New (aroma) Rules: Dua Lipa is YSL Beauty’s new fragrance ambassador

Fashion icon, Grammy-award winner, pop star and most streamed female artist in the world and now YSL Ambassador. It's been quite the year for Dua Lipa, and it's about to get bigger.

Legendary fashion house Yves Saint Laurent Beauté have just announced that the singer is the new ambassador for their feminine fragrance, which will be released in September.

Pop music's bold new voice has made quite the splash since releasing her eponymous debut album in 2017. The London-born artist has been breaking records ever since.

Hailed as a 'Next Generation Leader' by Time magazine, winner of not one but TWO Grammy awards and three Brit awards and beholder of tens of millions of social media followers; success follows Lipa around.

We're all more than familiar with her female empowerment anthem New Rules, which now has over a billion views on YouTube (she's the youngest woman to have achieved this), and now we can smell unreal while blasting her tunes too.

YSL Beauté stated their pride in welcoming Dua Lipa to the YSL family for their new fragrance, citing her edgy and sultry beauty, ultra-cool personality and powerful looks as inspiration.

The fashion house love Dua's liberated attitude, fierce brand of freedom and sensuality, saying that she's perfect to express the fiery legacy of Yves Saint Laurent. We'd have to agree.

Dua asserted how delighted she is to be starting a campaign and collaboration with YSL;

“I connect so much with the campaign because of its fearlessness.

"I stand for the importance of being confident, strong and powerful and of not compromising on who you are, what you do and what you believe in, of always being proud of the things you do, and I feel that goes down very well with the same philosophy behind Yves Saint Laurent new fragrance.”

Stephan Bezy, International General Manager of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, commented on the new celebrity ambassador:

Did Miley Cyrus dress as Hannah Montana on the sly at the Met Ball?

There's no doubt about it, Miley's got the best of both worlds. Between living her home life on a farm with gorgeous hubby and actor Liam Hemsworth one minute to gracing the Met Ball red carpet the next; she can live two lives.

Why is that familiar? Well, rumour has it…Miley has brought Hannah Montana back before our very eyes.

At the Gala, the singer showed up to the lucrative event in a short, edgy green and black Yves Saint Laurent minidress. She looked incredible, but many were surprised that she wore such a low-key look.

The #lewk may seem laid back to some, but one eagled-eyed Twitter fan spotted that the dress bears a STRIKING resemblance to a former Hannah Montana outfit back in the day.

Is Miley an actual genius, or are we just being paranoid? The Party in the USA idol recently cut her hair for a throwback vibe, and she looks absolutely gorgeous.

Her fabulously glam, angular YSL minidress is all kinds of fun, as well as her colour-coordinated hubby. Who knew that this entire time, she's been channeling her iconic teenaged character?

The apparel is basically the same and we have officially been bamboozled by Miley again. How could the world miss a Hannah reference sneaked in? She's got new music coming out soon. so it would be the perfect promo opportunity.

As one Instagram commenter said, "Now that's camp." If this is truth, she totally nailed the Met's theme this year.

There's nothing better than wearing your favourite scent and a fresh new season is the perfect way to update your fragrance.

From the first ever Miu Miu scent to Tom Ford's new blockbuster, autumn's launches range from perky florals, to hearty, woody scents that linger.

Jo Malone – Mimosa and Cardamom

Jo Malone London's Mimosa and Cardamom is the fragrance equivalent of a cosy cashmere jumper – spicy cardamom paired with warm mimosa and tempered with a base of tonka bean.

Marc Jacobs – Decadence

Top marks for the slick bottle design for starters. There is a blend of plum, iris and saffron in the top notes, followed by a heart of rose, orris and jasmine sambac and base notes of amber, vetiver and papyrus woods. Fancy!

Miu Miu – Eau de Parfum

Ths is Miu Miu's first fragrance, and the scent itself is pretty floral; just as feminine as the clothes themselves. A strong lily-of-the-valley top note is joined by rose and jasmine at the heart.

Tom Ford – Venetian Bergamot

This fragrance has punchy top notes of ginger, bergamot and black and pink pepper give way to a heart of magnolia, gardenia, ylang ylang, cedar and pepperwood. This is a real autumn hearty treat.

Chloé – Eau de Toilette

This is a new, lighter take on Chloé's classic rose fragrance, Chloé Eau de Toilette is based upon the white rose and then complemented by bergamot, lemon, magnolia, gardenia, rose buds, cotton flower and musk.

Yves Saint Laurent – Black Opium

YSL's Black Opium gorgeous Eau de Parfum launched last year, and this year's new eau de toilette of the same name is a softer and fresher take on the scent's key coffee note. Fruity top notes of citrus, pear and blackcurrant introduce a heart of coffee, jasmine, orange blossom.

Guess who got the job as the new face of YSL’s new fragrance?

English model Edie Campbell has been named the new face of Yves Saint Laurent’s new fragrance.

She follows in the footsteps of Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt and our ever- favourite model Kate Moss.

The 24-year-old is very excited about her new role, saying: “I am truly honoured to become ambassadress for Yves Saint Laurent. The brand’s modern vision of beauty is very inspiring and I am particularly proud to represent such an audacious archetype of woman.”

While you may not be familiar with the young beauty, she has been around for a few years after appearing in Vogue at the tender age of 15. Even editor-in-chief at Vogue Anna Wintour loves the British star, saying: “Edie has the kind of quirky beauty that fashion types can’t help loving.” Now that’s a compliment if we ever heard one!

Edie will be working alongside Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn who are already signed to the fashion house – us jealous? Never…
