While the royal tour of Canada featured a multitude of designer gear, the Duchess of Cambridge finished her trip with a more affordable look.

Greeting crowds in Victoria over the weekend, Kate Middleton kept things high street chic with a cream blazer and black skinny jeans from Zara.

Beneath the jacket, the mother of two – whose selling power has been well documented – wore a ribbed top from H&M.

The look was finished with a pair of J. Crew loafers, a set of pearl drop earrings and a gold necklace – all of which could be easily replicated with cost effective dupes.

Leopard print is one of those trends that’s always lurking in the background waiting to return to fashion in some new on point way.

Unfortunately though the cheetah trend has a pretty intimidating reputation – one which leaves many women wary of introducing it to their wardrobes for fear of stepping out dressed as Kat Slater II.

Thankfully, there is one foolproof way of channelling this style and that’s by following one of New York’s most idolised fashionistas and adding just a hint of print to an otherwise simple outfit.

Style influencer Olivia Palermo recently showed the world how leopard print should be done when she was snapped wearing an open-neck white cotton poplin shirt from Zara which features a nicely sized leopard print pocket.

Olivia paired the shirt to daytime perfection with a light blue pair of distressed jeans, yellow pumps, a top handle bag and oversized sunnies, but that’s not to say this chic piece couldn’t easily be dressed up with black skinnies, a coloured lip and a pair of heels.

The best part?  This shirt is currently available both in Zara stores and online for just €29.95.

Zara may be one of the most fashion savvy retailers on the high street, but that doesn’t mean the brand is without its worries as the Spanish clothing giant is reportedly facing a $5 million lawsuit for allegedly manipulating its prices.

According to The Fashion Law, Zara is being sued by customer Devin Rose in California who claims that he and other Zara customers in the US have been overcharged as a result of the brand’s “deceptive pricing practices”.

The complaint states that Zara has made billions of dollars through the “classic bait and switch” practice of only tagging its clothing with euro prices – a procedure which Rose claims “lures” customers into making purchases.

In the lawsuit it is also claimed that once a customer reaches the till the products of choice are then sold “for a substantially higher amount in dollars” than conversion rates would suggest they should be.

Rose’s complaint is based on a personal experience he had earlier this summer at a particular Zara store in Sherman Oaks, California.  He claims he was charged almost 60% more than he should have been for three shirts because of Zara’s conversion rate tactics.

A spokesperson for Zara in the United States told TFL that the retailer “vehemently denies any allegations [of] deceptive pricing practices”.

If there’s one brand which inspires classic fashion like no other it’s Chanel, and during the iconic fashion house's Autumn/Winter ‘15 campaign there was one shoe that caught everyone’s attention.

On the day Karl Lagerfeld turned the Grand Palais into a giant Parisian café, each of his models walked down the runway wearing the same pair of nude and black sling back mid-height heels.

The simple shoes were the latest reincarnation of the brand’s legendary two-tone sling back shoe which – according to Chanel – give the impression of smaller feet and longer legs.

Thankfully for those of us whose budgets won’t quite stretch to high fashion, there is currently a wonderful highstreet dupe of this classic shoe available in Zara for just €25.95.

Besides the price point, the main obvious difference between the Zara and Chanel shoe is that the Zara version has a closed rather than sling back, but given that we are now in the season of Autumn/Winter we think the closed back could actually be preferable.

But if the shoe’s back is your favourite feature there’s no need to worry as Topshop have a similarly styled pair of flats for €68.

You're welcome!

While retail therapy is definitely up there as one of our favourite pastimes, there are times when we have arrived home from a shopping spree feeling more stressed than we ever thought possible.

Form crowded fitting rooms to mile-long queues, sometimes the search for a new dress can be more effort than it's actually worth.

Thankfully, the good folk at Zara have realised that we need a bit of a helping hand in this department, and have decided to introduce a few features which will make the day of any regular shopper.

According to Refinery 29, the store plans to kit out their fitting rooms with touch screens meaning that the awkward half-dressed mooch back to the shop floor for another size will soon be a thing of the past.

Oh, and those queues that make you want to simply drop to your knees and howl?

They will be replaced by a collection of self-service tills which means if the person in front of you really DOES want to shoot the breeze with the shop assistant, they can still do so, but you don't have to suffer behind them for fifteen agonising minutes.

While the features have been introduced in various branches of the popular store, it may be some time before they reach the Emerald isle, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate, right?!

Ladies, it's definitely a step in the right direction!

Zara is one of our favourite high street stores and not without good reason.

Always on trend and always affordable, we just love their stream-lined, minimal take on fashion.

So when we heard they were releasing a sports wear line, we just knew we were going to fall in love with it.

And we did.

The best part about the line is that it caters to a numbers of different sports and activities, not just the gym.

Featuring a tonne of sports luxe pieces and accessories that could conceivably be worn in your day-to-day life (as is totally normally these days), here are our top picks from the line which you can already pre-order on the Zara website

Neon top, €15.95
Sporty Neon Shorts, €17.95
Sneakers, €39.95
Knotted Yoga Sweatshirt, €17.95

Many of us flock to Zara for the fab style and deadly sales, so it will come as a shock to many that we have been pronouncing Zara wrong the whole time.

According to Refinery29, one of its fashion team member travelled over to Zara headquarters in Spain and noticed that NOT ONE person was saying the name of the brand like we do.

And, since Zara originated in that region, we really should be giving it the same care as other brands, like Dolce & Gabbana.

So, are you ready to see the way it really should be said? Here we go…

Zara is pronounced "dzah-dah." Interesting, huh?

This is due to the Northern Castilian dialect where Zs are pronounced with a soft "th" sound, and Rs are closer to Ds.

To be honest, we're all for pronouncing it the right way, but we doubt the real way is going to catch on… or a lot of people are going to be VERY confused.

Ok, so we have picked out a few things you need to purchase on your next pay day, and, yes you guessed it, they are all SHOES!

We know the good weather isn't always promised but June has been good so far so we definitely think it's safe to invest in a few sandals.

With mid-season sales beginning everywhere at the moment, we don't think you need much convincing either…

Fringe

We have seen a lot of this trend this spring/summer so far, and that's not about to change now. Our only rule with fringe is – choose ONE item of clothing. Wearing a fringe leather jacket and fringe suede jacket to go with your shoes is definitely a bit much.

Zara – €50

New look – €40

This one goes without saying, we all need a few pairs of sandals for the summer months. Definitely worth investing in a good pair if you are heading on holliers.

These are really comfortable and ideal for a day out which involves a good bit of walking around.

A new t-shirt being sold in Zara has caused consumers to question whether or not the ‘white is the new black’ slogan is a racist slur.

One person tweeted the retailer asking: “With all the uproar about cultural appropriation, did you really think it was a good idea to print a "White is the New Black" shirt?”

Another tweeted: “Dumb, why would you think creating a shirt that says "White is The New Black" would not be controversial”

Of course, it’s very possible that the slogan was just an innocent use of the well-known fashion phrase, or even a reference to the hit series Orange Is The New Black – but the real question is, how did nobody spot how it could be misinterpreted before it hit the shelves?

They say all publicity is good publicity, but we’re not so sure in this case!

Zara’s homeware collection is full of vibrant and colourful pieces that will really enhance those rooms in your home that need a lift.

Have a look at the pieces we chose, if you’re not too into bright colours and prints, there are also subtle shades and tones available.

Also trending at the moment are those Indian inspired elephant prints that we think look so beautiful on the glasses, not to mention an elephant shaped teapot – fit enough for a cup of Barry’s we think!
