Both of them released statements via their reps, with Olly saying he wanted to turn his focus back to the music industry.

"This was an incredibly hard decision to make," he said.

"But my heart belongs to music and I want to concentrate 100% on making my next album and getting back to performing."

Caroline, meanwhile, thanked the ITV team for the "brilliant time" she had working on both The X Factor and The Xtra Factor.

While she may have insisted in today's statement that her time on the show was "just fantastic," she made no secret of how hard she found it to cope with negative criticism from the public during the most recent series of the show.

"I cried after the first live Sunday night," she admitted in a recent interview.

"The reaction was quite overwhelming because I didn’t think people would be talking about how I look, how I stand, how I walk, or how I laugh."

No word yet on whether Rita Ora will return, but we have our doubts already…

This morning, we reported that X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw has been given the boot by Simon Cowell – after just one series of the reality TV show too.

Now fresh information suggests that his replacement has already been lined up.

And it seems none other than 1D's Louis Tomlinson – who joined Simon Cowell at judge's houses last year – is ready to sign the dotted line that will bring him on board for 2016.

A source told The Sun that the new dad is really keen to get on board too.

"Louis Tomlinson is very likely to replace Grimmy," she insider revealed.

"He agreed in principle to the job while assisting Simon Cowell during the judges’ houses round last year."

There's a twist, mind: while Louis T is more or less a shoo-in, he still faces some niggling competition from none other than his namesake, Louis Walsh – whom Mr Cowell remains close to.

“Simon remains very fond of Louis Walsh and came very close to bringing him back during last year’s live shows," the source went on to say.

"He felt a certain something was missing on the show without him."

Recently, One Direction's Mr Tomlinson revealed that he's a big fan of the talent show and he "would love to be there week in, week out". He added: "I think I’d be a decent judge."

Louis Tomlinson or Louis Walsh – who would you like to see in the X Factor judge's chair this year?

Destined to become another addition to the long lost and forgotten hopefuls of the X Factor, Ben Haenow has been dropped from Syco following disappointing debut album sales.

With his album only released in November last, the 31-year-old took to Twitter to graciously announce the news.

"Working with The X Factor and Syco has been the most amazing time of my life and has given me the best possible platform for the start of my career.

"However, after discussions with the Syco team we both felt it was the right time to move on."

In other words, they told him to GTFO.

Don't worry Ben, you are not the first and will not be the last to be forgotten by the official reality show of musical doom.

1) Eoghan Quigg

What can we say about the fresh-faced little Eoghan who once melted our hearts with one puppy dog glance.

Well, after releasing the "worst album in the history of recorded sound" according to the Guardian, Eoghan has since been seen getting his kit off for various celebrity gossip magazines.

He did however go up for Ireland's Eurosong contest in 2014! Alas, he didn't win that either.

2) Diana Vickers

Thankfully, Eoghan's love interest from that particularly memorable year, has fared better.

You may not have heard much from Diana music-wise since her debut album Songs from the Tainted Cherry Tree.

While she did release a second album in 2013,  the formerly frizzy-haired songstress went on to do well in other ventures including starring in numerous West End shoes and producing her own fashion line.

3) James Arthur

Everything looked good for James when he won the X Factor. With his voice of gold and his single Impossible remaining the fastest selling winner's single to date.

What could possibly go wrong? Well, James' big mouth it would seem.

James became embroiled in a homophobic Twitter scandal and after releasing his debut album around that time, he quicklyparted ways with Syco.

Don't worry though! The musician has since been signed to Columbia Records and we shall be seeing a second album from him at some point this year.

4) Aiden Grimshaw

If you miss Aiden's brooding good looks as much as we do, then you will be glad to hear he has not completely disappeared off the face of the earth.

While having not heard much since his X Factor follow-up album, the 24-year-old went out and produced his own self-titled EP in 2013.

After a year long break from music, Aiden released two singles last year AND is reportedly working with Zayn on his upcoming solo album. Get you, Aiden!

5) Steve Brookstein

Remember the winner of the very first season of X Factor ever?

Well, poor Steve was swiftly dropped from Syco following a disappointing sales for his debut album. He has since been engaged in a very bitter public feud with Simon.

Steve released an album tragically titled Forgotten Man in 2014.

6) Matt Cardle

Another talented vocalist won in 2011 but you have probably since forgotten about him. After a successful winners single, Matt's second single didn't fare as well and… you've guessed it! Syco gave him the axe.

While the star has released two other albums since, the 32-year-old has gone on to find success in the West End and is currently starring in musical drama Memphis.

Oh and he has a new album coming out this year. What a busy bee!

7) Katie Waissel

Katie was bonkers on the X Factor, so we can only hazard a guess as to watch she could be up to know.

It turns out that she does not seem to have been up to much since but she did release an album in 2011 and is currently reinventing herself as part of a new band called Red Velvet.

They're working on a debut album.

8) Rebecca Ferguson

Rebecca may not be out in the charts or in the papers, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been working.

Rebecca has carved a career for herself away from pop music having released two critically acclaimed albums since competing in the show.

She also released a covers album last year.

9) Chico

It's Chico time!

Well, no we reckon it was never really Chico time.

Apparently, Chico has done everything from hosting online gaming sessions for a company called Bingocams UK to producing songs for England in the 2010 World Cup

As for today, we have no idea what this firecracker is up to nowadays but he does have a wife and daughter so we reckon he has his hands full.

10) Janet Devlin

Janet was booted out of the X Factor for being just that bit too unique for Syco's interests.

The Northern-Irish songstress did however land her own record deal and has since released two albums.

She still gigs around the world.

11) One Direction

Never amounted to much sadly.

Television presenter and X Factor veteran, Dermot O' Leary, thinks that Simon Cowell should take the X Factor off the air for a year.

In an interview with Radio Times, the 42-year-old has said that the show has taken a turn for the worst.

"If I was Simon, I’d take it off air for a year," said Dermot.

"I’d rest it, then I’d get back to the rooms. For me it was always room, arena, boot camp.

"I was really uncomfortable about the Six Chair Challenge. I don’t think it’s a particularly nice bit of television.”

And we could not agree more.

Over the years, ratings of the show have dropped while criticism has mounted over the constantly changing format of the show and an emphasis on entertainment over the people involved.

Dermot presented the talent contest for eight years up until last year and he was replaced by former Xtra Factor duo Caroline Flack and Olly Murs who faced intense criticism during the season's run.

"You never want other people to fail, but sometimes you need a few cock-ups to remind people it’s a finely honed craft."

The ITV show's ratings dropped by a massive 700,000 for the last show compared to last year's final and Dermot knows exactly where the viewers have gone.

"I know where they’ve gone, they’ve gone and watched Strictly [Come Dancing].”

“One of the reasons people like Strictly is because it’s a very warm show.”

You tell 'em, Dermo.

Usually when a contestant is booted off the X Factor and they say "you will see me again", we tend to roll our eyes.

And we expect even less from those who don't even make it through the first audition.

However it seems that storm-in-a-teacup Chloe Mafia has made a career for herself out of that fateful audition.

Chloe, who was Chloe Victoria and then Chloe Mafia and now Chloe Khan after marrying her millionaire hubby, has had a pretty drastic makeover and fulfilled her ultimate dream of gracing the pages of Playboy this year.

And now it seems that she is returning to her original passion: singing.

Yep, according to the Sun, Chloe's agent is getting her set for the music industry.

"Next year I'm taking Chloe back into the recording studio and we're going to work on some EDM-type stuff."

"I want to jump start her music career in Europe, and then who knows where it will go from there?"

"I've got producers in Miami and Los Angeles working on tracks for her at the moment. 2016 is going to be a huge year for Chloe."

While her audition was a shambles, her voice wasn't the worst with Simon even commenting that he could "see something there."

Watch this space.

Our party duo, Reggie'N'Bollie have not been offered a recording contract by Simon Cowell's record label, Syco despite coming second in this years X Factor competition.

The Ghanaian duo have reportedly not been approached by Simon despite the music mogul snatching up last years runner up, Fleur East.

In an interview with the Digital Spy, Reggie said that though Simon was very complimentary towards to the band, he made no plans to work with the duo in the future.

"Simon, right after the show, walked up to us and said, 'great job – well done. You guys have been amazing. We're glad you came on this show and we know the future is going to be bright for you.' "

If that was not a Simon Cowell rejection, then we don't know what is.

However, the success of the duo on the show has sparked a lot of interest in the hyperactive pair.

"[Simon] didn't say anything about a record deal, but we know our management are talking to different labels."

"At the moment there are really interesting conversations going on."

We hope this is not the last we see of these two.

With her pop star good looks and amazing voice, we had an inkling that Louisa Johnson was going to be in the X Factor competition for the long haul.

However, as most of us are fully aware, winning the show does not guarantee success. In fact, the majority of winners and runners up of the talent contest don't actually become the break out stars that the show promises to make them.

Could this be the case for our Louisa?

Louisa's first winners single, Forever Young, has become the worst X Factor debut track in the history of the show.

The single entered the UK charts at number nine making it the lowest chart level entry of any previous contestant.

Despite winning the competition with 53.9% of the vote last Saturday, Louisa's Bob Dylan cover only racked up a measly 39,000.

By comparison, last years winner Ben Haenow's winners single went on to sell 214,000 and became 2014's Christmas number one.

While this may not sound like a terrible outcome (she's still in the top ten!), in X Factor terms this is pretty much a flop.

The single has debuted at an even lower chart position in the Irish charts coming in at number 12.

Many are speculating that the success of Justin Bieber's Purpose album may be costing Louisa a higher chart position.

The Biebs is smashing records by holding the first and second chart spots at the same time as well as holding three of the top five chart positions in the UK.
